fergie001: Ok now you know, an Appeal Court judgement on 13/1/25 dismissed the appeal of the APC in the APP issue thereby validating the consequential orders and sack of the LG Chairmen.
Please comment on this....
As you know the recent judgement of the AC supercedes the last one and logically invalidates the APP victory
callthefred: Actually governor Adeleke is a terrible leader. PDP has a good case and knowing that SC is a constitutional court, there's no way APC would have won because if they do, it simple means a governor can give notice of 24 hours and conduct elections. Even same thing Wike is clamouring that 3 people cannot be lawmakers in a state, if all these nonsense are allowed a governor will one day govern with 1 lawmaker. PDP should just have filed an appeal to SC knowing even that LG funds still comes through states, those APC rats won't get a kobo. Nulge had even tactically supported the govt by asking all staff to stay away.
But as a clueless leader, Governor wanted to show himself and played into their hands by having PDP supporters face them. Now ApC are aware that PDP also has thugs and I know lots of PDP boys will be arrested and detained till after election next year to cripple PDP. Honestly, Demola messed up on his first serious leadership test. Patience is not weakness. Let them occupy empty buildings without staff and allocation. No one will tell them to desert the place. Can Oyetola fund LGA for the next 2 years? Where will he see such money.
fergie001: So you are not aware of another Appeal Court Judgement that upheld the sack of the Yes/No Chairmen/Councillors?
I am only aware of High court judgementt separately in favour of PDP and APP.That of the PDP has been set aside by an AC .The AC judgement has vacated any similar judgement on Osun LGS election organised by Oyetola
fergie001: Nothing was subsumed, it was clear from the judgement that Issues 3 & 4 were academic and the Judges will not venture into it.
Who allowed them? What happened to the APP judgement?
it is clear that the existing judgements on the legality of the Osun LGS election were vacated by the AC. Who will now logicall return to Offices ? APC of course. Their election has been validated. Three is no need for any other declaration. In order words expecting any declaration is just an academic exercise. From the judgement APC must return to offices. That is what happened today. The AC judgement has superceded any APP judgement. It is there an academic exercise to waste time on it..
press9jatv: CTC of Appeal court of justice judgment @ejimatic @fergie001
i Issue 3 and 4 are subsumed in 1 and 2. With the setting aside of the existing judgment on Osun LGS it means the APC executives must return to theit offices. There is no need for any declaration again. The last part of the appeal judgement sum it up by saying the appeals are meritorious. I am not surprised to see that they are allowed to return today.
fergie001: This should have been the pathway before the attempted forceful takeover.
ejimatic press9jatv, Hope Osun is peaceful today?
I pray the 22/2 LG elections holds peacefully.
I agree with you in totality . Neither Adeleke nor Oyetola went out on Monday.People were exposed to sudden death in order to claim ownership of the LGs. The Saturday's election may be marred with violence even when APC is not participating . '
I am not a politician but the judgement is in favour of APC. The party prayers were four that were subsumed in one another. If the first two were decided In favour of APC, the remaining two were also in favour of the party. The last sentences sum up the judgment. The appeals are meritorious and are allowed. That means all the prayers of APC were accepted, They are still the rightful owners of the LGs.
The APC.prayed for 4 things. that are subsumed in another. Tne first two issues are in the last two issues. Since. the AC declared that it is illegal to dissolve all the APC LG executives it means they are still in power until they finish their tenure. The AC declared it is an academic excersise to make any declaration for the last two prayers since they are in the first two prayers. By implication the APC LG are still in power until the end of their tenure. The last sentences in the judgement sum up the pronouncement of victory for APC. The appeal is meritorious and allowed That is the truth that PDP is twisting.
I am.not a politician but I am just explain the meaning of the judgment.
florianwirtz: I need to know if there's any hope of studying abroad with a second class lower qualifications. My parents intend to send me abroad to further my studies but I'm worried now because of my qualification. They don't know yet and I still don't know how to inform them.
Akpakomiza2: Even the pdp spokesman isibor admitted that those 19 witnesses were useless to them and that they are depending on documentary evidence via section 137 of the EA2022
. Many people do not know how the Election Tribunal operates. Because of 19 witnesses all the results In the contested 133 poling units will be canceled? Do they even have probative values? We shall see!
GistMedia0: A shocking case has emerged involving a 100-level 19-year-old female student who allegedly attempted to poison her lover with Sniper, a deadly rat poison, in a bid to steal his car, phones, laptops, and other valuables in Ekiti.
According to reports, the suspect poured Sniper into a bottle of table water and offered it to her target. Her plan was to kill him, take his belongings, and flee. However, her scheme was uncovered before she could execute it.
What makes this case even more disturbing is that she had meticulously written down her plan in a coded "To-Do" list, by February 2.
A source provided interpretations of the cryptic notes:
"Get a P" = Get a poison.
"Learn how to D" = Learn how to drive.
"Take two P & L & D" = Take two phones and laptops and drive.
"><> to help finalise" = Allegedly a code to complete the plan.
"Buy the P by morning" = Buy the poison by morning.
The word "Herbalist" was also spotted in a corner of the list, possibly hinting at another sinister aspect of the plan.
There are women who kill their husbands after they have helped them raise their children. The women alone will be enjoy the children having sent their husbands out of existence. This one belongs to them .A future husband killer in the making.
Nothing will change the outcome of the election. All I have heard so far lack probative value .Even if there are usual irregularities, how do they affect the results of the election? Did the analyst give a full result of the election in his analysis?
I am not an APC member and neither am I interested in the matter. It will however be difficult to overturn the results of the election.
Babangidapikin: Would he have done that without his lawyer's advice?
Those lawyers misled him. I think they knew the truth and advised that he should not enter the Defence Box so that he would not worsen the case with his uuuterances especially since Femi Falana was there as the Prosecution Counsel.
Babangidapikin: This guy might need Chief Wole Olanipekun to do a Pro Bono for him ...If he is not in the hotel when the incident happened as claimed, how come they are wrapping him in all this. You better change your lawyer ...
. Adedoyin pleaded not guilty and refused to enter the defence box to prove his claim. All the other accused persons claimed he was the behind the killing by ensuring that the incident was kept secret. They even took an oath of secrecy to make it confidential.
The Osun judge used all the circumstances surrounding the case to sentence al of them to death.
The biggest mistake he made was that he did not enter the defence box when all pointers were on him.
"Failure to enter the defence box means he agreed to the charges".The lower court ruled The judgement is in order. The AC today concluded that the lower court judgement is proper and is in order .
