Good day everyone. I have a serious issue at hand. It's about loyalty and snitching. I have this friend, his name is Onos (29). Onos is practically my best friend. We've known each other for 8 years now. He's almost the only one who supports my dreams and visions. He links me up with high paying jobs, offer his skills to help me free of charge and is always talking about how we both will succeed in our common field. I rate him highly. I've sacrificed for him and he has done the same. Onos' girlfriend (27), Ruby, is my childhood friend. I've known her since I was 6 years old or so. Her family and mine have a common bond. I and Ruby had "something" back in 2014 which was shortlived. Like Onos, I've made sacrifices for Ruby over the years. She's a trustworthy and loyal friend, one whom I don't joke with. So my best friend Onos and my longterm friend, Ruby are in a relationship. Their relationship is a year and 6 months old. Whenever they have issues, I am aware. Onos mentions it to me. Ruby on the other hand gives me the "talk to your friend" kind of vibes in the midst of their fights. Onos is insecure and thinks Ruby (who is a sales rep.) is cheating on him. Ruby has called me many times to explain that even if Onos is hustling and doesn't have too much money like her other "suitors," she still loves him and can't cheat on him. They usually would settle and be all loved up again in spite of all their fights Recently something happened, they had their usual fights. Ruby was pained when she called me. She said these words; "Onos does not even have money to my taste. I have seen men who have money and offers to take good care of me. My friends even mock me for dating him. I won't let Onos break up with me, I'll make sure I break up with him and see that it pains him. For now let me keep fooling him." I was shocked to hear these words. I was dumbfounded as well. Should I call Onos to inform him of what Ruby told me? Or should I consider my long term friendship with Ruby and not snitch on her by revealing what she has said? Help guys I'm stuck! |

Back in my NYSC camp, Afikpo, Ebonyi State, I had this friend. We met at the registration desk on the first day of my arrival. He was behind me on the queue to the "Book of Life" registration. I remember cracking a joke right there, everyone laughed, he responded with another joke that prompted another loud mass of laughter. I took interest in him instantly (I'm highly attracted to sarcastic and humorous people), and we got talking instantly. We completed the registration that evening together and even "hustled" to get our mattresses and a convenient bed space. You know, it's good to have one person you're attached to in a new environment/adventure as that makes your adaption easier. We did a lot together, walked to the auditorium together, ate meals at mammy Market together, went to the parade ground together, even though we were in different platoons. Since he told me his name was John, I fondly called him Johnny. Oh the very last day of camp, the atmosphere had an exit setting. Everyone was parting ways here and there, I and Johnny parted ways at the gate. I hopped into the bus that would convey I and other corps members back to Port Harcourt and realized I hadn't exchange phone numbers with Johnny. I called him out from the bus that was already moving slowly and beckoned on him to input his phone number hurriedly as I handed out my phone to him. He inputed his phone number in less than 10 seconds and returned the phone back to me. Coincidentally my mobile data was on and truecaller displayed his number as "John Thomas." Of all names, why JOHN THOMAS? Lolz. I no save the number again, I've not heard from him for 3 months now AND THAT'S OKAY! Nothing concern me and my fellow man "amu" |

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sw1-RxomvAE Eight police officers were killed during violent anti-government protests in Sierra Leone on Wednesday, the country's youth minister told CNN Thursday, while hospital sources told Reuters that at least 21 civilians were killed in different locations in the country. The officers, six men and two women, were "brutalized" and killed in the area where the protests held on Wednesday, youth minister Mohamed Orman Bangura said. Hundreds of protesters took to the streets of the capital Freetown on Wednesday, protesting inflation and the rising cost of living in the West African country.. The protests grew violent at times. Graphic images and video of battered and seriously injured protesters and some members of security forces could be seen on social media. Security forces were also seen firing guns at citizens. Bangura said he could not immediately confirm the number of civilians killed or injured in the violent demonstrations. "We are yet to know how many people were injured, but I can confirm that eight police officers were killed." According to Reuters, at least 21 civilians were killed at different locations in the country. It reported that 13 people were shot dead in Freetown, and another eight were killed in Kamakwie and Makeni towns, citing hospital sources. Vice President Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh imposed a curfew Wednesday to quell the protests. Youth minister Bangura described the protests as an "act of terrorism." "Those are not protesters. There's a difference between protest and riot and acts of terrorism. Protesting is different from acting as a terrorist...going against the state, killing young police officers," he said.

