forevermine: Oh nothing of the sort but I was just briefing my sister who lives in Maryland about the MIHS pricing and the whole thingy but she says I should be doubly sure before I commit myself cos she's heard most of these hospitals/centres that appear cheap/affordable are sort of like boarding houses- those were her exact words. Where pts r crumped up and all. Of course I'd have loved to give birth in MD where she is bt I'm tryna save costs, as the price ranges she's told me are over the top( she had a baby in august last year n her bill ws close to 15grand). So js wanted a reconfirmation/new update on MIHS pricing/bill, as in is it all-encompassing,are u allowed to bring ur tests frm naija/will they be accepted? Etc...

I have taken time to read through the entire thread and I must say I've learnt quite a lot. thanks 2 evryone 4 der various contributions. I currently have a b1/b2 visa which I applied for alongside my colleagues who were travelling for a meeting in the states. was given the visa on grounds that i was also attending the meeting with them. i do not intend on travelling with them but only obtained it cos of my intention to birth in the usa later this year. from all i've read so far, i assume i have to email the embassy to let them know of my intention to trravel but for a difrent reason ie to give birth and no longer the supposed meetin right? p.s the qstn of wda or not I am pregnant or intend to give birth in the states never came up so I didnt declare though I was about 4 months preggy at the time. I really dont want any poe issues ooo.

i'm due same time as my sister in law who's in the uk and we bth intend to travel to the states to have our babies. i was gna tag along with the elpaso team but my sis is bent on using maryland. tho its more expensiv than el paso, we have a family friend there who has offered to accommodate both of us, and since she is married to my elder brother i guess they have the final say, so maryland it is. my qstn is this: has anyone used any hospital in maryland in recent times? if so, can u pls refer same to me alongside the prices and all? so far i have seen holy cross silversprings with a total bill of 7500 and anr prince george hospital which is evn mor expensiv. herd holy cross is good but i just found out its a catholic hospital. am not catholic so am not sure i'll be comfortable using the place.. any other suggestions pls? i will be travelling in september and need to start getting all necessary documentation together from the hospital, paying the bills, etc.

in the entire thread i think i saw just a few posts on maryland hospitasls and they seemed pretty old. a more recent experience will be greatly appreciated.
