PoliticsEkiti 2018: Fayemi Speaks On Selection Of Running Mate by Ekiti360(op): 6:26am On May 30, 2018
The Kayode Fayemi Campaign Office has refuted a message circulating on social media that the All Progressives Congress (APC) flag bearer has picked Alhaja Habibat Adubiaro as his running mate.

A statement signed on Tuesday on behalf of the organisation by Mr. Wole Olujobi described the story as not only false but misleading.

It urged members of the public not to believe any report or statement that does not emanate from the appropriate party organs.

The statement reads: “The attention of the JKF Campaign Office has been drawn to a story that has gone viral on the social media that the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Kayode Fayemi, has picked Hajia Habibat Adubiaro as the deputy governorship candidate of the party in the July 14 governorship election.

“This report is not only false, but misleading.

“We have since discovered that the story emanated from the same source that concocted a story last week purporting that Dr Fayemi planned to create cattle colonies across the state.

“The general public is hereby notified that APC has a formal way of conducting its affairs in strict compliance with the party’s rules and regulations.

“At the appropriate time the party would formally announce the deputy governorship candidate.

“We therefore urge members of the public to stop taking seriously any announcement that does not emanate from appropriate party organs.”

PoliticsIshaku: "You Will Make Millions, Drive Benz If I’m Re-elected" by Ekiti360(op): 6:18am On May 30, 2018
Taraba Governor, Darius Dickson Ishaku, on Tuesday appealed to youths in the state to support his second term bid.

“I want you (the youth) to go out during the election and re-elect us. I will empower you to be millionaires; you will be exporting milk and meat; you will be driving Mercedes Benz, instead of Keke NAPEP,” he said.

The Nation reports that Ishaku spoke during his third year anniversary and Democracy Day celebration held at the Jolly Nyame stadium Jalingo.

He said: “Today, over 3000 youths have been employed and thousands empowered through the Rescue Mission’s skills acquisition programme.

“Those empowered are now self-reliant and have become employers of labour. The story of one Aisha is a good example. She was empowered; she later employed a widow and five other persons and her business is still running.

“When you elected me in 2015, you did not know me well. Now, you know who Ishaku is; now, you know who DDI is, who Daram Dam Dam is, because of what I have done for you

“Some Germans came to invest in tourism in the State, on getting to the mountain in Gembu, they were crazy. But upon hearing news of attacks and killings, they all left,” he said.

He said, apart from tourism, he has achieved tremendously in all other sectors, including agriculture, education, health and infrastructure, adding that the Nigerian Medical Association gave him award because of the hospital he built in Wukari and the ongoing reconstruction of the hospitals in Bambur and Gembu.

PoliticsFayose Speaks On Adeyeye’s Defection To APC by Ekiti360(op): 8:05pm On May 29, 2018
Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State says the defection of former Minister of State for Works, Mr. Dayo Adeyeye from the PDP to APC will not affect the party’s fortune.

The governor made the disclosure in a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Public Communication and New Media, Mr Lere Olayinka in Ado Ekiti on Tuesday.

Fayose said that Adeyeye’s defection to the All Progressives Congress had merely confirmed his earlier position that he was never a loyal and committed member of the Peoples democratic Party.

According to him, “I am not bothered by the action taken by the former aspirant in the just concluded PDP governorship primary election in the state.

“His move to APC will not in any way affect us. This is because majority of those he thought were behind him did not defect with him.

“In fact, one of his two party agents for the last primary is still with us in PDP and you know what that means.”

“If somebody is your party agent and could not go with you to another party it tells a lot and even as he is moving from PDP, many others from APC are coming to us, so we have nothing to lose with his defection,” he said.

The governor said that he held no grudge against him because he had the right to move from one political party to the other adding that he wished him well in his new party.

“While he was the PDP national spokesman, he had spoken terrible things against the APC and he has now gone to join the same party,” Fayose said.

Jobs/VacanciesFRSC Recruitment Portal Functioning, Applicants Should Use Computer – Spokesman by Ekiti360(op): 5:03pm On May 29, 2018
The Federal Road Safety Corp, FRSC, has stated that the dedicated website for its recruitment exercise is functioning.

The agency had released requirements for application.

Corps Public Education Officer, Bisi Kazeem, in a statement on Tuesday, explained that the website has not crashed.

He noted that a few complaints from people that could not get through either as a result of congestion or network hitches does not mean that the site is down.

“We even learnt that contrary to instructions, some applicants are using hand held phones instead of computer,” Kazeem said.

