seriously, i will always admire the following ppl 1. gamaliel onosode (business/corporate world) 2. gani fawehinmi (humanity) 3. denzel washington (holywood) 4. martin luther king jr. 5. bill clinton (never mind the monica lewisky scandal) 6. Lagbaja (originality and creativity) 7. Fela Anikulapo (minus the many wives and drug abuse. loved what he stood for fairness, justice, equality) |
1 Snoopy Dogg 2. OBJ 3. mike tyson 4. diego maradona 5. jerry useni ![]() |
much as i dont have issues with my partner picking my calls, it should be said however, that marriage should not completely erode my privacy and personal space. married?yes, but we are still individuals and it is only civil to give each other some "privacy" ![]() |
i just finished an MBA finance & Investment in UK and would be willing to work in a place like ARM. do you have an idea of what the mid-level management role might be |
most banks require cisco engineers to support their networks. i used to be with intercontinental bank and i remember we had a very strong networking/telecom unit in the IT department and CCNA counted a lot towards promotion. cisco engineers are needed in banks, isps, telcos etc. how could anybody trivialize the relevance of cisco engineers in the market |
has anyone tried left-over eba and hot ila-alasepo the following morning? ![]() |
Is PRINCE2 useful or applicable in nigeria, or rather is any one in the house aware of any institution that uses PRINCE2 a project management methodology in naija |
let us define the issue very well what would these ppl say about living in nigeria 1. a family man with six children living in one bedroom in ajegunle 2. a university graduate with 2.1 without a decent job for 6 years 3. a six year old selling pure water at ojota garage 4. a trader in mile 12 that is constantly been harrassed by council 5. a farmer in the village who can barerly feed survive even though he feeds the nation 6. a friend of mine who had to pay =N=60,000 to recover his stolen car from police 7. a teacher who has not received a salary in 5 months. 8. a banker stuck in the hold-up in third mainland bridge on monday morning. lets not be overly sentimental, if you are not boxed up as in really boxed up nothing for you except the night pepper soup and beer joint which i dont consider as life. if you have not lived in other parts of the world, nigeria may be the place to be. dont get me wrong, when i have some little change, i love to go back home and unwind, but afer two weeks , i completely loose interest . my submission. |
scorpido, have you forgotten that " he who runs away from fight today will live to fight another day". let us not pretend we have the wherewithal to lock horns with the powers that be. if the Gani faweyinmi's, the anikulapos, the solarins, the balarabes, the utomis cannot effect any significant change , whats makes you think a recent graduate can do a lot. my candid opinion is that if you are not from the dangotes, the abiolas, the babangidas, the abachas, the adenuga and you have the opportunity to jet out, by all means do it especially for studies. you will be better prepared to deal with some of our many challenges with the education and exposure in the West. |
what you need is a sales person or a marketer, certainly not a partner. you could find loads of such guys in alaba and oshodi |
if i get you write , you seem to need a "dummy" that would front for your impeccable genius. a mere extension of your brilliance and business prowess. somebody who may not understand the WHYs and WHATs of a stands for. what do you take this forum for, a bunch of uneducated fellas i suppose, |
manp, do you have a website and what is IIMR if i may ask. |
much as the bedroom is key in marriage, marriage is not all about sex. remember when you marry in nigeria context, you actually marry your wife's family vis-versa. that is the stack reality. the woman i have been married to in five years was like lady A. infact she was a virgin (yes a virgin) and sex was a bore initially, but with time , patience and of course see adult movies together. i tell you she is a bomb in the bedroom as i speak. if you marry for sex, strictly, its only a matter of time, your eye will clear and her sex antics would not be able to make up for her vices. a good natured lady has a chance of improving in the bedroom. |
can any one avail me designs for a block(4 flats) of 3 bedroom apartment on a plot of land. ill appreciate all contributions niyifola@yahoo.com |
i have a plot of land valued at =N=3.5m in sangotedo area (after Lagos Business School new site), i am about developing but i need advice on how best to increase my return on investment: either a block(4)(3-bedroom) flats or a twin duplex. i must say that the project is strictly for investment purposes. ill appreciate your suggestions |
pls what and where do you work. i was wondering if there is demand for such skill in naija |
i tot the issue of osu has been banished to history. in my honest opinion any person or group of persons that still hold this barbaric views about others in this age should themselves be considered as outcasts |
talking strictly from experience and a professional stand point A used or tokunbo laptop is a gamble ( just like the "no testing" electronics market in alaba. It is purely a game of chance. you may be lucky to buy a very good used laptop , but if you are not so lucky, you could actually buy a scrap. a refurbished laptop however may be more reliable, i have used a refurbished laptop for almost a year without a fault to date. That said, i will only recommend a brand new laptop any any day if you have the bucks. you dont have to buy a branded one like dell, sony or ibm, there are equally good and reliable brands like acer, hp , logic etc that you can get with a lower budget. i hope this helps |
