currencyz:And being a son automatically makes you the beneficiary of your father’s will? and school pass through you sef? |
Such people like this man must be commended for standing on the side of the truth. |
Bitterkola100:In other words, you are a commoner in Benin, even as you claim to be a “son of the soil” on the one hand? If the Oba is man god and lords over you, is it safe to say that you are sort of slaves to him and no longer his children on the other hand? Otherwise I cannot understand your contradiction, since I did not attend primary school. Maybe you write your comments out of unnecessary deep emotions, without reading before posting. Read your initial comment again. If you say the Oba is your father, is it inappropriate for the Oba to term a commoner like you his son, knowing that you are “a son of the soil”, or a full born Benin son, just like him? I have heard other first class Kings say their people are all his children, even with such political occasions at hand. I asked the question, just like Akpata’s representative asked: why was such a correction, if necessary, not made in private? If Akpata thought it wise to eulogize the reverred King, why should he be humiliated publicly in that manner? |
Bitterkola100:“ We all call the oba our father because he is not just an ordinary king but a man god”. You can call the Oba your father, but the Oba cannot call you his children? Please can you explain this statement of your? |
AreaFada2:“Oba is royal father to all”. If someone says I am the royal father, does that not confer the citizens the right to claim that the same Oba is their father? If the Oba of Benin is not “all Obas”, what then is the difference between him and other Kings, reigning over their own people? With due respect to the Oba, Mr. Akpata did not by any means infer by his words that the Oba was his biological father. Neither did he in anyway disrespect the King. Such matters should not have gone to the press. The spokesperson from the palace should have called Akpata personally to notify him of an error, if any. He accorded the Oba the dignity and honor due to him. The palace was too quick to denounce him, making it look like something was transpiring politically. Kings are supposed to be impartial in political matters, but as we know in our country, they always have their preferred candidates. Can we say that Akpata does not know the culture? Certainly someone would guide him or the entourage while visiting the Oba appropriately, telling him the words to say and how to conduct himself before the Oba. Once I was in the palace of the Oba of Lagos. I had an injury and I was walking with a stick. The palace guards accosted me and asked me if I was a traditional Chief from my area. When I said No, the man insisted that I must not use the walking stick inside the palace, as one without a title. I respected the culture. I think the Oba’s people over reached themselves. In all, we must not let politics cause so much division among us, no matter where we come from. |
TechBaron:When Akpata said that he was a son of the palace, did he by any way infer that he was a biological son of the king? All kings refer to their people as sons and daughters. With due respect, the present Oba appears to be mired in a lot of controversies. He words are no longer appearing to be the law, as used to be with his ancestors. |
“A new Sheriff is in town”, according to Fubara. Wike’s structures are beginning to crumble and scatter, just as Wike completely destroyed Amaechi’s structures and Amaechi also did to Victor Odili.. Rivers state politics, I think, does not support a so called godfather beyond his tenure. |
helinues:Na you and hunger we see. E dey wound you, you dey pretend. Shioor! |
helinues:If the song is for “I never chop people”, then know that it is for you! Bros you no dey chop. You dey laugh for public, yet you dey cry better cry of hunger inside your small one window room. |
jumpandpas:No be only sarcastic, na Rashidistic! |
PressMyButton:Be reasonable and read widely. The Russian President has planes dating back to 2005 among his fleet and as latest as 2016. He’s planes are updated and well protected on air when he’s flying. The same goes for the American President. Those are the two most powerful Presidents in the planet. What will happen if your President’s planes are updated and properly fitted? Or you think that a your APC government is looking for a Gulf Stream on $4m? BAT promised to cut down on costs and get look at his government with so much wastage. Are you not ashamed of the situation that your APC has put the country into? Should the first things not be dealing with insecurity and ensuring food sufficiency for the citizens? If all the resources wasted to give your APC leaders luxurious lives are spent fixing those two, would people lament of hunger? |
Reno Omokri will keep fooling himself and those he constantly deceives. Anyway it is wothout doubt that Obi’s name puts food on his table. According to Wike, the contract for the BP’s residence was awarded in 2010 at the cost of 7m and remained uncompleted until he took over. The project was reviewed upwards and included in the supplementary budget Wike presented to NASS in 2023. Who releases the funds after budgets? Again, while BAT asks citizens to sacrifice, his hovernment spends billions to live very comfortable lives. Without discussing with BAT in the first place, would such a matter have come up in the National Assembly? And when it came up why did BAT not stop it dead on its track, if he wanted to save the country the money? The truth once again is that Omokri seeks a job with BAT, while abandoning his principal. Rather than stay with his party to play opposition against the APC government, he has turned Obi into the FG and plays the opposition against him. PDP meanwhile now sees Obi as the candidate to beat in the next election and plans to bring him back into the fold along with Obidients. The mumu will return begging when it is time. |