He continued, “Thousands of applicants are getting through second per second which we are monitoring at our situation room created mainly for recruitment purposes.

“Contrary to the speculations, we are pleased to inform you that the site has been stable with thousand applicants already acknowledged on the database.

“Furthermore, there is need to state categorically that there is a dedicated site for the recruitment (www.recruitment.frsc.gov.ng) which is totally different from the frsc official website (frsc.gov.ng) which so many applicants are using.

“For the avoidance of doubts, we have received more than 10,000 successful applications from applicants within one day and half window, specifically about 6000 today from our back end.

EducationJAMB Releases Results Of Rescheduled 2018 UTME by Ekiti360(op): 1:30pm On May 29, 2018
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), on Tuesday, announced the release of the results of the mop up examination conducted for candidates, who were rescheduled for the UTME on Saturday, May 26.

The results can be assessed on JAMB portal- www.jamb.org.ng

The Board’s Head of Media, Dr Fabian Benjamin, made the announcement in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), in Abuja.

The board had recently, conducted a mop up examination for over 12, 000 candidates in some of its centres across the country.

This included those whose biometrics could not be captured during the initial period of the UTME in March, those who were yet to see their results and have not been involved in any form of malpractice.

Others included those who were unable to print out their e-slip before the earlier examinations and those whose centres were cancelled for suspected malpractices.

On the admission process, Benjamin told NAN that the board frowned at some institutions that have breached the constitutional guidelines for the entire process by making advertorials before the policy meeting.

He explained that all institutions must note that they are not to make any form of adverts for admissions into their schools until after the policy meeting.

According to the spokesman, this is because the meeting is the only authorised body that approves admission process for every preceding year.

“Advertising before the policy meeting is a violation and abuse of the entire process.

“They must recall that at the meeting, all proceedings, rules and regulations guiding the admissions are discussed and unanimously approved by all stakeholders.

“However, a list of institutions that breached this rule are being compiled by the board and to be forwarded to the appropriate body for sanction.”

Benjamin added that in view of the above, those who intend to make admission adverts before the slated meeting, are urged to have a rethink and halt.

He also noted that the 2018 policy meeting of the education sector was coming early to allow institutions begin an early admission.

PoliticsEkiti 2018: Fayose Speaks On Plan To Rig Governorship Poll by Ekiti360(op): 8:13am On May 25, 2018
The Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has warned the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, against any attempt to rig the July 14 governorship election in the state.

He warned that those planning to rig the upcoming election in the state should discard the thought because they will fail.

Speaking in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital, Fayose said he was aware that there were plans being hatched by certain people to rig the coming election, which he said would show the difference between ‘boys and men’.

“In another six weeks there would be an election in our state. We will know whether there’s a difference between the boys and the men.

“I’m aware of all the things you are trying to do, because you don’t know what I know. You will fail the same way you failed in Anambra. You will fail woefully here. Every machination shall fail.

“I dare INEC to come and rig here, I dare you to come and rig in Ekiti. I assure you that you will meet a brick wall,” he said.

RomanceStop Limiting Yourself, Believe In Possibilities And Do Big Things Instead by Ekiti360(op): 7:59am On May 25, 2018
Today, I want to discuss how to stop limiting yourself. To be honest, you may be doing this without even knowing it. It turns out I was.

I just started an incredibly exciting executive program to take my business and life to the next level. One of the benefits of the program is getting to connect with 200 entrepreneurial women (“my classmates”) around the world with the same dreaming big attitude.

The other amazing thing about being a part of this course is that it has four live events in the next year in Miami, Sydney, Paris and Los Angeles.

Anyway, about a month ago, I had an introductory call with one of the directors, and I asked her when the dates for the live events were going to be so I could plan out my year.

I told her that I thought I’d be at all of the events except for Sydney because I didn’t think it’d be possible.

She happily gave me the schedule but followed up with, “Well, why don’t you wait and see what happens with Sydney? It isn’t until February — you never know what’s possible or what you’ll want at that time. Don’t limit yourself.”

In that moment, I felt like I was back in school getting in trouble for not raising my hand. (I was always the very eager child who wanted to answer every question.) I knew she was 100 percent right though and was glad she pointed it out. I was limiting myself and taking myself out of the game.

To be honest, I thought I was done blocking opportunities in my life. After all, I teach my clients not to be self-limiting! It just goes to show that sometimes you are unaware of the ways in which you hold yourself back or don’t dream big enough.

And what about you? How often do you think too far in advance or immediately rule something out? How quick are you to lose faith or tell yourself not to get your hopes up? Do you discount job opportunities before you even apply? Do you assume programs or courses won’t work for you? Have you given up on your own “Sydney” dream even though it’s six months away? Have you forgotten that anything is possible?

