Nightshift: Which other Nigerian state is richer than Lagos state? According to world Bank, Lagos has an annual GDP Of over $45 billion. This figure could make Lagos the 5th largest economy in Africa, if it were a country. Lagos state is Nigeria's numero unno!
GDP money is not the states money, taxes and allocations which formulates the actual budget the state functions with and we are talking about 3-4 billion which is nothing. There are states in Nigeria with less than a quarter if lagos states population with the same budget like lagos state. They are way way richer than lagos state.

GDP is only a reflection of the economy and never what's you going inside the states pocket.

I know you problem and what's eating your grapes. You hate to see lagos in such good light and its killing you hence your ignorant and retarded nonsense about some federal commercial capital. You can not progress in life with all the hate and bad bele garbage you carry into anything Lagos.

Look here, Shebi you are from somewhere in Nigeria so how come you don't start topics about your own state or where your are from? I know why, you are ashamed of your village because there is nothing going on there to be proud of or show anybody.

It is not lagos's fault that you are saddled with corrupt and incompetent leaders in your village.

unfortunately for you and your kind, they don't grow good and.competent leaders on trees, its in the the blood and make up so your future is very sad and bleak .

The only responsible government with enough competency and capacity to make this work is the lagos state government, but unfortunately, they don't have the land. Still they should just let them make use of the lands they acquired out of state and give them all the support the other governments lacks to make it work.

There they go again with their Yoruba and tribal fixations. This is how they start, but their babysitter mods are no where to be found or call them to order before the other side responds.

How many ibo mods do you need to protect and baby sit ibo posters on NL? Are they the only members around here?

This is just another silly and misguided effort because the situation remains the same until they change their attitude. It's pointless spinning your wheels simply because the usual characters can not stop looking for trouble.

Basically, you can not get any kind of respect from the people you don't respect.. at least not not now because I remember you people used to have it your way all day everyday while we ignore you and also while the same people who are.trying to project you now looked the other way and let it get out of hand because some of us said enough is enough in our own way.

We sit here and watch while you people run wild, while you start threads just to trash Awo and other Yoruba leaders and while seun and his mods looked the other way.

Unless you people change your behavior and quit acting as.if the sun rise and set on your asss, the situation remains theu same, you'll get paid back accordingly regardless of any amount of baby sitting mods they put here to babysit you.

1. They need to stop looking for trouble.

2. They need to stop starting tribal threads.

3. They need to stop their tribal attacks on progress and developments outside their borders or in other peoples region.

4. They need to put their anger, hate and bitterness in check.

Change your ways, that's the only solution.

PoliticsRe: I Will Re-Construct Ijebu-Ode FG Road - Amosun by ekoilee: 2:50pm On Apr 10, 2013
ocelot2006: Your arguement still doesn't change the fact that Ogun state can not takeover a FG road. What stops Amosun from reaching out to the FG so as to reach an agreement on the road's reconstruction and possible reimbursement of the state, and then take the glory (or at least part of it) for a job done? Why try to score cheap political goals by picking a fight with the FG (a fight that he'll definitely lose)?
And what makes you think they didn't ask for permission? Did they not obstruct the Lagos state government even after they gave the same Lagos state goverment the go ahead to reconstruct the Lagos badagry express they neglected and let rot for deacades because of their incompetency, corruption and lack of care?

They obstructed with the Eko Atlantic even after giving the go ahead.

What about Ikorodu road that doesn't even belong to them because they ceded the road to the Lagos state government under OBJ, they still obstructed right?

We are talking about a bunch of confused, clueless and egotistical people with no sense of duty, no sense of country or care for anything. They don't know their job duites or obligatiosn and due process is the last thing on their mind.

It's very sad and pathetic that some of you are defending the same federal government that doesn't give a damn about you, it's own due process and moral obligation to fix the roads and look out for the people they swore to look out for.

You are on the side of incompetency, cluelessness, corruption and redundancy, I'm not on tht side and I'll never be.

phantom: At this stage in our national life, government has no business doing this sort of thing.its still the rich folks who ll afford to live here as they can if it was to be a private initiative.from what i see, the middle class still wont be able to afford those apartments.waste of funds IMHO and another one of those 'see,i am working' type of projects.the funds would have been better channeled to health or education.the funds used here can at least buy defibrillators for our hospitals.apart from luth and some big private health centres in lagos, where else do we have mri or ct machines.they each dont cost above 300million.pity!
If the private sectors and investors are not investing in public real estate, then how are you going to house the millions looking for housing and thousands more entering Lagos daily if the government don't? Sombody got to lift a finger.

I've read times uncountable on NL how many of you complain all day about lack of housing and how the government is not investing in housing, when you prove them wrong, the same people quickly and conviniently delve into other irrelevant stories.

Funny enough, many of them are from states where their governors haven't commissioned common boreole in years talk less any kind of meaningful project...
