PoliticsRaid On Yahoo Boys: EFCC Should Also Face Buhari – Reno Omokri by Ekiti360(op): 4:10am On May 13, 2018
Reno Omokri, former aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan has reacted to the arrest of suspected internet fraudsters in Ikoyi by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

Reacting, Omokri said the anti-graft agency should be after Buhari who became president by allegedly tricking Nigerians with ‘fraudulent promises’

He further stated that not everyone who lives a lavish life at clubs is a 419er, even as he expressed support for the clampdown on fraudsters.

The former presidential aide on his Twitter page wrote: “EFCC arrested Yahoo boys at Club 57. But isn’t Yahoo obtaining by trickery? Buhari obtained the @NGRPresident by trickery.

“He gave Nigerians fraudulent promises he never intended to keep such as ₦40 fuel and making ₦1 equal to $1. EFCC should face Buhari, the real Yahoo Man!

“I wholeheartedly support the clampdown on financial crimes, but it should be made clear that not everyone who lives large at a club is automatically a 419.

“I hope the raid on Club 57 was based on intelligence and not just arbitrary. It is not a crime to be rich and ostentatious.”

PoliticsYour 10-year-ban Against Fayemi Has No Legal Strength - Falana Tells Fayose by Ekiti360(op): 7:43am On Jan 18, 2018
Nigeria’s senior lawyer, Femi Falana, has stated that the 10-year-ban issued by Governor Ayodele Fayose against his predecessor and current solid minerals development minister, Kayode Fayemi, cannot stand the legal of time.

Falana, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), said in a statement in Lagos, he said: “In the case of Atiku Abubakar v Attorney-General of the Federation, the Supreme Court held that only a court of law has the power to disqualify and ban a Nigerian citizen from holding public office in Nigeria.

“So, the apex court set aside his disqualification from holding public office via a White Paper, which was endorsed by the Federal Executive Council (FEC).

“A similar ban placed on Malam Nasiru El-Rufai by the House of Representatives was also quashed by the court.

“To that extent, the decision of the Ekiti state government to ban Dr Kayode Fayemi from politics cannot stand the test of constitutional validity. If Dr Fayemi challenges the ban in court, he is likely to have it quashed and set aside.

“However, as a serving minister in an administration that is fighting corruption, Dr Fayemi has a duty to respond to his indictment by the judicial commission of enquiry, which probed the finances of Ekiti state under his watch.

“Alternatively, he may pray the court to annul the report. But he cannot afford to ignore the findings of the panel.

“Since Dr Fayemi chose not to appear before the judicial panel, he has to explain his own side of the story to Ekiti people.

“This is in line with the principle of public accountability enshrined in the Freedom of Information Law and Fiscal Responsibility Law enacted by the Fayemi administration,” the statement read.

Ekitidefender earlier reported how the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti state told Governor Ayodele Fayose that he lacks the power to bar his immediate predecessor, Fayemi, from office as he recently did by slamming a 10-year-ban on his political life.

According to the APC, only the court can place such a ban on the minister just as it added that the white paper which indicted Fayemi is a demonstration of executive recklessness by Governor Ayo Fayose.

In a statement through the spokesperson of the APC in the state, Taiwo Olatunbosun, the party said the verdict would not stand because of what it called the illegality that went into the exercise.

SportsPay Me As High As Messi Or I Leave, Ronaldo Tells Madrid’s Bosses by Ekiti360(op): 6:10pm On Jan 17, 2018
Real Madrid’s Portuguese superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo, has reportedly told his bosses at the Santiago Bernabeu to pay him as much as what his arch-rival, Lionel Messi, earns at Barcelona.

He threatened to leave if he was not paid as much.

According to reports from Europe, the 32-year-old talisman demanded a whopping £17m pay rise that will increase his earnings at the La Liga and UEFA Champions League reigning champions to £35.5m.

Reports claimed Ronaldo is frustrated by Real president, Florentino Perez’ refusal to offer him an improved contract after he was promised one when he helped Real to a La Liga and Champions League double last season.

Ronaldo signed a five-year deal in November 2016 that will see him stay at the club till 2021.

He has also been linked with a return to Manchester United.

Jobs/VacanciesAdekunle Ajayi: Man Rejected Offers In Shell & Chevron To Live & Work In Ekiti by Ekiti360(op): 5:46pm On Jan 17, 2018
Please read this STORY!!!

On Sunday 14th January, 2018, a big Uncle, Adekunle Ajayi called on phone to tell me a story:

"My brother, how are you? Am sorry, I know I have offended you but I will pay my fine whenever we see"

I have a good news for you, I am now the CMD of FTH, Ido-Ekiti.

"Wow!", I said.

He continued:

"Its like a miracle to me. I saw an advert in Punch Newspaper last year, calling for application for the position of Chief Medical Director (CMD) of Federal Medical Center, Ido-Ekiti and I applied.

"22 of us, including the Acting CMD applied. However, 18 of us were shortlisted for interview. We sat for a very rigid aptitude, oral and computer tests.

"Alas, the Minister of Health recommended the THREE people with highest mark to Mr. President to pick ONE from.

"Fortunately, I scored the highest MARK but unfortunately, I do not have anyone to lobby for me.

"When I saw the rate at which people were lobbying, I gave up.

"But last week, I got a phone call that I was picked on MERIT. I didn't lobby anyone, I didn't call anyone, God did it. I got it on merit."

What a mighty God we serve!!!!!

I join all lovers of Merit to Congratulate this dutiful, hardworking and Principled Adviser of Mine as he resume today as CMD, Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido-Ekiti.

Meanwhile, Uncle told me a story before he dropped the call:

"I rejected appointments at Shell and Chevron in Lagos to accept an offer in Ado-Ekiti about two decades ago. I also rejected a juicy offer at OAUTH to remain in Ekiti. My instinct told me I will reach the pinnacle of my career in Ekiti and here I am today. I was the youngest among other the applicants"..

Congrats once again, Dr. Adekunle Ajayi, an Ekiti Man that doesn't take NO for an answer!!!

