All you put there is beer parlour analysis. . I am glad that your ignorance has been enlightened today. Congratulations Bro! Do have a wonderful moment! |

CoronaVirusPro: You are not current and updated. Germany is already seeking alternatives and Africa and Canada are in consideration.
Normally, I shouldn't be enlightening you, but I will try to do. At the initiation of gas supply from Canada, A risk analysis must definitely have been done with mitigating plans in place, Germany definitely has alternatives on paper. Energy is not peculiar to Russia.
Germany is a bigger exporter than Russia, and same time has a bigger economy that Russia, so it has the funds to diversify with other strong European countries.
In 2022, you cannot use energy to seek relevance. Its abundant! Their definitely will be effects during this turn around, but it wont last for long and that has been my point.
Energy is not peculiar to Russia, and its insane and foolish to believe that ONLY Russia can supply Europe gas. You are mentally ill sincerely. Russian energy = German Economy. Remove the energy and see how everything will collapse. The alternative you talked about will take like 5 years, and this is not coming from Nigeria. Also, Europe doesn't need Cargo Ships for gas due to her industrial activities and warming their homes during winter (Answer to your Canadian alternative using cargo ships for gas). What Europe needs is constant supply of gas which is Gas Pipeline and it is only Russia that can provide such. Do you know how many years it will take AKK Gas Pipeline project to be completed? This is phase 1 of Trans-Sahara Gas Pipeline (TSGP) Project to Europe. Do you know how many years it will take TSGP project to be completed? Ajaokuta Project is more than 30 years in Nigeria. Someone earlier said if you want to mention serious countries, don't mention Nigeria but ignorance won't allow you. All the gas projects in Nigeria are well known to me. Relax, when you receive vital information, we will start to talk very well. Europe best option is Renewable and Hydrogen. Renewable technology needs more improvement and it is not reliable for now. Research is going on on Hydrogen. What Europe needs is something immediate not like 5yrs or 10yrs. By then, Cold will kill all of them and economy will collapse. I am using Solar, and it is not reliable. What I needed on average daily is 35,000kWh, solar produce 4000kWh, where do you expect me to get the remaining 31,000kWh? Nuclear energy, due to high risk involved, this is not possible for now. Relax, you dey learn. |

I explained to you why gas without the application of an external force, it is incompressible. skoskosko: Russian gas to Europe is irreplaceable in the near term. Even Europe by their own calculations expects to wean off Russian gas by 2027-2030 on the earliest. 2027 is about 5 years away. Why is it so? Finding alternatives involves a different logistics, while Qatar, Algeria may step up supply, the corresponding logistics is missing. Few European countries have LNG terminals. The biggest buyer in Europe currently has none and just started construction of 2 and this will take about 4 years. Those small countries that have like Latvia and Poland already has their facilities running at full capacity.
Secondly is volume. Europe does not even expect to be able to fully outsource 150bcm of gas from coordinated markets. It is banking on its ability to make up for the shortfalls by diversifying to greener energy by the end of the decade.
Again, costs, LNG gas is far expensive because of compression and decompression, as well as ship freight costs. These logistics factors into its price, making it too expensive compared to its Russian counterpart.
Lastly, please when talking about serious nations, never mention Nigeria again. We are a rich gas flaring nation. We do not have the capacity to even supply gas to Nigerians. I am not doing google talk, I personally own 2 gas plants in Benin and Asaba, and I can tell you for free, also feel free to verify, Nigeria imports majority of its LNG via ships and it berths at Onne. I will give you a clue to differentiate between Nigerian gas and imported gas. Have you ever filled your cylinder and it looks like it burned too fast and got finished on time? If so, that is gas produced in Nigeria, most probably from kwale station. The one from Europe burns differently and that’s what I stock most times to avoid customers complaints even though kwale gas is cheaper to stock. This is Nigeria that is not even a gas driven nation, with most citizens still using kerosene, firewood and coal, still importing gas for domestic use while having abundant reserves. . I have read something educative too. Simp CoronaVirusPro, come out. You heard him mentioned Compression and decompression. It is incompressible that is why to apply the "Compression" he mentioned, you apply some external force to compress a gas, then, it becomes a compressible fluid since it is in a compressed vessel under high pressure. Then, you now decompress it again, the decompression. Come and learn now. |

They will say ideally, gas is a compressible fluid when you apply some mechanism like a compressor. You can't compress the air you breath in except you apply some mechanical mechanism. In Engineering, this is where a compressor is needed to make it a compressible fluid when some external forces have been applied to it.
I will educate your ignorance today. See the mechanism used just to compress your cooking gas in your cylinder. |

