confusedlady:So you are simply copying and pasting? I am reading and thinking. But you have become an Ikwerre historian too with the picture that you paint. When you say someone is your vassal, you infer that you are feudal and the person owes allegiance to you. Is that correct? Assuming but not conceding that Igbos owe allegiance to Ikwerres, how is it that the Igbo nation and boundaries are far bigger and completely able to become a country of their own? The truth remains that there are various versions of the theory of evolution of Ikwerre people. In all, it is impossible to eliminate the Igboness in the Ikwerre people, no matter how you try hard to wish it away. Sadly one does not understand the reason for the disagreement. One hopes that someday we can get the exact historical information and rest the case. For now, while the agitation for more SE states take the center, Ikwerre is projected to be one of those areas to be included. |
confusedlady:“Vassals”? And yet Ikwerre cannot show proof of distinct identity from the Igbos? How can you have similarity of language, yet not the same people? Oh, so you are saying that Ikwerre people speak Igbo as their language, as they cannot find their own distinct language in history? Or they are not longer able to differentiate between themselves and Igbo people? Can I then put it to you that there is no distinct Ikwerre language, as you cannot give us the Ikwerre versions of those words and names? “Migrated to the present location”? And yet Ikwerres say they are not Igbos? Confused lady wetin na? You don confuse be that o. |
confusedlady:How can you have similarity of language and yet not the same people? It’s like the Ondo man saying that because he is not from Ekiti, they are not Yorubas. If you cannot find any definite Ikwerre version of those words, then you admit that they are Igbos. Can we not safely say that Ikwerre land is Igbo land, irrespective of the disagreements of the Ikwerres? You cannot have my children and yet turn around to say you are not connected to me. How e go take work? |
Don’t mind that yeye Reno Omokri. Much as Lagos is the center piece of Nigeria’s development, the truth about the wickedness of our leaders must be told. With so much resources wasted and looted into private pockets, Lagos should be much more developed than it presently is. Where else in the world do you find molues plying roads, with such recklessness or danfos exhibiting such high level of madness? Ambode tried to put an end to the danfo madness, he was removed. Lagos is a signpost to to how poorly developed other cities in Nigeria are. With faeces everywhere, horrible roads and very poor (but highly unaffordable electricity), poor water, poor hygiene, insecurity, etc, when will the Nigerian leaders allow Nigerians live good lives. It is the same story from South to north of the country. All madness. I visited a friend at Okokomaiko some years ago. As we were going to my car, we saw one mama put and decided to eat hot fufu and egusi soup. As soon as we settled down to our food, I looked to the right side beside one open mosque and saw one man openly shitting and the said shit commoting from the yansh. I nearly vomit the food. Okokomaiko people, which kind life una dey live sef? |
confusedlady:Ah ha! So if that is your new position, are you conceding that Ikwerres are Igbo people, whether Ikwerre arose from the Igbo nation or the other way round? By the way the present deputy President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo is Mr Ihunwo Obi Wali, an Ikwerre man. Without his personal conviction, what’s he doing there? Thank you for the peaceful discussion and decorum anyway. |
confusedlady:My dear, you still beat about the question. We all know that assimilation was a method used to bypass native culture, traditions and languages. As much as they tried, assimilation was not as successful as intended. The same holds with other groups seen and accused as colonialists. In all the cities and states colonized by the French, which of them completely lost their native culture, tradition and language? Have you been around West Africa or North Africa, to former French colonies? I have been to several and they speak their native languages, with largely corrupted French as their central language. Your language is part of the identity. That the French tried to make French black men, still did not erode the fact of who they were/are and certainly not made them French people. We are Nigerians and not British. If you speak Ikwerre, for example, and you only permit English language in your home for your family, who is to blame? You are substantiating the claim of Mr. Eric. We know that English has not swallowed up any known Nigerian language, neither has Igbo as a language wiped out Ikwerre as a language, if there was any such language. Again, how many years did we have an Eastern region administration? Certainly it was not for eternity or long enough to wipe out Ikwerre language. If you cannot find the Ikwerre equivalent of those Igbo names and words, and there is no man old enough to give us the Ikwerre interpretation of those words, then I am sorry, we may not be far from the reasoning that Ikwerre cannot claim to have its roots in Benin, in its theory of evolution. What do you think? |