PoliticsEkiti 2018: Stay Away From FUOYE, Groups Warn Politicians by Ekiti360(op): 4:22pm On Jan 17, 2018
The Coalition for the Advancement of Ekiti State, COAED, and the Federal University, Oye Ekiti Chapter of the Ekiti Students Union have warned politicians in the state not to drag the institution into the political conflicts attending the contest for the governorship seat of the state.

The groups in separate statements in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, said there is an ongoing politicisation of academic activities at FUOYE.

“FUOYE is one of a few federal institutions in Ekiti State and it behoves on all of us to join hands with its managers to realise their vision of turning this school into a world class institution,’’ Gbolade Oguntomole, the Executive Secretary of COAED said.

“It is disheartening that politicians from Ekiti, rather than look for ways to assist FUOYE to grow fast, have been more interested in using elements in the school to score falsely procured cheap points.’’

The groups said they were moved to intervene following allegations that the university was operating an anti-Ekiti agenda by replacing Ekiti workers with others from Ogun, home state of its Vice Chancellor, Kayode Soremekun.

The President of the Ekiti Student Union in FUOYE, Akomolafe A.F., said his members joined COAD in dissociating themselves from the allegations against the Vice Chancellor as it is false.

“To put the records straight, we are certain that while the Vice-Chancellor is from Ogun State, the Librarian, Dr. Gboyega Adio is from Oyo State. The Acting Bursar and her husband are from Oyo and Osun States respectively and the Director of Administration, Mr. O. Odusanya is from Lagos State and not Ogun State as alleged,” he said.

“The Deputy Vice-Chancellor is from Ogun State, but is married to an Ekiti woman. Meanwhile, it should be noted that the Deputy Vice Chancellor was overwhelmingly voted for by a Senate whose membership is largely drawn from Ekiti.

“It is also instructive to know that we have seven Faculties in the University namely: Faculty of Agriculture, Arts, Education, Engineering, Social Science, Science, Management Sciences and the Postgraduate School. Five of these faculties are headed by Deans who are indigenes of Ekiti State.

“They are: Prof Rasaki Bakare, Prof. Alabadan, Prof. Adebitan, Prof. Omolayo and Prof. Oladele. It is also a fact that 58 per cent of the workforce, (senior staff alone) hail from Ekiti State. Therefore, the issue of marginalisation of Ekiti indigenes as stated by these shadowy groups does not arise.

“We believe that this inaccurate information is the handiwork of a fifth columnist and enemy of the advancement of the young institution.

“Our hope lies in the fact that, Ekiti indigenes are more enlightened to appreciate the rule of law and the process of appointments in Federal institutions.’’

PoliticsRowdy Session As PDP Senators Prevent Colleague From Defecting To APC by Ekiti360(op): 1:04pm On Jan 17, 2018
The Nigerian Senate, on Wednesday was thrown into a rowdy session as it was about recording the first official cross-carpeting for the year 2018.

Senator Sonni Ogbuoji (Ebonyi South) had come under order 43 of the rules of the Senate to announce his official defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Members of the PDP and APC didn’t allow Ogbuoji to finish when the floor was thrown into rowdiness, with the APC Senators dragging the new defector to their wing while PDP lawmakers scampered to rescue him to their wing.

Having brought the floor to decorum, Senator Ogbuoji, in a twist of event, announced that he was withdrawing his earlier announcement.

“I came under order 43 with the intention that I needed to make some declarations this morning. But my party, the PDP felt I had not consulted with them enough.

“So, because of the love they had shown to me in the past, I’m stepping down my decision to decamp”, Ogbuoji declared.

Responding, the President of the Senate, Dr Bukola Saraki who presided over the plenary, did not object to the withdrawal of statement of defection.

He said, in line with our rules, we cannot debate on this. But, Senator Sonni, I’m going to keep the whole day for you, in case you wish to come under order 43 again and perfect your defection,” Saraki said jokingly.

PoliticsEkiti State Govt Denies Cloning Workers’ Voter Cards by Ekiti360(op): 7:56am On Jan 15, 2018
The Ekiti State Government has explained that it is not collecting voter cards from workers in order to clone them.

It said the voter cards were collected from beneficiaries of loan as a means of identification.

The Commissioner for Information, Youths and Sports Development, Mr. Lanre Ogunsuyi, stated this in response to allegation that the state was cloning the voter cards after collecting them.

He said, “It is not true that government is cloning workers’ voter cards. What we are doing is an empowerment for the workers which is optional because nobody is being compelled for it.

“The loan is optional and somebody can look at the conditions attached and such a person can opt out if he or she is not satisfied with the conditions.

“The reason why women are asked to bring their voter cards is that majority of them don’t have driving licence, national identity card or travel passport and their easy means of identification is voter card.

“Nobody should read any negative meaning to the good intention of the government to empower its citizens. No card is being cloned anywhere.”

An interest group in the state work force, the Enlightened Workers’ Forum, had queried the collection of voter cards before workers could be given loan.

The group in a statement on Sunday by its state Coordinator, Mike Bamidele, stated that women civil servants were the first set of beneficiaries of the loan scheme as the men would soon take their turn.

Travel10 Most Popular Yoruba Cities In Nigeria by Ekiti360(op): 5:17pm On Jan 14, 2018
Comprising majorly of people who live in the South-West, the Yorubas originated from Ile-Ife in Osun state. While the majority of the Yorubas live in western Nigeria, there are also substantial indigenous Yoruba communities in Benin, Ghana, Togo, the Caribbean, Cuba, Jamaica, Brazil, Trinidad and Tobago among others. Lagos, Ibadan, Abeokuta, Ijebu-Ode, Akure, Osogbo, Ado-Ekiti, Ilorin, Sango Otta, Ife are the most popular Yoruba cities in Nigeria. Want to find out the culture and lifestyle of these cities, read on.

10 Most Popular Yoruba Cities in Nigeria

1. Lagos

Being the commercial hub of West Africa, Lagos is the most popular Yoruba destination in Nigeria. It is also home to other tribes in the country that seeks for greener pastures as there is a good blend of people from other cultural backgrounds. With popular streets such as Bode Thomas, Allen Avenue, Isaac John, Ozumba Mbadiwe, Adeola Odeku and a host of others, the city boasts of most of the elegant buildings in the country. A teeming increase in its resident has made the city a very competitive and boisterous one. Creativity, innovation, and excellence are the main core of the city as it aims to rank as the best megacity in the country.

