Continue to deceive yourself, all graduates leave southeast immediately after graduating to look for job in other parts of Nigeria cos there very slim job opportunities in the south east, most factories and employment opportunities are found mainly in the south west, name me at 3 known companies that employ people in the south east? Only employment in the south east is building houses, how many social amenities are there in the south east? My people are still too blind to see the truth, that we have nothing compared to other tribes in Nigeria..

Gudnoon Nairalanders, I have been working for a company for 35k per month for 12 months no increment. I have been promoted from one position to another without a payrise.

Late may this year my salary was increased to 50k with a whole lots of task, I work Monday to Sunday, 7.am to 7pm some times down to 9pm.

1st week of June a similar company based on recommendations invited me for an interview, they offer to pay me 120k, which I insisted on 150k, finally they agree to pay but when we went to the business place, it is a little beginning business that I have to grow from the scratch in an isolated area. I began to reason if I opt out of my present job and venture into this, how long will this payment last, if the business folds up, where will I start from?

In my present job it might take another 12 months before another increment but I can work there as long as I may wish to work cos it has job security.

Please advice me am confused and I have family with kids.

For where, people that died of other ailments is now termed Covid, Nigerians doesn’t suffer and die from ailments again before Covid just came 2months ago, with fake testing kits dumped here from China every sample taken is now Covid positive, just like Tanzania president caught them when he sent sample from goat it returned positive, another one from Paw paw returned positive he sacked the China compromised WHO from his country now Tanzania is Covid free, see the chaos in Mexico, Brazil and Peru were the real Covid is, Covid is no joke it doesn’t hide and chloroquine doesn’t cure it, it’s a death hurricane even the unborn feels it, so Nigerians should stop praying for Covid..
HealthRe: Israel Shuts Schools As Pupils & Teachers Contract COVID-19 After Reopening by Edusouls(m): 6:11pm On Jun 09, 2020
Ok anyhow , but bro I tell you corona is a big scam in Nigeria, WHO is a colossal failure, Tanzania president secretly sent a sample from goat to WHO it returned positive he sent another one from paw paw it returned positive, he called WHO head in his country to defend the results but he couldn’t, he sacked them from the country, the real thing is that the testing kits we use here is very substandard,China is terrible they sent such to Europe but was rejected it only has 30% accuracy, now these kits are dumped in Africa, on the reality Nigeria has very little cases mainly imported from abroad, now they claim we have 13000 cases, which isolation centre in Lagos can hold 5000 people? We want them to show us, see this country is a joke, people suffering from malaria, typhoid, diabetes, and other normal ailments we suffer here is now termed Covid, there is no community transmission yet in Africa due to some unseen factors, watch the chaos is peru, Brazil and Mexico, when Covid really comes, even the unborn feels it, it’s a death hurricane..

Yes from your write up seems you are very educated, well informed and modern, you don’t easily meet such people in nairaland, we talk more, and learn more from each other on watts app,so what’s ur number I add u up..
Investnow2017:
Here it goes:

It has been a great concern to informed individuals why the Covid-19 does not have a devastating effect in Africa.

I discovered that countries within the tropical zones have comparatively fewer fatalities. Here is a quick glance at the statistics: I am going to indicate the confirmed cases viz a viz the number of recorded deaths:
Saudi Arabia 101,914 / 712
Pakistan 98,943 / 2,002
Qatar 68,790 / 54
UAE 38,808 / 276
Kuwait 31,848 / 264
Afghanistan 20,342 / 357
Oman 16,882 / 75
Bahrain 14,763 / 25
While there is some truth that the climate of a region may have some effect on coronavirus, I think the effect is more palpable in its potency to lead to fatality than in it's infectivity. As we can see above, although the rate of infection is quite high in those countries, the death rates are rather shockingly low.

On the argument that Nigerians have some measure of immunity to coronavirus in view of their inherent exposure to antimalarial medications is not entirely substantiable especially when it is the case that malaria is a common epidemiological concern in many regions of the world. Malaria is found in more than 100 countries, mainly in tropical regions including:
Large areas of Africa and Asia.
Central and South America.
Haiti and the Dominican Republic.
parts of the Middle East.
some Pacific islands.
The reason why fatality rate to Covid-19 is low in Africa remains a subject line for intense research and study.
There must be something unique outside and beyond the above postulations. Yes, malaria is foreign to Europe, but not those climes listed above. That Brazil which shares almost the same climate with Nigeria and also familiar with malaria has such unimaginable level of fatality to Covid-19 is really cause for concern and study.

