And you do not know that out of your “millions” of supporters, only a few hundred thousands will be out on election day?
And you are daydreaming that a sitting governor like Obaseki will lose to APC?
And you are not aware that in 2020, Obaseki lost almost his entire cabinet to APC, including political associates and yet defeated them all?
And you do not know that what matters most are the events election day and not the crowds that comprise supporters of various parties, who troop out in the various communities to witness campaigns?

Truly you are unique. If in the face of the economic destruction imposed on the nation by your national leader and father, you choose to replicate it in your state by supporting APC, you surely are unique.

As for APC, I don't need to waste my time with you. Rate the party performance at the national level beginning from Buhari till this current administration of Tinubu. Any sane human supposed dey shame to identify with a failed party political party like APC.

Don’t mind the APC humanoids. While they wallow in their chosen poverty, they watch their leaders roll around in luxury, unquestioned.

If not that they choose suffering, they would not be blinded to Obaseki’s record in the state.

I don't think it is fair to say Atiku would have failed as president. He is not the president, so the assumption is meaningless.

It was due to selfishness on the part of everyone in PDP that Atiku emerged as candidate. In fairness, the ticket wasn't handed to him; he fought for it like a man. So that is fair. Southern governors met in Asaba and agreed that the south must produce the next president. What then happened? Selfish interests took over, the PDP governors could not implement their own accord, and Atiku went into the competition.

Atiku won.

Had Atiku been able to consolidate his victory by uniting the PDP and bringing back the likes of Kwankwaso, Obi, and G5, he'd have won the 2023 elections. The divisions within the PDP into main PDP, Kwankwaso's NNPPC, Obi's LP and Wike's aso-ebi boys split PDP votes. That split handed victory to President Tinubu. Atiku might have worked to prove himself and immortalize himself as a good president, or he could have ruined his opportunity like a former president did. No one knows for sure.

What pained me about Atiku's case even though I do not support him, is the people that surrounded him. They failed to advise him properly. In this game of politics, bigmanism has its limits; you must stoop and negotiate with those who hold the aces to swing things. You'd make concessions to them. For example, what value did Okowa bring to the ticket? Even after the election, I can't remember Okowa attending the presidential elections petitions tribunal sittings frequently. I also can't remember if he granted interviews as much as Datti Baba-Ahmed did. Okowa was honourable, but aloof, as if he felt Atiku was on his own. If it was Wike that was chosen, you can imagine the onslaught. Now, see the risk Tinubu took, did it pay off for the victory?

Anyway, Atiku is a resilient man, he just doesn't have good friends and good advisers.

Atiku’s disloyalty, greed and desperation must forever remain as an example in Nigerian politics. He won the 1999 governorship election in Adamawa state and was handpicked out of a group of five great leaders from the north, to become OBJ’s vice. He was selected because he was the leader of the then Shehu Musa Yaradua’s political engine (PDM) and thought to be able to secure more votes for PDP in the north, thus defeating the then APP. That secured and in a little time he bared his fangs on OBJ himself. OBJ allowed him preside over the then economic team and Atiku further took over the governors. He ensured that he had 21 PDP governors under his control and then challenged OBJ for the Presidency in 2003. Thankfully the likes of the late Tony Anenih were behind OBJ and he won. That greed cost Atiku his opportunity in 2007 and possibly for ever of becoming the President. That was his clearest and best route to the Presidency.

Atiku had no business in 2023 with PDP/Presidency. There was no chance that he could win. The permutations were very clear. His entry cost the party Kwakanso (another greedy man). The party lost Obi and soon it would be Wike. When Atiku failed to galvanize the party after the convention, allowing the likes of Wike and his group to establish communication with Tinubu, the rest became history.

The lesson for me is that if he could not unite PDP in their dark hour; if he could not unite the aggrieved who had left/were leaving; if he could remain so aloof and not caring, how would he unite the country? The same story, just like Buhari and his divisive rulership would have continued. Atiku was not willing to shift grounds, make concessions and move forward. Even in this moment, we have not seen visible moves by Atiku to unite PDP.

Now he must be saying a lot of “if only”. With the national reach of the PDP, Obi or Wike on the ballot would have won the election. Again, the greed of Wike ( who chased out Obi and Umahi), further troubled the party. Atiku’s advisers failed and he failed himself too. Hopefully Atiku should not be on the PDP ballot in 2027, so the party can reposition and have a better Southern candidate.

Justice has not been served yet. He killed the child via rape and his fellow inmates intend to kill him too via rape. He escaped with injuries twice and the third time, he may not escape it.

Perhaps his fellow inmates are fathers with children that age and above. Feeling the pain of the boy’s mum and family, his fellow inmates wanted to inflict him with such pain. Having sex with the mum and raping such a little child. What could have happened if there was a girl in the house? Infact, first must be the removal of his phallus.

If ever he is released from prison, he will never habour the thought of raping anyone. Paedophiles should have no place in decent societies.

Thankfully the matter came to an end, but with the accused wasting four previous years in detention.
Hopefully they are able to quickly reintegrate into society and make better use of their lives and times.
Endsars was a painful experience in the nation, with many youths losing their lives, people and government losing properties. Hopefully the citizens are not pushed to the brink, triggering such reactions anymore.

The same release should go to those who are either unjustly detained, or awaiting trial for many years over for offenses, for which their sentences are just for three or six months.

Much as most of us disagree with APC and the massive poor governance suffered, yet we must note that elections are not won on pages of newspapers or social media spaces. Elections are won when the citizens use their voters card appropriately on Election Day.

Again we know that of all the millions of cards in the hands of the citizens, only a few hundreds of thousands actually cast their votes. For example, the 2020 elections had 2.272m registered voters. Of that amount, PDP scored 307K votes while APC scored 223K votes. Voters were not up to one million inspite of all the hype. Voters will play a good role turning out on the day to cast their votes and protect the ballot boxes.

Again, irrespective of the decamping of certain politicians in the state, we do not expect the governor to be deaf or blind to their moves. We hope that he puts his house in order before Election Day.

They have never denied their identity. Anioma state which should comprise all the Igbo speaking communities in Delta state make up the state, proposed to form the sixth Igbo speaking state in the SE region.

You may wish to know that some of the Igbo speaking communities in Delta state find the origin in Nri, Anambra state and Igala and not Benin, as claimed by some people. The Asaba people find their history of origin between the don of Igala people and a daughter of Anambra state, thus the name Nnebisi and a huge presence of Igala people in Asaba. The same goes for the Oko people along the bank of the river Niger. Ogwashi and Igbuzo find their roots in Nri and the Ukwuanis, clearly Igbo, as against the recent escapist claim of Benin.

Are they participating in Biafra? I think you must ask if all in the region called SE are interested. Again, if Biafra is to be achieved, are all the communities and people in favour of a violent struggle. These questions will take a long time to ponder and work out.
