Webmasters › Re: Broke Professional Webmaster: Should I Change Career? by egift(m): 10:23am On Sep 19, 2012
Here is my advise, think towards building a website (web presence, business or so) for yourself, that will be making you money. Come up with an idea (the cost of developing the site, will be eliminated - since you will design it).

Once you have a successful site that is generating you income, it will provide you a residual income - other people's website can come later and you will earning additional income.

This is Nigeria, if you see any other related business that will generate you income, you can still do (it may not necessarily mean you quit your current profession).

NB: Its wise you collect not less than 70% of the total cost of a web project, before you lift a finger (the only thing you may rush is to register the domain once agreement have been reached). Its better they take the work elsewhere, than to work and no pay. Also clearly state the days/weeks it will take to get your balance once its completed (don't over hand over logins before getting your balance). I believe there is room for everyone online.

Cheers!

Bros stop tempering with the "EVIDENCE"! The fact is Presido said in April that by June in his words "Boko Haram will be a thing of the past" - But he failed.

He sacked Azazi and get the new guy that collected Boko Haram members phone numbers and organized a tea/coffee sessions for them and Presido to have a chat room.

I always tell those drumming hatred and segregation in Nigeria to be careful. Nobody will find it funny (with gunshots, bombs, jets, protests, rioting, stealing, destruction, and other crimes that will follow if this nation disintegrates).

The only solution are:
- For our Leaders: To do simple things right and cut down on their greed - what is good for the north is good for the south. And that given to the south should also be given to the not. The little we have as a nation show be distributed to every part of the nation. Those how commit crime should be punished and not reward (irrespective of where they came from).

- For citizens to elect competent leaders with plan and vision. While remaining law abiding.

With those this nation will just be fine - even if we do not make it to be among the best in the world.

Really I have always wonder what drivers/car owners say when:

- Someone hit their car (and that person is at fault)
- When you mistakenly hit somebody's car.

What comments have you said or heard (especially when its not too serious)?

I admire very social individuals - I wish sometimes I could just be like them.

But fact is I enjoy being on my own (all by myself). Eat, stay or work. I do not have problem having people around (friends or enemies), but when am on my own - their will be no arguments, lousy discussions, insults, someone spoiling my gadgets or provocations.

The only 3 things special about Tinubu being officially invited by the DNC and actually attending include:

- PDP thugs here told us; if Tinubu near US embassy let alone visit USA that he will be locked up.
- Tinubu is there having fun, why Jona is here chewing cassava bread
- And finally, seeing Tinubu there, jealousy is squeezing the life out of PDP sycophants on NL

- Jona's expense in tour de world
- Feed expense
- Bribe money
- PDP delegate bribe money
- Subsidy stolen funds (imagine a less than N500b was budgeted in 2011 for subsidy, but he spent nearly N3trillion - How/where did he get the over 2trillion from - how much have been flowing through that channel?)
- Report on all money given to Aso Rock visitor.

Jonathan Angry Over Leakage Of Patience's Illness

President Goodluck Jonathan is said to be angry about the leakage of information concerning the sickness of his wife, Patience.
Investigations by Punch Newspapers in Abuja on Tuesday indicated that the President and those closed to him had planned to keep Mrs. Jonathan’s trip “a top secret.”

Mrs. Jonathan is presently in Germany, where she was said to have undergone surgery for ruptured appendicitis. But the Presidency had denied that the President’s wife was ill, saying that she was only resting abroad.

No return date yet for First Lady -Presidency

AS controversy continues to trail the absence of the First Lady, Mrs Patience Jonathan, from the country and her health condition, the Presidency has indicated that no date has yet been fixed for her return.

When pressed for an update on her matter in Abuja on Tuesday, the Special Assistant on Media to the First Lady, Ayo Osinlu, said he had no idea yet on when she would return to the country, as he was not in the position to find out.

Even though there had been no official statement from the Presidency on her situation, Mrs Jonathan was reported by an online medium to have been flown to Germany to undergo treatment for food poisoning.

Presidency sources had only explained that she was taking a long overdue rest, following her gruelling schedule during last year's general election and the recently concluded African First Ladies’ summit, in Abuja.

On Tuesday, Osinlu maintained that he had nothing new to add to the information he had given out a few days ago to a national daily but dismissed as lies, various online reports which had claimed that the First Lady was airlifted to Germany for medical check-up.

Even though Osinlu had confirmed that the First Lady was abroad, he, however, insisted that she was there to rest and not to seek medical attention.

When pressed further for details, the First Lady's spokesman insisted that he could not be forced to speak, saying: "Nobody is going to put a gun on my head and force me to talk when I have no fresh information. My position is not different from what I told Daily Trust".

Asked to speak on the possible return date of the First Lady, he said: "I don't know. I don't have any information on that. You don't expect me to call her and ask her, ‘when are you returning?’ Is she my mate? Ours is to ensure everything is in order to receive her once her return is made known to us. I do not have fresh information on that."

While accusing the Nigerian media of relying on online reports, he declared: "I can tell you authoritatively that the First Lady was not lifted by any air ambulance to anywhere. All those things are lies.”

dmitroika: thats not a fact yet you know? But you could say his chances might be slim..
That was very true. Almost all the speakers (except his wife were either saying something about themselves or attacking Obama - but not "endosing" or "approving" or saying why Romney was a better candidate.

Poll: Mitt Romney speech has low impact
Americans scored Mitt Romney’s GOP convention speech the lowest since Bob Dole’s acceptance speech in 1996, according to a Gallup Poll released Monday.

Following the Republican National Convention in Tampa, 40 percent of voters said that they were more likely to support Mitt Romney for president, compared with 38 percent who were less likely — a net impact of +2.

This is lowest net impact for a convention going back to 1984. By comparison, the 2008 GOP convention featuring Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) was +5, and that year’s Democratic convention nominating Barack Obama was +14.

Meanwhile, Mitt Romney’s acceptance speech received the lowest marks since Bob Dole’s in 1996: 38 percent of respondents said that Romney’s speech was “excellent” or “good.”

That figure is lower than McCain’s in 2008 (47 percent), Obama’s in that same year (58 percent), Bush’s in 2004 (49 percent) and Kerry’s that same year (52 percent).

Here is Abati on the issue. He did not denal the Ambulance in his response. And read his lame excuse and include his name among the spin doctors.

The special adviser to the president on Media and Publicity, Reuben Abati has denied reports indicating that the First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan was indisposed and flown abroad for proper medical attention.

While responding to reports which emanated from an online news platform, Abati said the story “was a rumour and there is nothing like that”.

According to reports from the first lady’s spokesman, Ayo Osinlu, Dame Patience Jonathan did actually travel abroad, but she was only away to take a “moment’s rest” given that she has not taken a rest since President Jonathan’s election last year.

“If you look at her itinerary in August, you will be wondering how she was able to accomplish that. In the course of this week she will be back home. But remember, it all depends on her plans,” he concluded.

In earlier reports, the first lady suffered from food poisoning and was transported in an air ambulance to Wisbanden in Germany for proper medical attention.

His prompt response to the widespread speculation is intended to put the rumour to rest but observers remain skeptical about the quality of information emanating from the seat of government.
