Health › Re: Bad Breath Wants to kill me! Help! by Elijahrona(m): 8:55pm On Nov 11, 2020 |
BadBreathBoy: This guy called bad breath have haunted me all the way from primary school down to secondary and even to my university level.
I am still a young 19 years old guy at the peak of youthfulness but this guy is just ruining everything for me. My self-esteem, public speaking skills, social life, confidence, in fact, everything has been smashed with a sledgehammer right in my face. I have turned into an introvert because of this bad sickness but will cover it up with "Money on my mind" shït.
I have tried everything possible guys. Below are kinds of stuff that I have tried and it is not working.
1. Visiting a dentist. 6 months ago, I took all the money I had to go over to the dentist in search of a solution. Had to wait for hours before getting attended to. When the doctor came in, she first started with some words of encouragement.
Telling me I might not have bad breath and all, people might be thinking they have it but don't blah blah blah. (So me that have bad breath I don't know what I am saying right?) After much talk, she recommended flossing and cleaning. That exercise where water passing through a tiny hole at high speeds is used to remove plaque from in between your teeth. I had to shell out a whopping 4k for that plus the extra card of 500. All the money I saved was gone just like that. It didn't work!!! Bad breath still held me down.
2. Brushing twice a day. I did this for 1 week straight up without any improvement relative to the hard work put in. So I became less consistent with this. Toothpaste I have tried includes, Oral B, MyMy, Maclean, Close up, name it. Didn't work.
3. Garlic and ginger. Some persons here on Nairaland recommend that ginger and garlic can be used to drive off bad breath. The prescription was to swallow it whole before going to bed at night then brush in the morning to remove the after-effects. I tried this for one week. Didn't work.
4. Mouthwash: I have wasted more than 4k in buying mouthwash but these things are just 2 hours wonder from the moment of application. I get fresh breath for the time being but after like 3 to 4 hours, the bad breath keeps on coming back. Still didn't work.
5. Hydrogen peroxide: Someone also recommended I use this to chase bad breath. It also works for sometime after which bad breath comes back. I even tried to dilute less than normal for maximum effects but the only thing I got was an irritating burn on my tongue. I am so not using this guy again!
6. Walnut: Some said walnut could be my Savior so I had to buy them in large quantity to chew but it didn't have long-term effects. So I ditched it. I don't have money to waste as I am still a student.
7. Chewing a combination of bitter leaf, scent leaf, and guava leaves: Out of intuition, I decided to try this combination. My common sense inferred that since it was bitter, it should probably have some effects on the bacteria in my mouth. But alas! Bad breath wasn't even impressed one bit. I even had to stuff them in my pocket and chew on them while going to class. This was a big flop. Didn't work at all.
8. Agnes Nwamma Herbal powder: I don't know what to say about this one, because it was even better that I just didn't brush for that day. Very useless in fighting off bad breath.
The funny thing that leaves my jaw-dropping is that my dad doesn't even brush, he uses a chewing stick but still has a very fresh breath than I that used mouthwash, baking powder, toothpaste and still chew the chewing stick to top that.
9. Chewing gum like Clorets, Methos: I have to be frank about these gums, they kind of aggravates the bad breath. They are simply applying salt to injury so I just stopped using them altogether.
Pls Nairalanders, help me out here. There have been lots of people who found a solution to their problem on here, so I doubt mine will be different. Pls, I need something else to try that will not dig a hole in my pocket as I am still trying to stand on my feet. I need a permanent solution not 3 hours wonder.
Lala pls push to the front page so I can get a large set of solutions to fight this off.
I don't want to resume school like this. I am tired, I am weak, disheveled, exhausted, dejected, depressed, anguished, melancholic, in fact, I have tayad like this.
My confidence and esteem have been crushed by bad breath. Shyness, inability to have streamlined chat with people, playing deaf and dumb, using hand signals whilst communicating, smiling like a peacock when my opinion is required, staying away from girls, snubbing people, rejecting positions that have me talk to a crowd has taken over!!
Pls, abeg, mbok, biko, I need a solution. A permanent one at that. Hello OP I noticed that whenever I talk much, I develop bitter taste in my mouth which can cause bad breathe. I suggest that you restist talking too much. You should also use mouth wash as often as possible. I wish you well... |

Sunstorm95: Those are not Cherry Blossoms .Cherry Blossoms can not grow in tropical climate. Blah blah blah , Those are Sub tropical and tropical trees . Your sadistic job is to oppose any progressive ideas or give a million excuses to remain a shithole. You never come up with any ideas or make any efforts, donations, or contributions, your job is to oppose . That's why Nigeria and Africa is in it's current state with slavish mentalities like yours. . The Cuban Royal palm was originally from Cuba but now introduced to many tropical parts of the world due to aesthetics . Singapore is a tropical country and has introduced the Trumpet trees while clowns like you prefer to remain primitive. Millions of the Trumpet trees will be planted at Calabar and Calabarians will love it , you can chose not to plant them at your place, that's your business. Calabar will be first world developed by 2035 and there's nothing you or anyone can do about it . Wow. Do you know that you can pass an information without insulting others?
My comment was to take your mind to certain factors that are worth considering, but your response is just uncalled for.
Are you saying that I didn't bring a solution? What about "To sustain the culture of planting trees, we usually regrow native trees. Native trees are trees already in our locality".
Tell me why I should hate the idea of planting beautiful trees in our country? To make every idea work, aren't we meant to consider everything that can influence it?
I tell you again: you can pass an information without insulting others. I demand an apology |
Politics › Re: - by Elijahrona(m): 7:31am On Oct 16, 2020 |
Hello Sunstorm95, the trees are beautiful, but you have to understand some things when it comes to tree planting:
1. It is not recommended to plant temperate trees in tropical regions (same goes with planting tropical trees in temperate regions) for they may have stunted growth.
2. To sustain the culture of planting trees, we usually regrow native trees. Native trees are trees already in our locality. If we grow foreign trees here, they will become invasive species and might kill our native trees
Thanks...

