Fatima Ahmad had urged public
Institutions to seek alternative
funding due to the recession, he
also adviced institution to increase
the level Information
Communication Technology, as the
World had move from a normal
class to a Digital class.
He said, "Resource constraint is a
challenge we are facing. However,
the reality for now is the effective
and efficient management of all
resources available –human,
material or financial. I would also
want to urge you to come up with a
framework for funding tertiary
education to augment the statutory
sources which are not adequate.
This is critical because education, as
we all know, is a critical nexus in the
development process.
“With the present drive for global
comparability and harmonisation of
tertiary education qualifications, ICT
deployment is a must feature in our
educational institutions. The current
deployment is low and most
education officials lack ICT skills.
“There is also a shortage of ICT
personnel across the nation. Issues
of broadband and power outages
are constraining factors that
government is trying to address.
However, we must look out for
alternative support because
government cannot do it alone.”
The issue of alternative funding was
also stressed by the Senate
President who was represented by
the Chairman, Senate Committee on
Education and Tertiary Education
Trust Fund, Jibrin Bala, who pledged
the support of the Senate to making
laws to further assist the education
sector.

On January 20, immediately after Donald Trump’s inauguration, the Obama family moved to a rented apartment after spending eight years at the White House. The Obamas don't own a house till date. Also, Obama paid for groceries from toothpaste to toilet papers and dry cleaning from his own pocket. Even the family vacation was not free. Similarly, after the ceremony, Joe Biden, Obama’s deputy, carrying his own brief case, took the famous Amtrak Acela Express train to get back to his hometown Wilmington. Poor people! Aren’t they?

Incredible examples of personal integrity by two highest ranking office holders of the sole superpower; Biden held public office for 43 years following his first election to the Senate at 29. Nearly 35 years in the Senate and eight years as the Vice President yet he couldn’t afford to pay for the expensive cancer treatment of his son anymore. And who was the son? The Attorney General of his State of Delaware. He also had been an Iraq war veteran before becoming the Attorney General. But the cancer treatment ate up all his savings. Then came his father to the rescue. But even that was not enough. And just when he planned to offer his house for sale to mobilise funding for the son’s treatment, President Obama loaned him funds from his personal savings to prevent him from selling his home. Biden himself recounted this before a TV audience with tearful eyes. Unfortunately the son died but not after the father had given all his best.

Neither Obama nor Biden boast tonnes of money, multiple houses and fleet of cars, escorted by massive security after all these years at top posts. And with heads held high, they walk out of their official residences to rented homes and public transport. The less said the better about politicians in NIGERIA

It is really very disheartening because it goes a long way to portray that the government of a nation can hardly take care of its own.
It means they are not capable of taking care of the younger generation since they can owe the pensioners (our old papas and mamas), civil and public servants. (Our parents in active services) and now the Corpers (future leaders and youths of our generation)
Tell me, how do we go forward? Anyway, God will always take care of his own.

This is the peak of irresponsibility. As the Governor I believe you're responsible for the looks and action of your security aids. This can only happen in Drug cartel countries (Venezuela) where their could be HIT operations at any point and security aids are protective of their image in case of reprisal. Why has this man decimated the state to this level? God Bless Kogi State and May God Bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

This is absolute shame. Is the govt saying that there's no money?
May thunder strike any govt official that will open his or her mouth to say that.
For christ sake, we nd every other countries had 4 years to prepare 4 this. Look at where we are less than one month to go nd we expect medals. If these guys shld even give us a single medal, then they are heroes. Infact, going to the olympics like this make them heroes already, win or lose.
