St.Funmi:Is it me alone who see many things wrong with this headline? ![]() |
Good news? To who exactly? The Common man or the Officials that will become rich in the process? How many programs like this have been done in the past with little or no result to show for it? I am very sceptical about this. |
Whoever had the idea clearly haven't left the shores of Nigeria. A government official like Jack Straw is manned 24/7 either by body guards, GPS tracking and constant monitoring in one way or the other as he is a potential terrorist target. Hence there will be NO way he will be stuck in one part of the world and needing money. I suppose the writer of the email was viewing it from a Nigeria's mentality where we can ask people to "borrow" us money in time of need. Things are done differently here. Government officials can not run out of money while abroad - especially high profile one. The author of the email should have done a bit of research. |
christ4mi:Please stop fooling around. Tell the people the real thing. How some alien from somewhere created humans and how much money the religion take from people so as to "go up a level". Tell them the strong opposition worldwide that face your so called religion. Tell them how it is not even granted a religion status in some countries in the world. Tell them the "fair game" tactics your religion employs on anyone who tries to expose the shams behind it all. Tell them how it is perceived as a cult by many places around the world, I can go on dude. But please stop clowning around. As for your "charity work" like prison rehabilitation, Oh boo hoo cry me a river. Proper religion outlets do run a charity works - Red cross will be one big example as it is supported by both Islam and Christians. Have you been plugged to "that machine" yet? You know the one they use to know how gullible you guys are. This is true, Please look it up. bawomolo:Haha. Just saw that. You must have money like the celebrity you see. Remember Tom Cruise? What a phucking idiot! He is an actor and as such should stick with acting, instead he goes around trying to force scientology on people, and then gets mad when it is challenged lol. It was rumoured he was dropped from the Mission Impossible Franchise because of his stupid beliefs. There was once a program here in the UK tha exposes their dark side as they was investigated by a reporter. In the end, they employed a fair game tactics - i.e trying to dish the dirt on reporter and exposing his past. Funny enough, no one was interested in the journalist past but people where extremely interested in the controversies surrounding Scientology. |
It smacks of irony if you condemn one religion when it appears you have little knowledge of yours. I will take what you say with a pinch of salt. Your religion is a "celebrity religion" and it was founded by a former Science fiction writer. I dare you to explain your religion to anyone here. If nobody thinks your religion is ridiculous then I will rest my case. |
christ4mi:Scientologist? Please don't make me laugh. I suggest you go read up on how your religion was formed and what your beliefs are. |
Gun ownership in a messed up country, been supported by those who are supposed to have their heads screwed on - CAN [christain association of Nigeria]. Oh God. The irony. |
Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Now that I vented some anger, let me know post with less anger! Who gives a damn if you are a majority, minority or even non existence. Seriously, who gives a PHUCK if you are ebira? It is this stupid mentality of division that is killing my people and it is pathetic. Why ebira people? Why not someone who can do the job without discrimination. I personally do not care who runs the country as long as they run it well and ensure there is a fair services to everyone as possible. It is this stupid mentality of division that have ensured we have more and more states, thereby making it complex for us to run a nation effectively. Also, if I may ask you why did you upload a picture with your post, It makes no sense. Or are you just seeking attention? It is too big and needs to be resized. |
asha 80:If you read the other thread that is discussing this topic as well, I have already explained what I feel the British press do here. In a nut shell, they do NOT have obsession like the Nigerian press. Gordon Brown do have one eye and this have not been a topic for the press to dabble in week-in week-out. On the flip side, the comedians however do mock the people in the government as it is a long standing tradition here. |
asha 80:Funny how you avoid all simple common sense and opted for the damn right ignorance route. Do you not see anything wrong with the obsession going on here? Please answer that question. |
asha 80:You are missing the point. Every body have the right to a private life -whether or not they are in public office. Secondly the press should not have cultivated a childish habit of prying and speculating about people's health state. It is despicable and disgusting. |
@Asha80 How Ironic will it be if you are to die before him? Another excellent thread highlighting the unhealthy obsessesion of the NIgerian press with the President's health. I wont even bother with this one. |
Why do we allow this Spam bot the air and time? Don't moderators here actively ban people who make stupid post like this? ![]() I have a feeling someone will believe this and actually give it a try. |
The link to the story is not loading up. So it is hard to give a concrete explanation from here. The thing how ever is that given the economic situations, people will lose their jobs. It is what happens in a recession and it is not discriminatory whether you are British, Nigerian or from the moon. |