Any PRACTICING Certified Ethical hacker in the house pls? |
a job that would guaranty a steady source of decent income, that would be mentally challenging, that would give me room to travel and meet people, and of course it will also be such that would not require me to be in an office by 0800am |
i bought a plot of land in sangotedo (after ajah) late 2004 for 700k, my neighbour that just sold his recently sold it for =N=3.8m which comes to more than 500% appreciation in less than3 years. to that extent, ill vote for real estate any day especially for long term investment. the only comma would be getting the land from a genuine source. land palaver in naijais a different story (omo onile and stuffs like that) |
has anyone the link to this opray show? |
Folks, this in my opinion is not strictly an Igbo issue but a nigerian issue for two reasons 1. Our rubbish values and parameters for measuring success 2. Our population ( if you consider the fact that in every 5 black man, 1 is a nigerian). It therefore means that for every 10 crimes committed by a black man, chances are that 2 naija person will be involved. So if its down to ratio , not numbers, we may not appears as notorious Going back to our values, i think we have all as a nation, missed the point. we are just too materialistic and vain. we like impress , oppress , harass and intimidate with our achievements, profiles, career, wealth and class. Go to any nigerian church especially in UK and you will soon notice that in no time you'll be under pressure to have a change of wardrobe. Dont get me wrong, i am absolutely and completely against any form of "thiefry", the point am trying to make is that the values and culture is putting so many of our folks under too much pressure to measure up. until mammon seizes to be our god and honesty, hard-work, service and humanity becomes our ethos, more of such gory tales will continue. It is more than likely that the 20 richest nigerians as we speak will either be ex-military heads of states or their close associates. let's not castigate the our Igbo borthers too much, we are all guilty of the same vices |
i insist that in Nigeria context. it's more about who you know than what you know and it does appear to me that , companies deliberately patronise these so called consultant for two reasons 1. to keep them in job 2. to identify with their brands ( an obscure company requesting the services of PWC for instance more often than not is trying to gain some reputation on the back of an establshed brand PWC) 3. at times CEOs have a lot to gain materially from employing the services of a consultants. i stand by these points 100% having worked for a consulting company and a bank at different times. |
if i were you, ill forget the effizy for now and put the money in the stock market and who are you trying to impress anyway? |
Guys lets strike a balance here 1. Discrimination on the bases of age should be illegal 2. We can not all be entrepreneurs, as we all have different chemistry and configs. 3. ideally, at 40 i would imagine you should start considering being on your own. If however a 50 year old choses to remain an employee and retire at 70, he should not be castigated or discriminated against on the grounds of age. 4. am very sure most of our parents especially those from west coast of nigeria were not enterprenuers. they played safe in a paid job and they supported us through our education. they would not dare go it alone. some of us can even ridicle them for their timidity, but am sure most of us would not be where we are today, if our parents had taken some uncalculated risk and had been able to recover from it. in summary, much as i am in favour of "doing your own thing" 100%, we should not give the impression that those who have chosen to be an employee all through their career are dumb or unintelligent. An entreprenuer is not necessarily more intelligent than an employee. |
can i have your contact pls. you may reach me on 07888639164 |
how is CIMA different from ACCA. which might be more relevant to a business analyst |
anyone with an idea of how to get 100% mortgage in UK. i learnt there are brokers out there who could help along that line. anyone with detailed knowledge or experience about this |
i have a plot worth =N=4.0m in Ajah area of Lagos. i am about developing but am at a loss as to a better option between a twin duplex or a 4(3 bedroom ) flats. i do not intend to live there , strictly for investment purposes. is there a architect in the house that could enlighten me on how to maximise my ROI. |
my submission would be the following: 1. you dont have to be super intelligent to be a consultant 2. consultancy is most about names and brands than service 3. consultants are people you pay huge money to teach you what you already know i am speaking from 5 years experience in an IT department of a reputable bank in nigeria. i remember we had Consultants from accenture and telnet but i wasnt particularly impressed with their solutions, when they had come and gone, we had to locally find a more cost effective solution to the compounded issue. in effect, start small, give it 110% and in no time you will build a reputation |
Can someone , especially a foreign student get a 100% for a house in UK?. i learnt it is possible, any thoughts on this from the house? |