Living in Lagos is great. Although, many residents complain about the standard of living in the city without considering some exceptional reasons why living in Nigeria’s most productive state is a blessing. A lot of business opportunities, fun spots and unique local foods that will make you want to live in this city.

Many of the popular Yoruba culture and respect seems to have ebbed away with modernization in this city as the need to be seen as a civilized person has taken the front seat. Although the Eyo masquerade festival is still celebrated by the true indigenes of the city.

2. Ibadan

Aptly described by J.P. Clark as a running splash of rust and gold-flung and scattered among seven hills like broken china in the sun, Ibadan is the third largest city in Africa comprising mainly of the Yorubas.

Communal living is not so much displayed in this city although, the adjoining towns close to it still do. Ibadan is known for its food delicacy – Amala (yam flour) with gbegiri or ewedu soup.

Housing, feeding, and transportation in Ibadan are cheaper than that of other major cities in Nigeria; making it one of the best places to live in the country.

Taking a family vacation to the city, here are some fun hangout spots in Ibadan: Ventura shopping mall, University of Ibadan Zoo, Trans Wonderland Amusement Park, Ibadan Recreational Club, Game World among others

3. Abeokuta

Translated to mean ‘under the rock’, Abeokuta is the largest city and state capital of Ogun State in southwest Nigeria. The city lies below the popular Olumo rock and is home to several caves and shrines.

Usually held in Abeokuta, The Ake Arts and Book Festival founded by Nigerian author Lola Shoneyin was named after The Ake, the traditional residence of the Alake. It is an annual literary, cultural, and art event that takes place in the city. Irrespective of modernization, the people of Abeokuta still hold their culture and traditions so dearly.

Home to Nigerian Nobel Prize-winning author, Wole Soyinka, has a breathtaking beautiful scenery with hills and valleys. Kuto, Owu and Olumo rock are very popular areas in Abeokuta. Transportation in Abeokuta is major via taxi cabs with rates that are not so expensive. For a popular city, the absence of cinemas and malls may not be very encouraging to outgoing tourists. However, there are several cool hangout places, fun spots, and clubs.

Living in Abeokuta is affordable and easy as it is not a congested place. So you don’t have to worry about traffic and a high standard of living.

4. Ijebu Ode

Ijebu ode , the second largest city in Ogun state after Abeokuta, is the home to the Yoruba ethnic group who speak the Ijebu dialect of Yoruba. Migration, civilization and inter-tribal marriages have made the general Yoruba language popular among folks as opposed to the local dialect.

The city is the trade center for farming regions where yam, cassava, grain, tobacco, and cotton are grown. It is a popular myth among Yorubas that the Ijebu people are stingy and not liberal. The Ijebus are known for having a very active social life as they often throwing one party or the other.

5. Akure

A great need to preserve the cultural heritage of the Akure people led to its historical monuments being housed in the palace of the traditional ruler commonly called the Deji of Akure. Showcasing the colourful and energetic cultural display of the city, the Egungun Festival is a popular one used in entertaining people.

Most of the luxury hotels and restaurants found in Ondo state are specifically situated in Akure.

6. Osogbo

Popular destinations in Osun state are Osogbo , Ilesa, Ile-Ife. Most of the houses here are new and the usually have large living rooms. Rental fees here are also very affordable.

9. Ado Ekiti

Surrounded by hills and rocks, Ado Ekiti is a city in south-west Nigeria, the state capital, and headquarters of the Ekiti State.

Unlike other indigenous Yoruba cities, Christianity and Islam are the main religions practiced with only a few traditional worshippers in the city. One of the features that make the people of Ado-Ekiti unique is their tendency for communal living and practice of the monarchical system of government while still embracing modernization.

In contemporary times, western education had been the vogue throughout Ekiti. Ado-Ekiti took the lead with the number of educational institutions. The progress made in Western education, cultivation of food crop and of economic trees, as well as the establishment of commercial ventures, brought great profit to Ado-Ekiti. Various commercial enterprises operate in Ado Ekiti. The city is the trade centre for a farming region where yams, cassava, grain, and tobacco are grown. Cotton is also grown for weaving.

With a stadium capacity of 10,000 and a third division professional football league team, sporting activities are encouraged in the city.

The city is known for Pounded yam and Egusi as its local delicacy.

10. Ilorin

Otherwise known as the City of Lawyers, Ilorin is the largest city and the official capital of Kwara State.

Although the city retains a strong Islamic influence from the northern incursions, Christianity is now widely practised in the city due to the significant immigration of people from other parts of Kwara State and other parts of Nigeria into the city. Peace and harmony are the unique features of the city as it is a conference of cultures, populated by Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo, Fulani, Nupe, Baruba, other Nigerians and foreign nationals

The popularly practised profession in Ilorin is the legal profession as the majority of the top legal professionals in Nigeria either practised in Ilorin or have an affiliation with the city.

Having hosted several national handball competitions, the city accommodates the only standard baseball court in West Africa. A 20,000-capacity stadium and two Premier League professional football teams (the Kwara United Football Club and Abubakar Bukola Saraki Football Club) shows the abundance of interest in the world of sports. Esie museum, Mungo Park Cenotaph, Pategi Beach, Owu Falls, the Emir’s Palace along others are the must-see sites for anyone touring the state.

Endowed with adequate vast and rich agricultural land for both road and exportable cash crops, the commercial life of the city is quite impressive. Cheap rates for transportation, housing, consumables with little or no crime, makes living in Ilorin attractive.

PoliticsEKITI 2018: I Have No Regret Backing My Deputy – Fayose by Ekiti360(op): 7:45am On Jan 14, 2018
As the crisis over who picks the governorship ticket continues to rage in the Ekiti State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Governor Ayo Fayose has insisted that he has no regret backing his deputy, Kolapo Olusola, to succeed him as the next governor of the state. He, however, added that in spite of his endorsement of his deputy, a primary election would still be conducted by the party’s national leadership to determine the PDP governorship candidate.