CoronaVirusPro: Now you trying hard to sound enlightened after I have educated you.
No infrastructure but we getting gas to Europe. So the best your thinking faculty can offer you is that LNG is only transported by pipelines? Smh
We get billions of cubic meters to Europe SS of date so what point are you making here and trying hard to shift goal lost after exposing your illiteracy.
Poland and Lithuania import LNG, so what’s the crap you talking about? Your illiteracy is already exposed and now you trying to sound like someone conversant and updated.
Hello! Nigeria has the capacity to get LNG to Europe and you not more brilliant than Germans who have the option on the table.
And moreover, US has increased export of LNG to Europe and its not via pipeline.
Mr. Pipeline! If Europe had alternative or Nigeria or US, don't you think that the first thing they would have done is to turn off the tap supply to cripple Russian Economy? Even the Poland when Russia stopped supplying gas to them as of yesterday, they were buying same gas on backward integration from Germany. No option. You are not educated first, let me clear your doubt, Gas is not petrol. Do you know how long will it take a cargos to degasify, loan, gasify and offload? Do you know how long it will take a car to arrive in Europe from US or Nigeria, by then, industries using gas to run will collapse? They need uninterrupted supply of gas to run industries and heat homes in Europe. This is what Gas Cargo Ships can't substitute and why Russian gas can't be substituted for now because of sustainability. Russian gas is the cheapest for Europe globally. If you import from US, Qatar, and Nigeria on high price, what do you think will happen to European Economy? Inflation! US gas is times 3 costlier than what Russia is offering. You need to use Google sometimes. You are not too educated in Geopolitics. Literate my foot. Keep swallowing in chronic ignorance. |

Because you hear logistics and you think it is all. Nigeria doesn't have the capacity to supply Europe gas even Qatar doesn't have it. Do you know how many years it will take to construct these projects? Secondly, even US with the largest gas Cargo ships in the world can't substitute Russian Gas supply to Europe or meet up with demand to run European Industries let alone Nigeria or Qata with an existing Asian Buyers. No infrastructure to meet up with European gas demands for now. There is no alternative to Russian Gas supply to Europe, plus your useless logistics mentality. The 30 countries that make up NATO have more than 50% of global military hardwares and powerful economies to prosecute any war.
Russia is just a weakling playing games with countries that are not run by dictators. Only defensive weapons sent to small Ukraine led to their defeat in the 1st phase of the it started war.
Even this second phase could soon get stalled.
Russia knows it stands no chance with NATO even if the whole of China comes to their aid. Any conflict between Russia and NATO can be linked to a confrontation between a Cat and mouse and Russia is the mouse.
It's Russia that's scared of NATO and for good reasons.
If NATO wipes Russia from the face of the earth what would they have gained? Emotions and empathy will run high and they'll start blaming themselves for doing it.
Comparing NATO and Russia is like comparing Dangote and Osinbanjo's networth. That Dangote says he is not ready to drag properties with Osinbanjo at the auctions doesn't mean he doesn't have the resources he needs to buy over whatever Osinbanjo can afford 10 times more and over. One Putin's Hypersonic Missile will do the damage. Keep quiet. Go and read history. Strongest Military in NATO from EU bloc is France, follow by UK. Add to it outside EU bloc is US. Foreign Affairs › An Overview Of Hypersonic Missiles: Russia And China Are Leading On This Race by EdoBoy90(op): 10:50am On Mar 01, 2022 |
AN OVERVIEW OF HYPERSONIC MISSILES. After a long hiatus, hypersonic missile research and development is back in full swing. Major Powers, such as Russia, China and the US have been racing to develop hypersonic missile – a missile system so fast that it cannot be intercepted by any current missile defence system. Hypersonic missiles will play a huge role in foreign policy in the years to come, as core pillars of geopolitics such as geography and technological power can be undermined by hypersonic missiles. And, given a recent uptick in “successful” tests from the likes of China and Russia, hypersonic missiles are much closer than we think, forcing a global re-assessment of traditional notions of deterrence. Defence IQ wanted to explore this topic in greater detail, so we have sought the expertise of Dr James Bosbotinis, a UK-based specialist in defence and international affairs, with a particular focus on maritime and air force developments. WHAT IS A HYPERSONIC MISSILE? A hypersonic missile travels at speeds of Mach 5 and higher – five times faster than the speed of sound (3836 mph), which is around 1 mile per second. Some missiles, such as Russia’s upcoming Kh-47M2 Kinzhal air-launched ballistic missile, are allegedly capable of reaching Mach 10 speeds (7672 mph) and distances up to 1200 miles. For comparison, the US Tomahawk cruise missile – the United States Navy and Royal Navy’s go-to long range missile-system – is subsonic, travelling around 550 mph and travelling a maximum distance around 1500 miles. A hypersonic missile exceeds Mach-5 (3,800 mph) and is five times faster than the speed of sound. Currently, there is no operational defence system that can deny the use of these strategic weapons. As a result, many world powers including the US, Russia, India, and China are working on hypersonic missiles. However, there are many technological hurdles to overcome, particularly with regards to sustaining combustion inside the missile system, while enduring the extreme temperatures of hypersonic speed. Russia and China will have the capability the hit carrier groups with hypersonic missiles before they can get in operational range to launch airstrikes, as the upcoming F-35 stealth fighter jets have a combat radius of 450-600 miles, meanwhile hypersonic missiles potentially have a range in excess of 1,200 miles.