It is to be expected, however, that while some factors have proved helpful in limiting the fatality rate to this pandemic in Africa, there are obviously the case of some countries who have been lapse in containing this contagion. Even though the following countries lay within the tropical zones, their records do not look promising. For example;
Egypt 32,612 / 1,198
Iraq 12,366 / 346
Nigeria 12,233 / 342
Algeria 10,050 / 698
Sudan 6,081 / 359
Morocco 8,177 / 208
If Ghana records are to be used as a benchmark, the countries then have a lot to learn from that country. It is generally observed that nations that have been successful with this pandemic have been countries that adopted the following measures:
1) Early intervention and deployment of containment measures.
2) Efficient crisis management protocols
3) Accelerated testing and contact tracing.

I read somewhere that majority of infected ones in Nigeria are within the safe age bracket of 20-50years. Could that have explained our unique ability to fight off this virus even without resort to government intervention? I say this because I am of the school of thought that believes that this virus has infected more persons than are reported by NCDC due to their limited capacity to handle the cases. My belief is not unfounded as there are widespread reports of persons who have fought off this virus while relying on established efficacious medications obtained from informal sources.
I wish the goverment can do a targeted probe into this observation as this might be a strength that can be harnessed going forward.

We have a very humid environment, all year round abundance of sunlight, our temperature can be at times 36 degrees Celsius, our atmosphere is steadily sterilised by nature, we consume mainly natural food making us have stronger immune system, malaria endemic areas usually have low deaths that’s why Africa lags behind the world in death count,Africa has the most intact natural environment and the only in the world, we have less pollution than industrialists nations, making our air purer and richer in oxygen

Relax we ain’t the only ones in trouble in terms of school, most schools around the world are affected just like us, most USA schools are shut for the remaining calendar year, just leave school for now and thank God we are safe in Africa, see the chaos in Brazil, Mexico and Peru, Covid 19 is a death hurricane
seguntijan:
Am really worried about getting the schools opened in Nigeria. While we have total lockdown of Schools in Nigeria other nations are schooling and graduating their students. A school in US had virtual convocations in May. While nations are moving on despite corona virus we are breeding 1million boys. The church and the mosques should not only be concerned with opening the worship centers. But must work with Government on how to open the schools as well. The future of the churches and mosques is in the educated children. in fact even the developed world with all their infrastructure still had a tough time discerning how precisely to handle the situation with the virtual learning and they all agreed that what they were able to come up with it is still not the same quality as the normal school session. Not to now talk about our case in Nigeria without infrastructure.

For example most programs in Edinburgh university UK did not continue lectures, fortunately in all Uk schools it was already close to end of session, they just told the students to continue to read materials which were normally available to them online.
They then started thinking of how to do the exams, all exams were postponed while all this thinking was going on eventually they concluded exams will be done online, a two hour paper but they will have 48 hours to write, and submit. The 48 hours is to accomodate infrastructural inequity issues across the student population knowing that some of them may have poorer internet access.

I also know that medical student in Newcastle University for example did not write final exams because of the difficulties thrown by inadequate infrastructure for the type of virtual exam they will require. They simply graduated them based on all of the past performances in exams and their clinicals, and so on and so forth .
So infrastructure is key. When majority of the lecturers buy their computers, softwares, data and pay for powers and even stationaries that they use for their work from their salaries. Also how many students have access to the infrastructure they need to receive virtual learning from us on the other end in Nigeria? All these are pertinent issues.
We're in trouble in Nigeria
HealthRe: Israel Shuts Schools As Pupils & Teachers Contract COVID-19 After Reopening by Edusouls(m): 6:28pm On Jun 08, 2020
Our unique climate doesn’t allow easy local transmission, though Nigeria has some cases mainly imported from abroad and some human to human infections, we don’t have 12000 cases of Covid is just inflated for money, though I don’t support opening schools for now till next year
seunlayi:
This is a news that should be spread in Nigeria to let people know how infectious this virus can be.

And to those shouting 'end lockdown' this is a lesson, Nigeria and Nigerians can handle the consequences
