Sam Milla:I am forced into thinking you will believe anything. I am forced into thinking you are Gullible. I am forced to think you take anything at face value without actually taking time to think if it is true or not. India beat Nigeria 99 - 1 in what? Rugby? [Nigeria have no rugby team] Cricket? [we aint a cricket nation] Football? [Do you know how rubbish a team will have to be to concede that many goals? it will have to be more rubbish than the worst football club in Nigeria] I think am going to stop now. This is just funny and at the same time annoying. Unless off course you are being sarcastic. |
Sagamite:Religion the best thing ever? Where is your proof of this? Let us step away from making baseless claims it ruins a debate/discussions and even it if was an opinion, expect it to be challenged. You second point contradicts your first in a way. If it is the best thing ever as you claimed, will it not be logical for you to bath yourself in the aqua of religion? After all, it will be the best thing ever to happened to you. ![]() Humans will always be stupid whether there is a religion or not. That is why we have rules, norms, legal rule and regulation etc. The problem with religion is the fact that it can be a double edged sword. People have been known to do stupid things in the name of religion, even though you make this claim of it being the best thing ever. Prophet Mohammed had sex with an 8 year old, will it be okay for some one following the values of Islam to sleep with your 8 year old sister [assuming you have one]? The bible advocates that "If a man dies and his wife fails to provide him with a male son, the woman should sleep with younger brother until she can have a son", erm do you agree with this? Or do you still think it is the best thing? No we do not need more religion. We need to wipe away the one we have or have it regulated, it is a bloody cancer that is eating into how humans think. Humans will always be moorons, that we will have to accept - that I can. But NO more religion is not needed. |
I do not see what the problem is. They are merely responding to a growing threat in Nigeria. If they are law makers and those running the country, will anyone here want to begrudge them of their safety? After all, criminals are getting bolder in their ways in our country. Brazil is a place that we need to look at. Armour plated vehicles are sold their in hot cakes. This is in response to the high levels of crime and kidnapping going on there. Nigeria is starting to enter that "high risk level" phase, so it can only be logical that the people respond with spending money on such items. If you ever sat in an Amour protected car or seen the damage it can withstand then perhaps it will all make sense. To put things into perspective a window shield of an Amour car can take repeated rounds of Hollow tips bullets without damage or injury to the occupant. Seriously, who wont want something like that in a crime-ridden nation? |
Fucking bullshit. Absolute and utter non-sense. Here are the facts [retold from a perspective of logic and fact] Robber tired to rob. Robber attracted attention. Robber escaped. Stupid and idiotic Vigilante makes ludicrous and absurd claim of impossible transformation. It is funny how these claims are never caught on camera. Surely, if am a thief, transforming to a uber fast car or all terrain vehicle will be more sensible than a goat? [Original story claimed it was a goat, and now a sheep, which is it exactly?] |
Pastor AIO:Excellent observation. ![]() His predictions should be something like this "Goals will be scored and tempers will flare. It will be an interesting match and sometimes a one sided affairs. However, the better team will win in the end" lol |
I don't see what the problem is. He did exactly what the Quran wanted done to unbelievers. I am sure he is going to heaven where he will be rewarded with 42 or 72 virgins. [Whether this virgins are ugly or under age girls is another matter] |
This is 2009 for crying out loud and to see all this things just shows how backward the mindset of the people are. Sure we may use the latest handset, have similar technology as other countries, but gosh we are backward period. His predictions are not specific. It is an insult to even compare him to nostradamus [Nos's prediction are even questionable too] He goes on making general and vague predictions and tries to present it as the real deal. I see he jumped on the Obama wagon too. Oh gosh, I am not a believer and I knew Obama was going to win and so do many others, does this makes us extra ordinary too? People like this in my opinion should not be given the time and platform to make their bullshit heard to the rest of the world. I wonder if there is anyone on here that believes him without a doubt? EDIT If I remember correctly, there is something called "Self fulfilling prophecy" he appear to be playing on that alot. Our borders are very porous so anyone will know that it can be used to smuggle stuff in and out. Also proclaiming that a terrorist attack will happen should be enough for the government to lock him up. The is inciting hatred and in a way encouraging people who have the mindset. After all, it has been "predicted" and this people will try all they can to make sure it comes to pass. |
spikedcylinder:@spikedcylinder Yes it is in the Quran. The Prophet did have sex with an 8years old and subsequently married her at around that age too. Or further more, the Quran advocates the death of non-muslims, jews and homosexuals. It is a good thing one have access to an English version of quran. The thread was removed in what I see as an attempt at bad censorship. |
Shock horror, Not! It's been happening for years. Is it just now we are noticing. Anyone remember the "Koko toxic waste" Saga back some years back? We clearly haven't learnt anything. Until we stand up and think we will continue to be butt of the world. |
Ideally the age length is questionable, but if they are able to carry out their duties without impairment in judgement then they can go for it. The strange thing is that none of them will probably live that long with the poor life style they live anyway. |