J 4 Life:Clearly you have poor grasp of sarcasm. I am NOT running any business. I am instead mocking those who are running what I perceive as scam and want to show people how one can be anything on a forum. I think if you take time to read and actually understand my post. I did mention how people can be gullible, The key emphasis here is the word Gullible. |
presido1:What an inaccurate thing to say. What if the judge decide there wasn't enough evidence to convict them? You clearly know very little about how convictions works. |
If a business have to come to a forum to advertise its services via shoddy thread on the boards then I will say people approach with caution or better still ignore such business. If they are well established, they will have money to run a proper advertising in the first place. I can't believe people are already exchanging numbers and wanting to know more. Here I am running a business and it requires only 10 dollars to start and you will see your return of 55% in a month. Please let me know if you are interested. After all, there appear to be gullible people around here. ![]() |
People People, pleaser relax. The trucking business is a front to cover his other illegal avenues. There are plenty of them over here who run such fake companies - well the companies are registered and real - but their main source of income is from their scam. As for the guy that said how come people still get scammed despite the high publicity surrounding 419. Well I use this logic to answer your question. How come every one do not have internet access in nigeria despite it becoming a "must need"? The fact is there are old people or people who do not know what 419 and are not up to date like you and me on this particular issue. Further more, the scams are getting more sophisticated ever than before. |
@Gamine I surely hope you are not posting that as a proof. It is nothing more than "Red eye". A phenomenon in photography where the flash occurs too fast for the eye. It is seen in animals and humans when photographed at a close range. |
blacksta:This is getting tiresome now. I do not know him and nor am I affiliated with him in anyway or form. Like I said before, I am merely defending common sense. I suppose this is probably too much for a few folks around here to grasp. The president is running the country as he see fits and as stipulated by the Nigerian constitution [hence why I said by Nigeria's standard] Simply because you read all the stories of him not doing well or been a "baba go slow" do not mean he is so. Don't forget that the we are quick to highlight the negatives, when we completely ignore the Positive side of his tenure so far/ 1000 step backwards? Really? Please list 100 out of those one thousand bawomolo:"He was showing signs of being sick" Can I ask you what you do for a living and if you are in anyway qualified to give assessment on his state of health. You guys keep missing the point. You do not have the right to know his health whether he is serving the public or not. He's got the right to privacy which people like you and the media are not allowing him. How hard is that to understand? Here let me give you another example to highlight this for you. Two people in a room. One smokes and the other do not. If the smoker decides to smoke, and the other persons object to it. Who do you think have more right? The smoker who have the right to smokes what he wants and the non smoker who have the right to breathe clean and unpolluted air? Deal with that and you may see why you and those nosing around have no right to his health affairs or record. He is running away from the camera so to speak, as individual like you have turned it into an obsession. For how long is the discussion for his health going on for in the Nigerian press now? Too long if you ask me. Please stop comparing Apples and Oranges. Dick cheney never had the American press reporting day in dat out, or on a weekly basis on his health. It wasn't an obsession like we have here. That is the point you guys are missing. |
bawomolo:Do you have any proof he wasn't physically fit when he contested for office? Or do you have proof that he is now unfit? Until you have read his doctor's report on his state of health I don't think you are in a position to make comments on his health. It is things like this that baffles me about us. It appear many of my people will believe anything as long as it is in the press. |
noetic:I am saying am not in support of him or Pro Yar'dua like some seem to think. As for Boris, it all depends on where you stand. All the cases of his alcoholism are "alleged". Also there other reports that claims he suffers from a neurological disorder that affects his sense of balance. This we cannot prove or disprove and as such, I will restrain from saying he was drunk when he declared war on chechnya [A war that lasted two years] His performance as a president haven't stalled in my opinion. He is a leader and as such should be allowed to get on with his job. noetic:No I don't see how I am contradicting myself. You are however trying to use the justification of "service and accountability to the people" to pry into his private life. That is just wrong and amounts to voyeurism on the part of the Nigerian press and who ever see the urge to know about his private life - especially his health. noetic:I must say the example of using your payslip is probably a wrong example. However, let us not lose the fact that he is running the country well [by Nigeria's standard off course] and as such the disclosure of his state of health should not be up for debate. As accountability goes, his health state in my view is off limits to the Nigerian press. His banning of photos is within reasons. If his health are becoming a national obsession then it is understandable that he bans the media. It aint like his photos are fetching dollars or been hung in galleries. There are abundance if the Nigerian press really want one. What they are doing is to paint in in ill-health as much as possible. So he is with reasons that he bans them. As for Gordon brown. I need you to let us compare likes for likes you see and not just take what suits us to back up our points. I need you to remember that UK is different in the sense that they have a long running culture of making Comedy satirical of those in power. However, they do not have a strange obsession with prying into the lives of those running the country, which is what we are doing in Nigeria. Remember Jeremy Clarkson had to apologise after calling him "a one eyed idiot" the other day. It is because people here frown at such things. |
