funlord:Am I Ibrahimovic? Moreover, Ronaldo said Rooney helped him when he joined him at United. |
codedguy1:Madrid is star studded. Ibrahimovic did not compare Ronaldo and Rooney. He was talking about help, something Ronaldo admitted to recently. |
chrisley024:That very time Valencia missed stepped trying to cut into the box, I knew he had picked an injury. Schneiderlin and Schweinsteiger to play our midfield. |
IBRAHIMOVIC: RONALDO TOOK THE CREDIT FOR ROONEY'S WORK Zlatan Ibrahimovic believes Cristiano Ronaldo took the credit for Wayne Rooney's unselfish work during their time together at Manchester United. The pair helped fire United to Champions League glory in 2008, with Ronaldo winning the Ballon d'Or the following January for his efforts the previous season. However, Ibrahimovic feels Ronaldo would not have been able to shine if it wasn't for Rooney's hard work. "These great players, they have their moments over one to three years. But to continue over five years, for 10 years the way Wayne Rooney has done is not easy. It's pressure everyday playing for a big team," Ibrahimovic told the BBC. "He runs a lot, he fights a lot, he sacrifices a lot,. "When he played with Cristiano Ronaldo all the work was done by Rooney, but he didn't get the credit because Ronaldo was scoring all of the goals. "I'd prefer to have him in my team than play against him. I've not been lucky enough to play with him but I enjoy seeing him on the pitch - if I cannot play with him, I will watch him." http://m.goal.com/s/en-gb/news/2896/premier-league/2015/09/29/15829642/ibrahimovic-ronaldo-took-the-credit-for-rooneys-work |
Michael Carrick, Ander Herrera, Antonio Valencia and Marcos Rojo missed the session at the Aon Training Complex in Carrington on Tuesday morning. -Skysports |
We should be happy to have Schweinsteiger helping our young players. They will learn from all the senior players. |
“He [Darmian] gives too much space on Tadic in my opinion and Tadic was the most dangerous man,” van Gaal said. “That is why I have changed him and Valencia did very well – I didn’t see Tadic anymore in the second half.” Players have different attributes. Valencia may not be a natural defender but what he offers to the team is enormous. His major weakness is his poor aerial ability, in my assessment. While he might not have the positioning of a natural defender, its compensated for by many other things he offers. We are less likely to come under pressure when he plays as our ball retention increases so much when he plays, coupled with the fact he will push the opposition defence back. |
SailorXY:You are tight. Ramirez used to be very important for them particularly on the way to winning UCL. He's getting his form back. But you know Hazard is not a natural goal scorer. He dribbled three players into the box but his shot was blocked by a defender who threw his body in from nowhere. |
SailorXY:Without Hazard's inspiration, ten Ramirez wouldn't have done nothing. Did you see two defenders were always on Hazard whenever he had the ball? |
SailorXY:You did not see the game? When they were down he inspired them with direct play into danger areas. He assisted Ramirez 's goal. Newcastle had to start fouling him and that led to so much pressure. I think one of such fouls led to the equalizing goal. He was unlucky not to get a goal of his own after going past everyone on his way. |
Cristiano Ronaldo praises Man United star Wayne Rooney 13 hours ago "I miss playing with Rooney. Maybe we will play together again one day. "He was the kid of England, everyone loved him. He was so powerful I was calling him 'Pitbull.' The power of Wayne Rooney is his mentality and strength and he never stops. "He's a fantastic team player and he scores. He's a fantastic boy and he helped me a lot when he came to join us in Manchester." http://www.espnfc.com/barclays-premier-league/story/2631571 |
Before I go : ...... 26/09/2015 18:51, Report by Callum Matthews WAYNE ROONEY: MEMPHIS'S GOAL WAS MASSIVE Wayne Rooney believes Memphis’s first Barclays Premier League goal - scored on the stroke of half-time - ‘was massive’ in helping Manchester United secure all three points in Saturday’s 3-0 win against Sunderland. Rooney doubled the lead by opening his league account for 2015/16 just after the break before Juan Mata drilled home in injury time to seal the victory as the Reds moved to the top of the table. However, the captain admitted that United found the first half difficult, telling MUTV: “It was tough. We knew that from last season and Newcastle earlier in the season; they make it difficult, put bodies behind the ball and defend with their lives. They're trying to stay in the league. “Memphis's goal before half-time was a massive goal for us,” added Rooney. “If we didn’t get that, Sunderland had something to fight for and something to hold on to. It gave us a little bit more space in the second half and we played some good stuff and created some chances. In the end it was quite comfortable and a good win.” Rooney knocked home Anthony