The governor spoke during an interactive session with teachers at the Government House, Ado-Ekiti, the state capital, on Friday. Fayose said other aspirants who are up in arms against him for adopting Olusola would have been singing another tune if he had extended same gesture to any of them. “I have no role to play, only the NWC will conduct the primary to elect the candidate. So I won’t interfere despite my support for Prof Kolapo Olusola.

“I have no regret supporting Olusola. If it were those people I had supported, they won’t be abusing me. But they remain our brothers and sisters and we are going to put our house in order at the right time so that we can be on the same page,” Fayose said.

This was just as a PDP chieftain and former Commissioner for Public Utilities in the state, Deji Adesua, contended that Fayose has no right to impose Olusola on the party as governorship candidate. He said the resistance of some senior party figures against Fayose’s alleged imposition bid is a legitimate one, describing the governor’s alleged dictatorial tendencies as a “tragedy that has befallen Ekiti of our generation.”

Similarly, some other PDP governorship aspirants addressed a news conference during the week where they urged the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party to disqualify Fayose from playing any role in the primary expected to hold in April. The aspirants include former Minister of State for Works, Prince Dayo Adeyeye; Senate Minority Whip, Senator Biodun Olujimi; former Ambassador to Canada, Chief Dare Bejide and former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Owoseni Ajayi.

RomanceWhy Women Hate To Date Broke Guys by Ekiti360(op): 8:10am On Jan 13, 2018
Apparently, women have come to the conclusion that broke dudes don’t deserve to be in a relationship. While this might seem a little harsh, these women have their reasons for taking such a stand. Obviously, broke guys aren’t okay with this position, and their rich brothers are showing their support in solidarity.

As a woman gets past her teenage years, she begins to have a more realistic perception of life, and this affects her taste and expectations in men. As a teenager, a woman tends to be more attracted to good-looking guys and those with a swag for days.

But as she advances in age, she realises that good looks and swag can’t be used to buy things in the market or collect money in the bank. She becomes aware of the importance of money and tries to ensure that she’s well covered in that area.

Let’s take a look at some reasons why most women hate to date broke ass dudes.

1. Lack of financial security

A woman wants to feel secured in finances. While she may truly love a guy, she wants to be sure that he’s capable of taking care of not just her present needs but any emergencies that may arise. She doesn’t want to lack the basic things in life especially when there are guys out there who can give her those things. Wanting financial security is far from gold-digging. A broke guy can barely take care of himself let alone someone else. If she chooses to be with him, she’ll have to “manage” most of the time, and managing is a thing most women detest. Why manage when you can have more?

2. No romance

As the popular saying goes: “There’s no romance without finance.” When two adults come together to have a relationship, it takes more than love for them to have a good time. Even the greatest of love stands the chance of fading away without romance to keep the fire burning.

When a guy is loaded, he’s better equipped to be romantic. He could take her on vacation, give her surprise presents and sweep her off her feet by performing a romantic magic that only money can afford. When the inevitable challenges in relationships come up and she begins to have doubts about being with him, he could reset her brain by splashing money around in his romantic antics.

3. He’s so predictable

Dating a broke guy is like a routine chore – it can be boring to the point of choking you to death. It’s the same thing every day. You can tell what he’s up to because he doesn’t have the resources to do otherwise.

At first, she could try to get along with it in the name of love, but after a while, it becomes unbearable. Being broke limits a guy’s performance in a relationship. Even when he has all the creative ideas to spice up the relationship, there isn’t much he can do because his bank account is nothing to write home about.

PoliticsEkiti 2018 Poll: We Are Ready For Fayemi, APC; Says Fayose by Ekiti360(op): 8:27pm On Jan 12, 2018
UEkiti State Governor, Chief Ayodele Fayose, has said he and his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are ready for the Minister of Solid Minerals, Dr Kayode Fayemi and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the July 14 governorship election in the state.

Recall that Fayemi’s posters had flooded Ekiti since Monday with his loyalists urging him to join the gubernatorial race.

Ekiti State Governor, Chief Ayodele Fayose during a meeting teachers in Ado Ekiti today

Speaking in Ado-Ekiti on Friday during an interactive session with heads of public primary and secondary schools in the state, Fayose in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Idowu Adelusi, the governor said Fayemi lost in 158 out of 177 wards and in all local governments last time, adding that he would record a more woeful result this time around.

“I thank you for your support and the feats recorded in the sector are because you are working hard and supporting our administration. You are the reason why we are doing well. You stood against the Philistines on June 21, 2014 and we defeated them in all the 16 local government areas.

“Let Fayemi come and contest and test his popularity. It is him we need. He is now advising Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna State to sack teachers and saying that they must be tested and sacked.

He is saying that the test is in the right direction. We have not changed the teachers and we have moved to number one in NECO, WAEC examinations. We won’t sack teachers in this state, you all know that you would have been sacked had Fayemi won the poll brought me back” , he said.

Fayose also disclosed his intention to empower 50 women per ward with N20,000 monthly and that he would incorporate 500 women teachers too.

However, among the women teachers, 650 would be those in primary schools, while 350 would be those in secondary schools.

The beneficiaries would have to go for data capturing, as the money would be paid into their accounts.

On the disparity in the salaries being owed workers at state and local government levels, Fayose said the six months the Federal Government gave Budget Support facility to the state government helped it to pay more salaries.

He also promised a more glamorous Women Day celebration this year.

In his remarks, the Chairman, Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Ekiti State, Mr Olugbesan Olusegun, thanked the governor for the priority given workers welfare in the state.

Reacting to the release of 2019 election timetable, the governor said he has not withdrawn from the 2019 presidential race in spite of the fact that the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) had zoned the ticket to the North.

Fayose said : “I am still in the presidential race I am only waiting for the time Ekiti governorship election will hold so I can have the time.

Though, I am making contacts, I am reaching out to the people that matter across the country”.

Fayose said he decided to soft-pedal on his campaign because of the July 14, 2018 Ekiti governorship poll, saying the campaign will begin to gain attention after the state election.

On the agitations of some PDP aggrieved aspirants that Fayose should be prevented from interfering with the primary , the governor assured that the state has no role to play in the shadow election, saying it remains the prerogative of the Chief Uche Secondus-led National Working Committee.