Why do you guys always fault Buhari? Read the comments in this thread and see the way people are praising him (at least for this one thing that he has done).
Why must you look at the negative? Can't you find happiness and positivity in a news about Buhari? Must you link the name "Buhari" with bad news?
Take it from me; until you open your eyes and see the man for who he really is, you will continue to be a hater.
Guess what: you, being a hater, do not affect his productivity nor him generally.

I also think that many people are depressed but they do not know it, so they share these negative energy with others (with the slightest opportunity).
What can we do to help? If someone insults us, do not insult them back. Instead, if you must react, treat them with kindness. |

Also, I know that Whogohost has been in the market for a long time. Can you trust them to host your website without the fear that they might crash anytime?
Please get me straight; I am not criticizing them nor do I have any ill intention. I am only curious because I am considering to buy a Domain from Whogohost.

Politics › Re: LAWMA Clamps Down on Cart Pushers in Somolu, Bariga by Elijahrona(m): 10:56am On Aug 09, 2020 |
Cart pushing is beneficial to the society.
Here are some ways they benefit us: 1. The boys can access stress that the trucks of LAWMA cannot access 2. This is a form of hustling that can prevent boys from becoming thieves or kidnappers 3. Removal of waste is everyone's business. We should not discourage others.
Instead of arresting the boys, 1. They should be registered into a union 2. We should educate them to know how to make their jobs more sustainable 3. A place where lost (but valuable) items can be kept should be provided so that the boys can earn rewards when they return such items.
They have the passion, skill, and competence to remove trash from our society. Employ them, do not arrest them
Please we have to look into this.

Education › Three R's Of Waste Management (fun Article) by Elijahrona(op): 5:50am On Feb 12, 2020 |
Three R’s of Waste Management By Elijah RonaPollution dey happen because we dey throwey dirty anyhow. This pollution eh, if e happen, e fit cause problem for our country o. No be only our country sef, e go affect you well well. Some of the problem na flood, disease, poverty, ehen. I know say you go like ask how this dirty fit cause all this problem. Well sha read this story so that you go know how dirty dey cause this problem, how we go take control our dirty well if we use three ways and how we go come take rich more pipu and get better health with beta beta ways to control dirty. The three better ways wey we fit take control our dirty start with letter R. When we throwey dirty like plastic bags, bottles anyhow, they fit block our gutter and that thing fit make area flood especially when rain dey fall. Remember say mosquito dey lay their egg on top stagnant water so if our gutter block, malaria go rampant for that area o. The way when we take dey throwey food when remain fit bring animals like rat, bat, bush meat, snake so they fit bring sickness like Lassa fever when rat carry, Ebola when bat or monkey carry o. The dirty fit bring yeye smell sef. This one mean say when we dey throwey dirty anyhow whether na organic or inorganic dirty, we dey carry bad thing come meet ourselves then still meet other people when dey our environment. Ask yourself this question: wetin I fit do to manage my dirty and throwey the correct way? This question go carry us go the first R of the three better ways to throwey dirty. ReduceWatin be Reduce? How I fit take reduce? The first step na self-control. You go see sweet food for market and you get money to buy am. I no stop you to buy am o but buy only the one wey you fit finish so that you no go throwey the one wey turn to dirty. See another example; you dey go market and you know say you go buy many things. Why you no just carry your own cellophane (nylon bag) go market so that them no go give you another one? If you continue to collect new cellophane everytime, na dirty you dey produce o. By now sha thank God say you don dey know why we need to reduce our dirty. To reduce our dirty fit make you rich o. When you reduce wetin you buy, you fit save plenty money. Continue to reduce your dirty. ReuseWhich one be Reuse again na? This one make sense well well o because e go show say you nor only dey creative but you still like to save our environment. E good make we define dirty as something when we never get use for that particular time. The time when dirty don get use, no be dirty again. What if we use all those disposable cups wey them dey share for party take dey keep our pencil and biro on top our table? What if we use plastic bottle as funnel to pour fuel for our generator? We fit even use them keep some of our cooking ingredients sef but make sure say na the one when you use by yourself nai you dey use o. For Animal and Environmental Biology building inside uniport, we use plastic bottles and their caps take build one fine walkway. When you dey reuse, you go dey think so the more you reuse, the more you go know book. To reuse dirty fit help you to save money because when you reuse something, you nor go come spend money to buy am again. RecycleEhen. This word popular well well. People dey mistake “Recycle” and “Reuse” well well but them no be the same o. To recycle no be to reuse but na industrial process when dey convert something when be dirty to another new thing. For example first, We fit collect book when them throwey then recycle am turn to newspaper or toilet roll. What about plastic bottles? We fit recycle am turn plastic buckets pr another plastic thing. To recycle nai be the best R of all the Rs because dirty fit come out as something new. When we recycle, our natural resources go rest small. To recycle fit make you rich too. For inside Nigeria, place wey them take dey recycle never plenty. You fit open one, collect or buy the dirty wey you want from people then you fit sell the one wey you don recycle. If you no get money to open one, you fit start to sell the dirty when them need give them. To recycle no go only make you rich, E go make other people rich then still make our environment clean. You see? With the three better ways to control dirty, we fit become healthy, rich and our society fit turn to something when oyibo people dey call sustainable. See that dirty when you wan throwey for road so? Hold am, wait till you see trash can before you throwey am. Na me and you go start am then people go follow. How you check the story?
