Ekiti State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in last Saturday’s election got yesterday a reply to his threat to challenge the result in court. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the supervisor of the poll, told Prof. Kolapo Olusola –Eleka to head for the election tribunal. All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Kayode Fayemi won the election, which was widely adjudged to be free and fair. Also yesterday, Ekit State Governor Ayodele Fayose faulted the outcome of the poll. Fayose described Fayiemi’s victory as temporary, adding that it would be upturned at the tribunal. He alleged that nobody was rejoicing in the state, asking why people were not celebrating if the result reflected the will of the people. Ado-Ekiti, the state capital, was in a carnival mood on Sunday when Fayemi’s motorcade from his Isan home drove slowly to the APC’s secretariat, where he addressed a huge crowd of dancing and singing party supporters and residents. APC National Chairman Adams Oshiomhole said the ruling party was celebrating the outcome of the election because “under President Muhammadu Buhari’s government, we now can see that election can be conducted without people being hospitalised or some finding their way to the grave because they have been killed in the process.” INEC insisted that the result of the election was a reflection of the will of the people. The agency’s Director of Voter Education and Publicity, Mr. Wole Osaze-Uzzi, said: “INEC welcomes the decision of Prof. Eleka to go to the tribunal on the outcome of the governorship election. That is the proper thing to do. “Legal process is a better resort than making inciting statements and engaging in media trial. We welcome judicial intervention on disputes arising from the election. Just like in the case of Edo State, it is left to Eleka to prove his case before the tribunal.” Osaze-Uzzi rated the outcome of the election as “good and a fair reflection of the will of the people of Ekiti State”. “Even international and local observers rated the conduct of the poll as good,” he said, adding: “We have been receiving preliminary reports from the accredited Civil Society Organisations (CSOs). Most of those in the so-called Coalition of Civil Society Groups were not accredited for the poll by INEC. “The materials and logistics were on spot and accreditation of voters started as and when due in more than 92 per cent of the polling units.” Responding to a question, Osaze-Uzzi said: “INEC is yet to have a post-mortem session on the poll but we have received oral briefing from some of our National Commissioners and others on ground. “Certainly, we will hold a post-mortem meeting when all officials are fully back.” Fayose said Buhari’s endorsement of the poll he described as a “charade” showed that the President lacked democratic credentials. http://kikiotolu.com/ekiti-election-inec-dares-olusola-eleka-to-head-for-court/

Deputy Governor of Ekiti State and candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in Saturday governorship poll, Kolapo Olusola has rejected the results of the poll as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which declared All Progressive Congress (APC) Kayode Fayemi as winner. Olusola justified his claims with allegations of intimidation, oppression and inducement by security agents which he claimed aided and abetted APC’s alleged manipulation of the electoral process that all gave Fayemi the victory. He declared his rejection of the poll’s result to Nigerians, Ekiti people and the international community, saying: ” You are all aware of the unfortunate and dangerous events of the past 24 hours, in which our governorship election was hijacked by political desperadoes leveraging on “Federal might” to pervert the electoral process, subvert the will of Ekiti people, and viciously steal the mandate willingly and freely given to me on a massive scale by our people. PDP and I won the election overwhelmingly, receiving more than 70% of lawful votes cast and winning in almost all of the State’s 16 local government areas. I therefore reject the falsified results being bandied by the Independent National Electoral Commission, which purportedly gave the election to the All Progressives Congress and its Candidate; Dr. John Kayode Fayemi,” he said. Olusola described the alleged manipulation of the poll as:” most audacious electoral robbery of our recent history”, which: “shall not stand”. He alleged further that APC rigged the poll by leveraging on: ” its well-advertised but patently obnoxious and anti-democratic “Federal might” to intimidate, harass, victimize, oppress, and brutalize PDP leaders, members, and the voting public all over Ekiti “, saying; “This brutal and barbaric process, which started well before the election, did not spare Governor Ayo Fayose and me; as the whole world had seen and had condemned. It is quite unfortunate that the