On the primary election in Ekiti, Fayose said: “I have no role to play, only the NWC will present the delegate lists for them to elect the candidate, so I won’t interfere despite my support for Prof Kolapo Olusola.

“I have no regret supporting Olusola , if it were those people I had supported, they won’t be abusing me. But they remain our brothers and sister and we are going to put our house in order at the right time so that we can be on the same page”, Fayose added.

Addressing the teachers, Fayose appealed to them to support Olusola the way they did to him in June 21, 2014 governorship election, where he defeated Dr Kayode Fayemi.

He promised not to owe the teachers a dime at the expiration of his tenure on October 15, 2018, saying 1000 teachers will begin to benefit certain financial benefits from him commencing from the end of this month to give them a sense of belonging in his government..

“Don’t vote for those that will come here and sack you. When they sacked your colleagues in Kaduna State, an APC leader in Ekiti said it was a right step in the right direction and I believe such person is not good for Ekiti teachers.

“Prof Olusola is a man of integrity, very hardworking and dependable, he won’t betray you. He will protect your interests and I want you to support him”.

Some aggrieved PDP aspirants like; former Minister of Works, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, Senator Biodun Olujimi , Owoseeni Ajayi and Amb Dare Bejide, had at a joint press conference on Monday advised Secondus to checkmate Fayose and ensure that credible primary is conducted in Ekiti.

Fayose added that all the outstanding salaries , allowances , bonuses and pensions shall be paid before he finally bows out as a governor.

He also prayed that the governor would leave office without owing workers any salary.

PoliticsNigerians Back Fayose’s Hunter Herdsmen Decision by Ekiti360(op): 8:11pm On Jan 12, 2018
NIGERIANS have thrown their weights and applauded the Governor Ayodele Fayose’s decision to empower hunters in combating Fulani herdsmen menace in Ekiti State.

On #TribuneChat forum, a weekly discussion programme on social media, Nigerians opined that he took the right step, saying; the police are full of excuses.

One of such people is Facebook’s Sunday Joseph who is of the opinion that “The Police have always been involved in late coming into the show. The Police always come for fake investigation when the deed has been done if you haven’t noticed.

“Any Governor who wants to protect his people will think twice and think of how the people will protect themselves. After all, Fulani herdsmen and farmer attack are classified as a communal clash. Do you want Ayo Fayose to wait and see another ‘communal clashes’ in his state?”

Victor Tomi Olaseni further buttressed Joseph’s point, stating vividly that “Federal Police is a waste in this country. State police could have prevented the massacre. I applaud Fayose’s move. If I were Benue Governor, I will arm my citizens to defend themselves and return back to the farm. When your enemy has what you have, they will think twice before staging attacks.”

Mumeen Olawale Ibn Imran opined that “Governor Fayose took the right step and made a very reasonable decision. I’ve opposed him in many ways but on this I support him.”

Felix Yohanna thinks “Fayose is not a coward to use herdsmen’ sympathisers against them following the IGP’s comments after Benue massacre.”

According to the reactions, many are of the opinion that the police are part of the herdsmen owing to the fact that most of the top security officers are Fulani people. One of such commentator, Job Emmanuel Oseni shared his view. “He is 100 per cent correct because the so-called Fulanis have something to do with the security agencies in Nigeria. So the best way is self-defence. More grease to your elbow the people’s Governor.”

Nestor Godwin explained that “Since Police IG including army Chief Buratai are Fulanis and supporting the Fulani herdsmen’ murderous attacks, every right-thinking Governor should recruit vigilante/hunters like Fayose to checkmate and fight the dangerous activities of these herdsmen.”

However, some of the reactions condemned the move.

Ahmed Ismaila said: “My Advice to Mr Fayose…if things get out of hand in Ekiti as it did in Benue do not blame the FG but your thoughts and actions…as for those of you supporting and instigating Fayose to go ahead….may God touch your hearts and minds to start thinking.”

Odebiyi Kolawole opined that “With the comments above, I am short of words concerning the POLICE.”

Politics2019: I Have Not Withdrawn From Presidential Race – Fayose by Ekiti360(op): 7:23pm On Jan 12, 2018
The Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, yesterday insisted that he has not withdrawn from the 2019 presidential race in spite of the fact that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had zoned the ticket to the North.

Fayose said he decided to soft-pedal on his campaign because of the July 14, 2018 Ekiti governorship poll, saying the campaign will begin to gain traction after the state election.

The governor added that he would repeat a resounding victory against Dr Kayode Fayemi if he is picked as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), saying he is not threatened by his rumoured ambition.

On the agitations of some PDP aggrieved aspirants that Fayose should be prevented from interfering with the primary, the governor assured that the state has no role to play in the shadow election, saying it remains the prerogative of the Chief Uche Secondus-led National Working Committee.

PoliticsEthnicity, Religious Crisis May Destabilize Nigeria – Clerics Warn by Ekiti360(op): 9:57pm On Jan 04, 2018
Prominent men of God in Ekiti State and Islamic clerics, have warned that the country may end up being destabilized if it fails to fight the canker-worm of ethnicity and religious crisis that are pummelling the nation.

They appealed to the government of President Muhammadu Buhari to stand its ground and curtail those threatening the sovereignty of the Nigerian nation, by fanning the ember of religion and ethnicity.

The President, League of Imams and Alfas in the Southwest, Edo and Delta States, Alhaji Jamiu Kewulere, the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Ekiti chapter, Pastor Rotimi Orikogbe and a man of God, Pastor R.O. Oso , said these in Ado Ekiti on Thursday during an interdenominational service held by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ekiti state.

The CAN boss lamented what he called senseless killings in Kwara, Benue and Rivers State on the eve of the new year festivity, where scores were killed in the midnight attacks.

He said these horrendous killings of innocent Nigerians didn’t portray Nigeria as a country that is united , the way it was supposed to be.

“Our value system had degenerated and that is why you see people , particularly politicians hiding under ethnicity and religion to perpetrate evil.

“Our situation has degenerated to a level where issue of national interest were being fatally wounded by these two issues that hadgained traction in the minds of our people.