confusedlady:That still does not answer the question. Mr. Eric failed to state it, as I carefully read through his historical claim. We all are Nigerians, colonized by the British and left with English as our common language. We have our respective languages, which were not wiped out by the British. The Igbos, Yorubas, Hausas, Tivs, Efiks, etc retained and still maintain their indigenous languages. Certainly you cannot say that Igbo language completely wiped off the indigenous Ikwerre language, otherwise you would be agreeing that Ikwerre belongs to the Igbos. If that dispute must be retained, then the question remains why such Igbo words and names were not translated into Ikwerre language, as a way to show that Ikwerre has no ethnic affiliation with the Igbos? Can you please prove that? Or better still, tell us the Ikwerre version of those names. Thank you very much, as I look forward to your response to this historical/linguistic request. |
See his head like cricket head. Just imagine the olodo, stabbing his brother in-law to be over a mobile phone. Definitely no shishi. No job, just touting. |
flokii:Make shame catch you small. Where is the logic? Where is the common sense? Where is the deep thinking? Truly some of you who support APC are heavily hoodwinked or completely bewitched. It appears that your capacity for hardship, hard life and hard kan our is immeasurable. Where is the truth in Reno Omokri’s claim? By the way did Tinubu not say “na statistics we go chop?” How have you all turned out to look at statistical records? Have you ever been out of Nigeria? Ask those who have travelled if Lagos falls within the first 20 such cities mentioned in Africa. We are not talking about fact checking now, but physical experiences in all the countries visited within Africa, not to talk of the world. How the world revolves around Nigeria for you APC supporters is unbelievable. So to you, having the train running from Orile to CMS should make Lagos among the 20 best in the world? What has happened to environments, security, electricity, health care, etc? Factoring those, can you compare with major cities in the UK alone, not yo talk of USA, Canada, Russia, China, Japan, Rabat (Morocco), Algiers, Madagascar, etc? You should compare yourselves with dirty cities in India, Philippines, etc. Stop raising your heads like the proud agama lizard, as the leadership of the country, irrespective of political affiliation is horrible. |
Fantastic. Three important things in life: 1. Peace 2. Happiness 3. Freedom Pursue them and enjoy your life. Congratulations once again to the great looking Kate Henshaw. |
Amotolongbo:Do you know the difference between literacy and illiteracy? Do you know the difference education and lack of education? If you know, then you should understand that the history of people, nations and societies is not only for the benefit of the said people and societies |
confusedlady:“ For instance, there was the change from Umuola to Rumuola, Umuoro to Rumuoro , Umukrushi to Rumuokwurusi…” May I ask if Umuoro and Umukrushi, which are Igbo names, do not have their own direct interpretation in Ikwerre language? What do you call such names in Ikwerre language? Turning Umuoro to Rumuoro, etc gives an appearance playing the ostrich. It appears like an effort at bastardizing the Igbo words in an attempt to erase the relationship. Can you offer an explanation please? |
Amotolongbo:Does that invalidate the crown on his head? The question is if it is proper, based on customs and traditions, for a King, irrespective of his tribe, to bow down to “mere mortals”. It is right for him to carry the files and arrange the seats of the man he follows? |
Set Nnamdi Kanu free and let’s have peace in the SE. I think government should explore that option, as it looks like the only way forward for peace. |
Fineman2:Very sorry, that should be great, but she may not. The democrats have great candidates, but I think that a certain Mrs. Hilary Clinton will knock Trump off completely this time. |