harassment has continued even after the election. ” Taking on the INEC, Olusola said:”On Saturday, July 14th, the security agencies and INEC upped the ante, threw all caution to the wind, went back on their promises to be impartial and to conduct credible elections; they sided with APC and Fayemi to the chagrin of our party, myself, and the good people of Ekiti State. Despite the alarm we had earlier raised, the security agencies not only supported but also supervised the indiscriminate arrest of our party leaders and agents, the harassment and brutalization of voters on a massive scale, especially in Ado-Ekiti, Ikere and the suburbs, giving cover, tacit as well as active support to thugs imported into Ekiti by APC to snatch ballot boxes, create confusion, cause mayhem, and drive away voters in PDP strongholds, giving cover to APC agents as they financially and openly induced voters and bought votes at polling stations; and driving away our polling agents from collation centres and illegal seizure of documents and materials in their possession, among many other infractions.” “INEC on its own part reneged on its promise to have results counted, declared, and pasted on the wall of each polling station. There was nowhere INEC transmitted results from the polling centres as earlier promised. Ballot boxes were illegally moved to INEC offices while our agents were disallowed from following the process. ” INEC also allowed late voting by APC in hideouts when it was obvious the figures still would not add up after all the infractions mentioned above. Still, when all of these shenanigans still failed to give them the figures they needed, they stopped the announcement of results ward-by-ward, caused a deliberate power outage at the collation centre, with no alternative source of power provided for a long time, and then wrote results in favour of APC and its candidate. “Without doubt, what has played out in Ekiti is the APC template for the 2019 General Election, where they have mapped out Rivers and Akwa Ibom as States they must capture at all costs, like they are now trying to do Ekiti. It is now left for the opposition and opposition figures, most especially presidential hopefuls in 2019, to stand up to be counted in the struggle to roll back President Muhammadu Buhari’s creeping fascism, or throw in the towel without a fight. ” This is not just a sad day for Ekiti but also for democracy in Nigeria. Nothing demonstrates this better than the gloom that has enveloped our dear State since they announced their convoluted result. Ekiti mourns! But I ask our people not to be despondent but to keep hope alive, quoting the inimitable Chief MKO Abiola. This is another battle we will fight and win. “In doing this, however, I appeal to all Ekiti sons and daughters to eschew violence. They will try and provoke you but the good Lord will help you to keep calm. Taking a cue from our great leader and democrat par excellence, ex-President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, I wish to reiterate that my ambition is not worth the blood of a single Ekiti son or daughter. We are not cultists and bloody hounds like them and shall therefore not allow them turn Ekiti into a killing field like they have done in the Middle Belt. “It remains for me to thank Ekiti for standing by me and our great party. Our royal fathers and the Oloris, teachers, civil servants, Okada riders, Labour leaders, market women, artisans, and students – I appreciate your unflinching support. We thank every Nigerian desirous to see the growth and defence of our renascent democracy. “We thank the international community for their efforts and trust they will not let our people down in this their most trying moment. Those bent on setting this country on fire for selfish reasons must be restrained and turned back by the international community, mindful of the recent experience of Rwanda, Kosovo, Liberia, Sierra-Leone, Cote D’Ivoire, to mention but a few,” he said http://kikiotolu.com/breaking-kolapo-olusola-rejects-ekiti-election-results-heads-to-election-tribunal/

A renowned blind cleric, Prophet Muideen Kasali , has warned against subverting the will of the people and that of God in Ekiti on the July 14 Governorship election, saying such may scuttle Nigeria democracy. Prophet Kasali also called on the Federal Government to put an end to the insurgency and incessant killings in some parts of the country before the 2019 presidential election. The popular blind cleric who is the General Overseer of the Hour of Mercy Prayer Ministry Worldwide(Oke Alaseyori), spoke during the July edition of the monthly Hour of Mercy programme of the church in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital. He urged politicians in the state to eschew violence and not turn the state into a battle field in the name of election saying God will avenge such unwholesome acts on the household of whoever is plotting such. Speaking further on Ekiti, the cleric said the 2018 governorship election in Ekiti State would be full of surprises. “God told me mighty men will fall in the election and the humble shall be exalted to bring a man after His heart to succeed Governor Ayodele Fayose. This He said will happen in a miraculous way. ” Politicians must not promote violence in the coming Ekiti election. God said He would visit His anger on the household of whoever does that. The results of the election must not be manipulated. Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and other stakeholders in the election must be fair and thorough in their conducts. “Votes of Ekiti people must be allowed to count. The electoral process must not manipulated in favour of any candidate and actual winner declared winner of the election. God told me if the conduct of Ekiti election is fraudulent, the 2019 general election will fail. “We must be careful to do the right thing concerning Ekiti elections otherwise, it may mark the end of democracy in the country. Thousands of vision and prophecies may not work, President Muhammdu Buhari must take the issue of security seriously in this country. If adequate security of lives and property cannot be guaranteed, God said we should forget the 2019 elections. ” He, however, said God promised to prove himself as far as 2019 is concerned but was not told how He will go about it. On the killer herdsmen activities in the country, the cleric said God is set to intervene in the situation as their operations will be curtailed soon. “Power will change hand on the activities of the killer herdsmen soon. Their sponsors and promoters will soon be fished out, apprehended and prosecuted. God said we should should relax and see what He is about to do about them. What we do not know is that, those that are behind their operations are somewhere plotting to wreak havoc on daily basis, but it is another thing and and different people we are suspecting to be the brains behind the heinous crime they are committing”. Commenting on the plan by the federal government’s intention to establish cattle ranches across the country to curb herdsmen/ farmers clashes, he said that may not be solution as other groups in the related business could be making such demand which may the difficult for government to meet. Kasali urged Nigerians to continue to pray for President Buhari , to be able to deliver on his electioneering campaign to the people. http://kikiotolu.com/god-told-me-if-ekiti-election-is-fraudulent-2019-general-election-will-fail-prophet-warns/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 Dominique Fynestboi Ishilove

Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has told National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, that his “Edo State option” in Ekiti will fail. He stated that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will win next Saturday’s poll because the people were behind the party. The Governor spoke in Ado-Ekiti on Saturday through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Idowu Adelusi. Fayose was reacting to a statement credited to Oshiomhole that the he and the PDP were being haunted and jittery about the coming election. He said; “Oshiomole’s secret plan to use his fraudulent Edo template in Ekiti will never work and it will attract injurious consequences. This is because Ekiti people are resolutely determined to resist rigging right on the spot. “Contrary to Adams’ diatribe, rumour peddling and rabble rousing unbecoming of an ex- governor and national chairman of the ruling party, Fayose and PDP are only interested in credible election. “Fayose and PDP are raising the alarm because of tell-tale signs that APC and Fayemi are plotting to rig the election. “The statements by top APC leaders including its former chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun that they must capture Ekiti by all means are very instructive in this regard. “Nigerians witnessed the blatant rigging of Ondo and Edo governorship elections by the APC. In Ondo, it was shameless vote buying. In Edo they stopped vote counting when it was clear PDP was winning and changed the results overnight. Seeing these, who will ask us to stay stupid? “Adams Oshiomhole was the mastermind of Edo rigging. He is only calling Fayose the name that rightly belongs to him (Oshiomhole)”. Fayose added that the 2014 governorship election that the APC and its leaders tried to rubbish, was declared by US and international community as free and fair and as reference point for future elections in Nigeria. “If Adams Oshiomhole still has problems with that election, he should address his misgivings to the US and international community. “Besides, APC challenged the election up to the Supreme Court but lost. Is Adams Oshiomhole disputing and despising the highest court of the land? It must be noted that he himself became governor by the same court