BusinessRe: South African Student That Squandered N392m Accidentally Found In Her Account by Elliot2(m): 5:13pm On Sep 01, 2017
Mykel4God:
A student who received a staggering £850,000 (N392million) instead of her usual £85 monthly university food grant is in hot water after going on a massive 73 day spending spree with her pals.

According to Sun UK, the Accountancy student identified as Sibongile Mani, 27, who was on benefits to allow her to study was said to have undergone a Cinderella like transformation overnight after the cash blunder.

It was gathered that student leader Sibongile usually receives £85 each month in her bank account in food and book allowances at Walter Sisulu University in Mthatha, Eastern Cape, South Africa before the sad error saw her account blow to a staggering N392 million.

But people started raising eyebrows when her neat corn-row hairstyle was replaced with £180-a-time Peruvian weaves and she began wearing designer outfits and bought a brand new i-phone 7.
if only she had invested the money wisely, not only could she refund the exact money back to the authority but left with enough to enjoy.
She began flashing the cash kitting out her closest friends with new outfits and drinking £50-a-time bottles of whisky and jetting herself and her pals round the country to wild parties.

Suspicions grew when a till receipt from a local SPAR shop was leaked showing that she had £810,000 in her account and her wild spending became more lavish and talked about.

She was finally outed by Samkelo Mqhayi, deputy branch secretary of the South African Students Congress (SASCO), who reported her to the National Students’ Financial Aids Scheme.

He told Herald Live: “She threw surprise birthday parties for her friends and showered them with expensive gifts and flew them to events where she bought the best seats.
“When the SPAR receipt was leaked showing a balance of R13.6-million (£810,000) in her account I called NSFAS and they checked their records and confirmed that the initial amount was R14-million (£850,000)".

By the time they reigned her in after her two-and-a-half-month spending spree they discovered she had been blowing £666 a day which is a staggering amount in South Africa.

The total missing from the account is £50,000. A fellow student said: “She went from a hard up, humdrum run-of-the-mill student to one who was leading a lavish lifestyle and seemed to have no bottom to her purse and lived the high life.
“She became very glamorous in beautiful dresses with all the accessories and we thought she must have won the Lottery. She must have thought she had won it too when she got that cash!”.

In a Facebook post Miss Mani claimed she had reported the error to the authorities.

She said: ”Today my personal life has become a social media scandal. I have been named and shamed in public. Today, I am a bad person, a person who stole the money of students.
“With that being said, and being named a thief, but as we all know in every story there is truth and there are lies with the very same story”.

She said she was not denying anything but would tell her side later but she has fled the campus and gone into hiding and shut down her Facebook page.

Miss Mani told the Daily Daily Dispatch: ”It is very clear that I didn’t make the error”.

Walter Sisulu University spokeswoman Yonela Tukwayo said the £850,000 payment did not affect other students saying: "All students who were due to receive NSFAS payments got them.

“She will have to repay the money”.

Intellimali chief executive Michael Ansell said: ” Legal action will be taken against the student. A forensic investigator had been appointed”.

The university has 30,500 students of whom 18,000 are funded by the NSFAS who are meant to spend their monthly grants on food and books.

Legal experts have said Miss Mani could face a charge of theft.

PoliticsRe: Biafra: Igbo Assembly Tells Buhari What To Do To Nnamdi Kanu by Elliot2(m): 3:32pm On Sep 01, 2017
PHILipu1:
what funding?
Do you know that it was mostly agricultural produce from the north then when we even had groudnut pyramid in kanu that was used to explore the oil we Niger delta and shouting about?

Do you know that all our refineries were also built from agricultural funds mostly from the north then?

Do you know that the first Niger bride was also built from such funds?

Do you know that most of the dams were built with such funds?

There was time when Nigeria depended on agricultural produce, coal and cotton mostly from the north before we discover oil.
There was a time when one of our major source of income was from textiles factory scathered all over the north.
Oil was discovered and all zones now abandon every other things.

Most of our southern leaders will not tell you guys all this things.

