KosiGee:“ What kind of palace is Chief Ibeto going to build in 3 months? Is the palace going to be built with Lego blocks or prefab units?” Your words. If those words are not negative, how else would a right thinking youth define them? Someone set up to build a property in 3 months and there you disputed the fact. Or you did not reason that the builder had planned it effectively, along with the King and the palace, who would be would have to manage for the duration? Or you looked at it a a government project that should go on endlessly? Who talks like “people with no grey matter”, between us and you after reading your initial comment again? |
KosiGee:Well no be you plan am. No be your money. No be your palace. No be you go do Ofala festival there. Nothing concern you there. With such negative mindset, how you want to take know how far? |
ZeemsPropeties:You are absolutely wrong. Please be correctly informed before commenting. |
chiiraq802:Buhari was a northern president. He served for eight years. He had the biggest security officers who were northerners. How did he not end the issue permanently? During his tenure, herdsmen became more daring, moving nationwide. They started blocking roads and kidnapping citizens. If the north is pushed to the wall, they can simply act by first getting out the saboteurs among themselves. Next they must get ready to confront the evil people with all that they can muster. What do they expect now? Maybe they can just get their own country and enjoy themselves there. |
TimeManager:You kiss the truth first. “Subsidy is gone” met Dangote all set to kick off. “Subsidy is gone” did not finance Dangote refinery. “Subsidy is gone” brought Nigerians this hardship. With “subsidy is gone”, why have the public refineries not worked yet? “Subsidy is gone” and yet no clear arrangement in place to get the public refineries to 100%. Get small shame please. |
dawnomike:That joy in the attacking woman’s face while stripping the other woman publicly is so sad. And to think that the culprit is not a little girl. She appeared like one who had been looking out for ways to deal with that lady for quite a while. What if the culprit turns around to call her an accomplice? That picture can serve as an evidence. |
illicit:Nothing more, nothing less. He opened the thread to get cheeky, holding himself as the custodian of knowledge. He says we can google all, showing that what he posted was complete copy and paste from google, with no verification of what he was posting. Giving readers no chance to share opinion with him, we should leave him alone, as he does not know what he is talking about. He should be allowed to continue as a man alone. |
Fryx:When you say bird’s eye view, it means that you see it clearly. “Present day refers to the period just before the British came”. You are leaving your readers to guess. That’s bad history writing. Historians do not talk of “luxury of time”. They give accurate or close to accurate information about given subject matters in history. Infact, part of history is dates. If you have not found the dates referred to and you so far have not fact checked, why then the hurry to give us the story? Give us correct details on dates to back up your assertions and disprove the claim of other historians please. Finally, your narration seems quite jumpy or uncoordinated. Thank you for your effort anyway. |
Fryx:When you mean “present day”, can you tell us the periods referred to or dates? When you say “present day”, you leave people confused. You entire post lacks dates and makes it not appear specific, or perhaps a guess. |
The man appeared to speak on behalf of himself and APC. When forms are out, maybe he intends to get to INEC office to block candidates from picking theirs. |
aribisala0:Exactly. Can we say it is true? Maybe Brown Ideye forgot that he was lucky with his own life. Many players, far better than him, did not make it to the top. Many joined local clubs and could not be favored to get foreign clubs. Local clubs pay very poor salaries and have always paid very poor salaries. By the way, is the football federation in touch with the reality of poor salaries paid by Nigerian clubs. How can the players save for the future with such poor salaries? When Brown Ideye talked about football players, he should have differentiated between players in the foreign leagues and players in the local leagues. Again in the days of Rufai or before him, players in foreign countries did not earn as well as current players earn. Osimhen for example earns close to 300k or more weekly. Rufai invested in properties. His sickness took the toll on his finances and he was not in anyway a broke man. Infact even in Idimu where he comes from, he must also enjoy certain benefits as a member of the royal family. He could have been the Oba of Idimu if not for football, whic was his passion. Unfortunately a new Oba was crowned in Idimu on the same day that Rufai was buried. The Oba was reigned in his stead was buried. Very sad. |
mohims:It is very laughable that in your so called “more travelled than you” and all your knowledge, you failed to realize that Lagos and Anambra state have no basis for comparison in terms of growth and development. First Lagos was a city in history with over five centuries, since it was founded. Lagos developed and became the capital of the Southern protectorate of Nigeria after 1914. Development continued until it became the capital of the entire country. Now can you compare that with Anambra state in August 1991. Before 1991, Lagos had grown with in leaps and no other part of the country matched in terms of infrastructure. Now tell us how you expected major from Obi, any governor before and after him, comparable with Lagos which became a capital one hundred and eleven years ago. Some of you should learn to reason properly. While you ask for legacy projects in Anambra state, can you please show us legacy projects in Ekiti, Osun, Kebbi, Jigawa, Adamawa and other states the were created after independence up till 1991 and 1996. In all that, you cannot compare any of the states mentioned with Anambra state, if you truly want to be honest with yourself. It is unfortunate that many like you choose tribalism over accountability and growth. Social media is a place to boast about what you are not, otherwise, if you have been to civilized societies, you will wish better societies for Nigerians and better leaders. |