I heard of him before. Gosh what a complete waste of time. So how many Nigerians here can actually say they understand what he is talking about? He was elected to represent and speak for the people. So far he is doing nothing but using what in his views are big complex word with an addition of a few elementary latin. As long as we have this sort of mentality then we really cannot move forward. What was the aim of the so called interview? Perhaps I missed it. If he speaks like that in the house, then the government at large needs to take a step back and look at what they are supposed to be doing. |
Prophecy and religion goes hand in hand. The thread was removed. I can't be bothered making another one. An overall look of this forums shows there isn't much open minded people around here. |
Erm my thread is definitely deleted. What kind of religion suppress truth? Interesting. |
Yeah I see what you did. I personally do not buy into the whole God thing so my beliefs in prediction is non-existent. Have you noticed how this so called predictions exploits the fear of our people and play on their spiritual beliefs? And like suckers my people take this shit up without asking questions, and we think white people are gullible. Jeez my people are. You should check out my thread in the religion section - Islam one. Muslims go on about how Mohammed is perfect., yet not many of them knows that in the Quran, he had sex with an 8year old. Please tell me how can this be acceptable and even considered a religion? We really need to change how we think. |
Predicting the "known and common occurrences" is not exactly prediction or is it now? I am surprise you haven't predicted that we will all breathe, blink and take a shit. ![]() On a serious level predicting is something that needs to be wiped away from our culture. The whole idea of making prediction in Nigeria was made popular by Pastor Olabayo. It is a stupid and backward thing to do. People need to face up to reality and think for themselves. |
Please ignore this. My thread is still active. An over sight on my end. Thanks. |
Is there some sort of censorship move here? I made a thread on Muhammed having sex with a minor and it seem to have disappeared. It is a fact, it is recorded in the Quran. Why can we not have a debate about it? |
Yeah if anyone for one second believe this, then you will believe ANYTHING! We aint achieved much in 40years plus. So it is safe to conclude that this is utter garbage. |
So you ignored other points I raised, and instead opted to dig up another flawed point. Awesome. Look dude, not to sound confrontational or pouring cold water on your post. You ideas sounds good on paper, but it is flawed. In fact, severely flawed. If only you take time to see the counter-arguments. If you aint talking about clean slate then what exactly are you talking about? A road to clean slate? You say tomatoes, I say tomatoes, same thing? No? Declaring your assets means nothing. While it may be a path in the right direction if can be easily by-passed. There is nothing stopping these people from seeking funds - legally from their family members to buy a property or other assets which can then be declared as something obtained legally. I'm sure you can see the loophole [flaw] in your big idea. A you happy for the public to know exactly how much you take home in a month? What ever happens to personal data protection? An assets register, all well an good. Oh wait, it was done in the UK [ a similar scheme] only for fraudsters to use such information to secure loans in the names of people who posted their info on the site. Will you want the public having access to what property you own? Imagine if you annoy someone and all they have to do is check online what are you asset and proceed to destroy them? The point is it is a security risk and security is one of the area we fare poorly in naija. I refer you back to first point. Do you confiscate something simply because if wasn't declared if though it was obtained legally? Your so called federal agency are bunch of people with too much power. Their deeds are no incorporated into our constitution and as such, such move in my opinion is deemed legal. What is the next big one you have? ![]() Do you really feel corruption can be tackled in such manner. Have you ever wonder why corruption is rampant? It is bigger than your federal agency ideas you see. |
Your opening post just like the Nazi Germany, it is total madness. I don't see how you can equate the death of millions of Jews to corruption issue affecting Nigeria. It is very crude and shows a lack of understanding of history. As for the points you outlined, it is fundamentally flawed. Here are a few reasons. Nigerians will the ones running this same ideas. The same Nigerians you have labelled as corrupt beyond redemption in your own post. How do you go about selecting people who have a history of a clean slate? We have a very bad habit of keeping records and keeping tracks of thing so I cannot see how this will be achieved. Even if you employed those whom you think have a clean slates. How do you cope with the dishonest ones that will be working in other areas? How are you sure the secretary of your main man aint selling the details in the file to those who are after such information? I can go on and on. But the point is, corruption needs to be approached from a multiple levels and instead of just setting up a body that shows a reflection of the old anti-corruption body. Perhaps we need to go back to the very basics like making certain amenities available - educating the oncoming generation on what corruption can do on a larger scale. You know, get them to think of everyone else and not themselves in the short and long run? How about we stop rewarding every idiot with rewards ? And instead actually reward people who have contributed at a local level or something worthwhile for the community at large? Corruption in Nigeria is a mindset and more or less part and parcel of our culture and traditions. It will take more than enforcement policies to make any changes. Your idea remind of WAI in the 80s [War against Indiscipline] how long did that last for and are we not more indisciplined now than ever? And finally, Yardua and his daughters private life have F*** all to do with this debate. It is things like these that stops us from having a head way. He didn't spend your money, mine or anyone else. If he did, let the court the decide. In the meantime let us leave him out and stop bringing irrelevant stuff in to the debate at hand. |