Buhari said the same. Tinubu promised to continue. He introduced his own policies in his Inauguration Day. Thereafter he asked citizens to be patient. Prices of goods and services skyrocketed under his policies. Food almost vanished from the tables of citizens. That was one year and two months ago. Now Oshiomole says another year or more. What have they done about food and security? Those are the basics. What’s the sense building roads when all the existing ones are traps for evil men to prey on decent people in the country? Why build roads when it is very visible that the immediate challenge is food on the table? Why not deal with the most pressing issues first? While the people are asked to wait, the citizens are made to watch them enjoy their lives, with one purchasing a vehicle with 64 m for his secondary school leaving daughter? When will these horrible leaders let the citizens have some respite? |
When we all know that Aguata as a whole belongs to Soludo? See how the mumu man eulogized Ubah for donating a transformer to his own village and he labeled it Ekwulobia and Aguata in general. Ekwulobia people, with the recent massive construction in their town by Soludo, will no vote for APC. They never did and will not do it. |
Now can we have Mrs. Hilary Clinton again please. Without doubt, she will floor Donald Trump. |
Promise47:So you expect cultists to show you their faces and tell you who they are? Ask people who know about Agbor and revert. |
TUTU147:The Obiship has been an age long battle, initially with the Okonjos and Izediunors. The throne appeared to lose some of its attraction with the late Prof and now the sitting Obi. Is Chief Michael Nwaukoni overbearing, especially considering that he is a man of immense wealth? What about other Chiefs who are battling with the Obi? The Obi too has his internal battle with his Uncle who has refused to recognize him. Let’s hope that the state government can do something. Okowa had mechanisms to settle such matters while he was the governor. I hope Sheriff can bring peace to reign in the land. All the people of Ogwashi want is peace, happiness and opportunity to enjoy themselves and their town. |
Promise47:Certainly you do not know much about Agbor. Go and ask before you continue. |
ekanx27:Can you in all honesty mention the name of your town? |
Promise47:If you call Ogwashi “cultist area”, what then should we call Agbor? Maybe we should call Agbor the “chief cultist area”. Or are you new to Agbor? |
Graficient:Infact this PWAN is one issue, just like other companies. Their own too much! They appear on all sides with different names on the lands. Ogwashi uku lands up till they arrived were far less than one million. Now lands between Ogwashi, Edo Ogwashi, Igbuzor, etc have gone beyond reach of many. Worse is that they are undeveloped largely. I hope they do not practice the same on the Ogwashi uku // Warri road. |
Fantastic. Now no one knows the differences in the towns and communities, especially with the proliferation of companies who purchase lands at cheap costs and sell at very exhorbitant prices. Imagine lands right inside the bush between Igbuzor and Ogwashi uku selling for 5 million in some areas, whereas right inside town you can get land for the same 5 million. None can tell you the boundary between Igbuzor and Ogwashi uku, between Azagba and Ogwashi, between Asaba and Ogwashi uku, between Ubulu uno/Ubulu uku and Ogwashi uku. Government intervention came at the right time, especially with the destructions faced by citizens of those areas. Delta government must tackle herdsmen and get citizens to get into their farms for the greater development of Delta state. |
blogbuilder:You got it bro! |
greggng:For those of you who think road construction equates with “perform well”, are you sure you are not mistaken? Can you compare the achievements of Oshiomole in eight years with the achievements of Obaseki for clarification? No right thinking Edo person would delay to tell you that Obaseki, aside from fixing roads, moved Edo state forward. Take a look at APC controlled states and tell us what’s the good happening there. APC is the greatest mistake that Nigerians allowed to happen in Nigeria. Continuing to vote for APC is a sign of hard bewitchment. Obaseki will defeat them while using the PDP platform once again. |
senatordave1:How can it work here with our governments? |
senatordave1:I thought you were been reasonable and I responded to you. I never respond to rude people. If you cannot talk with decorum, please engage youths like you next time. |
senatordave1:Has he returned to his office? Has he returned to his official quarters? How will he get allocations? Have the concluded all avenues with the courts? Oya answer. |
senatordave1:And how many of such orders have worked with our governments? |
JAWBONE:And he will fail. He’s bitter that he could not return the seat to Exo north. If not for Obaseki, Edo north would have another candidate to the disadvantage of Edo central. Obaseki clipped his wings! |
