That’s the way forward. |
Foolish poverty afflicted citizens. Now the same local government chairman will award contracts to rebuilt the burnt areas and the citizens will scream of looting councils funds to build the secretariat burnt down by them. |
They left Akpabio’s local government so as not to completely disgrace him. Anyway, until INEC is permitted to hold local government elections, ruling parties and governors in the respective ways will continue to have their ways. The victory is never real and will nearly always amount to nothing when state and federal elections are held. This is just like the Rivers case where Fubara used APP to win the elections last Saturday, without the presence of PDP and APC. Although he could not have proceeded with APP is PDP did not approve it. In the state elections, he will face the major battle if he does not focus on governance more that’s his battles with Mr. Wike. |
God1000:Na only your fingers crossed. And you did not read that while the Iranians were bombing that Israeli base, their aircrafts, INCLUDING their refueling aircrafts were airborne? Who told you that Israel does not have the capacity to enter Iranian airspace? Or you do not know anything about military capacities? Na so una go soon shout “e gba mi”. That’s how you lot were shouting that Israel would come to an end if Hezbollah was attacked in Lebanon. Look at Hezbollah going up in pieces right in your front and Iranian presence. Ayatollah was spirited into hiding to save his life, knowing that Iranian security had been completely infiltrated by the same Israelis. Read the excerpt below for clarity: Iran has a population ten times larger than Israel’s, from which it draws its armed forces. According to Global Firepower’s 2024 index, Iran’s population stood at 8,75,90,873. Compare this to Israel, who has a population of 90,43,387. This means that Iran has a larger pool of people to pick from. In fact, a New York Times report has stated that the Iranian armed forces are among the largest in the West Asia region, with at least 5,80,000 active-duty personnel and about 200,000 trained reserve personnel divided among the traditional army and the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps . Members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) attend an IRGC ground forces military drill in the Aras area, East Azerbaijan province, Iran. The Iranian armed forces are among the largest in the West Asia region, with at least 5,80,000 active-duty personnel and about 200,000 trained reserve personnel. This in comparison to Israel, which has 1,69,500 active military personnel in the army, navy and paramilitary. A further 4,65,000 constitute its reserve forces, while 8,000 form part of its paramilitary. However, when it comes to defence spending, Israel outclasses Iran. The Global Firepower Index reveals that Israel’s defence budget is $24 billion whereas Iran’s is $9.95 billion. However, Iran’s military establishment, especially the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), does not depend merely on the state budget for its funding, according to the Washington-based Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD). “The military establishment controls (one-fifth) of the market value of companies listed on the Tehran Stock Exchange and owns thousands of other companies, all of which generate revenue for the armed forces,” the FDD reported. “Additionally, the IRGC controls a significant portion of Iran’s underground economy.” Iran’s weaponry takes on Israel While Iran may outdo Israel in terms of sheer manpower strength, Tel Aviv holds the edge in terms of weaponry. For instance, Israel possesses more air power than Tehran. The Global Firepower Index reveals that Israel has a total of 612 aircraft, whereas Iran has 551. The one important aspect to point out is that Israel’s air force comprises the most modern fighter aircraft like F-15s, F-16s, and F-35s. But that is not the case for Iran. In Israel’s possession is also its famed multi-tiered aerial defence system, which includes the Iron Dome , David’s Sling, Arrow as well as The Patriot. However, Iran’s missile arsenal is incomparable. The International Institute for Strategic Studies has reported that Iran has one of the largest arsenals of ballistic missiles and drones in West Asia, which includes cruise missiles and anti-ship missiles, as well as ballistic missiles with ranges up to 2,000 kilometres. These have the capacity and range to hit any target, including Israel. In fact, Iran has made no secret of the build-up, displaying its trove of drones and missiles during military parades, and has ambitions to build a large export business in drones. Iran’s drones are being used by Russia in Ukraine and have surfaced in the conflict in Sudan. When it comes to land power, Israel is in possession of 1,370 tanks whereas Iran has 1,996. However, having more tanks than Israel does not by any stretch ensure military overmatch. Moreover, the Jewish nation has in its