Honestly, I hail Nigerians who live in the UK. How can someone cope in a country where you can pay income tax of about 45% coming from a country where you pay peanuts in taxes?

majority of people in the uk earn less than 35k a year. Tax is 20% for most people . The one of 60k for example. 50k will be taxed 20% and the 10k extra 40%. So its not exactly 40%.

Jamb is like a sprint. University and life is a marathon . I know someone who scored high in jamb and finished with 3rd class.

many years ago people in usa and China were earning less than one dollar per hour/day. Till their economy grew with govt efforts and incentives. Most of those taking the teaching job are unemployed and hungry. Will you rather they starve to death or play nairabet . Your argument is baseless . With night shift being his likely option because he will baby sit during the day and go hustle at night. Daycare is very expensive too abroad. Leaving a 3 months old baby behind in Nigeria self no go easy. If her mom is still alive let her follow to be doing nanny/ omugwo while the husband figures what good job or skill he can do. Can be visiting them.

that’s starting salary. Currently 28k according to someone on the thread. They earn more with overtime shifts. They also get increased pay as the years go by. They also work and live in areas with low cost of living.Remember these people were on 50k to 80k naira salary a month in Nigeria

tax is not 40% but 20% for that salary band. Someone earning 60k will be taxed 20% for the first 50k, then 40% for the extra 10k

Entry level for Nurses in UK is band 5 and they don't start on 22k, not even nursing associate. The starting salary for entry level nurse (Band 5) in England as of today is 28407 Pounds.

Nigerian Nurses in the UK start with 22k to 25k a year. There are Nigerian doctors on 60k GBP a year too.