We southerners should not be selfish, there was a time when the north carried this nation on it's shoulder too before oil was discovered.
Indeed, under the Revenue Allocation formula of the First Republic, it was the North that benefitted financially from the contributions of the other three Regions and not the other way round. It will be recalled that by Section 140 of the 1963 Constitution, 50% of oil proceeds went to the Region from which they were extracted, 20 % went to the Federal Government, and 30% was paid into a Distributable Pool. In the allocation of the 30% from the Distributable Pool Account, the North received a disproportionate share which effectively meant contributions from the other Regions. Thus, out of the 30% of the resources of all the four Regions paid into that Account, the percentage paid to each Region was as follows: (a)Northern Nigeria -40% (b)Eastern Nigeria – 31% (c)Western Nigeria – 18% (d)Mid-Western Nigeria -6% (Section 141, 1963 Constitution) Thus, at all periods, since 1914, the North has been and continues to be the major beneficiary of the financial output of the whole country. We must not forget what motivated the British Colonial Power to bring about the amalgamation of 1914. The reason behind the decision of the British Government to amalgamate the two territories (North and South) was purely financial or economic. The Northern Protectorate was not economically viable. It had become a great drain on the British tax payer. On the other hand, the Southern Protectorate was not just economically buoyant, it was producing surpluses every year. The British design was therefore to remove the Northern financial burden from its own neck and hang it on the neck of the hapless Southern Protectorate. According to Lord Harcourt, the British Colonial Secretary, unification of Nigeria demanded both “method” and “a man”. The man was to be Lord Lugard and the method was to be the “marriage” of the two entities. According to Lord Harcourt: “We have released Northern Nigeria from the leading strings of the Treasury. The promising and well conducted youth is now on an allowance on his own and is about to effect an alliance with a Southern lady of means. I have issued the special license and Sir Frederick Lugard will perform the ceremony. May the union be fruitful and the couple constant”. The comparative economic situation of the two halves of Nigeria has not changed in the last 100 years. Rather, the economic power of the South has continued to increase vis-à-vis the North. This explains the fierce opposition of the Northern elites to true federalism, and a National Conference, which might bring this about. On the issue of funds and funding of the Nigerian Federal Government, states and local governments, I think the Northern political and intellectual elite should be grateful to the South, particularly the Niger Delta, the great provider.

You raised quite a good points.. I'm a Northerner myself, so your call hits home. I'm a minority even in my state, so I really don't care who rules this shithole, but one thing for sure is, the Fulanis were the ones that United the North, making the region a strong force. So, I give it to them, I'm happy with the status quo in the North, because, we're mostly one people, Islam and Hausa unites us, so a minority like me can maneuver. But. At a national scale is not the same, I'll like the country to be free from shackle of an oligarchs, I want this country to be land of the free, with zero marginalization towards particular ethnic group. True federalism will be the answer, if implemented gently and tactically.
thank you! you see my bro,if d fulanis can take away there oligarchy mindset, our problem as a people is half way solved.

'Progress Is Never Within the Law”. Never can a new idea move within the law. It matters not whether that idea pertains to political and social changes or to any other domain of human thought and expression—to science, literature, music; in fact, everything that makes for freedom and joy and beauty must refuse to move within the law. How can it be otherwise? The law is stationary, fixed, mechanical, 'a chariot wheel' which grinds all alike without regard to time, place and condition, without ever taking into account cause and effect, without ever going into the complexity of the human soul.

Progress knows nothing of fixity. It cannot be pressed into a definite mold. It cannot bow to the dictum, 'I have ruled,' 'I am the regulating finger of God.' Progress is ever renewing, ever becoming, ever changing—never is it within the law.

the cry of marginalization is also experienced by other ethnicity and tribes in Nigeria. what charly boy fails to understand is that despite the marginalisation being experienced by every tribe, only the Igbo's are challenging the evil sufferings imposed on this country by evil politicians. while other tribes prefer suffering and smiling. wallowing in penury but yet does nothing, but when the Igbo's come out to fight this evil instead of the scared tribes to support them they castigate them and support their oppressors. the clamour for Biafra is simply because other tribes are ready to suffer and smile in Nigeria but not Igbo's.
I served in kogi state during nysc, ijimu lga, dominated by d yorubas, even though some don't admit it. from d chats i had with some of d natives, it broke mine heart to learn of d kind of marginalization those people pass through. there is practically nothing to write home about about their share in democracy. there is marginalization in all corners of d country, but only few sincere ones do admit it.

This is where many people get it wrong,

The success of your political campaign or agitation does not depend on the quantity of your followers but the QUALITY.

Come to think of it,

1. MKO Abiola had most Nigerian masses behind him but the elites were few

2. Buhari never got a shot to Aso Rock since 2003 (despite being so much loved all over the North)until some and influential people backed him up and refined his image,
as africans dis is what u have been made to believe, but d truth is power belong to d people. therefore, for d first time in afri
3. Why does Mugabe so much have a grip on Zimbabwe? Do you think he is so much loved by the masses? It is mainly because Mugabe settles the elites in form of the members of the Independence Army and others.

I can keep on listing, the day your elites see sense in NK's struggle, that is the day Biafra will actualization will start becoming a reality but I don't see such a day very near.

Let him gain millions of supporters everyday, the elites have what the masses do not have- economic power and instrument of violence and coercion.

if u read ur history books,u would know that igbos were murdered in jos n kano riots of 1945 n 1953. nzeogwu's personal reason for d coup may had been altruistic reasons,to fight d bad leaders. but however d celebrations witnessed in d streets after his coup must also had been that they were happy that someone had dealt with with their enemy,or it could as well altruistic. u must understand in all of d cases, all actions were n still remains personal opinions of individuals.there was or is no consensus.