“When issue that was supposed to be handled frontally were being discussed and culprits dealt with, you see our elites reading ethnic and religious meanings to it and this is very bad.

“That is why I am tasking the new NUJ Exco in Ekiti to be united and love one another to be able to make progress. Don’t allow money to influence your positions , because you are the mirror of the society”,

he advised.

The chief Imam advised the federal government to put machinery in motion to ensure that every Nigerian can exercise their religious and political beliefs wherever they live without fear of molestation.

“We thank God that religious and ethnic problems are not prominent in Ekiti. All the religious leaders interrelated freely in Ekiti State.

“Myself, the Chief Imam in the entire south and our Bishops and.clerics are good friends, this is the way we want our people to behave all over Nigeria.

“It is wrong and not in the interest of Almighty Allah for people to kill in the name of religion. Allah is our creator and he won’t be happy when people were killed indiscriminately”, he said.

The NUJ, Ekiti Council , Mr Rotimi Ojomoyela, promised that he would commence a process of reconciliation to placate those who felt aggrieved about the outcome of the union’s election held last year December.

SportsEkiti To Upgrade Sports Facilities In 2018 by Ekiti360(op): 12:59pm On Jan 04, 2018
Mr Lanre Ogunsuyi, the Commissioner for Information, Youth and Sports Development in Ekiti, on Thursday assured youths that all outdated sports facilities in the state would be upgraded in 2018.

Ogunsuyi gave the assurance in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ado-Ekiti.

According to him, some of the training equipment in the state’s stadia are outdated but the state government will try as much as possible to upgrade them.

He added that inadequate funds had affected and hindered the government from refurbishing and repairing some of the sports facilities.

The commissioner explained that the available funds were used to pay civil servants outstanding salaries and pensions.

Ogunsuyi said that the football pitches in Ikere, Ijero and Ikole Township Stadia would be repaired and put into good shape to be available for sports activities.

The commissioner noted that the proposal on how the sports facilities in the state would be upgraded had been included in the 2018 budget.

“ I want to assure youths in Ekiti that we are working towards upgrading all our sports facilities in the state without any further delay.

“My ministry and sports council management have written a proposal which have been included in the 2018 budget; we are only waiting for the approval of the budget.

“We have started planting grasses on the football fields in Ikole, Ikere and Ijero stadia and a maintenance team have been set up to keep the arena in good shape,” he said.

Ogunsuyi appealed to notable sponsors, individuals and organisations in Ekiti to assist and join the state government in reviving and improving grassroots sports in 2018.

He noted that some individuals and associations and traditional institutions had shown interest to partner with the state government in sponsoring football competitions.

Ogunsuyi urged others to emulate these good intentions and encourage the youths to embrace sports.

The commissioner, however, warned all the youths to shun cultism because it is a punishable and a grievous offence for anybody caught in the act under the newly passed law of Ekiti state.

He said that, henceforth, the state government would not tolerate any forms of killings, rioting, violence and harassment in the state university and other state owned colleges.

PoliticsEkiti 2018: APDA Attacks Primate Olorunshola Over Prophesies by Ekiti360(op): 12:08pm On Jan 04, 2018
The Young Leaders Forum of the Advanced Peoples Democratic Alliance, APDA YLF, has denounced a prophesy credited to the founder of the Christ Gospel Church of Nigeria, Primate (Dr.) Nathaniel Olorunshola, claiming that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will win the gubernatorial election in Ekiti State.

The forum’s national spokesman, Chief Olusanya Atofarati, in a telephone interview yesterday, said if there is any party with better chance of winning the forthcoming election, it is APDA.

He also said the time has come for clergymen to start exonerating God in unleashing unrealistic guess work .

“It is politically naive of anyone to think the PDP will win Ekiti governorship election. The bitter truth here is that the PDP is enormously empty. It has lost contact with Ekiti people. Government scholarships and employments have become ‘once upon a time’. Do you expect any local contractor, civil servants, students, pensioners and even the PDP members who are groaning in poverty to hail the PDP-led government? Definitely not,” Atofarati said.

The forum’s spokesman further said, “the lies they sold to Ekiti people have back-fired and destroyed them. So, except those who are now only popular on the pages of the newspapers, they are no longer sellable.

“It is regrettable that today, Ekiti people’s stomachs are now fully ‘infrastructured’ all over the media while grave hunger is the people’s trademark in reality. APDA will take over the government in 2018.”

The group, however, urged the National Executive Council (NEC) of APDA under the chairmanship of Malam Mohammed Shittu Kabir, to intensity efforts in ensuring the holistic distribution of Data Capturing Machines to the 16 Local Government Areas of Ekiti State to ease traffic at the state’s registration centres.

This, according to it, will consequently boost the membership drive of the party across the 171 political wards of the state.

PoliticsAfter Politics, I Want To Become A Pastor – Governor Fayose Declares by Ekiti360(op): 8:45am On Jan 04, 2018
Gov. Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state has said that after retiring from politics, he would become the pastor of a “very big ministry”.

He said his next target after leaving office is to become the president of the country after which he would go into full-time ministry, stating that his “popularity” and “influence” would serve him in achieving his ambitions.

He said this during an interactive session with some reporters in Lagos.

“There is nobody reasonably who doesn’t know who Ayo Fayose is and the decision to me being president is spiritual and physical on the other hand because when your time comes, it will manifest,” he said.

“I am a force God has created at this time. When I retire, I’m going to become a pastor with a very big ministry.

“After being president of Nigeria, I will be a pastor who will be a major force all over the world.”

Speaking on his “spiritual gift” the governor said he had been getting requests to prophesy about Nigeria’s future.

“Nigerians know that if I give you figures, they find it like that even my prophecies. Some of the things I said about last year came to pass. Some people have been calling me to ask for the prophecies for 2018,” he said

He said he is prepared to be maltreated over his criticisms of President Muhammadu Buhari.

“One pastor said the federal government will bundle Fayose this year, and so? Let them come and do it, who is begging them? I’m equally prepared,” he said.

“I remember Gani Fawehimi, he goes around with his bag. You can arrest him any day, what is the big deal? Some people, their promotion will come as a result of oppression. Our enemies are not our enemies in totality, they are catalysts to our success so I don’t care.

