As a zoologist, I can tell you why female mosquitoes collect blood, but males collect nectar.
Just before proceeding, you need to know that every mosquito (male or female) eats organic matter from water sources.
Now here's the thing:
Female mosquitoes lack iron, but to produce eggs, they need to consume iron.
The most reliable source of iron is our hemoglobin.
Now our hemoglobin does not have only iron, it also has proteins, lots of proteins (if you can make animal feed, you'd understand why blood meal is very expensive).
The female mosquitoes collect your blood so that their young can develop well in their eggs.
Since male mosquitoes do not produce eggs, they do not need iron, so they don't collect blood.
There you go.
What you intend to use this information for is completely your business. |

plusfield: Knife of 1968 will not cut in 2021, Niger Deltans reply Buhari, say Igbos are our blood relations
The Niger Delta Self Determination Movement (NDSDM) has berated President Muhammadu Buhari over his comment during Arise TV interview on Thursday.
President Buhari had said that Igbos are a DOT in a circle, hence won’t have any access if they were to secede from Nigeria.
The president made the comment to ridicule the agitations of the proponents of a Sovereign State of Biafra who are demanding to split from the Lord Lugard 1914 amalgamation.
Buhari said: “IPOB are just like a dot in a circle. If they want to exist they won’t have access to anywhere.
“And the way they are spread all over the country, having businesses, having properties, I think IPOB doesn’t know what they are talking about.”
Reacting, the Niger Delta Self Determination Movement, in a statement titled “The knife of 1968 will not cut in 2021” and signed by the convener, Ms. Annkio Briggs, told Buhari off.
Ms. Briggs told the president to exclude Ijaws from any untoward plans he has for the Igbos, noting that Niger Deltans share blood relationship with the Igbos.
She categorically stressed that the Niger Delta people are also agitating for their own survival, hence do not intend to oppose Ndigbo to their own survival if they choose to leave Nigeria.
The statement reads in part:
“As an Ijaw and from one of the community that is at the mouth of the Atlantic Ocean, of Niger Delta and of Southern Nigeria, whoever from the South that have assured or agrees with Buhari that Igbos are a DOT is on their own and the Niger Delta Self Determination Movement (NDSDM) while agitating for our own survival do not intend to oppose Ndigbo to their own survival, even if they want to leave Nigeria.
“The majority of the Ethnic Nationalities of Niger Delta have not only a geographical relationship with Ndigbo but have a blood relationship with Igbo people, that we do not share with Buhari and his people.
”No matter the politics, blood remains thicker than water,” it concluded.

linearity: I can tell you that, what those police did is illegal and he can get compensated fir the violation of his right if he sues them.
Absent a domestic violence, a police can’t show up and ask someone to leave their home. It does not matter who owns or renting the house, they are married therefore irrespective of ownership, it is joint property with 50-50 ownership.
If she wants him to leave, she can do that by causing a friction, argument or instigate something and if the guy is so naive or stupid to lay his hands on her, then he gets kick out.
The other way to get him out, is to file an eviction notice with the court and a Judge will hear the case and render a decision and an order. Okay thanks |

advanceDNA: We don’t need gender propaganda in our political system...we already have too many issues.... what we need are human beings that will deliver...whether male or female..
It’s irritating when u people bring up issues like this....failure is not a gender specific......it’s repulsive when u people say let’s try women as if women are a different species from Mars or Jupiter .....Later it will will be “let’s try gays and bisexuals, the heterosexual have been ruling us since” . There is better ideas when there is a variety of people at the top. Men, women, rainbow, old, young, etc all see society from a different point of view, so better decisions are made when all are included. One woman ruling does not prevent the thousands of men already ruling from ruling again. |

If I were Buhari, I'll deal mercilessly with bandits and terrorists in my tribe.
I will start with my tribe because if I pity my tribesmen, others will want to "test waters" and this is exactly what is happening now.
Besides, if I should deal with terrorists in other tribes before mine, I'll be viewed as biased and you know...
That's it. Charity begins at home. We will honestly and genuinely fight every negative force (starting from my tribe). We will also give accurate report... |