Martial’s cross in the first minute of the second half to score in England's top flight for the first time this season. “I wasn’t worried. It’s my fifth goal of the season for United and I’ve scored for England so it was just about getting off the mark in the league. Hopefully everyone will concentrate on me playing my football now and I’ll enjoy it.” The captain was also full of praise for his provider after Martial's ‘incredible’ start to life at United. “He’s been incredible. He’s a young lad, we have to remember that. I think he’ll be a big player for us this season and in the future but we need to let him enjoy his football and I’m sure he’ll have magic moments for us.” Rooney also declared the United players are enjoying their football at the moment: "We know it’s a massive season for us, with being back in Europe as well, and after the Newcastle result it was always going to be edgy. “But we’ve got over the Newcastle and Swansea games now and we’re playing some good stuff and creating some good chances. You can see the smiles on the lads' faces so we’re enjoying it. Hopefully the form continues and we carry on picking up points.” United went top for the first time under Louis van Gaal and Rooney said: “That’s what we’re all playing for, being number one at the end of the season, and it’s nice to be there now. But there’s a long way to go, it’s still early days and we have to keep working hard to make sure we can stay there or finish there at the end of the season.” |
See you guys on Wednesday. The amount of hatred towards Rooney on this thread is irritating. Against Ipswich, Herrera couldn't offer half of what Rooney offered today. He was not even seen. But Rooney had to blamed for having a good day. Na wao. |
Why do people lie about Rooney a lot. Is that a dinner to some preople? They said Rooney was losing possession? Dispossessed/Unsuccessful touch Rooney 3/1 Memphis 7/3 Martial 3/1 Mata 2/2 Schweinsteiger 2/0 Darmian 1/1 |
We hit 7 shots on target today. 12 shots overall. 8 chances created. 3 unreplied goals. This is the kind of stats you get when Rooney is hitting form and going into his element. I pray he avoids injuries because I know Rooney will do us proud. |
Good to see Rooney scored his first 'accepted goal' because he has scored before. Rooney now has 5 goals overall this season and he could hit 30 if he stays fit. He has 80% of his fitness back. It was always a matter of time. Same with many big players who had a slow start. Rooney makes our attack matured. Gave us so much option with lots of forward play today. With his rediscovery of his pacing forward with the ball, we now have a front with three men who could burst forward some yards in the final third. With his performance midweek and today, he has wholy claimed the number 10 position for the rest of the season. I am not talking of the goal but his overall play. Valencia is our unsong hero. Good game from Martial. Memphis decision making needs to improve. Ashley Young had a good day. Good to see Phil Jones. The first time this season I saw a United player won an aerial duel so neatly even though it was 60-40 in favour of the opponent. He has quick passes to complement. He doesn't need a touch of the ball to make a pass, even if it's a long pass. Good to be on top again. Lest I forget, Chelsea fans can rejoice. Hazard's form is almost fully back. He ran the show today. Sanchez was a beast. |
joeace2020: ![]() Thumb up! They even credit someone who pushed him instead of praising his body balancing to hold firmly. Everyone saw how he balanced well and hit with his knee even though he was badly pushed. |
suxxman:'Touch of An Angel ' has scored before but linesman wrongly canceled it. ![]() |
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has somehow got himself into an Anthony Martial tangle. It didn't have to happen and if the Arsenal manager hadn't been so open with the press about having tracked Martial and deciding he didn't need him then it wouldn't have happened. Wenger was quoted by L'Equipe as saying "We followed him since he was a kid. He has an exceptional talent, I agree. But the position where he plays, we have players like Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Alexis Sanchez and Joel Campbell." To which Anthony Martial's agent Philippe Lamboley replied via French and Italian media "Anthony is evolving down the middle since he was a teenager, he scores from 25 to 30 goals per year in that position. When he moves to the side, it is to better stand out from the central defenders. Too bad Mr. Wenger did not see it." "I am surprised by the analysis of Wenger. If his analysis was done to justify the non-purchase of Anthony, I accept it. But in football there are those who follow the players and those who buy them." And now L'Equipe's Bruno Constant has a reply from the Arsenal manager to claims Martial is a striker "Martial was more a winger since the beginning of his career, he played the last part of the season as a striker. "Monaco’s stance was Martial and Kurzawa wouldn't move. I thought they would maintain that but in the end both of them moved.” Martial is clearly a striker for Manchester United. He can play wide, but so what. Martial thinks he's a striker, he said as much after the transfer, his agent thinks the same, Louis van Gaal reckons he's a striker who can play wide, German data website Transfermarkt think he's a striker too, people who followed him through the youth ranks in France plump for striker too. Wenger has helped evolve players such as Thierry Henry, who he saw could be an excellent striker. The Arsenal manager needs to stop digging on this one. http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/arsene-wenger-answers-back-to-anthony-martial-agent-stop-digging |
