It seems the arrest of Ramon Abbas aka "Hushpuppi" seems to reawaken everyone to the existence of Internet Fraud, but the truth is that it has always been with us, and would always be here if we keep waiting for just EFCC to put a stop to it.

internet fraud (Yahoo-yahoo, G-boys), ponzi or other types of fraud have become a very common event in our daily lives. We tend to know or have heard of people that engage in these events, but we keep quiet about it, for one reason or the other, maybe because they are our friends or family.

How many of Our friends who are into Internet Fraud (G-boys), whether they have hit or not, have you reported to the Police or EFCC??

we tend to forget that, "It is these same individuals (G-boys), who engage in all these acts of fraud, & hit it big tomorrow that would use those money to contest for election with well-meaning individuals like yourself and win you, because you do not have enough money to spend like them, regardless of what your motives or plans are.

After they win and get there, they'd continue their G-boys on a political level, with their looting, and then you'd come on Nairaland or twitter to complain.

Just imagine Hushpuppi was to run for senate tomorrow, who would win Him with all the money he has to spend??

Also on other other side, most youths and young persons, students, etc that go onto cyber-crime is due to "Peer Pressure/Influence". if you see someone you know from Adam, who is just at your level or maybe you are even better than the person, all of a sudden, riding big cars, and buying houses for himself or his parents, you'd start thinking about why you cannot achieve the same, and then you'd be ready to do whatever it takes to do that, however legal or illegal.
You will then encourage yourself with the fact that many people are doing it, and that there is corruption everywhere.

When you put a spoon or any object in a child’s mouth, it can cause the tongue to fall back and block the airway- Suffocation.

It can dislodge a tooth, child inhales it - choking.

The truth is, convulsion alone cannot kill the child.
It’s mostly complications from it that can, most of these complications arise from well intended harmful first aid practices that our parents of old have been practicing.

No. They have just been lucky

For everyone who you mention, it worked for, I can mention 2 who luck ran out on.

The thing about seizures is that, they eventually stop on their own. So whether you intervene or not, it’d still stop.

The fear is brain injury from prolonged and frequent seizures.
So We advice that, when a child has seizures, even when it stops, take them to the hospital.
The Dr will identify the root cause and treat it.
Once treated, seizure will stop.
If it’s epilepsy, lifelong treatment to reduce incidence will be given.

If it doesn’t stop after 5 mins, Take the child to the nearest hospital/emergency centre. The Drs there will give anti seizure medication which will stop it immediately. Then commence diagnosis of the underlying cause.

Don’t stay home cause the seizure stopped. It may come back again. Each time it happens, It takes ‘a piece of the brain’. Consistent frequent seizures can impair brain function overtime. So get help. Don’t pamper it.

While you’re at it, stop every other unnecessary ’first aid’; Onions, Cow urine, Mother’s urine, Palm kernel oil, foot roasting over naked fire�

These children, or affected persons don’t benefit from all those. It looked like it worked cos the seizure stopped abi. Well, that was because it was going to stop anyway. It’s an electrical event in the brain, it stops when it times out

I know how scary it is to watch. Very!.

However, here’s what can help:
When a child is convulsing:
- clear off any harmful objects around
- keep them on a flat surface
- Remove all tight clothing
- Fever? Use tepid (Luke warm) water to mop their body (Fever is the commonest cause of seizure in children below 2 years).
- Lay them on their side of they are foaming, so the liquid can drain out from the side, you don’t want them to choke on it. Don’t put your fingers in.
- Time it. Past 5 mins?
- Call your hospital/state emergency if you have the means.
- It could also be from poisons, so check.
Check to make sure your child didn’t ingest or even inhale any poisonous substance. If they did, look at the label to see any first aid tip. Take it with you to the hospital
- Rush to the nearest hospital.
Don’t introduce anything into their mouth, it will do more harm than good.

Most times, for Children, you arrive the hospital to find out they are having severe malaria which parents have been pampering at home.

Once that malaria is treated, baby will be fine.

Good morning practitioners and experienced people in the house please I need an urgent solution before it is too late.

I got married 8 month ago and since then my wife is unable to get pregnant, we became worried and so we went to run some test to know what is actual problem.

The result came back that I have some serious infections and it has been in my system for a while and it has also affected my sperm count and needed urgent attention so I proceeded with the treatment immediately with injection for 7 days.

After a month I went back to rerun the test to see if there is any improvement, to my greatest surprise the test read as the first one as if nothing has been done.

Secondly: 1 month is too early to re-do a test for Semen Analysis..
you should wait at least 3 months before doing the test again.
When you want to go for the test, you should abstain from sex for about 2-4 days. as well as masturbation.

I was accidentally diagnosed positive for hepatitis b sometime in 2014, when I had to do general medical test as a requirement for a job recruitment.

First things first, You weren't accidentally diagnosed. you were rightly diagnosed, but during a Routine check up.

Now, concerning your worries. I would advice that you do your best to always see or talk to a doctor occasionally. It is okay that you are feeling well.

Hepatitis is caused by a virus & just like most Viral diseases like Covid-19, it has no cure. You would have to depend on your immune system to keep the virus from overwhelming you.

In the absence of symptoms, there is no need for you to take any medication.

Secondly: Hepatitis is transmitted through the blood (e.g: transfusion, sharing sharp objects, etc) & through sexual intercourse. I would advice you to let your partner know about it, so that she can take precaution by getting vaccinated against Hep. B.

finally, for anyone here who was bord after 2004. I would advice you all to get vaccinated for hepatitis B. the vaccine was introduced into the NPI in 2004, hence most person born before then wouldn't have gotten the vaccine.

There is a dangerous mis information on this thread that ulcers are cause by H. Pylori.

There are different types of ulcers, and yes some can be caused by H. Pylori. However, you can also have stress ulcers called dispepsia. nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs ) such as Paracetamol can also cause ulcer when they are taken on long-term and force your stomach to stop producing protective mucus. Ultimately, ulcer is a wound, keep open by slow rate internal wound heal. Aggravated by the barge of stomach acids HCL your stomach produces 3 times a day when it expects you to eat.

H. Pylori can also invade ulcer wounds caused by other things. The irony, is that proton pump inhibitors that reduce acids production, such as Omerprazole, also improve your stomach environment making it more conducive and less acidic for H. Pylori to thrive. So the combination with anti biotics is a fine balance. When you have tried anti- biotics, if not working, know your problem is to heal a physical internal wound. Look for vegetable sources of antioxidants, pawpaw, unripe plantain allegedly, beetroot for sure. Check my earlier posts for details.

Majority of ulcers are caused by infection with H.pylori (about 70%).