Ever had a funny experience with the host of a program over TP FARE & LOGISTICS? Sometime in June, I got a call from this minister. He had earlier collected my number in a program where I featured in. “I'm specially inviting you to come minister at my program. I'll be glad to have you there.” After giving me the full details, I asked, “Man of God, please are there plans for my TP fare? The venue is quite a long distance from my home.” “Don't worry sir, I'll take care of your TP & Logistics. Just come & bless the people for me.” He assured. The day came. I arrived the venue, ministered alongside others & set the atmosphere on a BEANS FREQUENCY. At the end of the program, he walked up to me. “MOG sir. That was powerful. Wow!” He squeezed in an envelop into my right hand & said, “This is too small oh, but please manage it.” (It is my principle not to check [or count] the honorarium package in your presence if given to me. I'd rather check it on my way.) So I quickly deposited the envelop in my inner jacket pocket, thanked him & boarded a cab. I was highly optimistic that what our MOG gave me would cover my “TP fare & Logistics” as he promised, even if he said it was too small. Na the normal talk be that. Just as the cab started moving, I harvested the envelop from my pocket, opened it & found three ₦50 naira notes that weren't looking healthy. As in 1, 2, 3 = ₦150 I didn't know where a loud laugh with a touch of tears bursted out from, but boy, it was maaaad. I wasn't even angry that he gave me ₦150. I was angry because in his village, ₦150 could cover someone's “TP fare & Logistics.” Omor! E for better say you no give me anything at all, honestly. Especially after the assurance. Coincidentally, I had a nightmare in my sleep same night Sometime last week, the same MOG called me, inviting me for a program to minister in. He told me he'll settle my “TP fare & Logistics.” Sounds familiar. Right? I assured him that I'll be there. He thanked me & ended the call. On the day of the program, exactly 1 hour to the time, I sent him an SMS; “Good evening MOG sir. I'm so sorry, I don't think I can make it to the program. I'm on my PERIOD. It came earlier than expected.” I felt fulfilled! Gloraaaaay |

I remember sometime last month I was traveling back to Bayelsa State from Port Harcourt, in the evening. There was a very terrible traffic jam just before Mbiama bridge. Apparently, it was caused by a large number of trailers that slowed down the free movement of vehicles. The traffic jam lasted for about an hour. Some passengers in our vehicle were sleeping, others were ranting, others remained calm, while a few others like myself were lost in our phones. A little boy (of about 3 years) cried to his mother that he was pressed and needed to urinate. They were on the last passenger seat close to the window away from the bus entrance with 4 passengers per seat. She appealed to the other passengers to make way for her so her son could pee in the bush, but no one consented; they were all reluctant. “Madam, we no fit come down, this place tight and motor go soon dey move,” one passenger said. “Oya madam make him piss from the window, na small boy e be,” a young lady suggested, a few others supported. The woman welcomed the idea without hesitation and pulled his trouser down to knee level; had him stand on her laps and dispensed the already rioting fluid from his infant bladder. Halfway through the process, the unsuspecting mother and child didn't see a motorcycle approaching. Fiaaaam! Two uniformed police officers on the motorcycle were bathed with the urine. They shouted, parked the motorcycle, came to the bus entrance and forcefully opened the door. “Everybody come down,” one commanded. In unison and one accord, everyone alighted the bus. “Who get that pikin wey piss for our body?” He continued. Few hands pointed to the duo who were responsible for the chaos. They reached out to the frightened little boy who was clung to his already panicking mother, dragged him away from her, headed to their motorcycle while repeatedly saying, “We don seize am!” The mother ran after them, pleading and gesturing with her her hands seeking for forgiveness. The policemen were adamant and threatened to move away with the boy. When he saw that “matter don dey tie wrapper,” the driver got off from the bus, ran to the scene to also beg. The rest of us were unmoved, while trying to digest everything that had just happened. From afar, we watched the voiceless drama between the policemen, driver, and the chaotic duo (mother and child). After about 10 minutes, they all came back to the vehicle and we could see the policemen hop on their motorcycles and zoomed off as if nothing happened. When they got back and were seated, one man broke the silence and asked, “Madam, how una settle?” “I bail my son with 3k oh.” |

I was craving bread & groundnut with Pepsi last night (it's good to east suffer man food sometimes though), so I went to the Kiosk close by. I reside at Agip Estate, Mile 4, Port Harcourt. Got the round bread for ₦170, I asked for groundnut and the old woman said, “My son, ₦50 groundnut no dey again oh. Na ₦100 I dey sell.” I was absolutely shocked and lost for words. “This woman must be very greedy,” I said to myself. I declined and bought only the bread from her and visited the next Kiosk. Got there, “Madam evening, ground nut dey .” I said. “Yes but na ₦100,” she replied. I said no word, left hurriedly, got home and was in agony. I slept with a burdensome heart of sorrow; my heart wallowed in the deep of grief beyond the grasp of hope. I woke up this morning, remembered the ordeal last night and shouted, “Jesus! What a life.”