In life, our thoughts and words become our reality, and your mind soaks up whatever you focus on — the good and the bad.

So by me telling myself that Sydney probably won’t happen, I’m actually making it more of a reality than if I was open to the dream coming true and in a more positive state of mind. I hope that makes sense. What I’m trying to say is that self-fulfilling prophecy does exist so you need to be aware of your thoughts and words.

So here are five ways to help you make big things happen and stop limiting yourself:

Five Ways to Stop Limiting Yourself

1. Think in 90-day increments and live in the moment.

2. Remember that the mind often plans based on what it knows. So, for example, if you’ve never started a business, then the mind will naturally hold you back because you’ve never done it before. (Clearly that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t though!).

3. Be as positive as you can.

4. Consider your thoughts and words carefully.

5. Hold onto the belief that anything is possible, because it is. (If you need to write that on a Post-It and put it on your mirror, then do so!)

I hope it’s obvious just how key this is to creating the life you’ve always imagined.

EducationJAMB: Reps Demand Reduction Of UMTE Fee To N3000 by Ekiti360(op): 4:22am On May 25, 2018
The House of Representatives has urged the federal ministry of education to review downward the cost of Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) by about 50% from the current N7, 500.00 to not more than N3, 000.00.

The House, while adopting a motion by James Faleke (APC, Lagos) urged the Federal Ministry of Education to ensure that the cost of the other ‘ancillary forms’ for changes must be free or at the very barest minimum of N500.

These decisions were taken after a unanimous endorsement of the motion, in order to make university and other tertiary education accessible and affordable.

While leading debate on the motion, Fakele noted that the Joint Admissions Matriculation Board (JAMB) was said to have remitted the sum of N7.8 billion to the Federal Government being excess of the N12 billion made from sales of Unified Tertiary Examinations (UTME) application forms for University Admission in 2017 at the rate of N7, 500.00 each, excluding incomes from the sales of other forms such as Change of Course Forms and Change of University Forms at the rate of N5, 000.00 each.

He said an estimated 250,000 candidates purchased the UTME forms bringing the income from sales of the forms to estimated sum of N2.4bn per year.

The lawmaker further noted that the cost does not include the Post UMTE Examinations that are conducted by Universities at an average cost of N2, 500 (Two Thousand Five Hundred Naira only) per candidate excluding the expenses made on logistics.

Faleke said he was aware that JAMB had a surplus of N7 billion budget in 2017.

According to him “the increase in the number of Universities from 12 at inception of JAMB in 1798, with less than 50,000 candidates to over 400 tertiary institutions with more than 1.7 million candidates writing the exams and indices shows only about 50% of those who wrote the examinations were admitted in the universities as at 2017.

“Further aware that JAMB as a government agency is not set up for profit making but to promote educational development of the young citizens in pursuit of their professional career;

“Worried that the proliferation of Universities to 120, 83 Polytechnics, 82 Colleges of Education and other Tertiary Institutions under JAMB purview is portraying it as a profit making venture.

“I was alarmed at the allegation of the huge sum of money missing from the vaults, burning of scratch cards, lending out money made from sales of application forms, conversion of proceeds from sales of application forms to loans and Image ’empowerment’ funds to private individuals and fictitious by stories by the officials of the board”

“That being the first time such an amount is being returned to government coffers by any government agency, the management of JAMB deserves commendation for upholding the Federal Government’s Anti-Corruption policies.

“Believes that education, being a pivot upon which relational development of the nation rests, should be made available to citizens at the barest minimum cost”

The motion was thereafter unanimously adopted and referred to the committee on basic education led by Hon. Zakari Mohammed (APC, Kwara) to ensure compliance and report back in two weeks.

TV/MoviesBarack & Michelle Obama Film Production Company Signs Deal With Netflix by Ekiti360(op): 8:26am On May 23, 2018
EX-US president and first lady, Barack and Michelle Obama have signed a deal to produce films and documentaries for the TV streaming giant Netflix.

According to reports, the former US president and first lady will develop ideas for potential shows on service including “scripted series, unscripted series, docu-series, documentaries and features”.

The former President said one of the simple joys of his time in office was getting to meet so many fascinating people from all walks of life, and to help them share their experiences with a wider audience.

“That’s why Michelle and I are so excited to partner with Netflix – we hope to cultivate and curate the talented, inspiring, creative voices who are able to promote greater empathy and understanding between peoples, and help them share their stories with the entire world,” he said.
Barack Obama already has a connection with Netflix, having appeared on a special programme with talkshow host David Letterman.