arsenal more advanced tanks such as the Merkava tanks, considered among the best-designed and heavily armoured in the world. Neither Iran or Israel have much of a naval presence, however Iran is known for its ability to launch small boat attacks. According to Global Firepower, Tehran’s fleet strength is 101 compared to 67. Additionally, it operates as many as 19 submarines, compared with Israel’s five. Iran has one of the largest arsenals of ballistic missiles and drones in West Asia, which includes cruise missiles and anti-ship missiles, as well as ballistic missiles with ranges up to 2,000 kilometres. In terms of nuclear power, Israel has the edge. According to a previous Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) report, Israel has approximately 80 nuclear weapons. Of these, approximately 30 are gravity bombs for delivery by aircraft. The remaining 50 weapons are for delivery by Jericho II medium-range ballistic missiles, which are believed to be based with their mobile launchers in caves at a military base east of Jerusalem. How can you take on a nuclear armed nation and expect that nothing terrible would not happen to you, especially when that nation perceives a threat to its very existence? Or do you think that with a threat to its existence, Russia will not use nuclear weapons against Ukraine, as already threatened by Putin? Without doubt, the Ayatollah regime is fast coming to an end. That way the rest of the world can have some peace and terrorists are completely wiped away. |
Probably Umunocha people have more contacts in the corridors of power. Looking at the picture above, they have gone very far with their constructions. |
madone:A Canadian. That’s what it is. What makes Canadians more decent than Nigerians? Or you think there is no crime or criminals in Canada. The arrest simply proves that drugs imported into Nigeria are not carried out by Nigerians only. Many foreigners would have been getting through, but this lady got caught. Now just like Canadians jail Nigerians for drug trafficking, she would be jailed too. |
Such wickedness. Should the world not be getting the point where every can carry his/her own gun for self defence? |
DWickedLandLord:No. They was granted to him by Cinderella. |
Ttalk:Oga Reno Omokri junior, as long as you use weapons, force or any illegitimate means to commit crimes, you are a criminal. If you arm yourself to commit any form of crime, you are a criminal. Is that understood? |
Kobojunkie:In trying to interpret English, he further deceived himself with lies. He needs to tell us how a terrorist is not defined as a criminal. A person who uses guns and other weapons or forceful means to dispossess others should not be described as criminals defies understanding. I stopped reading his comments long ago, when I found that he had lost his relevance with his inability to think and comment appropriately. |
Wrong information. That’s the video on how he was presented to Victor Odili and co., as the governorship contestant that year. I am not a WIke fan, but facts must be stated as they remain. Wike was long in politics before that day. He was a local government chairman. He was Amaechi’s chief of staff, etc. |
Dogalmighty17:And with Trump as President of the United States, we should expect some peace. If you were surrounded by such levels of enemies, would you be having golden handshakes with them? Iran says Israel should be wiped out of the surface of the earth. Iran arms all manners of terrorists with the only objective of destroying the state of Israel. If na you, would you fold your hands and watch? Expect chemical weapons to sell at ten for two kobo, with a nuclear armed Iran. Expect herdsmen and boko haram to grab their own copies easily and make your own country unsafe. |
helinues:Ask them that. Na you dey support them. |
FreeStuffsNG:“ The bottled water can come in cheap reusable plastics while sachet water will suddenly become more expensive so the stakeholders now earn more margins as more people move to bottled water”. I cannot understand this thinking please. You move from satchets and PET bottles to reusable plastics? What’s the difference in terms of the sane environmental degradation talked about please? Would the same reusable plastics not find themselves to the same drainages and streets in the end? PET bottles are common practices worldwide, with people of more advanced countries still in the businesses of purchasing clean and safe water. The problem does not have to do with the plastics or satchets, but the mindset of the citizens. When people are not hygiene conscious, you must work to change that first, otherwise the societies remain the same. If there are serious punishments against those who pollute the environments, then you can have some peace, knowing that you did the job. Again, where will people get safe and clean water from, knowing that most areas do not have it? Government must ensure that the citizens are connected with water, pay their charges and get supplied. |
