Travel / Re: Kidnappers Abduct More Motorists On Lagos-Ibadan Expressway (Pics) by effyokokon678(m): 4:59am On Jan 18, 2022
Jakumo:

Everybody is a self-promoted armchair general on the internet. A Chinese saying reminds us that idle spectators to any conflict always see clearly what the combatants struggle in confusion to identify. It is all too easy for action movie fans to sit behind their computer keyboards and formulate logistics, re-supply, armament, air support, and pincer movement infantry attacks on the enemy from the comfort of our armchairs.

The stretch of the recently expanded expressway connecting Ibadan to Lagos, lying between Ibadan and the Benin interchange, is possibly the smoothest and most blemish-free stretch of motor highway that exists anywhere in the African continent as the year 2022 commences. A driver's dream, this beautifully constructed highway is the perfect place to open the throttle of performance cars for some serious high-speed travel.

With that ability to drive very fast on that particular stretch of highway, motorists plying that pleasurable road surface have been lulled into a false sense of security, grounded on the optimistic presumption that simply driving fast reduces the odds of falling victim to highway robbers or kidnappers lurking in the bush alongside that strategic travel corridor.

Tragically now, the news emanating from that once "safe haven" highway to Ibadan, is that Fulani-speaking terrorist bands have begun laying armed siege on travelers along that road, spraying their vehicles with automatic rifle fusillades and mass kidnapping passengers who are then force marched to their horrifying fates in the bush.

This is a MAJOR security challenge at both state and federal levels that must be met head-on with the full weight of the Nigerian military and airforce. Simple commercially available drones could be sent aloft from within 3 miles of known bandit activity locations along that highway as vital eyes in the sky to guide and optimize law enforcement activities on the ground.

Understandably PMB will be more comfortable and dispose to Osinbajo's candidature than any other aspirants in the APC.

However, Mr president is caught in the strong decision to support a competent loyal surbodinate who have shown capacity & a reliable ally who has paid his due.

My understanding is that there's no one who will have the kind of Osinbajo as a VP with the attributes he has shown over 8yrs
& will wants to throw him under the bus when it matters.

Though I am not a partisan politician, I'll love to vote for Osinbajo.

He needs to also check his back for mere praise singers.

An empty order from Mr Humpty Dumpty

The interpretation of this message by all security formations is "kill whoever is trying to retaliate or stop this onslaught been perpetuated by my kinsmen".

What baffles me is that, has the number of other tribesmen so decimated at the upper echelons the Nigerian armed forces and Police, that everyone of them stands akimbo and watch this carnage happen in their states? Or is it that the Fulani soldiers and police dominates these flashpoint States? Because I have it on good authority that they tactically withdraws or watch it happen, as if providing cover for these terrorists.

I think that Plateau had a large number of Generals in the army. Can they fold their arms and see their people killed like chickens?