The Obamas, who have kept a relatively low profile since leaving office, have established a company named Higher Ground Productions to manage the project.

The New York Times has previously reported the former president was in talks to develop shows “that highlight inspirational stories” rather than attacking conservatives or criticising Donald Trump.

Michelle Obama hinted that their programmes would follow this template, saying she and her husband have “always believed in the power of storytelling to inspire us, to make us think differently about the world around us, and to help us open our minds and hearts to others”.

CrimeNigerian Hacker Who Hacked Hollywood Actor Swiss Bank Account Confesses by Ekiti360(op): 6:18am On May 22, 2018
Nigerian Fraudster Who Hacked Hollywood Actor John Travolta’s Swiss Bank Account Confesses “An Israeli Trained Me In Canada”

Michael Williams, a 28-year-old medical doctor on Sunday told journalists in Lagos that Nigerian banks must upgrade their systems in order to protect their customers’ funds. Williams, who was arrested by detectives attached to Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), Lagos, for allegedly hacking into people’s accounts, said the Nigerian banks were the easiest in the world to hack.

The suspect was arrested after he allegedly generated N28 million bank alert to defraud a car dealer of a Porsche car. He was paraded alongside other suspects at the state Police Command Headquarters by the Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal.

According to Edgal, the suspect has the ability to shut down CCTV cameras for 67 minutes, using software. He said: “On March 23, my office received a complaint that there exists a syndicate that goes to car shops to buy a car and configures a computer programme that would send a fake payment alert to the seller and by so doing, obtains the car under false pretences.

“Such was the case of Abidogun Adewale whose car shop played host to the leader of this syndicate by name Michael Thompson Williams, who bought a Porsche car at a whopping price of N28,000,000. “He thereafter requested for the seller’s bank account number and made it look like he had paid him via the fake alert to his phone using HTTP tunnel. com. “The suspect thereafter, drove the car away unknown to the seller that he had been scammed.

However, based on his complaint, a manhunt was launched for the fleeing suspect. “Immediately I availed the detectives of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS) all necessary intelligence assets which led to the arrest of the suspect in Lekki area of the state.

“During interrogation the suspect confessed to the police of committing the crime and led the detectives to Asaba in Delta State where the stolen Porsche car was recovered from him. “He also took the detectives to Owerri in Imo State where two other Camry cars he stole in a similar fashion were also recovered.”

Edgal added that the suspect advised him to tell bank operators to get someone to protect their customer’s accounts in Nigeria. According to Williams, most Nigerian bank accounts have less security that is why it is easy for hackers to hack into their accounts. The commissioner said the modus operandi of the suspect who, according to him, has a good mastery of cyber environment, is that he creates a credit card through Cyber Ghost 12.

He said: “When the credit card matures, it is then funded through a hacked Swiss account. Any transaction anybody is doing through Swiss account the suspect manipulates such and wires the fund to his contrived credit card.”

The suspect, who spoke with journalists under strict supervision of the commissioner, said hacking into people’s accounts was easy with the aid of Cyber Ghost App 12, HTTP/ tunnel.azinytv4/vpn (virtual private network).

He said: “Through the credit card, one could buy software he needs to work with and protect his job so that he cannot be traced. Such software is known as vpn and word cyber protector e.g Dare Devil. It also enables someone to do deductions and transactions per dollar from every individual domiciliary account. “It is also easy to shut down CCTV camera on Dare Devil and break 256 codes on CCTV.China.com.northkorea. code untouchable.tracker.com. “This enables me to shut down any working system of my interest on yt.com, Internet sophistication e.g. youtube/facebook to make them unworkable for 67 minutes.

Although I am not a computer scientist, I’m a professional hacker.” The suspect claimed he had worked at Tolu Hospital and Eko Hospital before travelling to Canada. He added: “While in Canada, the building where I was staying was filled up so I had to move in with a man who is from Israel. He was the one who taught me hacking. “When I asked how much he had made through hacking, he replied ‘I get money online not from any individual. It is a free world online. I have no idea how much I have made. I target Hollywood actors like John Travolta who does transactions every week’. “I have intercepted money worth millions of dollars online and diverted them into a credit card which I created. When you are a hacker, you are a bank to yourself.” Edgal, however, said the case was still under investigation.

CrimeWoman Rescued From Ritualists In Lagos Narrates How God Delivered Her by Ekiti360(op): 3:47am On May 22, 2018
A mob yesterday rescued a 22-year-old woman, Abidemi Omoniyi, from a gang of suspected kidnappers, ritualists at Agege, Lagos.

