sorry your question is clear when you said 3.10 pls can you state your dimension well cos normally what I know will be the dimension for the soakaway is 62truckx10x10 which is 6wide 10 long and 10 deep if this is the dimension you have then the materials will be

sand for molding and setting is 2trucks at 14,000 each =28,000 depending on the area
granite 45,000
cement for molding setting and plastering 40bags
rod 20lenght at 1,200=24,000
stirrups 10 length at 350=3,500
mason and labor for setting 40,000 for the 2soakaway
mason and labor for plastering 16,000
all casting 10,000
iron bender 10,000
carpenter 10,000
diggers 35,000 for the 2

Hello All,

I just bought a one plot of land (100ft x 50ft) in port Harcourt. I intend to build a 4 x (2 bedroom flat). 2 above and 2 below, hopefully a parking lot will come off the remaining space.

I have paid for:

1. The plot.
2. The lawyer/survey fee.

Please does any one have an idea of how much it will cost to:

1. fence this plot?
2. Build up to the roof?
3. Roof the building?
4. Any other payments? e.g. I was told I will need to pay another 3%-4% of the total cost of the land to the local government council of port Harcourt for deed of conveyance?
5. etc. etc.. Any other unforeseen payments and how much roughly?

Please if someone can tell me a rough estimate that will be lovely. Really not sure how to go about this as I don't live in the country.

for the fence,it depends on the height you want but to give you a normal height quote like to 10 courses high it will take you 1,1m including a gate while to build to roof will take you 8.5m and the roof depending on the roof sheet like for (long span aluminium) 1.450m,steptiles 1.650m,stonecoated 2.8m

3200 blocks will be good

To build a 3bedrm pls always specify your 3bedrm cos its not cleared the way u state it it could just a 3bdrm and it could be a bdrm flats ensuite so state it well though with your dimension to build such will take you 3,600 block from scratch to finish

I'm a builder so you should what I'm giving here is abt right cos one can't be all perfect.

Is there any difference between the compressive strength of hand mould blocks and machine vibrated blocks?

If yes,kindly state the compressive strenght of hand mould blocks and machine vibrated blocks.

Then give a conclusion on the best .

Note: I know the answers to the above questions but needed someone to make clearification so that others will learn

Thank you very much my broda for the question and hears my answer to it,the strenght to hand mould block is far much to vibrated machine in just one different way which is more likely the reason I see it as of more advantage to vibrated block,

Here's the reason to which hand mould is of more advantage to machine
Hand mould can only be of strenght if
1)Its being with good moulders
2)If the numbers is reduce to a specification you deem is okay for solidity
3)If its being mould in your site

Disadvantage of vaibrated block

This is because its being use to mould and sell and the seller would want to make he's profit and on this he will have no other option to increase the numbers of blocks so that he can make profit cos its from this block he will

1)Pay the moulders
2)Pay for the desiel of the machine and repair
3)Then makes his profit

With all these you can see that there really a margin distance with which you can compare these means of moulding

The only reason the matket is still on is because its quicker and its on existing in this manner for people you want materials on time,so with this I use this medium in stating that the strenght to hand mould to machine mould is the more of cement in reducing the numbers blocks that makes it have more strenght than hand moild.

what is the cost of building foreign and standard 4bedroom duplex with 24 by 24room size with BQ and 3sitting room including all finishing to live inside ,around and In Lagos and Ibadan. On 2 to 3plots.

For ibadan will be ok for that amount but for lagos depnding on the location if the plot does not require raft it will be ok but if with raft it will add the sum of 3.5m to the 20m to make 23.5m

9inches is ok and pls don't make it more than 28 to 30 a bag if you doubt it try it per bag and when its dry try to pull it you will what I'm saying, I'm a builder and the job I did recent that was contracted to me including moulding that was how I mould it 30 to a bag trust me see pix below

Generals,there's being so many criticism in block moulding and buying vaibrated blocks, let's check it this way from the onset we know vaibrated blocks has always been on the market before the introduction of hand mould blocks now if you as abuilder who intends to mould block for a building you should know considering this moulding the numbers of blocks you intend to make from a bag of cement is what decides the solidity of the block but buying this blocks the dealer is meant to make profit so there's absolutely no way the block making will be as solid as moulding yourself now see this moulding pix this block was mould to get 33 of 6inches hollow from a bag and 28 from 9inches now which block dealer will mould and sell to make profit if he moulds for 33blocks a bag and make profit, I want us to really check this cos in all what I consider in buy this block is based on the passed names of vaibrated block and some times our block moulder that can't be trusted are the reason we have in going for already mould block and I tell you this in as much as there's no trust believe me there are still people who will work for you in trust and give you good job for the value of your money.
