On Wednesday, 26th day of March 2025, the House of Representatives passed an additional 42 Constitutional Amendment Bills for second reading.

This makes a total 81 Constitution Amendment Bills passed for second reading this week. These bills have subsequently been referred to the Committee on Review and Constitution for further legislative action.

The solemn words "Rest in peace" which are commonly used in referring to the dead originates from the latin prayer "requiescat in pace" meaning "may he or she begin to rest in peace (Amen)".

Unknowingly to many, each time we say "may his or her soul rest in peace" we are actually offering a prayer for the dead which is not biblical.My answer is No!

The bible never teaches that we should pray for the eternal rest of the dead as some religions do.

Once a person dies, they face judgement from God (Hebrews 9:27) and their fate is sealed eternally in heaven or hell. (Matthew 18:9)

The only prayer we can offer for the dead according to scriptures is the prayer of resurrection. (2 Kings 4:32-35, John 11:43-44, Acts 9: 40-41)

In such cases, divine judgement is suspended and the dead are given another opportunity by God to miraculously live again in fulfillment of their destinies.

We don't pray to God to forgive the sins of the dead or repose/rest their souls.

Offering prayers for the peace of the dead are rooted in heretical beliefs in 'purgatory'_a temporary place of purification until one is fit to enter God's presence.

Personally, I have always doubted the use of "rest in peace", because it's not scriptural to pray for the peace of the dead.

But to we that are alive, what's the meaning of life like Solomon pondered? (Ecclesiastes 1)

The whole essence and meaning of life is to please God; we are purposely created to please Him most especially through faith, praise and worship. (Revelation 4:11)

No matter what you are or have, life is meaningless and miserable outside pleasing God.

To live fulfilling lives on earth and to ultimately make heaven, our lives must be well pleasing to God:

📖 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

This is what Batists now use in consoling themselves. SDP will only be taking APC's traditional votes away from the APC (especially in the North). In order words, any vote for SDP will be a net minus for APC. Atiku's PDP votes are intact and Obi's LP votes are intact irrespective of party. Elrufai made many Northerners vote APC in 2023 but not anymore. Even Northerners against Elrufai today only chastise him in an "I told you so, but you didn't listen" kinda way. In the end, he'll be treated like the prodigal son who has returned home. The North will unite for a final onslaught on APC.

Why is it difficult to stop this practice? Could it be they share the money with their superior officers who send them out as some people claim? Some claim DPOs give returns to ACs who also give to CPs and on like that. Could that be the reason why the police officers on the road collect money from travellers even students for no reasons? What is happening in Nigeria?

Ok now you know, an Appeal Court judgement on 13/1/25 dismissed the appeal of the APC in the APP issue thereby validating the consequential orders and sack of the LG Chairmen.

Please comment on this....

Actually governor Adeleke is a terrible leader. PDP has a good case and knowing that SC is a constitutional court, there's no way APC would have won because if they do, it simple means a governor can give notice of 24 hours and conduct elections. Even same thing Wike is clamouring that 3 people cannot be lawmakers in a state, if all these nonsense are allowed a governor will one day govern with 1 lawmaker. PDP should just have filed an appeal to SC knowing even that LG funds still comes through states, those APC rats won't get a kobo. Nulge had even tactically supported the govt by asking all staff to stay away.

But as a clueless leader, Governor wanted to show himself and played into their hands by having PDP supporters face them. Now ApC are aware that PDP also has thugs and I know lots of PDP boys will be arrested and detained till after election next year to cripple PDP. Honestly, Demola messed up on his first serious leadership test. Patience is not weakness. Let them occupy empty buildings without staff and allocation. No one will tell them to desert the place. Can Oyetola fund LGA for the next 2 years? Where will he see such money.

Nothing was subsumed, it was clear from the judgement that Issues 3 & 4 were academic and the Judges will not venture into it.