texazzpete:Hi to you too. ![]() I think you will find that m16 have had massive improvements and tweaking over the years. The M16 used in the Vietnam war is not the same available at the moment as there have been various variants [improved version]. On comparison, the AK have stayed the same due to it simple design and what not. |
blacksta:Again I am merely defending common sense here and am not in anyway Pro or Anti anything. I suggest you look up on my few posts I have made on the short time I registered here. Please point tell me which of these leaders have made decision that blows in their face and can be directly linked to their poor health issues? Or you are going to make a baseless claims and present it as fact? Boris Yeltsin was always appearing to be drunk, but he still managed to run Russia and never did I remember him making a bad judgement as a result of his alleged alcohol problem.Dude we have no idea what is wrong with the president [ that is if anything is wrong with him in the first place] until them it will be simply unnecessary to make bold claim as to what he is suffering from. Now on second thought, if he is suffering from liver/kidney problem. You do realise people suffering from such condition can live a fairly normal lifestyle that over all have no hindrances on their Mental judgement whatsoever? If in doubt have a look up on dialysis machine and what it does for the patient. Dis Guy:Now you want go quoting people's right and what not. Yet you forget that the president have the bigger right to keep his health affairs private. Here, please scan and upload your payslip here. At least I have the right to know how much you are earning, No? Again I am telling you what I told the Blacksta - The alleged condition do not in any way have an impact on how he runs the country. It just goes to show the back ward mentality my people have toward people they consider "disable". So what if he is limping on both legs? He do not make decisions with his legs but with his advisors and his brains for crying out loud. Please point me to a link where the press in the UK talked about the Jaw of Gordon brown. Stop posting inaccurate information. The pressed never talked about the weight of John Prescott. He wrote an autobiography where he addressed the issue before it was serialized in the press. Alistair darling colour combination? What the mess is that? Please pass me a proof of this. For your information, Gordon Brown is BLIND in one eye and yet the media do not jump on about it in here nor do they run weekly article here on the state of his eye and question if he can run the country or not. People wake up and smell the coffee. |
Sagamite:It makes no sense at all am afraid. You claim religion is the best thing ever to happen to human race, yet ironic enough your post will suggest you do not practise one. Now you are making a claim it is good for controlling Morons. How did you arrive at that? Are you suggesting people who practise religion are morons then and people like you are the pinnacle of human race? Please don't make me laugh. You keep saying "the more we can get in, blah blah blah" But you wont exactly follow through with a proper explanation. Dude that is a bit weak and not how to exchange ideas and views on a forum. Speaking of Morons in a religion. What do you have to say to those who strap a bomb on their body and detonate it in the midst of innocent people? Using your logic I guess those people who commit such atrocities are not slowpoke in your eyes after all religion is the best thing to happen to mankind right? Jeez dude, Sagamite:Dude again you displayed your advanced form of ignorance. Do you in your head think "Go and ask you pastor, " is a proper reply to a legitimate and logical question? Typical Nigerian move, you make absurd claims then try a reflective manoeuvre when questioned over it. For your information, I am an Atheist and a person that actually studies religion hence why I asked you those questions. You claim religion to be self regulatory, yet when posed to explain why you come out with utter garbage like "tough" you refuse to explain, instead dive into more riddles. Yes religion have no say whatsoever on hard drugs. It is down to interpretation. On the other hand, most countries of the world have a well laid out and well defined laws on drugs. Please before you come in here to talk your riddles again, please remember this is a forum and there are people like me around that will challenge such vague attempt to pass of crap as the real thing. |
Sagamite:I really do not see your point. What is you respecting the opinion of others got to do with the price of tea in china? If you claim religion is as good as one can get it still baffles me as to why you aint practising one is what am asking you. It is a bit of a noob approach if you fail to defend a point you made when challenged. Could this be because it is just simply absurd and indefensible?Sagamite:What rules of religion are far more effective? Please tell me a rule of religion or a verse in the bible/quran that discourages the use of Hard and illegal drugs? You seem to be making your claim along as you go. Maybe you should actually deal with the questions I asked you before. Please explain to me how religion is self regulatory. |
