Kobicove:Well it only points to the fact our common enemy are those who make it impossible for the majority to have access to good education and other basic amenities. I have said it before the politicians and policy makers are not fighting themselves as their common interest (looting) is being met. As long as there is money to be stolen they will never fix our nation that is a fact! |
JingoOAU:That is the kind of country we live in where the rich and powerful have ganged up against the poor and weak. They are looting and killing us but instead of us to ask questions we are either being a terrorist, a militant, political thug or agitating for the country to be split into fiefdoms and sizeable holdings for this same heartless rogues. |
Bankers are also involved in corrupt acts, as they don’t carry out due diligence.’’ No mind Banks if na poor man them go bring out all their due diligence and KYC before u remove one kobo. |
9jatatafo:Yes an electrical engineer will be good to be minister of power but then again a ministerial job is not a technical one to the core. There are electrical engineers in the ministry to assist him on the technical aspect of the job. What we need are sincerely motivated people who will get the job done for us as a nation pulling on their different background of knowledge. |
9jatatafo:Fashola is not the problem of Nigerian power failings. The bitter truth which must be told is that just like everything else that has gone wrong with our nation due lack of management and investment in existing infrastructures, the power sector suffers from the same problem. Successive government have bundled and fumbled with it until just like the petroleum sector it is now a monster any new government wants to run away from. If all the monies we have read and heard about these past years have really been invested in power generation maybe it wont be as terrible as it is today. The day we fix power in Nigeria (hopefully in my lifetime) then our nation has indeed turn the curve. We have sunshine and water and there is gas yet we cannot do it (smh) we really are a unique people. |
greatiyk4u:This is what we have been reduced to bickering and arguing about whose name should be on the list and how the money should be more or less. We must as a people understand by now that these squanderers of our common wealth are not partisan and ethnic drawn when it comes to what they believe in which is looting. We must all be objective and with one voice condemn these people and their act. If tomorrow a new government takes over and decide to probe only APC chieftains as long as they are guilty of the crimes they are accused of so be it. Only God can serve justice in one swoop humans cannot so the call for Obasanjo, Atiku, Tinubu and who ever else is considered guilty to be tried by the government should not take away the fact that a good thing has started in the form of fighting corruption. |
sharks776:A fact established a long time ago! And we are hoping for something good from them. There are a lot of issues facing us as a people and someone is proposing institute of chartered politicians smh. One will think former governors being executive head at the state level will come to the house with appreciable knowledge of the daily lives of Nigerians and make bills that will be positively impactful. |
modath:That is exactly the point. Our politicians are word charlatans and at every given stage or opportunity will say anything that they perceive as trending. If Atiku believed in true Federalism he should have been talking about it all through his political career which has been a long one. |
WebSurfer:I totally concur as for very obvious reasons the program has outlive its usefulness and should be revamp or scrapped all together. There is no sense in asking someone to serve a country for one year with no provision for survival other than the monthly stipend which can not sustain the average nysc participant for a month on feeding alone. Talk more of Housing and Transportation plus other necessities. |
Ciscogod:Every state should have a law prohibiting the government and firms from owing workers salary beyond a month. It is not fair to expect workers to survive and still come to work without their salaries paid. Only in our country when the going is good you will not enjoy it and when it gets bad one is reminded of how difficult the situation is. |
TPAND:Which government institution is functional? They are all in a bad state which is reflective of the nation at large and the blame is for every successive government since independence. One will say privatize everything but then again what is governance if everything is privately own and run. We have unfortunately not been blessed with a charismatic leader yet and given how long we have ruled ourselves independently one begins to fear we never will (sighs). |
KillerFrost:Nothing works because those who are suppose to make sure it does are all about their selfish interest. A nation with leaders without national pride and honor. We are indeed in serious trouble. |

Please I will like to find out if anyone has ordered and received University Transcript via ETX-NG. And if so how reliable was their services? |
Dem go talk finish go house go sleep. |
Frank3n2:Terms and condition yes I read them and I did not call off the policy or surrender. I only stopped saving with them and duly waited for the policy tenure of 6 years to elapse before asking for my money back. Whatever the administrative charges accrued I still do not see the rationale in almost halving what I had saved. Like you advice I have taken it in my stride and moved on. I just wanted to share my experience and hopefully deter others from making same mistake I made. |
Agbaletu:The annoying aspect for me is the fact that I was getting less than I invested after retaining my money for 6 years!!! If you are not adding a penny at least give back the initial capital. Imagine the difference in value of 140K in 2011 compared to 2016. |
