Phones / Re: What Are The Benefits And The Disadvantages Of Rooting by elfico(m): 7:13am On May 26, 2016 |
Advantages: -you have more control over your phone. -you get to install some apps that only worked on rooted phones. -you can delete useless and junk preinstalled apps -you can flash a new rom or upgrade to a newer version of android if you provider does not provide an upgrade. -you can have more features on your phone by using apps like xposed installer. Disadvantages -you lose your warranty. Though u can get it back by unrooting -you might brick your phone. 10 Likes 1 Share |

Australian tech entreprenuer, Craig Wright has been revealed as the creator of bitcoin. It is reported that he gave proof of his identity as Satoshi Nakomoto by digitally signing a message using the same cryptographic key that was created a few days after the creation of bitcoin, a key that could have been known by only the creator of bitcoin. Car Talk / Re: How Do You Stop A Car That Failed Brake ? by elfico(m): 7:30am On Apr 16, 2016 |
Very good thread. I meant to ask the same question. Just yesterday, a bus full of people suffered a brake failure. It wasnt funny at all. Thank God there was traffic and the bus was not on speed. See people jumping out of the bus. The driver had to move to the parking lane and drove towards a bridge. The bus stopped as it was ascending the bridge. Except for the people who jumped out, everyone else was fine. |

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: How Real Are Online Vacancies? by elfico(m): 12:54pm On Mar 21, 2016 |
Your question is like asking if google search results are real or not. I dont know if these sites verify the jobs they post or not. I got called for a volunteer position I applied for on jobberman. Another time, I also got invitation for a job I did not apply for. I checked the organisation out and it was real. When I called the organisation, I was told they had gotten my cv from jobberman. Thats my experience though. Others may have a different experience. 3 Likes |

Programming / Re: The Greatest Programmer On Nairaland by elfico(m): 3:53pm On Feb 27, 2016 |
While a real challenge like the one @DanielTheGeek posted is a very good thing, this E-beef or whatever you call it is quite childish. Instead of organizing mini-hackathons where we can involve everyone and create solutions to real-life problems, some people are busy having a d*ck-measuring contest. Who cares if u are or think u are the 'baddest' programmer in ur little village. We need to rearrange our priorities to play our part in developing our country. And we wonder why many companies prefer to give tech jobs to foreigner. If it wont be too much to ask, rather than looking for bragging rights like a couple of script kiddies, lets organize a mini-hackathon every month. Something like Google Hash Code, but this time, we use our programming and development skills to tackle problems affecting our country. Peace out. 2 Likes |