Omoniyi, a front desk officer at a hotel in Omole Phase I, boarded an unpainted taxi around 7am at Egbatedo Bus Stop enroute Pen Cinema.

The woman, who said she started screaming as soon as she realised she joined a wrong vehicle, told reporters that the driver, Emeka Okeke his accomplices told her she would be taken to Ibadan where a customer was waiting to buy her vital organs.

She said: “I had opted for the vehicle because there were too many people at the bus stop and no tricycle was going to Pen Cinema. So when the vehicle came and said the fare was N100, I just joined it. It was only the driver and a woman that were in when I joined. Few metres away, two others entered the vehicle pretending to be passengers.

“I knew I entered a wrong vehicle immediately the driver started telling the female passenger (Blessing Nwaeze) that she did not lock his boot properly. He said the woman did not tell him she had dollars in the boot and for that reason, everyone in the car would share it.

“As soon as I heard that, I told myself these were fraudsters and I asked them to drop me. But they refused. The next thing, the woman held me and the old man (Monday Onwuka) started handling my breast. The driver brought out a simcard and put inside a phone and called someone that they were on their way with the items.

“They told me they will cut off my breasts and other parts and that a customer was already waiting for us at Ibadan. The old man said I will die today that no matter how I screamed, no one will hear my voice.

“Fortunately, there was a man that has been observing what was happening. The driver got to a busy spot and raised the alarm. He said he has been hearing my voice and it seemed I was shouting for help. He asked them who I was and the woman immediately said I was her younger sister and that our parents said they should bring me home.

“I told the man I do not know them and that I had entered the vehicle thinking it was a taxi. That I only have my makeup kits in the bag I was carrying and not clothes as they claimed.

“That was when people gathered and started beating them. They were four but one was able to escape while the other three were beaten and handed over to the police.”

But the suspects denied being kidnappers, insisting that they were just fraudsters looking for who to swindle.

Police Commissioner Imohimi Edgal who paraded the suspects, said investigations were ongoing.

PoliticsAdeyeye Speaks On Joining APC, Accuses Fayose’s Aide Of Spreading Falsehood by Ekiti360(op): 3:40am On May 22, 2018
Former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Ekiti State, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, has denied news on the social media that he has joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Adeyeye, former Minister of State for Works had announced his resignation from thevPDP some weeks ago.

In a statement on Monday by Director of Media, Prince Adedayo Adeyeye Movement (PAAM), Niyi Ojo, Adeyeye described the claims that he has joined the APC as deliberate falsehood, urging members of the public to disregard same.

The social media has been awash with reports suggesting that Adeyeye has moved to the APC after an alleged visit to Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun in Abeokuta.

He said: “There is deliberate falsehood and blackmail trending on social media that Prince Adeyeye and his supporters have defected to APC with a promise of #200million to be sourced by Governor Amosun of Ogun State.

“The rumours emanated from Prime Reporters, a blog owned and managed by Governor Fayose’s Media aide, Lere Olayinka, whose life achievement as a journalist is to libel, blackmail and malign the integrity of any person apart from who is presently feeding him.

“We call on the general public to disregard the write up as the figment of the imagination of the author.

“Prince Adeyeye has the right to any political association of his choice and he knows how to unveil his new platform without recourse to yellow journalism as evidenced from the publication of falsehood to the general public.

“We assured all lovers and admirers of Prince Adeyeye that in a matter of days a broad based platform for the realization of him ambition shall be made known after extensive consultations and deliberations.”

Politics2019: Why Patience Jonathan Will Be Happiest If PDP Wins – Presidency by Ekiti360(op): 10:01pm On May 20, 2018
The Presidency a Sunday said wife to ex-president, Goodluck Jonathan will be the happiest person if the Peoples Democratic Party regains power in 2019.

Spokesman to President Muhammadu Buhari, Mallam Shehu Gruba has said this in an article titled ‘The Real Price of Changing the Change (1)’.

According to him, Patience will be the happiest after all her funds were returned to her from the EFCC and would no longer need lawyers

“if the Peoples Democartic Party (PDP) take over power come 2019: ‘The hidden owner of the Lagos cash shop may then step forward to reclaim their N449.6 million; the ex-Naval Chiefs will have returned to them the already forfeited N1.8 billion.

“The Governors Forum paid back their N1.4 billion and the major oil marketers, from whom the EFCC has so far seized N328.9 billion will smile their ways to the bank.

