slamstanlee: I experienced those wayo fuel attendants at mobil lekki road. Yesterday i was mostly getting card payments and fuel was so low. I managed to gather 2k, used 500 to eat then drove straight to buy fuel with 1500 remaining. The guy already sold 2 litres for keke marwa and didn't reset it. I was just watching him as he dispense in my tank. When he was done. I ask him why didn't he start from zero, why from 2 liters...? Guy started claiming nonsesne... I just told him, you have 2 options, fill in the remaining 2 liters or call me ur manager. Else i wont allow u sell to another person.
Him advice himself jeje.... |

And if the bolded is your line of defense, then please, don't say anything more abeg
101% of people caught have their drivers license with them. LASDRI is a law by the Lagos State government. Your "Federal government" should have abolished it when they formed it naa we all know federal laws supercedes the states when there's a friction. The state laws becomes null and void |

woodrow: Like a typical Nigerian politician u didn't answer the question..lolz
Thank God you said it by yourself that u were hustled.so I cant borrow my friend's car and travel to Lagos anymore? You panicked and they made money out of you. You already have a drivers license issued by the federal republic of Nigeria, the highest authority, behind it it is clearly stated that you are licensed to drive a car other than a motorcycle or articulated vehicle.
I wont say more than that very sound |

izzou: LASDRI is for drivers, and not vehicles. I don't understand what you mean by the bolded
LASDRI is for professional drivers. That's the purpose. And according to them, you'll be regarded a driver as long as you don't own the car(If the name on your drivers license is different from the name on the vehicle particulars)
Maybe I was hustled, and maybe you're right. But like I suggested, go to their office and make enquiries.
And besides, LASDRI died in 2017 after Ambode kicked them out of the road. I don't understand what you mean by "issued in the past three years" lol,if lasdri is dead, why is their office at Oshodi still operational? Why ask me to go there? They're are open everyday of The week. I mentioned my truck because it's a commercial vehicle with red plate no. Well it's no big deal getting one. It's a stipend of #3000k. |

izzou: Before Ambode sent them to oblivion , I have done LASDRI twice and I have never driven for a company, or a commercial vehicle. LASDRI started in 2015
Anyways, if you doubt, you could drive into their office at Oshodi to confirm whenever you're around.
I know wetin i dey talk I've been issued lasdrii for the past 3years for my light truck, and know what's its for. I made enquiries. it's possible you were hustled.this is Lagos bro.get your facts right.its for company drivers and commercial vehicles |

Whether blue plate or red plate untrue. its meant only for company drivers and commercial vehicles. not private vehicles |

donshaddow: Mmmmm, was inside shoprite in circle mall trying to get a rider. Up until around 9.03pm got a rider. Got to the exit and was told I'll pay #300 cos it's flat rate after 9pm. There were 2 rider going to the estate just behind circle mall. The trip was #500 and I paid #300 for car park. Was so downcast I had to blow empty to Ipaja. Got to Anthony and I request came in from oshodi going to Ikola. The trip was 2k and rider forgot his phone. Had to meet up with him halfway to give back phone and was tipped 1k again. All things works for good my brother. This is strictly a taxi business. Don't expect much, when request comes just take it, and if it doesn't just go home and rest. All days are not the same. God bless our hustle. Blessings bro. Nice one |

pope191: I'm not the type dat reason one way, I play around with thoughts till situation gives the perfect view, taxify or uber are not wicked, they have a data base they work on, so once supply is more than demand they reduce price, at the end who bears the burnt? For them, more cars more money as long as demand is reasonable enough (for every drivers cry of no trip, another drivers r sharing the few once and they commission is still at moderation). So reduction favours them as long as they don't reduce their %, can't u see uber is fast taking the space of byke wit 350 trips, where rider we tell u she's going to Akerele from Adeniran Ogunsanya (I was like, seriously? )
Either metaphor or not, the chances of reducing the price is high, right now they r drivers parked somewhere checking dia app often, staring @ 4 trips 2700 since morning, dis can make one appreciate danfo drivers/ keke rider more... There is really nothing uber/taxify can do, cos if with this price, ppl still can't afford the service satisfactory, little traffic, rider starts feeling unease, the worst scenario[b] if things don't pick up in the next four months, they will b decline in driver - partner business, as owners will b force to drive or join the fence gang sadly inevitable bro.the situation will be brought about by drivers themselves, bit they just don't realise it now |

But like you said..we gats hold on to the positives to maintain sanity..
Better days ahead. thats the spirit bro. Take the gain with the pain |
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by eherbal(m): 11:05am On Mar 14, 2019 |
gobuchinny: True bro, the pay is not realistic and ridiculous...it's below par esp considering the facts as stated above...I experienced all these when I was driving..there have been times while driving I felt silly..u can imagine driving longer distance to pick rider only to drive short distance to drop off ..esp island..the ones that just wanna go buy food two streets away or use the atm or wanna go c their friends in the next street ...even me as a rider I no get mind request uber for silly short trips...and if I ever do I make sure I pay the driver 1k for that useless 350 or less than 500 naira trip...ALWAYS..
There was a time i carried a rider, a long distance trip I can't recall the exact pick up and drop off but u know those trips u r on and you just dey smile like mehn I don hammer, i go close after this trip..when I ended the trip and saw the fare my jaw dropped...d rider even noticed my surprise and I saw how she smiled...she didn't add anything instead wanted her change...when she left tears welled up in my eyes..I just weak...I couldn't even drive again I just closed and blew empty to my house depressed and defeated vowing never to driver again...next morning I was out again driving
But as hard as it was and as ridiculous the fare I never took it out on my poor riders nor insulted uber yes i complained esp to my wife and friends but not trying to run down their business...I knew it was slavery. ..that the real winners were the e hailing companes and riders..the drivers were just scrapping....but that's their business model and didn't force anyone to accept it or drive..so if I must drive then I get with the programme... yes these guys are task master and I can only blame the drivers because noone is acting..the few guys that tried to act by striking the support base was poor...try and read up about uber strike in other countries..that's the PVC of the drivers..the only power they have..,hence the importance of that union which many guys here castigated...
For me, my mind set was just keep driving and feeding my family, work hard and yes this driving business is hard work...your back will pain you...you hands will become heavy even for any veteran but at least it puts food on the table. ..uber should never be a permanent hustle, that's y stories like those of nitigriti inspires me and should inspire any driver also...
See its the same attitude we carry into our own grind or other job opportunities...things will never be perfect or our tables served...in everything let's just be grateful
I'm not against lamenting as this is a driver forum..its OK to vent but not the way some guys go about it here like it's a totally hopeless situation...there is hope
Much respeck bro i used to think i Was The only one in this dilemma. Though you'll never See Me complain or biitch on the experience of this hustle, but bro I've seen things. I've blown all the way from ojuelegba to Cele to pick a rider to ago palace way, on a treacherous road, for #400 . But then they're beautiful days too that I was tipped #15k for a #2000 trip, by a very young rider . I closed early on Sunday after hitting #19k within 8hrs . Just went to hangout with a friend I've not seen in a long time. The hustle comes with it's highs and lows, but the complaints won't change anything. The perks comes with the territory. Just hold the positive thoughts, and pray feverently for a breakout or breathrough,or whichever comes first. God bless and keep everyone. May the hustle not be in vain