judgment. “In case Adams Oshiomhole does not know, his record of double-dealing and collusion with ex-President Obasanjo to enrich himself as NLC President while deceiving workers and the suffering masses is in the public domain. “This fake Comrade hob-nobbed with OBJ in the night but came out in the day to deceive workers with empty rhetoric. In the end, OBJ hiked fuel price many times under Adams Oshiomhole’s nose. Nigerians suffered while Adam Oshiomhole smiled to the bank. “Nigerians have not forgotten how wicked and cold-blooded he is with his “widow my foot” statement to that poor Edo state woman. He told the woman to “go and die”. This contrasts sharply with Fayose’s empathy for the poor and the down-trodden. “Adams Oshiomhole is a compulsive liar and power-hungry politician willing to rubbish his benefactors and kow-tow to bloody dictators who will butter his bread. He betrayed Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. He did similarly to his own kinsman Odigie-Oyegun – all in a bid to run errands for jihadists and reactionary elements. “The shameless lies peddled by Adams Oshiomhole are a blight on the high office he occupies. How, for instance, do you direct lecturers to award marks to students? How do you identify students voting PDP? The election is still in the future: How do you even know who will vote and who will not vote, not to talk of voting PDP? How do you know which lecturer is for you and which is not? And how do you ensure that marks are awarded? This is ridiculous and bizzare in the utmost. “He must be told that it is not a crime to photocopy one’s credentials or documents. Everyone does it for security reasons. Can Adams swear that he does not photocopy his documents? In case of loss, photocopies help to fill the void and save us unnecessary embarrassment or inconveniences. “The real reason why APC is instigating the arrest of teachers is because they know the teachers will vote against Fayemi on July 14. They are on a mission to intimidate teachers and disenfranchise as many of them as possible. Ekiti people will resist them by all means possible. They will fail. “What Ekiti people have already suspected was confirmed by loquacious Adams: that the APC – led Federal government is delaying the release of federal allocation so that Ekiti government will not be able to pay salaries, which they can then use to campaign. This is wickedness of the highest order. It is man’s inhumanity to man. “But what do we expect from a people and government not bothered by the daily shedding of innocent blood under their nose? Has Adams at any time spoken against the murderous herdsmen even when they killed his people in Edo state? Can the government he fraudulently installed in Edo dare what we did in Ekiti to contain the murderous herdsmen? Is it not true that Fayemi has demonstrated his soft spot for the herdsmen through his speeches, actions and inactions? “We sound it loud and clear that we will not abrogate our anti-grazing law in the same way we will resist APC agenda to take Ekiti by force by manipulating the coming election. “Adams himself said it all: He mentioned that Nigerians rejected APC in Osun, Anambra and Bayelsa. He forgot to mention Oyo state as well. In like manner APC will be rejected overwhelmingly by Ekiti people next Saturday. “APC is factionalised right under Adams’ nose. If he does not consider that enough trouble, he will meet his Waterloo in Ekiti come July 14 when Ekiti people will seal his running mouth for him.” http://kikiotolu.com/oshiomhole-an-election-rigger-a-fake-comrade-obasanjo-bribed-severally-fayose-explodes/

The child bride is said to be from a poor home and her impoverished parents reportedly agreed to the marriage on the condition that she lived with them until she was 16 before she moves in with her husband who is a scrap rubber dealer. On Sunday, the much older groom defended his actions, claiming that he had not eloped and had married her with permission of her family. “I was disappointed with various criticisms and allegations made against me in the social media after I took her as my third wife,” he told The Borneo Post . He added that he did not intend to live with the girl until she was 16 and would get a marriage certificate at that point. In reaction to the marriage, UNICEF’s representative in Malaysia Marianne Clark-Hattingh said: “It is shocking and unacceptable and not in the best interest of the child. It is a violation of her rights.” The minimum legal age for marriage in Malaysia under civil law is 18. However, girls can marry at 16 with the permission of their state’s chief minister, while Islamic law sets a 16-year minimum age for girls and allows even earlier marriages with the permission of the sharia court. http://kikiotolu.com/41-year-old-muslim-man-with-two-wives-weds-11-year-old-girl-as-third-wife/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 Dominique Fynestboi Ishilove