“The banks themselves will equally join the party, happily getting back N27.7 billion they “ate” from taxes they failed to remit.

“The scion of the Akinjides, Jumoke will have N650 million awarded to her while those scammers in INEC who coughed out N1 billion will equally get money back and charges standing against them in court may be dropped.

“But the happiest of them all will be Mrs. Jonathan, who will get the first priority when the refunds start coming for obvious reasons.

“The former First Lady would not anymore need lawyers to keep her mountain of gifts, counted in huge millions of dollars, billions of Naira, hotels and buildings,” he said.

PoliticsFayemi Made Mistakes, But You Can Accept His Apologies – Bamidele Begs Workers by Ekiti360(op): 3:35pm On May 18, 2018
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, Hon Opeyemi Bamidele, has appealed to Ekiti workers to vote for the candidate of the party, Dr Kayode Fayemi in the July 14 governorship poll.

Bamidele said the APC was coming with strong message of hope and assurances that nobody will be victimized in Fayemi’s government and salaries, pensions and other emoluments will be paid as and when due contrary to negative impression being bandied around by mischief makers.

In a statement in Ado Ekiti by his Media Assistant, Ahmed Salami, on Wednesday to drum supports for the Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Bamidele said rather than victimize the civil servants, policies that would be of tremendous benefits shall be formulated to better their lives.

Bamidele added that no sane government would toy with the civil service as a potent engine room of any government, assuring that the next APC-led government will set a new template on how best to deal with workers in the most friendly and mutually beneficial way.

He appealed to the teachers, local government staff and pensioners to accept Fayemi’s open apologies and vote for APC in the coming election.

“Our message to teachers, local government staff, pensioners and other strata of Ekiti is that, they should accept our apologies.

Anyone can make mistakes. Ekiti people had criticized Fayemi for making mistakes, I too crticised him strongly and heavily for those perceived mistakes.

“All these are not personal, they were about Ekiti. Today, the same way I criticized him was the same way I am sticking my neck in my support for him that he be given a second chance by our good people of Ekiti State.

“This is not about anybody, but about our state. Fayemi is now eight years older than when he was sworn in 2010 and four years older than when he lost in 2014. So, he has acquired more experiences in the art of governance as a Minister. He now has scientific understanding of what went wrong then and how best to correct those mistakes”, he said.

Bamidele added further: “Today, our workers and pensioners have lost faith in the system. Our people are all complaining about the level of army of unemployed youth, increased poverty and hunger and other societal vices occasioned by non-payment of salaries.

“All these we must tackle collectively by having a government we can all be proud of.”

Speaking about a new rebranded Fayemi, Bamidele stated: “I could see in Dr Kayode Fayemi, a totally changed person. Though, he has his own foibles just like every other human being, but he personally told me that he had learnt his lesson and had become a changed person, which I strongly believed.

“If there is anyone who should not be receptive to Fayemi’s second coming, it should be me. But we can make mistakes, but we have to look for avenues to correct them. He was even humbled to the extent that he had apologized, saying that he was on his knees.

“The way he had carried on since he won the primary gave a vivid conviction about the level of his penitence. Barely twelve hours after his victory, he had visited 16 aspirants in their respective homes, this is commendable.

“With this, he had come to the full realization that no individual can do it alone as the task to build Ekiti of our dream is a collective responsibility”.

PoliticsEkiti 2018: Buhari Cannot Help Fayemi – Fayose Tells Muslim Community by Ekiti360(op): 8:16am On May 16, 2018
Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has warned former Governor Kayode Fayemi, to stop boasting about the use of federal might to win the July 14 governorship election.

Fayose stated this in Ado-Ekiti on Tuesday, when the Muslim Community in the state held a gathering to appreciate the appointment of one of them, Kazeem Deji Ogunsakin, as the deputy governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In a statement by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr Idowu Adelusi, he quoted Fayose as saying that the choice of Prof. Kolapo Olusola Eleka as the PDP governorship candidate and Ogunsakin as his deputy, was divine.

“I know that this is God’s project and cannot fail. Those bragging about one might or the other are only deceiving themselves. We are firmly on a solid ground with God.

“I have done my part and I want the Muslim Community to go all about and spread the news. He is a vibrant young man and with the support of the people we are coasting home to victory come July 14,” he said.

In his remarks, the Chief Imam of Ekiti State, who is also the Chairman, League of Imams in Yorubaland including Delta and Edo States, Sheikh Jamiu Kewulere Bello, said: “The governor made four promises to the Muslim Community and he has fulfilled three.