CilicMarin:Foot soldier with hungry for your belle? No be only foot soldier, na foot boy. No shame for yourself. Meanwhile you no fit get mind to go and fight there. |
IyaTola:Na waoh. |
End of the road for his, like others. Now to hear his regret and appeal for forgiveness. Thankfully he was caught before he carried out any evil act. |
With fila for head? |
jumpandpas:Just imagine that. |
IyaTola:Just imagine that. |
Ezewuzie01:Onitsha and Ogbaru, carved out of Anambra state are to be added to Anioma state. The intention is to make Onitsha the state capital, instead of Asaba. That has always been the plan. Infact Anioma would have been a state of its own, if not for IBB’s wrong decision to tie Anioma to Niger Delta and making Asaba the capital as a consolation. Rightfully according to Ned Nwoko, the clamour for Anioma state has been there since the administration of IBB. Most importantly, taking Anioma into the SE would mean taking also the resources in those areas. Anioma has huge deposits of oil and gas. We have seen Agip in Oko areas of Oshimili south, searching for oil. Its an added advantage bringing Anioma into the SE which is the area of the ancestors. |
That should be the at close of work today. There is a holiday anyway, so they can pick up whatever pieces they have and vacate today. |
ElSudani:The same things done by previous administrations and Nigerians had their peace of mind. The same Tinubu led protests against GEJ in 2014, stopping subsidy removal. You all eulogized him and said GEJ did not have the political will. Here we are today, faced with the same clueless days of Buhari. How would BAT ask Nigerians to sacrifice, sharing, when the poor have become poorer and the middle class completely wiped off? In the end, it is no longer a secret that this government still pays subsidy. What’s the reason for all the stress then? For how long are the poor and weak expected to bear with government, while government officials take home millions of Naira monthly and feeding fat? As an exemplary leader, why not take out half of his so called wealth and share with the poor and needy? That also can be termed “sacrifice”. |
MadFergie001:So illiterates like you are in this forum? Please get educated first. Your mates will easily call you an olodo for your very poor English. |
What is the jubilation for? Is there any competition between the two churches? MFM probably lost interest in that church and Zion ministries purchased the now disused property for their own use. MFM has too many other properties within the Okota/Ire Akari/ Isolo and Amuwo areas, so what’s making the members of Zion ministries Jubilate over what is nothing? Meanwhile, the challenges that daily face them are untouched. While hunger and poverty pervade the land, the poor rather than get solutions, chase shadows. |
If there’s no insurance, or if the insurance is either fake or under declared to beat customs duty, the goods have become wasted completely. What a pity. |
diogo23:Why? |
Na so. The question keeps coming up on why technology has not played its needed role to end all these. What’s happening to all the allocations please? |
jaszplus12:One wonders what the essence of marriage is for men like this, who must have been married for more than 30 years. His religion permits him to marry four wives, making him avoid adultery and such irresponsible sexual behavior. He probably has those four wives and yet he always eyed other people’s wives. A very highly immoral man, who probably over estimated himself. It’s truly a big shame. A permanent secretary is only a short distance away from peaceful retirement. Now his retirement may not peaceful anymore. I believe that inside him, he must be regretting his misdeeds. |
We never witnessed such crowd gathering in Daura when Buhari was the President. We did not witness it under GEJ. Na only BAT/APC. What we know is that APC led some Nigerians into the wilderness of extreme poverty, misery and hardship. Their supporters eulogize them and completely agree that hardship is the way. Those ones found on the queue are the same who voted to continue in misery in 2023. Now it has be o e unbearable for them. |
End of the road for him. While his mates are arrested for corruptly enriching themselves, the nonsense man corruptly enriched his penis with women. Men like that are the ones whose stock in trade is sex for employment letters or promotions. Who knows how many women were wrongly promoted after sleeping with him, or those whose promotions were withheld for refusing his sexual advances. What a disgrace to his own immediate family. This same man would tell his children to remember the children of who they are. Now his children will remember their father as a sex predator and a chronic womanizer, who turned his own office into his hunting ground. Thankfully ICPC is involved in the matter and he will finally get his reward. “ Meanwhile, the Joint Negotiating Council, JNC, the labour union in the Ministry, has also accused the permanent Secretary of high-handedness, maladministration, favouritism and financial improprieties, which, according to them, have significantly affected the welfare and rights of the workers”. These are allegations against the man. He not only faces sexual harassment charges, but other very severe allegations, that if proven would land the greedy ugly face man in jail. |
derecho:Is there any rope and ceiling fan around you? Are you close to the road with trailers on the road? Are you close to a transformer? Do you have a bottle of sniper around you? If e pain you too much, use any of the above. |
The arrogance of Osimhen stinks. How would he say that he had lost respect for Finidi George? Why did he not lose respect for his fellow Napoli players at the point where they were avoiding him and treating him like tissue paper? What about the racist calls against him in Napoli? Why not lose respect for them? That’s the same way he lost respect for his senior sister and husband. I do not like his style of play anyway. His football is not real to me. He should enjoy his status and respect people like Finidi, who’s credentials he is not able to match. |
