How would they have such a huge family in these trying times in Nigeria. Hopefully the man has not become the victim of some evil people, especially ritualists.
I used to know one man in those days. He kept having sons and insisted that he wanted a daughter. After seven sons, he decided to have the final trial. The last one was another and he put an end to child bearing.
You must only beat the amount of children that you can cater for and sex must not matter. Now this woman is in a dilemma. |

So easy under PDP government. For all the years that PDP was in power, passports were issued same day that one applied.
Buhari took over and it became a problem. I applied for a new passport in May 2022 and got it in October of the same year.
Borrowing a leaf from Mr. Fashola, I can say that it is not “rocket science”. Corruption was allowed to thrive in the issuance of passports massively. They also would give the stories of “no passport”.
Rotten eggs in the service must be sacked and new ones to be properly monitored employed. Government must endeavor to provide large quantities of passports, ensuring that scarcity becomes obsolete. Again, monitoring must be taken seriously, so that procuring passports can be very easy for all. |

multiplatforms: *Coalition Dismisses Former Rivers Lawmakers’ Attempt to Shut Down State Govt Expenditure*
The National Vanguard for Rule of Law (NVRL) has laughed off the attempt by former Rivers State Assembly lawmakers to shut down the state government expenditure.
In a statement signed by Comrade Johnson Babatunde, the group described the move as “illegal, null and void”.
Recall that the Martin Amaewhule-led House of Assembly purportedly shut down all expenditures of the government until Governor Siminalayi Fubara presents his budget before the House.
The former lawmakers voted to block the Rivers State Consolidated Revenue Account thus preventing Governor Fubara’s administration from spending any money on behalf of the state.
However, in response, Babatunde reminded Amaewhule and 24 others that their seats were declared vacant on December 13, 2023, after they dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“We read a report in the media, credited to former members of the Rivers State House of Assembly, led by the former Speaker, Martin Amaewhule, wherein the former lawmakers passed a resolution shutting down all expenditures of the state government, pending when His Excellency Governor Siminalayi Fubara re-presents the 2024 budget estimates of the State before them,” the statement said.
“We view the action of the former lawmakers loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike as illegal, null and void.
“For the records, Governor Fubara had in December, 2023, signed the budget of N800 billion into law after presenting it before lawmakers led by the former speaker, Rt. Hon. Edison Ehie, who passed it into law.
“We use this opportunity to remind Amaewhule and 24 others that there seats were declared vacant on December 13, 2023, after they dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC). “They remain former members of the Rivers State House of Assembly and not current members. How then do they expect Governor Fubara to present the 2024 budget of Rivers State before them?
“We use this opportunity to remind the courts that Amaewhule and his group are no longer members of the Rivers State House of Assembly, therefore, any attempt to secure an injunction to deny Governor Fubara access to the consolidated revenue fund of the state, or deny ministries, departments and agencies in Rivers State access to their accounts to implement the 2024 budget be denied or thrown out of the by courts.
“The banks too must be aware of the current status of the former lawmakers and not deal with them as current members of the Rivers State House of Assembly.
“We have observed that the enemies of Rivers State have decided to target the Rivers State Government budget and accounts in their bid to scuttle the giant strides recorded by Governor Fubara in the course of implementing the 2024 budget, which has earned the governor accolades across the state and beyond.
“Recall that, immediately after signing the 2024 budget into law, Governor Fubara flagged - off the Trans-Kalabari road project phase 2 as well as the Elele-Omoku Road project that cuts through Ikwerre, Emohua and Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Areas of the state and many other laudable projects.
“These achievements have unsettled the pro-Wike camp and they have decided to attacks the finances of the state to slow down the provision of dividends of democracy to Rivers people by Governor Fubara.
“We call on the good people of Rivers State and Nigerians to ensure the former Rivers lawmakers Don't succeed in their evil against Rivers State. “ I wonder how they continue in the face of the reality of their loss of seats. |

How?
The only reason why things never work can be found in the I-don’t-care attitude of the citizens. Nigerians are easily able to digest all the recklessness of the political class and yet praise them to the highest heavens.
If we must practice democracy, we must follow up in all the sense of it. We watch other democratic nations talking about their local councils. We see how local councils benefit the citizens. One wonders how governors, past and present, sermonize us on how allowing local governments run appropriately would not work.
We already know that Nigerian politics is godfather based. We know that even a Presidential candidate needs some powers that be to help him get there, how much less a governor and other political office holders. Who holds most of them by the scruff of their necks when they assume office? Even the President is checkmated by the National Assembly. So what’s Fayose talking about state assemblies? He can fool some including himself, but he cannot fool everyone. He must grow beyond his jaguda politics. A man who shortchanged his own party in the last Presidential election should not be telling us such crap. He should bow his face in shame.
We all now know that it is the law to forward local government funds directly into their accounts. We await to see that local government chairman who would forward his local government’s funds into the state government account, as a show of loyalty.
Having attained success at the Supreme Court, next would be the states to mind their areas of jurisdiction and allow local government carry out their statutory functions as spelt out by the constitution.
We would like to see INEC conducting local government elections and not state electoral commissions. We saw the examples last weekend with Adamawa and Delta states, where the ruling parties won the entire seats. That’s the loophole for governors to hold local governments by the jugular. With INEC, all parties would participate and equitable representation would be guaranteed all citizens.
We would expect EFCC and ICPC to be very active in the local governments, formulating policies that would protect the resources for development in their accounts. |

maasoap: That's loyalty at its peak. Compare his person to the one in Rivers state and you will learn a big lesson from the two contrasting individuals. They are even crying now that Rivers PDP has abandoned him . What do you expect? When he took his oath of office, did he pledge loyalty to Yaya Bello or the Federal republic of Nigeria and the citizens of the state where he governs? When our leaders perpetrate evil and crimes, we must not eulogize them. We elect them and we must demand their loyalty to us and not the other way round. A case must be established against Ododo, so that when he is out of office, he can defend himself on obstructing the course of Justice, using his immunity irresponsibly. Is it not reprehensible that a sitting governor would use his immunity to cover a wanted man? This is not a case of witch hunting by EFCC. If Bello feels that the allegations are not right, he has the responsibility of seeking Justice, not by running away, but by defending himself. Anything short of that, he leaves the citizens with no doubt about his culpability. |

APC is all out to take Edo state. The same played out four years ago when members of Obaseki’s cabinet decamped in large numbers, including party leaders across the state. Obaseki/PDP prevailed. The same is expected this time for PDP to win, irrespective of the actions of APC. I do not believe that Obaseki will lose to APC or LP, no matter what happens. Once it observed yhu walking alone as a lady, it would jump on yhu and grab breasts. Until one day, the male corpers there ganged up and killed the monkey. Probably a new style of ruling 🤔 A very relevant question. As a King in his town, will he continue as Tinubu’s ADC? As Tinubu’s ADC, will he not bow or salute to greet Tinubu in his capacity as the President? This should cause a revisit to last year’s matter where OBJ asked Kings to stand up and salute the governor. Congratulations to the new King.
