After those early games we went on a winning streak, Martial has been on and off. His off period seems higher. You might also get near same stats for another forward player who was part of the early start but has been injured for a long time afterwards.

We've been missing a CF that will link well with the forwards.. Martial did that today.

But if you remove Rashford from the starting eleven, Martial will eaisly be policed around. So it is better when we have two players opposition fear.

I know that Rashford is poor at build up play.

And I don't understand why you people keep saying Pogba is the only midfielder we have when McTominay is our second best player behind Maguire.

We have two players who are feared by defenders at same time in the field, it makes a big differnece. Also it boost the confidence of our players.

We are definitely going to get better with more game time because these guys are learning to play together.

Norwich is not sitting back defending which makes it easier.

As for the coach, guys have to undestand he is not coaching Messi, Aguero, Salah, Ronaldo, Ramos, Fernadinho, Silva, Kane, but some guys who find it hard to make the right decisions. It is also not easy to dig out when you are in a ditch.

We started well and had the possession in the early minutes. McTominay had an easy chance to nod in, but these current guys are the worst finishers since SAF lef. We hit the upright again. When Partizan tried to take the game to us, they exposed themselves and we won a penalty.

I don't mean to be harsh but young signifies our downfall. A fringe player under SAF who failed to impress other than a handful of games has become our captain and starts nearly every match.

He does more harm than good and the worst thing is that he doesn't seem to be learning from the mistakes he's been making. He still makes aimless crosses, loses the ball constantly, gets caught out of position against strong opposition and makes really dangerous challenges unnecessarily. Bros, i think you have to ask yourself which RB or LB in the league isn't an upgrade on young.

If Young wasn't good, he will not be starting. He was also a starter under SAF but injury affected his game time. He has been starting since Gaal and he does his job even at his age.

Look at the video above, it is the best view of Lalan's equalizer. In the build up play, he was manned by Young, but once the ball got near our box, Rojo manned Lalana. He stepped away from Lanana to try to clear but left the ball for no reason. Lanana could still have been offside if Rojo did not step backwards. I don't blame him much, he is match rusty. This is why Smalling should have stayed. I wonder how mmany matches Smalling has played now that he left on the excuse that he wanted game time.

It is Rojo and Lindelof that take the blame. That ball has no business crossing the central defenders. A wing back should not be in the 6 yard box normally

For a team that's not scoring much, our defending has to almost immaculate if we are to secure points.
Young and Rojo should have been tighter to their men.
There are two important aspects of the team that need to be addressed in January; a target man in attack is important. Somebody that can trouble defenders in the air and hold up play really well, and a target man in midfield beside Pogba.
When the team is under pressure, a leeway like those can ease the defense and even switch to counter attack rapidly.

Liverpool defenders and midfielders had no trouble winning clearances upfield and the knowledge that they must win the aerial challenge kept their other players firmly planted in our half, as well as killed any confidence of our midfielders attempting to join attack cuz they knew their forward had no hope of winning the cleared ball.

We should look to Zlatan for the second half of the season only.

I think Rojo actually takes the blame. The ball went through him. Rather he left it uncleared because he was scared of miscuing it with his right foot. When he thought the ball will safely go across the defence, it fell on Lalana.

What I have come to understand is that it is better to keep the players you have until you get better ones. The three players I highlighted should have still be doing some jobs.
