Why is it that Nigerians destination is Canada? What is the motive behind this? Why not Australia? Let us discuss! |
God is wonderful |
Nice thread |
I did mind 21st December 2020 and I got it same day. It is because many Nigerians want to Japa. Country don red. |
Today is 14th of April, 2021. Will September BE possible again this year? |
Today is March 20. PTDF has forgotten us. |
Decarbonisation is the reduction of carbon emissions using renewable energy resources such as wind turbine, solar energy, biomass etc. This will significantly reduced greenhouse gas emissions from fossil fuels. Across the globe, countries are experiencing climate change Nigeria inclusive. This has negative impacts on the environment and human health. Let us protect the environment and our health by taking climate action. Due to the heat wave in Nigeria currently caused by climate change, this requires urgent solutions to reduce carbon emissions and to avert future disasters like floods, winter storms, food shortage, crops' failure in the growing season, droughts and other diseases. 1. Decarbonising the energy and power sectors, and industrial processes using alternative energy sources such as wind turbine, solar energy etc. 2. Planting of trees in rural and urban areas to absorb CO2 from the atmosphere. 3. Mitigation strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions should be implemented. 4. There should be public awareness campaign on climate change and its negative impacts. 5. Due to lesser rains, irrigation system should be used by farmers. Governments across board should support farmers to prevent hunger. Join the climate revolution now! |
TuborTee143:. I have not seen anyone. Those of us in Abuja should mobilise and go to PTDF HQs |
PTDF has forgotten us |

Yesterday, someone made a post relating to the heat wave currently in Nigeria. Here is the post link: https://www.nairaland.com/6450279/what-causing-too-much-heat This is the negative impact of greenhouse gas emissions released into the atmosphere by the burning of fossil fuels from automobiles, generators, and chemical processes carried out in factories and power plants. One of the most important human impacts on the environment is the rapid increase in greenhouse gas (GHG) which includes carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), nitrous oxide(N2O), chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), perfluorocarbons (PFCs), and hydrocarbons (HFCs) (Giwa, 2014). This has caused climate change across the globe such as winter storm that happened in Texas, US and claimed more lives in February 2021, droughts, floods, increase in ambient temperature in Nigeria currently, and crops' failure and food shortage experience in the growing season in Nigeria. We should reduce the amount of greenhouse gas emissions and develop suitable solutions to tackle climate change. One of the major constituents to this is carbon dioxide (CO2). We should encourage the planting of trees to absorb CO2 and other emissions ( methane, nitrous oxide, chlorofluorocarbons etc) from the atmosphere. WHO estimates that between 2030 and 2050, climate change is expected to cause approximately 250000 additional deaths per year globally, from malnutrition, malaria, diarrhea and heat stress alone; this was estimated to translate to direct damage costs to the health of between USD 2-4 billion per year. The data and information from this report require climate emergency and sustainable solutions to climate change. This has a negative impact on the health and agricultural sectors. The negative impact of GHGs on agriculture and food security, especially in tropical and subtropical regions is expected to increase the risk of hunger by additional 80 million people by 2080 in Africa and Southern Asia (Odjugo et al., 2001). We should advert this now by developing climate change mitigation strategies. Extreme high air temperatures contribute directly to deaths from cardiovascular and respiratory disease, particularly among elderly people. In the heat wave of summer 2003 in Europe for example, more than 70 000 excess deaths were recorded(2) (WHO report). This high temperature cause heat stroke and other diseases. To stay safe, the following listed below will help you a lot. Due to climate change, there is an increase in ambient temperature in Nigeria especially in the Northern part of Nigeria. For those in Abuja and North, 1. Drink more water. 2. Stay in cool places. 3. Go to swimming pool and relax. 4. Eat a lot of fruits to remain healthy. Maintaining a proper ambient temperature is very necessary to your health. Michael Lelecy Yahaya |
We all need to meet and deliberate on this issue. With the way I am seeing things, we might not even be called this year for PTDF Scholarship. |
YusufMonteCarlo:. Create One and add others. |
Akomiloli1:. We should write to them or those in Abuja should gather and go to PTDF Headquarters to find out whether they have abandoned us or not. |
PTDF has forgotten us. It is high time we should write to PTDF to know our fate about the scholarships not waiting endlessly. My one percent opinion. |
This thread is calm. No news |
jjj37:Yes, oil and gas is a course in some UK universities. Oil and Gas Engineering or Oil snd Gas Management. |
Fingers crossed |
You have started. You think that Cameroonina borders belong to you right? Pls don't cry to UN and be shouting Massacre again. |
Abokii8:. No update. Just doing research. |
dives:Thank you |
I need courses approved by PTDF at Cranfield University. I can't get such there. Very urgent pls. |
Pls someone should send the UK Schools listed by PTDF. |
Good thread |
Just 17 names for Mechanical Engineers. Na wa ooo |
Jibboy1:. If they reach out to us by Match, will September resumption possible this year again? Except UK schools and few others. |