This is very sad. To see such citizens drag themselves publicly in this manner. I also wonder why the Alaafin appears to want this supremacy struggle. In all, we have been told that the Supreme court claim of the Alaafin is none existent. Hopefully this can be overlooked and they can move forward. |
So they were truly not working before? And these people were peddling lies when confronted with the truth of the state of the facilities. Once again, why waste funds fixing refineries that may never work well? Why not either sell the refineries or simply pack them up? |
Wickedlywicked:Sadly, you have forgotten to mention your state. However, I am very certain that your only claim to Lagos is “Yoruba”. Unfortunately for you, others are Lagosians, irrespective of their tribes, religion and culture. The only option for you is self immolation. What you have failed to find out is that prosperity has no limits, and knows not boundaries. Only lazy youths like you - going by Mrs. BAT and PMB - wait for crumbs, claiming ownership of lands that you never inherited in the first place. That’s why the cement seller in Ogbomosho, Keffi, Auchi, etc can get wealthy. What has brought Nigerians together in Lagos and other areas of the country is the fact that the constitution allows everyone to move and associate freely as Nigerians. So irrespective of where you originate, you can reside, purchase properties and do your business as you wish in every corner of the country, unhindered. The constitution guarantees you that and it can be enforced constitutionally if anyone infringes on your rights. That said, your likes need to know that no one disrespected you all. You disrespected yourselves, sold lands to fellow Nigerians in the areas previously populated by your people, and now greedily want to have lands back, after using the funds to drink paraga, lavish on parties, or collecting chieftaincy titles. So in areas you term your own lands, you made yourselves second class citizens. You claim that fellow Nigerians should move away from your lands, whereas you want to secure European, Canadian and American citizenships in those countries. Na poor man thinking dey worry you. Again, you do not know that while you lazy around, sitting on your tiny arse and drinking shepe daily, decent citizens go around the country in search of better lives. That’s why you can find the same Fulanis in the entire forests of the nation and also taking up residences in houses in the whole of the SE, completely unmolested by anyone in those areas. What’s your business if the areas citizens live with is called dirty? Is it not the duty of all Nigerians there to ensure cleanliness? If people say certain areas are dirty, why do you swoon? Why not ask them to join hands with government to clean up the areas and make them all very habitable? What you think will snowball into “what you might later live to regret” happened 58 years ago and you did not experience it personally. Perhaps it is time for you to personally to experience the pain. |
Great. Fantastic. Making his community better. That’s what it should be. Hopefully we will not hear that the job was awarded by government and one person behind the desk collects money for the job. |
simpleseyi:How can you know when you have never ventured out of your one room one window dungeon? How can you know when you leave your own community and claim Lagos as your own? How can you know when you are one one the millions of citizens who are bewitched by politicians? While you practice racism and tribalism in your country, your likes busy themselves complaining that Donald Trump deports Nigerians. When that happens, you remember to call everyone “Nigerian” and not by their tribe. |
Sadly the leaders who are the cause of this hatred are completely silent. Behind the fuel it more. Watch as election time approaches and you will feel the force of citizens against themselves, all for pittances. After elections, politicians mingle together, attend parties, intermarry and the blind/bewitched citizens continue their miserable lives. |
Mozikwe:Speed breakers are built by contractors, on the instructions of government. You have no right to build speed breakers on the road, as you are not government or the one who gave the project to build the road in the first place. You will be prosecuted, as it is called “destruction of public property”. Roads are built with public funds and even those built by the likes of Dangote still belong to the public. |
Ikumapkayi:That can earn him jail time. We all understand the pain and the situation. He absolutely had no right to do that on a public road, built with public funds. His lawyer recently warned him to mind his limits. This is not activism, but clearly a case of lacking knowledge. That was absolutely perfect ignorance on his part. |
You cannot compare the latest models of cars with their oldest versions. The latest versions are usually better in all ramifications. They are carefully planned and manufactured. The same way some think that the 2003 version is better than the 2020 version, is the same some people thought in those days that the 1999 or earlier versions were better than the 2003 version. When Nigeria went from Peugeot 404 to 504, many lamented. The same happened when we went to the 505 model, which was better designed. The same happens about planes and houses. Why not say that houses built in 2003 are better than houses built in 2020? What about clothes? The same for drugs and medical science. Life daily gets better everyone. |