Nigerians: "Igbo hate themselves...Hahahaha! They will kill each other in Biafra like South Sudan and Iraq." how can a people who hate competition ever make progress in life;always waiting for quota system.

Bola Ige was in charge of MKO Abiola Security, as soon as General Abacha died, Abdulsalami made him Liaison Officer to Abiola who was in custody.
Among other People, Pa Adesanya, Bola Tinubu, Wole Soyinka, Bola Ige and others were those behind NADECO and Radio Kudirat.

In early December, 2001, Senator Iyiola Omisore granted an interview where he accused Bola Ige of betraying Pa Abraham Adesanya and Yoruba agenda. He said, this was also how Akintola Williams betrayed Obafemi Awolowo. - Igbo will always betray their collective ambition for selfish gains!

In 2011, during the trial of Major Hamza Al-Mustapha he gave evidence in court in which he stated that the sum of 200 million US Dollars and 74 million British Pounds was disbursed by the Military Regime of Abdulsalami Abubakar to Yoruba Political Leaders including Abraham Adesanya, Mr Fashesun the founder of OPC and especially the members of NADECO (Tinubu, Soyinka and others) to abandon MKO Abiola and his political ambition for a new democratic election in Nigeria.
"I am not such a Yoruba leader. I am very embarrassed at the leaders who fed fat on a struggle that we were pursuing innocently." - Federick Fashesun the founder of Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) responding to the Court evidence of Al Mustapha in 2011 - Igbo will sell their brothers for money!

In 2012, former President Goodluck Jonathan renamed Federal University of Agriculture, Umudike to Michael Okpara University of Agriculture - Igbo thanked Goodluck Jonathan.
But the same year, Jonathan renamed University of Lagos in honour of a Yoruba Patriarch and a Nigerian Democracy martyr, MKO Abiola, the whole Yoruba elites including Wole Soyinka, Tinubu and others rejected it on the ground that the University is too prestigious to be named after MKO - Igbo hate themselves!

December, 2001, Bola Ige - a Yoruba Political Hercules and former Attorney-General of the Federation was shot dead. Senator Iyiola Omisore, a former Deputy Governor of Osun State was fingered - Igbo are not united!

July, 2006, Funsho Williams the PDP Gubernatorial candidate in Lagos State Governorship Election was strangled and murdered. Many Yoruba including Femi Fani Kayode accused Bola Tinubu of being behind the assassination. - Igbo are not united!

January, 2010, a governorship aspirant Adedipupo Dina in Ogun State under the Tinubu led ACN was shot and killed. Many Yoruba politicians including Gbenga Daniel a former Governor of Ogun State has protested and asked Police to investigate Governor Amosun of Ogun State.- Igbo shall kill themselves in Biafra!

In 2014, Toyin Hamzat, a former Chairman of Ikeja LGA was mafianly gunned down in Lagos State. People even Sahara Reporters and Police says is a political execution.

Igbo shall kill themselves if given Biafra, please COMMENT any political killings, murders and assassinations of Igbo Politicians over disagreement on political interests, that happened in the South East since 1999.

I'm still wondering how a 30 years old matured man is scoping a girl in ss2 and still expect her to pass physics and chemistry or mk atleast 5crefit in her weac.
Take it or leave it,it's unfair
do u think her mates, the male counterparts wll not scope her,if he doesn't? would you mind such immature kids to date her? what is hard to understand that the bro has said he is in control of any emotions or actions that will ruin her. that should be paramount,me think.

I didn't remember telling you I am a genius. Even if I was, modesty forbids me to tell you that I am a genius. It's just a moniker. Haven't you seen monikers like smellyanus? Does it mean the person's anus actually smells?
Anyway, you think I am manipulating a young girl because I am not man enough to date older girls?
For your information, I have dated and dumped about 6 girls in my life. 2 of them were my age mate, 2 were graduates, 1 was a working class and 1 was even two years older than me. For the first time in my life, I am dating a teenager that is far younger than me and I have reason for doing this. My 30 years on this planet hasn't been a waste because I have learned a lot of things especially with girls. When I was dating those 6 girls in the past, all I get was lies, betrayal, pretence, insubordination and desperation for marriage. But in this teenage girl, I get a raw, open minded, respectful girl that is quite easy to correct, influence and change. She is not desperate for marriage and therefore doesn't pretend to be what she is not. She has the potentials and qualities that if well guided, can make her a good specimen of womanhood and to add icing on the cake, SHE IS STILL A VIRGIN!
How could a real and sensible man leave such a girl to date some desperate old mates?
i got ur point bro.