I'm sorry but it is people like you who just ooze ignorance. Why the unhealthy obsession with the man's health? It sucks. Many leaders in history and as of now do have their health issues, I do not see how this is of any difference. Only that people like you and the immature Nigeria's press have an unhealthy interest. So what if "e go die soon o"? Like you or the idiots who have an obsession with him will live for ever? People get a grip. This ain't no news. |
Let us look at thing going on here and compare it to real life. There is massive division in which this forum is run. It is the same in Nigeria. Just take a look at the religion/culture/tradition section. A forum run by a Nigerian for Nigerians, I think it is inevitable that we will bring our true colour and allow it to transcend. Restriction in freedom of speech. Can you say what exactly you want in Nigeria? The locking up of journalist, heavy regulation of the press and undue influence of people's view are just a normal thing in Nigeria. Over here on the online world, there appears to be similarities. I made a thread asking people's view on the fact that Prophet Muhammed had sex with an 8 year old. That thread magically disappears. Ignorance. Our people are very ignorance of many things - I'm not in anyway insulting anyone - and coming online here, there isn't much difference. There are lack of well informed individuals and a lot of people who will believe anything without asking if there is even an ounce of truth in it. Then you have the backward and outdated mentality. This is a common occurrence in real life with my people and this I have observed on this place too. Obsession with titles and accolades. Every fuji musician is either an Alhaji, Dr of Music, or some other outrageous title. Even the so call man of God now swim in this territory too. Now let us take a look around here. People just seem obsessed with becoming somehting simply because of the name it carries, even though they know little or nothing about what it entails. These are just a few of my observation. And to answer the Original poster, Yes this place is not in many way different from the real Nigeria. |
I don't understand why we spend time writing "petitions". If there is a single proof he used public money for personal game, let us quit mocking and clowning around. Let be books be thrown at him and let the due process of law take place. It is a waste of time with this petitions if they have no conclusive proof what so ever. Nigerian press needs to learn the basis of journalism before they keep reporting things in this manner. So far the name of people involved have been dragged through mud, even though there isn't a proof. |
I see what you mean and your reasons for saying so. A klashnikov will ideally be an over kill - using your logic of close quarters combats- I guess a hand gun will do? Or better still something compact like an Uzi or even better still a Micro Uzi? Imagine the M16 in the hands of a Militant in the Niger-Delta region. The government soldier will be at a disadvantage if they have to cross path - taken accounts availability of night scope and all that. As for the Black Hawk incident. They [US army] made a bad tactical decision by flying those million dollars weaponry at low altitude, not deploying flares, under estimating the capability of the enemy etc. Didn't the Russian suffered a similar faith during the invasion of Afghanistan as well? Anyway, I am not dismissing the deadliness of the weapon as such, but I personally feel the weapons are a bit dated. I'm sure if you have your army, you will want better weapons. ![]() I think we may be derailing this thread lol. |
blacksta:Remove the plugs from you ears and surely you go hear word. You have to look at the bigger picture. We have different phases in the development of a nation. The first 20 years of independent should have been a time we invested a lot in Nigeria and have the structures running. By the third decade of independence [i.e 30th years] we should have start to see the economic benefit trickle through to the people. This appears to be a model used by nations that had independence as the same time as us - Malaysia and Ghana. Both are doing better than us and their in MANY WAYS. Now going back to the point I'm trying to make. Nigeria have missed her chances and land marks to where this implementations should have taken place as a result, we are now in a phase where it is more a less like "survivor of the fittest" and every man is to himself and no one. Hence why there are sharp rise in violent crime -just look at the delta region. Even if all these monies are "invested" it will not make any difference now because we have passed that "point of no return". It will require more and more spending which the result will most likely not be visible in the short run, and probably not in the long run. |
I agree with you. It is a good thing they are using AK47. It still shows they are backward. AK47 is used mainly for it simplicity and durability in tough conditions. However, the recoil rate sucks and reliability can be questionable at times. It is a favoured weapon in the shoddy under world, but there are better weapons - M16 and a few others. Let's just hope these criminals do not go beyond using rudimentary RPG, "technicals" and AKs ![]() A major manufacturer have moved production to Brazil full time and if I remember correctly, one can by an APVs [Amour protected vehicles] from 20k depending on level of protection. |

The truth is gradually coming to light, I knw right from beginnin CAN is a terrorist organization. I have seen CAN led churches keeping guns in the so called place of Worship. I am an ex christian. Now I chose to be a democratic[b] scientologist [/b]as my religion. Because Biblie is a false book. The Full naming of CAN is collection Anti Nigeria. What do u knw with gun laws