adebayo201:Very soon? He has said it already. Martial's agent replied him in very interesting words. |
It's not that they are not satisfied with his scoring, I just think it's part of their analysis. As for me, it's just a coincidence that his goals have taken almost same pattern. We are going to see different types of goals from him. Normally when you are through on goal, you lure the keeper out of the corner you want to place the ball. You can also chip him if he goes to the ground too quickly in a bid to spread out. |
Dadehmola:I have been a supporter of Brazil and Argentina since Mexico 86. Even if they fielded skeletons. In the current Brazil team, Neymar is my main guy. I have never been a fan of Hulk. Right from when he came on board. My younger brother was his fan and we always argued way back. |
When it's said someone plays football with pace and power, it doesn't mean he is a weight lifter. I don't know how much lecture I can give on this any further to make people learn. When Martial was bought Saha said he has power and speed and that could help Man United attack. |
adebayo201:Skysports after our game against Southampton. You no know ball.
|
AdeLaNa1:If he doesn't have it to an acceptable degree already, he should forget it. No be for adult you dey learn shooting skills. Your leg muscle and brain are involved too. |
AdeLaNa1:I just hope he has accurate long range shots to add. Like hitting solid shots from 20-25 yards. Otherwise he will not be complete. |
I like Schweinsteiger. Rooney gave it to Schweinsteiger, then he in turn passed it to DDG. He behaves like Scholes.
|
Pereirra lacks maturity in my assessment. He also disappears from time to time, particularly when we are not in control. Fellaini is clearly struggling. Apart from helping us to clear crosses from our box when we came under pressure early in the second half, nothing else worked for him until we went two nil up and his position changed from number 10 to a deeper role. His chest couldn't magnet balls as he is known for, he kept knocking down for opponents. He was easily dispossessed, had many passes to opponents and two of such put us under serious pressure. Valencia brings so much option to all the people playing around him and even the goalkeeper. He gave plenty option to Schweinsteiger, Mata and his centre backs. He stretches our attack. His first time control of the ball even when marked stands him out and makes him so comfortable on the ball. People keep saying they don't like Memphis. Well to me, I have not seen any reason to blame him harshly. Martial has evething going for him. When I saw his clip, I knew he had high dribbling skills. Something I like so much in football. I like players who can beat in the final third. Martial does it with so much ease. In that clip I saw he could dribble like Sterling and he had the scoring potential of Suarez. He also has pace and power. So far he plays like Henry truly, he has added power that gives him good holding balance and aerial strength when contesting for long balls from our defenders. Ashley Young tried on the left side but we badly miss Shaw. Rojo's injury could force Gaal to play a right footer on the left side of our central defence, and that could mean less free flow passing on that side. But I still do not mind Smalling and Jones partnership. If they could replicate what they offered together in the past, we won't miss the passes. Defending first..... |
It appears you guys missed out on some many news items. Gaal made it clear Wilson and Lingaard were not needed for the match, he also gave them time to rest after their mid week match. Even from the wilderness I read some news. ....... .... Wilson and Lingard, Van Gaal said: "Today they have had a recovery day and also tomorrow is more recovery but I don't need them so they can have a day off and then Thursday they will be fresh and can train."- Gaal |
So you guys went to war on this thread? You guys really bruised yourselves to piece.... All I see is swollen faces, broken jaws.....
|
You guys should have a nice day. ![]() |
Dadehmola:Deep inside the wilderness, no one talks about illuminati Rooney. It's all prayers prayers and prayers. But I heard three players were marking him that was why others had a chance to shine so easily. I heard o. So I heard. |