mystry:But Femi Otedola just admitted that he did not attend university. The two of them are huge labour employers in the country. Sir Richard Branson did not have good grades, yet he owns Virgin air. I think requirements for leadership should be intergrity, honesty and accountability. If we find people with such qualifications and who are graduates, why not vote for them? Graduates don’t make the best leaders. Some leaders have fake university certificates and they have positions. The man was honest with his own. By the way, he is not to be considered an illiterate. Millions in Nigeria who speak English cannot write good English. It should not determine the destiny of anyone. I wish him well, but unfortunately he cannot win in his Anambra state. Soludo will return, except LP put their house in order. Even at that George Muoghalu will take Anambra state to APC if he wins under LP. Again APC may not have to trouble themselves. Soludo may decamp in the course of time if he wins, so that he can connect himself to the federal level. |
If he gave the order, what’s delaying the implementation? That’s the problem. Gap in communication. Hospitals may be waiting for further directives, as they call them. Aside from giving the order, what happens to the dialysis supplies? The FG must make provision for the gap in costs for dialysis supplies. It that is not done, then the order is a waste. Hopefully all issues were put to consideration before drawing their conclusion. Again, it is sincerely hoped that hospitals will not request patients to purchase their own supplies, as a way to meet up. |
Where APC see mouth for Anambra state? This is unbelievable. As for Anambra state, APC can only get in through the back door, as the late Ifeanyi Ubah did when he decamped from YPP. Maybe other political office holders may decamp to APC in the future, which is not foreseeable for now. The APC candidate tried to ride on the back of the late Ifeanyi Ubah. He overrated himself and failed woefully. Again in the fact that the Senatorial zone contested for is the Governor’s senatorial zone. The Governor has been working hard in his Senatorial zone and bringing development to the area. If the Governor is not defeated by LP or ADC, na APC get hope there? We must not also forget the fact that most voters were party people or those who created the time to go out and vote in favour of their family members or friends. |
Greatex90:A very childish talk, just like many reckless youths in this Nairaland forum. Maybe you do not know what it is to have kidney disease. Pray that you do not have it or someone close to you. While you wait for “transportation and feeding money”, your mates are making the best out of the situation and creating massive money making opportunities for themselves. |
Thundafireseun:Let’s have the multiplier effect in the private hospitals. Dialysis is free in most hospitals in Europe, USA and Canada. That’s a good move in the health sector. Such things like this make people have peace of mind. Hopefully those who run the hospitals will not sabotage it. |
Lanruze:APC what elections in APC areas and they are jumping all over. That’s the same that happened some time ago in Osun state when they won the seats and mocked LP. When major elections came they were shocked. In the meantime let’s ask them how they gave impacted Nigerians in terms of food and security, including their supporters. |
mohims:This is what you think when you have not ventured out of your small enclave. Maybe you need to get to Ore once, then get to Benin, Onitsha and then Abakaliki to tell yourself the truth and come out of your APC induced delusion. When you get to Ebonyi, you can then tell yourself that Anambra state is far bigger and far more developed. Aside from bridges, please point to what he contributed in terms of human capital development, when compared to Peter Obi. Let’s get the two of them to contest an election in the SE and your Chinese tiny eyes go clear quickly. In the entire of the SE, Umahi is among the smallest to talk of the Presidency. By the way, where is the road map for him to get there? |
If the funds were not seized at the polling units or being given handed over to voters directly, how can they establish that it was for bribing? All the parties set aside funds for agents welfare during the elections. |
Smartcitizen:Why not talk about the massive mosques built all over the country? What happens to then after their builders die? Why not talk about the Imams and Alfas there? Why are they not building institutions too? Or is Almajirism supposed to be the good life to live? Or are foreign Islamic missions not suppose to build good institutions in this country too? |
VinnyBaba:Look, it is the right of everyone to live their lives the way they want. Judgement belongs to God only. It is the choice of people not to attend the churches, if they feel oppressed. I wonder all the time why they choose to talk of Pastors, leaving aside Imams and Alfas who live in complete opulence. Why should Pastors always be their examples? All those Sultans in the Middle East are among the wealthiest persons on earth. They never talk about them, but the Pope and Pastors. It is jealous Pastors like this man, who never gave peace, seeing the success of the ministries of others. |
Appletek:Wake up from Tinubu’s loss in the SW in 2023 to Obi. People like you, rather than talk about Oyo state, have focused your attention in Anambra state, leaving the event that happened in your own area. You all claim that Anambra hates ADC/LP, yet the same LP has two senators, eight state assembly members and five members of the federal House of Representatives, leading APGA in the HOR. Why not face Ibadan where elections held and leave Obidients, who were not the cause of APC’s loss there? |
