@eilenora When your TRV is approved you will be given a visa only for the duration of your first program on the conditional acceptance, after that you will have to re-apply or extend while in Canada. So if your diploma is three months you will be given a three month visa, once you complete it you would have to re-apply. I was told that and also confirmed it on cicnews. Re-applying would mean submitting financial documents and application documents again. If you are not in a rush, I would personally suggest you apply for a different program in a different school that will give you direct admission (unless you have searched and didn't find).

Are you applying via paper or online?

imm 5409 - is applied to people who have a registered relationship in the government, if you are single, it doesnt concern you.

imm 5476 - is for when you used a representative (agent)

imm 5483 - is your checklist for your application

imm 5485 - is for people applying to settle in canada

imm 5945 - is for visitors visa and hence doesnt concern you

Wow you don't have a lot of time, pm me though, I emailed you the templates you asked for. You are pressed for time so I suggest you hit the ground running. If you are in Lagos, go do upfront medicals at The Childrens Practice Consultant. It's at Ikoyi and if you get there on time, they can attend to you within a few hours. You can do it first thing tomorrow morning because they attend to clients 8-10. Also have you actually gotten admitted and have you started processing the certificate of acceptance? 20 days is quite sometime if you have not started processing it. It would mean that you can't submit your application till the end of the month or in July. Which is not enough time in my opinion, though some people get their application processed within a month, but that's just a handful of people. That's something you have to decide if you can risk.

I think it is safer your tuition is paid. Since she has her pension and other accounts in good shape. Paying the tuition settles the question of if you are really going to school there and it validates your mom's other documents as legit. That's my opinion on that.

If you have been admitted, what was the condition of your acceptance. The documents you would submit also depends on whether you are applying via paper or online.

All the documents you have listed are adequate for your application. I don't think you would need anything else, for anything you might even need to submit less. You don;t need to submit the data page of your siblings if you are submitting their birth certificate. Your affidavit most be notarized in a court and signed by your mom.

So far, your application seems to be in good shape, let's know the what you studied and what you gotten admitted to study. Then your travel history, depends on where you traveled to could also be a plus for you. If you have been denied a visa you should remember to note that too.

@eilenora It shouldn't be difficult. What you can do if possible is to pay part of your tuition because yes that will reduce the total amount you have to show. Remember you need to show $25,000CDN. $15,000CDN is about N4.3m. $10,000 CDN is about N2.8m. Which means you need to have a statement of about N7.1m minimum. If your cousin can pay your tuition that would reduce what you have to show to N2.8m. However, you can transfer to your mom's account but be careful because embassies in general are always suspicious when bulk money comes into an account just before a visa application. You would need to properly explain, your mom that is and with proof. Since she has dependants, you will need to show a little bit more cash in the account, a safe range would be N8m.

In your sponsorship letter it is important your mum briefly mentions that she has two dependants, who are eg. in school and that she is capable of looking after them as well as you.

What was the condition stated on your offer of admission?

Also, land documents don't really count as proof of financial capacity. They serve mostly as home ties if it is yours and as a proof of guarantee if it's from your sponsor, basically it shows that he/she is settled.

Pls advise, for finances mum is sponsoring. She has about 4m in her acct, 1.3m in a 2nd acct, about 9m in pension statement, 3 landed properties. My cousin wants to sponsor me but the relationship is too distant. Thinking of either she transfers the funds to mums account and we package it as proceeds from the sale of 1 of her properties, or she simply pays for my tuition with it,, this will reduce the burden of proof on mums statement. Wot do you think?

Also i have 2 siblngs as mums dependnts.

Then also my conditional admission is 2 do a 3mnths diploma 1st then proceed to MSC. Both tuition equals about 15000 CAD. Pls advise.

Also from the information you have shared I can sense some of the reasons why you were denied.

1. N2m is already less than $10,000 CDN at the current exchange rate, that alone does not cover your living allowance much less your school fees. Then again, you have dependents who technically are your financial responsibilities. N2m is not nearly enough to show that you can cover all the necessary needs in Canada and at home in Nigeria. At the current parallel market rates of N285 to $1CDN, you need to show at least N6m on your part (I am assuming your school fees are over $10,000CDN) and then another N2m or more to cover the expenses on your dependents here in Nigeria. So you have to look at a statement of roughly N9-10m to be on a safe side. Farm and hatchery documents are cool but they are not strong pillars. The Canadians care more about liquid cash than property.

Share more light on your situation and I may be able to share further insights.

This Dr. Tate I hear he allows residents do his patient's delivery. I checked him out on Healthgrades...and Emory too didn't have good reviews for their Obstetrics dept. Not to scare you but do your research well. Had my child 2 years in Northside and that place is the best so far, as far as child delivery is concerned in Georgia.

I used an external Obgyn called Dr. Tates. His charges were 1400. He is a Director on the board of Emory Hospitala nd very respected there. He was cheaper dan usin an Obgyn from the hospital.

Hospital fees was 3900 for natural and 5900 for C.S. but these charges are discounted, if paid well ahead of time.

I used Dunwoody Paedetrics. I paid $105.

Epidural was $425

Obgyn accepted my tests from Naija but other additional tests done cost $300


birth certf cost $20

Nign visa cos $350, they were having issues with printing passports and I was pressed for time so did a visa instead even tho it was mre expensive.

I got accommodation using air b n b.

Your best bet is a birthing center if you are looking at spending below $6K. Most birthing center fees start from $4,000

However, this is the current price for some hospital excluding doctor fee, pediatrician fee and epidural.

Sinia Hospital - Virginal Birth for 2 nights is between $7k to $9k, while nursery cost about $600 per night ( they give 2% discount)

Franklin Square Hospital - Virginal Birth for 2 nights is $10,000, you pay $220 to see a provider for each visit and you pay $1,300 for initial/commitment fee. ( they give 1% discount)

Mercy Hospital - Virginal Birth for 2 nights is $8,600 ( they give 2% discount )

Saint Agnes Hospital - Virginal Birth for 2 nights is $7,800 and $12,000 for C-section ( No discount)

University of Maryland Baltimore Washington - ( they give 2% discount to cash paying patient)
Virginal Birth without epidural - $4,238.64
Virginal Birth with epidural - $5,298.30
C-Section Delivery - $6,534.57
Nursery for Newborn per day - $857
Room & Board per night - $1,692

Virginia State gives up to 20-25% discount and its very close to Maryland. Maybe you can look at that city.