“If the federal government wants to go after me, I am more than available. They know my address, I’m in Magodo now, and tomorrow I’m going to Ekiti. I’m available for them. Those who keep their lives will still lose it.”

On his presidential ambition, the governor said: “Nigerians know that I represent the interest of the common man. If my party picks me as their candidate, I will win this election against President Buhari”.

Fayose also advised the president to quit politics at the end of his first term in office.

He said Buhari would do a great disservice to the nation by contesting the 2019 election.

“We pray for our president that God will grant him wisdom to lead the nation right because as it is now, we are drifting,” he said.

“He is old; he needs the energy to complete his tenure. God will give him the energy to complete this tenure and God will help us to tell him to go and sit in Daura and not contest in 2019. That is my prayer for Nigeria. That he goes to sit in Daura peacefully like the late president of South Africa, Nelson Mandela and go home and rest.”

PhonesSee Why There Is No Iphone 9, BB9, And Windows 9 by Ekiti360(op): 9:56am On Sep 15, 2017
Have you ever wondered why there is iPhone 9, BB9, and Windows 9? Well, we are set to give you info on just why.

There is obviously a problem with the number 9 among mobile phone producers, and the reason is not farfetched.

Marketing is key in mobile phone production, and since the number 9 has some negative superstitious view is some part of the world, this mobile phone producers have decided to skip it.

What’s up with the number 9, superstition, and mobile phone?

Number 9 is a curse word in Chinese and a synonym for suffering, agony or torture in Japanese. And we all know the large role China plays in the mobile phone market, ignore them and ignore fortune.

What other number has negative view…

The number 13…in many places in the West, this number is considered a number for bad luck. Remember “Friday the 13th”?

The number 4….in countries like Korea, China and Japan, this number is a synonym for the word “death”. No one wants to buy death.

There you have it on this post, so am sure you now know why there is no iPhone 9.

CrimeNigeria Immigration Arrests Top Officers Over Job Racketeering by Ekiti360(op): 6:41am On Aug 18, 2017
The Nigeria immigration service (NIS) says it has begun the arrest of suspected recruitment fraudsters and senior officers in the service involved in job racketeering.

Sunday James, NIS spokesman, disclosed this in an interview with NAN in Abuja.

He said NIS had commenced investigations into the ugly trend and arrested some of the suspects, including senior officers involved in the racketeering.

According to him, an assistant comptroller is currently facing disciplinary action for allegedly defrauding innocent citizens, including lecturers and family members in Jos.

“The service has started swooping down on and arresting these dubious elements who unfortunately include an assistant comptroller of Immigration, ACI,” he said.

“The ACI allegedly defrauded innocent citizens, including lecturers and family members in Jos. He is currently facing disciplinary action”.

The spokesperson expressed concern that desperate members of the public still fall prey to fraudsters’ nefarious activities in spite several warnings from the NIS.

Mr. James further urged members of the public to disregard any request for payment for employment and report any such request to the NIS headquarters.

He said they should report any case of extortion in the guise of securing employment in NIS to:

nis.servicom@nigeriaimmigration.gov.ng or call +234 (0)7080607900.

NIS is currently in the process of recruiting some Nigerians into the service after the botched 2014 recruitment during which some Nigerians lost their lives and others injured.

PoliticsReturn Campaign Fund Collected From Jonathan – Ekiti Youths Tell Segun Oni by Ekiti360(op): 3:21pm On Aug 15, 2017
Some All Progressives Congress (APC) youths in Ekiti State, under the aegis of Ekiti APC Youths Congress (EAYC) have told the Deputy

National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Segun Oni to return the over N500 million he received from former

President, Goodluck Jonathan to fund his rerun governorship election in 2009 before accusing anyone of corruption, saying it was the peak of political hypocrisy and immorality for someone like Segun Oni, who benefited from corruption and injustice to speak against corruption.

The youths, who also advised Oni to resign from his position as the APC Deputy National Chairman if he was serious about his governorship

ambition said it was politically immoral for him (Oni) to be in office as a member of the APC National Working Committee (NWC) and at the same time be parading himself as a governorship aspirant.

Reacting to Oni’s comment that Jonathan should apologize to Nigerians for his running a corrupt government, the APC youths said in a press statement issued on Monday, and jointly signed by Mr Tope Ogunkuade and Comrade Tunji Adeleye, Convener and Secretary respectively, that it was on record that Jonathan was the Chairman of Presidential Committee on Segun Oni’s rerun election in 2009 and he got over N500 million through the former President, who was the Vice President then.

The statement reads; “Our attention has been drawn to comment made by Chief Segun Oni, asking former President Goodluck Jonathan to rather apologise to Nigerians for failing to fight corruption while in office and we wish to state expressly that he (Oni) does not have moral rights to make such comment.

“In 2009, this same Jonathan, who was the Vice President led Segun Oni’s rerun governorship election campaign and provided over N500

million for the election, which was eventually rigged for Oni and his PDP.

“Someone provided funds for your election, made sure the election wasrigged in your favour and you enjoyed proceed of that corruption, yet, you are now accusing the same person of corruption? That is the height of hypocrisy and we the youths of the APC won’t condone such display of hypocrisy in our party.

“Oni will therefore have to first return the campaign fund he received from Jonathan before accusing anyone of corruption.

“Also, it is on record that Oni came third in the PDP primary before he was placed above the aspirants that came first and second. If he (Oni) has moral and integrity as being presented, why did he accept to benefit from injustice done to others? Why did he accept to be number one from number three?

“Most importantly, how can Oni be in office as a member of our party’s NWC and still be parading himself as governorship aspirant? If he has integrity, shouldn’t he have resigned as APC Deputy National Chairman before declaring his intention to vie for the party’s guber ticket?

“Oni should know that the fact that he got the position of Deputy National Chairman, which should have gone to our foremost leader, Otunba Niyi Adebayo, do not place him at any better position than other decampees in the party and the earlier he brings himself back to the fantasy land to the reality that this is APC and not PDP where number three can become number one overnight, the better for him.”