“The third one is what we are witnessing and appreciating today and we know he will fulfil the last one. We said we will support whoever picks a Muslim as his deputy and we thank God that Governor Fayose has done us proud. We are happy that the governor values us.

“You will succeed in this enterprise. We still have much to do and we will not disappoint in that respect,” Bello said.

PoliticsHow Young Nigerians, Professionals Can Get Jobs – Fashola by Ekiti360(op): 7:25am On May 16, 2018
Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola, on Tuesday, said more youths and professionals will get jobs when Nigerians embrace maintenance economy.

NAN reports that Fashola said this during a panel discussion at the Facility Management (FM) Day with the theme “Tackling the Poor Maintenance Culture in Nigeria,” organised by Klinserv Solutions Ltd., in Lagos.

Fashola, while delivering a speech on behalf of Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, said the nation needed to build a maintenance economy that would create more jobs.

Fashola said the nation’s infrastructure had the potential to create several jobs for professionals, artisans and skilled youths.

“Until we create a maintenance economy, it will be difficult for those young ones to find jobs and we have already started,” the minister noted.

According to him, the Federal Government was developing a strategic plan to guide the overall maintenance activities in the nation.

He said the plan would be designed based on international infrastructure management manual.

“The goal would be to establish a worldwide acceptable asset management framework from there to create employment for SMEs,’’ he said.

He added that maintenance of infrastructure related jobs was able to drive the nation’s largest workforce by about 75 per cent.

“Maintenance economy is a very strong commitment of the Buhari administration”, the minister said.

@kikiotolu.Com

Since he played a leading role in Black Panther movie, Chadwick Boseman has become an household name.

The actor who played the first Black Superhero in mainstream American comic books won the hearts of many thanks to Wakanda and its people and everything the movie represents not just in the film, but also in real life.

The actor who was fired by White producers who gave him his first role after he confronted them on how the role of a young African American without a father and a drug addicted mother could give wrong assumptions about black people inspired the 2018 Howard University graduates with the story of his life.

The 40-year-old Howard University graduate urged the graduating students of Howard University to stick by their values, because once the success comes, you can enjoy it better.

His words:

“Take the harder way, the more complicated one, the one with more failures at first than successes. … then you will not regret it.”

“You would rather find purpose than a job or career. Purpose crosses disciplines. Purpose is an essential element of you. It is the reason you are on the planet at this particular time in history. Whatever you choose as a career path, remember the struggles along the way are only meant to shape you for your purpose.”

Governor of Ekiti, Ayodele Fayose has reacted to the statement by President Muhammadu Buhari to Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Kayode Fayemi over his victory.

Buhari had on Sunday in a statement by his spokesman, Garba Shehu congratulated Fayemi for winning the APC ticket to contest the July 14, 2018 governorship elections.

Th statement said, “President Buhari believes that Fayemi’s track record in the state as a reformist, with a penchant for building educational infrastructure and promoting the welfare of the ordinary people, will bolster his chances at the forthcoming polls.

“The President notes that the successful primaries in the state, with more than 30 aspirants, further validate the credentials of the APC on internal democracy, and its preparedness to take the country to another level of development.”

Reacting, Fayose who had earlier mocked Fayemi over his victory took to his Twitter page describing the president’s commendation as ‘day-dreaming’

Fayose urged the president to give Fayemi a position in FEC rather than congratulate him as his ambition to become Ekiti governor was dead on arrival.

He wrote “President Buhari congratulating Fayemi on his emergence as APC candidate is like day-dreaming.He will surfer another major defeat on July 14.

“Rather than congratulating him,the President should reserve his seat at the FEC because this desperation to be Ekiti governor is dead on arrival.”

PoliticsI Will Do Better This Time – Fayemi Begs Ekiti People For Forgiveness by Ekiti360(op): 8:09am On May 13, 2018
Dr. John Kayode Fayemi, winner of the governorship primary of the All Progressives Congress in Ekiti state has apologised to the people for all the errors of omission or commission he made during his first term as governor, between 2010 and 2014.

He made the plea in his speech after being declared winner of the hotly contested primary election, which featured 33 contestants, with one of them withdrawing on Thursday.

Fayemi got 941 delegate votes, out of the 2,313 valid votes cast.

His nearest competitor was also a former governor, Segun Oni, who got 481 votes.

Governor Tanko Al-Makura, who chaired the election committee announced the result after 11pm today in Ado-Ekiti and thanked all the delegates and contestants for their show of maturity, patience and perseverance.

He reserved special praise for the security agents, who were able to maintain peace, unlike last week’s show that ended riotously.

