Elrazur will money be a prob? really dont think so if guys are down Money should not be an issue, but then asking people to contribute towards the cost of putting all of these together may never get a head start - Cries of 419 and all that! I am more than happy to contribute a few monies, but we need someone to hold all of it and manage the monies - if we can get any in the first place. |

Sagamite: 9 bloody thread pages and nothing to show for it, no wonder the expatraites in Naija laugh at us that we can not organise a queue.
Can people just cut the crap and be constructive instead of engaging in some lame flirting/cat fight that makes me cringe.
I don't know if the OP wants to retake control from here and take inputs from those that have structured contributions to find out the:
Best location and venue (ideal, if someone has a big house with a garden, I wouldn't expect more than 30 people will show up)
Desired date/weekend period (if we can't agree on a date, weekend period is a good start)
Financial approach (contributions required? Or someone owns a cash n carry and is offering)
Desired amenities (PS3, DJ, BBQ, Drinks, Speed dating games, Pole for pole dancing, whatever floats people's boats)
Accountability for all of the above (Names specified for those to organise and help the OP)
Ideally, the moderator should delete anything that does not help in gathering these info from here henceforth.
Tired of this naija approach to things. Dude I left in disgust. It sucks when people wont quit acting like teenagers who are high on fizzy drinks and alcopops. **shakes head** Yeah I am still up for it. I suggested a few places as requested way back, but the same people just didn't post anything meaningful to the effect. Ideally, it would be nice if we can all have it done in a private place like someone's house. But I really do not know who's got that kind of space. Given the fact [or what seems like one] that most who have shown an interest are local to central London, one way or the other, perhaps CL may be the venue? Unless there are objections etc. As for entertainment, I am more than happy to bring the spare tv - I think it is 37 or 42 inch Lcd. Another member promised a PS3 already, so we need to think of refreshment and music like you pointed out. If people are willing to make small financial contribution, we can get a caterer to take care of those easily. The biggest issue will be venue. If we can get a place from a member, then we would have to reant a bar/hall etc. Now this bring in the issue of money, Music can be supplied via boom box or we can look to get a dj, Again this will cost money. Finally, Date and time will be ideally on a weekend - assuming majority of those coming want it on such day. And it would be nice to start like around Mid-day or probably evening time? Hopefully people won't turn up late. |

spoilt: I have a cousin who is a taker. She doesnt understand why she has to thank anybody for anything. Its like trying to nail jello to the wall trying to show such people anything or trying to change them. Either you keep giving and giving and doing and doing so that peace will reign or you move on. I refuse to take you serious until you prove you look like your profile picture. |

davidylan: teach her with your actions not by lecturing. slowly she will change.
How many times do you show you love her? Or you're sitting there like the typical nigerian dude waiting to be feted and worshipped? No dude you are wrong. Using debonsky and co's logic, what you have to do is quoted below. ElRazur: No! You blame her mum. Period! And you should use the story of one "emotionally wrecked" man to judge the mum and the daughter. After all, the daughter learnt it all from her. Also just do not consider that perhaps the girl may have some personal demons she is fighting, Now that will be engaging common flipping sense. |

Erm okay. I personally will not judge her ways and lay it squarely on her mum. There isn't enough evidence to do that. |

amebo no1.: No matter the two sides elrazur, there is no biggie in saying sorry or thank you to your lover
if you are waiting for two sides then you hagve to contact every single member on dis forum dat has opened up a thread and then ask them to bring the second party I am not condoning her ways, I am merely stating that Debosky cannot blame the mum for a 20something year old girl behaviour. We just truly do not know if her mum is responsible. |
Romance › Re: Should I Marry Her? by ElRazur: 12:50am On May 12, 2009 |
debosky: Very simple deductive reasoning - her mum is single and was left by her dad. She says But that is a wrong assumption to make. That alone is not a reason that will warrant her behaviour. Further more, you appear to have conveniently left part of my post unanswered! Personally, I wont blame the mum, as we just do not truly know if she is responsible or not. There may be other underlying reasons for her acting that way. Remember, for every story, there are two sides. |

debosky: Does the connection elude you?
Her mum has shaped her opinion of men from when she was a child, and this has led to warped thinking. In essence, her mom warped her thinking. Being such an influential figure in the lady's life (the one who raised her and trained her) her mom's opinions are almost sacrosanct to her. She will need a strong role model that she respects before she will alter her mindset. How did you arrived at that? I just find the whole thing funny. Do you not think, she may have had her own demons and something totally not connected to the mum? Just a thought. |

debosky: Her mom has taught her bad habits - she thinks by being standoffish and not being respectful to a man, she won't appear weak and then he won't throw her out. I guess her mum was nice and loving to her dad but still got kicked out.
She needs proper role models in her life. Now you blamed her mum? Lmao, And then you blame her for "wrapped thinking" lol |

Oi if you have to ask, then there is an issue, Sort it out first. She may be one of the many naijans that do not know how to express their emotions directly to people. It is hard to change people like that, you either put up with it, or find someone else. If she tells people she loves you, but never tells you then this only buttress the above point. She may be emotionally damaged, or just not used to it. Sorry, I can tell you precisely what to do. |