Science/TechnologyThe 22 Year Old OAU Student Who Built A Million Dollar Hedge Fund by Ekiti360(op): 9:08am On Aug 15, 2017
When you meet Christopher ‘King’ Bowofade, you are sure in that first minute of conversation that you have met no ordinary 22-year old. Your astonishment quickly grows when he tells you how, in less than two years, he went from a being a student who saw his parents struggle to send him his monthly allowance to building an investment company with 15 full-time employees and over N600 million under management.

The company he built, Better Days Investments (BTD), buys and sells futures and options daily on behalf of 7,902 individual investors who get returns anywhere from 10% to 30% monthly, a performance that I found difficult to believe when I first heard about it.

Somewhere in the middle of my chat with him, I couldn’t help but ask, how does a young kid who got rejected twice to study Economics — first as a secondary school leaver and later as an Ordinary Diploma Holder —convince thousands of investors to bet on him?

His short answer: “People work with you based on what you say you are.”

In late 2012, he was a fresh Diploma graduate, second best in his Conservation Science and Tourism class with a 4.41 GPA, but he was determined to be more than that. During the long break that preceded his direct-entry application to the Department of Economics at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), he stayed back in school to learn about a variety of fields over free school internet. He quickly became adept at graphic design and web development. But what really caught his eye was the financial market: forex, futures, options and binary options. These quickly became an obsession.

He would lose his first investor (his mum)’s $100 in one week, but this didn’t deter him. He found some British fund managers who became his mentors. He learnt to give one of them his money to trade for him. The fund manager returned 50% in a month. He was ecstatic. Once he was able to achieve that kind of return month after month, he felt ready to raise more money.

One of his earliest investors and evangelists was Johnson Alabi, the third best student in the Conservation Science and Tourism Diploma class. Johnson was one of those who urged him to start a company. Christopher used his PHP and CSS skills to build the company website, and they were ready for business. Their first investors would mainly be students looking to earn extra money; their first part-time staff, too.

In November 2015, BTD registered as simply a Commission Agency with CAC (neither SEC or CBN regulates speculative funds in foreign markets) and started out with N1 million from 20 investors. As returns came, word of mouth spread. Christopher and Johnson created a structure where investors signed up to be agents and earned commissions to manage other investors they brought in. At some point, they were doubling investors and asset under management every month.

They were working so hard, they forgot to go to class. This was the first year as 200 level undergraduates at the Geography department at OAU. At the end of first semester, Johnson had a GPA of 2.6, Christopher had a 1.9.

Mavrodi Mundial Moneybox (MMM)

As the business grew, Christopher’s challenges were more than academic. 2016 was the year when exchanging Naira to Dollar was difficult. BTD worked around this by securing a large single black market source and by returning Naira cash flows from new investors to old ones without touching the dollar capital base. He also had trouble maintaining investor returns as capital grew.

He and his COO, Johnson, fought over many issues and finally parted ways. Some of his best student-staff would leave him or he would be forced to sack them over issues that ranged from petty to material.

But his biggest challenge yet was in December 2016, when majority of his investors who had thought BTD was some kind of multi-level marketing scheme started to request to withdraw all of their funds following rumours that Nigeria’s largest multi-level marketing scheme, MMM, had crashed.

“This was depleting our capital so much that it challenged the company’s sustainability.” That was Christopher putting it mildly. This was an existential crises that could have wiped out over 80% of his fund, as well as BTD itself, in under a month. He took firm action and froze the fund. He also revealed himself to many of his Lagos-based investors for the first time (some who had exposure of up to N30 million), and organised an Investor Conference in February of this year to allay their fears.

The road to startup success is dotted with what sometimes are the truest tests of skill and character. Bowofade, as he is sometimes called by friends, has had to quickly learn programming and trading in the financial markets while proving that he can make tough decisions as a leader. “Not many people can trade binary options,”He quipped at some point in our chat, “It requires that you make really important decisions in a split second.” He has been an ardent student of Trading Psychology, a term popular among traders that describes the emotional and mental make-up needed to succeed as a trader, built on the three cornerstones: stamina, patience and discipline. In addition, he has to embrace fear and take risk without flinching.

But Bowofade struggles in some respects, especially in dealing with people. According to Johnson Alabi, “Bowofade can be poor with human relations, he prefers online relationships.” He has an inordinate need to feel secure and be surrounded by loyal people. This means that he has a tendency to keep mostly yes-men around him instead of those who can challenge his ideas. This easily leads to mediocrity if not checked.

From Zero to One

What’s the future of BTD? Christopher sees it in the near future as being a potential challenger to well-established finance houses like ARM, FBN Capital and Chapel Hill Denham, investing in traditional financial instruments like real estate and infrastructure but also leveraging technology a lot more. For example, leveraging blockchain technology to be the first established finance house making investments in cryptocurrency. He is a blockchain enthusiast whose $75 personal investment in Bitcoins two years ago is now $2000.

“Blockchain technology has the power to disrupt conventional business models,” he says. He goes on to explain how e-commerce sites can accept cryptocurrency, businesses can raise capital through Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs), and bottom-of-the-pyramid projects in sub-Saharan Africa can benefit from the transparency, stability and trust that blockchain offers.

When Christopher unfreezes his fund by December, shedding short-term-focused investors for those who will join him for the long ride to building a sustainable company, he would have fully experienced his zero to one moment: when you build something out of nothing.

That moment is precious. You join the Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame, for starters (at OAU, it is a long list that includes the oldies like Femi Otedola and Ibukun Awosika, and the newbies like Opeyemi Awoyemi of Jobberman and Biola Olaniran of Gamsole). You may still be a student (or not; Christopher has been informed that he needs to renew his studentship), but you become a moving part of a new and growing economy. This moment is not for anyone: it belongs to those who refuse to think at the same plane as the majority of people, who have visions to truly change the game and who don’t mistake schooling for getting an education.

Bayern Munich 1-1 Arsenal: Iwobi saves the day for the Gunners

Iwobi’s header was the last kick of the match and Arsenal have, somehow, salvaged a draw here! Lewandowski gave Bayern a deserved lead in the 9th minute with a penalty, and the German side had so many chances to score more but they failed to take any of them and have been made to pay by Iwobi.
