Ignore list = selfish? Lol. So I take it no ignore lists? Do you understand the point that people have different tastes, and that what others might consider spam/trolling, others find entertaining? |
Kilode: lol ![]() |
Well there is no logical reason for us to have to rely on him alone. Plus we all have different tastes. Easiest way to deal with this is to just have ignore lists... |
I don't think anyone is getting angry/mad. I just don't want to see them... Like i said, annoying to be reading a thread and then just have endless amounts of picture spam. It is a waste of time.. |
Unfortunately, spam and trollish posts = more clicks, more posts = more revenue |
@auwal87, I've been following your posts and wish to inform you that you are under my radar. Most of us do not share your wish to destroy our country. You are on notice. Those who continue to support the very minority of Moslems who have hijacked islam with their warped interpretations will be vigorously opposed. Additionally, those of you who continue to support the 'leaders' who have brought nothing but sorrow to our people, have their days numbered. I'd strongly recommend that people like you should migrate to Yemen or Somalia. olodo
lmao ![]() Up auwal87 |
Unfortunately, I suspect that this easy-to-implement feature might not be so appealing to management, for traffic/revenue reasons... |
It is just annoying sometimes when you are reading a thread and then it suddenly gets spammed. In other forums I visit, not only are there ignore lists, but spammy, off-topic posts get deleted. Doesn't look like they have enough moderators here to do that...so give me ignore list so I can take care of the issue myself |
gidiMonsta: Yeye, even almighty US cannot level a country d size of S Korea in 3-4 mins much less a country of hungry soldiers and untested weapons.Yes the US can (at least the major population centers..) North Korea can too....do some reading |
So the previous version of NL had this, but it actually didn't work. Any chance we can get it on this version? Shouldn't be too hard to implement.. |
lmao, picture spam time. Why on earth isn't there an ignore list on this site? |
Thoughts on mainstream Yoruba language supplanting the dialects? The advantages are pretty big I think, and certainly outweigh the costs. But I suppose that there is a loss of uniqueness/culture, increased homogeneity as a result of this too.. |
Regarding Ekiti dialect...to be quite honest I'm not sure whether the dialect in my town is closer to Ekiti or Ijesha (we live near the border of the two groups..) I do know that our dialect sounds kind of strange to mainstream Yoruba though ![]() |
Desola you can probably understand more of that than you think. Even I can hear a bit of it...and I'm not exactly the most fluent in yoruba ![]() |
alj_harem and Desola: No, actually they are legitimately of mixed origins. The dominant ancestry seems to be Yoruba though. But they captured a lot of slaves from neighboring ethnic groups, and evidently had some Igala and Edo mixed in as well. Actually would be interesting to know what the exact percentages are...I wonder if any scientists have studied it. |
Ilaje44: Have you read written Ishekiri? You should do! As a Yoruba, it is even more intelligible to you than the spoken language. It is like German and Dutch!!! You would be amazed. No I definitely know...I've listened to some of the bible in Itsekiri before. German and Dutch is the right analogy...or Spanish/Portuguese. Someone fluent in one can probably quite easily understand the other. |
Why would you even put Itsekiri and Ilaje in the same sentence. The former is a group of people of mixed ancestry/origins, despite speaking a language quite similar to Yoruba (though technically classified as a different language.) The latter are not... Listen, I know it is cute again to make it seem as though Yoruba folk and Yoruba-inclined folk who have oil are in fact not Yoruba. After all, that is something that seems to be a big issue with your people. But it isn't with mine. Anyway, mouth alone on the internet, the drug-addled dreams of afam4eva certainly aren't likely to have any impact.. |
Divide? Lol. Perhaps if you fix the divide between the left part of your brain and the right part of it, your life will be better off |
@Paul John: Not all of the yoruba dialects are 100% mutually intelligible. Standard Yoruba is different from the dialects. |
@Brixtonyute: Abeg, read the previous pages of this thread ![]() How can you be asking a question like this |
Heh. afam met numerous Ilajes who deny being Yoruba....then he woke up from his dream. I dunno why you guys think that there is symmetry between us...that plenty of people deny being Igbo doesn't mean there are Yoruba who deny being Yoruba. Stop lying dude... |
Uche2008: where did you get this informationwikileaks |
Desola, don't let some stuff on NL spoil your sister's personal life ![]() |
Heh. If you were a wise man, you would keep quiet after being exposed as a phony several times by an actual indigene. However, fortunately (for the purposes of keeping me and others reading this thread entertained) you are anything but a wise man ![]() Please continue...I enjoy starting my day off with laughter ![]() |
Like I said earlier...to the extent that you destroy certain narratives of political assclowns like Beaf, and idiots like Andre Uweh (using the alias oturugo) and Willy-Willy, you won't be popular with a certain crowd here ![]() Nevertheless, keep up the good work my man. |
lmao ![]() |
BahPulo: I just wanted to shed some lights in this matter I see many people refer to us as haussa- fulani in here and the opinions I read about this group here are not nice at all it makes me wonder about the real reason for these resentments their own countrymen have toward them. I don't know much about Nigeria, the only nigerian I am in contact with does not know more than I do lol she is just nigerian by name I tell her that all the time (sorry Nneeka darling if u see this i could not help myself, but I try my best to stay inform. it's not acceptable to have access to a computer, and say certain things. Google is freeeee!Heh. I don't have any beef towards Fulani from outside of Nigeria. The ones from Guinea and co seem to be mostly fine people. It is the ones who are in Nigeria who I hate. For a variety of reasons, not too sure how much sense it makes for you to get offended if I diss the Nigerian ones... |
I personally don't think it is worthwhile. However, my sister is doing it and seems to be having some success potentially leveraging this into a high paying job in Nigeria once she finishes. YMMV basically. |