He congratulated Dr Fayemi for winning the party’s primary election and charged him to work together with the other aspirants to enable him achieve his desired goals and objectives in the forthcoming July,14, gubernatorial election.

Fayemi, who was followed to the podium by all the other aspirants, said he was delighted to emerge as the winner of the party’s primary election.

The APC flag bearer said his victory was not his alone, but belonged to all the contestants.

He announced the formation of a Candidate Advisory Committee, with all the contestants as members and said he would be ready to work with all of them to achieve victory for the APC.

” I am delighted to have won the party’s primary election, and am also happy because the delegates voted for me. It shows they believe so much in my abilities to change the lives of the Ekiti people for the better compared to what they are currently experiencing.

” All other aspirants are my friends and colleagues, am going to work with them to ensure that our great party emerges as the winner in the forthcoming gubernatorial election,” he said.

Read Fayemi’s Full Speech:

This is the day the Lord has made, and we rejoice and are glad in it.Today, the people have spoken and their voice has been heard resoundingly.

· What we have witnessed today, is one of the essential elements in the electoral cycle in any democracy – the exercise of the collective will over the aspirations of many – the emergence of the candidate of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the July 14, 2018 gubernatorial election in Ekiti state, out of many eminently qualified aspirants.

· Indeed, it has been a hard fought contest, and I am extremely humbled that our delegates have counted me worthy of the honour of bearing the banner of our great party. This victory is not mine alone, it belongs to all Ekiti people who desire a greater tomorrow.

· The free, fair and transparent process we have witnessed today is a testament to our great party’s democratic credentials that guarantees a level playing field for everyone aspiring to high office. This is a feat we must all be proud of.

· But the battle has only just begun – the contest to Reclaim Our Land and Restore Our Values. The fight to ensure our great party comes out victorious in the July 14, 2018 general election.

· Your Excellences, Distinguished Party Leaders, Honourable Delegates, Members of the press, Observers, Distinguished ladies and gentlemen. Without a doubt, Ekiti is in critical need of rescue. It is imperative that we urgently commence the task of purging ourselves of the bad reputation we have earned in recent years and restore good governance to the state.

· In my valedictory address in 2014, I said that future administrations would be judged by the standards we set during our time in office. It should be clear to any observer that over the past four years, Ekiti has retreated from the progressive values that we espoused in office and our grand ideals of human development.

· We have seen a cynical approach to politics that exploits the penury of the poor and the vulnerability of the marginalised. We have seen the entrenchment of the disdain for elders, traditional institutions, and all forms of constituted authorities.

· Instead of continuing the quest for freedom from ignorance, disease and want, what we have seen is a paradigm that deepens captivity to these ills. In short, the last four years has called into question all that we stand for as a people. The timeless values of honour, dignity, nobility and civility encapsulated in the Omoluabi ethos have been eroded.

· We must resume the march to break the yoke of ignorance that keeps our people down; liberate them from ill-health and other limitations that restrain them from achieving their potentials; and break the stranglehold of poverty which keeps people from living full creative lives.

· In practical and policy terms, what this means is that the APC administration to be sworn in on October 15, 2018, by the grace of God, must resume good governance that was cut short four years ago, and once again prioritise social investments in education, healthcare and other social protection programmes that reduce the cost of living, while raising the quality of life.

· In all electoral contests, tempers often rise and nerves are frayed. I therefore humbly appeal to all my supporters, and to my co-contestants and their supporters, to let go of past differences as we forge ahead to a new dawn.

· I furthermore very respectfully request the support of my brothers and sisters – co-contestants in this primary election. I plead that we put our differences aside and work together as one strong and indivisible party for success in the upcoming general election.

· I would be counting on all my co-contestants to share their wealth of experience, ideas and knowledge in furtherance of our collective desire to make Ekiti great again.

· As I have said ever so often, all those who contested the primary election today are eminently qualified to be Governor. I salute your courage and congratulate you all for enriching the process. However, together we are greater and stronger than the sum of our individual parts, and no individual, myself inclusive, is bigger than our great party.

· As I conclude, I must seize this opportunity to express my gratitude to members of the National Working Committee of our great party, and all those that have contributed to the free, fair and transparent conduct of this exercise.

· I also thank our party’s national leaders, especially those from the southwest that have worked behind the scenes to ensure this process is as free of rancour and strife as possible. We count on them following through with their promise to reunite and strengthen the cohesion of all stakeholders in our great party in Ekiti state in the coming days.

· Distinguished ladies and gentlemen, I thank you, once again. Alale Ekiti a gbe a o.

H.E Dr. Kayode Fayemi,