My story started in 2011 when I decided to partake in an Individual Savings and Protection Plan (ISPP) by Mutual Benefits Life Assurance Ltd. [img][/img]I decided to contribute N20, 000 (twenty thousand naira only monthly) and did so for most of 2011 till December of same year bringing the total amount contributed by me to N140, 000 (One hundred and Forty Thousand naira only). Due to personal reasons I could not continue with my monthly contributions and wanted to withdraw my money saved but was told by the agent I will be duly penalized for not continuing for at least 36 months. As a result I decided to wait till the full tenure of the policy which will be 2016. Fast forward 5 years later 2016 in April (15th) I was at the mutual benefit office to sign for my money withdrawal and was told to expect a discharge voucher which came via email on the 25th of April 2016. To my outmost dismay, of the N140, 000 I contributed according to the voucher sent to me I was going to be given back N85, 832.88 after 6 years of waiting to get my own money back! I immediately called one of their numbers hoping it was an error but was told that is the money due me as the savings plan has an element of insurance to it and that also I did not save consistently for the 6 years the plan was in place hence there are charges accrued which have been duly deducted from my suppose savings!!!. I have attached copies of what I saved and the discharge voucher I was sent for people to see as I do not think it is fair. I have learnt my lesson the hard way and will like to use this medium to advice others to stay away from Mutual Benefits Individual Savings and Protection Plan (ISPP) as it is not drawn up to provide any benefits to participants. |
themosthigh:The last time I check from Lagos to Calabar except by air one must pass through several states: Ondo, Edo, Delta, Imo, Rivers, Akwa ibom. It is a laudable project given the potential it has to boost connectivity of goods and persons and reducing eventual cost of commodities and transportation. If we must grow as a country accessibility is key and no government worth its talk should think otherwise. http://www.total-facts-about-nigeria.com/image-files/537x484xnigerian-map.jpg.pagespeed.ic.L4jG_bT0mQ.jpg |
Petrol prices to go up by FIFTY PER CENT in Saudi Arabia after the nation suffers record $98billion budget deficit for 2015 - [b]but it still only costs 16p per litre! Whether we like it or not we have to compare with other countries producing same oil. In Nigeria something do not add up somewhere. |
Senators can afford to make statements like this because constituents do not recall them. Supporting Saraki is one thing but saying you will sink and swim with him is uncalled for as your loyalty should be to the people who voted you first before any other thing. Make dem Kwontinu. |
it is high time we all start taking interest in governance as we are all stakeholders. Nigerians have to be pay critical attention to laws and policies being passed by those in government. It does come across as unfair for someone to hold a political and elected office for 4 years and afterwards be placed on pension for life. But then again going by the pension law of the state he has not committed any crime receiving the pension. We can only fault him if he was getting more than approved by the said pension law. Our leaders are selfish and we must be very watchful of their actions as once these selfish policies are made laws there is nothing you and I can do other than to pray someday a Moses will tear them down. #A people deserve the leaders they get#. |
As much as I appreciate your love for Akwa Ibom State everything else you have said is not factual. The situation in Akwa Ibom is not different from any other state in Nigeria from poor infrastructures to electricity. |
Until Nigerians wake up to the reality that things will not change unless we stand up against bad governance no matter who is in charge we will not find our way as a nation. We have been docile too long and that is why simple things become complex in our country. No electricity, No Fuel, No Job, No education, No Food, No Roads, No Water etc. Na only us carry come? #A People deserve the leaders they get indeed holds true# |
When are we going to accept what the truth is about our country that the problem is not One Nigeria but our leaders and elites who have always been selfish and visionless. The average Nigerian from whatever tribe is not having it easy but yet we choose to blame it on Nigeria being one. Waiting for the day we acknowledge what the real problem is with our country for only then will we get it right. |
Nigeria is blessed with too many thieves making it true that a people deserve the kind of leaders they get. |
A friend of mine while discussing told me the airline(Arik Air) he used to work with before retiring did not pay his pension fund contributions for over 24 months even after deducting same from his monthly take home over the same period. On retiring from the same airline he is yet to get his severance package after 2 years and counting. There is so much wrong with our country my people and it is totally sad how the poor and weak is continuously exploited and nothing is being done to fix that by successive governments. The last time I check there was a pension act setting up the pension fund administration in Nigeria. It therefore beats me how companies can not be reprimanded by the government for falling to remit pension contributions of their workers. God save our country o. |
Hang in there and make your plans for the future. |
Iceking1:You did not vote Buhari because if you do it is too early to ask for Jona's forgiveness. |
Shollypopzz:Before stomping the palm fruits are cooked so they are not strong as you presume. The feet is to make processing faster otherwise you can also use a mortar and pestle. |
The adage hold true any day. Patience can be long or short but you must exercise the right quantity befiting any task you are involve in to succeed . |