This judgement appears to only affect Abuja residents, as the minister was included in the suit. |
obayendo1010:Great thinking. |
Peacecore:Governors are responsible fathers too! He should shut his stinking and jealous mouth please. |
crentina:Exactly. One of the moles in LP. |
NLSOFTWorld:I do not see it so. Unfortunately Iran acted to fast. Iran only needed a concrete strategic military alliance with Russia to serve as a deterrent. That had not been done. Sending drones, cruise and ballistic missiles to Russia to aid the attack on Ukraine is it the same as the mutual military defence alliance between the USA and Israel. Nuclear armored Turkey recently threatened to attack Israel, but were warned and stopped. When you threaten Israel, you threaten USA, UK, Germany and all parties to the mutual treaty with the state of Israel. Compare that to Iran who only finance Hezbollah, Houthi rebels, Shia militants in Iraq, Hamas, etc. If total war breaks out, Russia can only supply weapons to help out. The Russians are pressed with their war in Europe. Aside from its eight year war against Iraq, the Iranians have not faced such battle as this, even as they claim to be ready. Our hope is that a total war within that region, which will be catastrophic, does not break out. However, note that Israel will respond with a strong hand. If Iran replies, the country will be in shambles and the level of human displacement would be such as not seen following the two world wars. No world war bro, as Russia will not go to war with the USA, neither will North Korea poke its nose. Again, note that other Arab nations are not in sync with Iran. Cheers. |
So sad. So painful. So horrible. From joy to sadness. From success to prison. What a shame. His excitement became his nemesis. |
Vicious, wicked and evil minded lady. Not 10, 20, 50 or even 100. A whole 21k dollars? 32.5 m in this economy. She deserves to be well punished. Na this kind dey poison the whole family. |
INTEGRITYA1:Where lies your hope? Where lies the confidence in the face of the scandalous situation prevailing in the country? GEJ ensured, whether at his inception or not, that boko haram became a thing of the past. Buhari and APC player politics with it. The rest is history as they say! |
Lumig:And you lost focus with the fact that the same APC that you support, with all you time and might, has left you and your fellow supporters begging for daily bread? And with APC as the only existing party, your misery will vanish? |
Poor planning in this country where corruption has become the norm. Why not copy the Lagos model with the Cowry cards. Simply purchase your cowry card and follow the process. Payment goes to go the account instantly. Nonsense people. |
Apcshyte:E no finish? |
KwaraRat:Shame on you for your complete ignorance. To your understanding there is no difference between Shagamu and Ikorodu, as they are within proximity? So because Warri is close to Sapele, in five years, you will not be able to differentiate the two cities that have been in existence for ages? To you baby factories, as you call them, are only found in Asaba and Onitsha? Why not talk about daily assassinations, kidnapping, minute by minute robberies and human rituals found in your area. Anyway you are surely not from the Delta south, otherwise you should bow your face in shame for the daily disgraceful acts going on there. If Shame gree you, mention your area and everyone will read the criminal acts around there. |
ch214:Maybe you think everyone visits contested hotels like you. If you do not know that hotels have their categories, please stay at your level and visit the unsafe ones. By the way, you cannot tell me about hotels please. |
OP, this is an international problem. Hotels have grades and levels. Some aremu h bigger and safer. Some small ones are also safe, but their managements are upbeat. Many hotels are owned by armed robbers, kidnappers and people involved in other forms of crime. Some their management’s are very poor. However is very advisable to check reports on hotels before lodging. It is advisable to look out for the biggest and best hotels, as they provide safety along with their hospitality side to all. Asaba has some very great hotels, just like Port harcourt where you can be at peace and your security is assured. The same you find nationwide. Generalizing your experience in a bad hotel is inappropriate. |
ceejay80s:Lagos has been experiencing the same for ages, with even Policemen forcefully owning doors and wrongly accusing people. |
How can that work please? Without the man’s consent to use his properly as collateral, I think the transaction was illegitimate and will be returned to him through the courts. The man needs a good lawyer to get his house back. The said wife should be should thrown out of the marriage also. |
So sad. |
Moroccoguy:How is it her fault that she was born by the successful man? At least she can tell the whole world who her father is happily. Mr. VDM should tell us who his father is please. |
