G20 represent the nations with the richest and powerful economies in the world. Nigeria is non of these, so I don't see how this is even an issue. ![]() |
lanre88:There is nothing to watch. It is a well known fact - Muhammed had sex with a minor. The minor in fact, was his last wife before he died. One of the problem with Islam is it won't entertain criticism. It wont such a problem if the religion itself is perfect, but as we all know nothing is perfect. In the case if Islam, it refuses to change. The problem is, most Muslims do not even know this and yet they will gladly die for their religion. ![]() |
Ahmadtjk:You clearly do not know the art of drawing attention to things that are wrong. Yes, the topic have nothing to do with religion. However, it so do not stop me raising an important point. This will happen under sharia. Hell, it is happening in the northern states. Where old men are getting married to sexually immature girls. Please look these things up. The bill introduced in Nigeria to stop the marriage of young girls at a young age [they have to be 18] is not enforceable in most northern state [our constitution allows laws to be amended at state level so as to conform with religion and tradional values] One of the argument is that Prophet Muhammed had married a girl at 8 and had sex with her at 9, hence it will breach their "religion rights" if the law that stops under 18 from getting married enforced. The point I am making is that, people need to know and we really need to change our ways. Who in their right mind have sex with a 8 year old? Clearly, Prophet Muhammed was morally wrong to have sex with a minor, yet Islamic scholars will defend this to the very end. I once started this topic in the Muslim section, only for it to be deleted. For the record, I am an atheist. |
I tend to follow this event, but this year I did with little interest. My focus was more on the protest. US alone is not the problem, the problem in my opinion lies with the principles of Capitalism - it is fundamentally flawed as we have seen. This year's summit wont solve anything, but instead it will be a stepping stone towards achieving their overall goal. Obama was pretty much relaxed, cool and confident in his speech here with the press. Gordon brown was assertive and expecting the other G20 members to buy and implement his big idea from what I can see. The French and German leaders appear to have a different set of view before going into the meeting. It was also reported that the French leader threatened to walk out if certain conditions are not meet - He is well known to love dramas lol. I suppose at the end, they moved a little step close to what they wanted - Sort out the financial mess the world is in. |
If he is a Muslim, then it is justifiable. Before you come saying blasphemy or come at me with guns, I suggest you read up on Prophet Muhammed and how he had sex with a minor. ![]() |
If they are stupid enough to rely on voodoo to carry out their robberies, instead of making a proper plan of their missions, then they deserve to be shot to be honest. ![]() |
It is a good thing they have kept this going for a while now. It can only lead to better thing. If you are in the UK and keen on stuff like this, please pm me. We knows what we can achieve. |
And how is this not illegal I don't understand. ![]() Can the mod at least lock and hard delete thread like this. |
This story [if true] just highlights the many backward mentality and black and white thinking that is plaguing our people. The mere fact she is mad will at least suggest that her story should be taken with little substance. The bite mark could have happened as a result of other incident. The guy could have admitted to it out of fair - after all, he did say that he was in fear of his life, if he lied. It is a common fact, that under intense pressure, people will admit to what they haven't even done. The alleged father should have remained anonymous, until it is properly established that he is the father. This story shows how bad our so called media is. The puff puff seller is now stigmatized for life. From what I can see, not a single DNA test was done. And ideally, the authority should have intervened and dealt with the matter privately. We have a long way to go. ![]() |
Okay, I have plenty of time this morning and I took the massive challenge of ringing them up on 0800 626066 [ a free phone number within UK]. Anyway, the explanation I gave before was the answer! "It allows us to sell the same product abroad without much modification to existing pack." was what she said. There you go folks. Case sorted. Where is my prize? ![]() |
presido1:I think you may be missing the point a bit. From what I can see in front of me, it appears the actual product was made in the UK. Since it is a universal product - i.e do not need a modification for outside market, it do not matter where it is made I would think. If I remember correctly, the NAFDAC rules requires registered product to carry that I.D number on their product packaging right? Hence that, nay explain why it is present on the pack. |
It makes it cheaper for them when some of the stock are destined as import. One pack containing all the information will save them money instead of printing an "import pack" pack only. |
blasterman:I agree. However, I will like to see IBB charged too. What about all those monies Abacha embezzled, was it ever return accordingly? On a different note, I think the cleanest president we ever had was Shonekan lol. |
How is this worthy of a debate? ![]() Next you will be telling me Virgin airline air stewardess are cute. |
vanitty:In order to ensure the survival of the larger community, a few deaths may be needed. You are clearly having a wishful thinking if you feel you dont want one person to die. If at first you don't succeed, then try again. So goes the popular saying! If people who have shaped humanity positively gave up on their first and second trials, Jut imagine that. When it comes to aids, money will carry on falling into the wrong hands. We have a selfish mentality and when people are in power, caring about the majority of the common people are usually their least priority. In fact, I will go as far to say that hundreds of thousands or even millions will die. But in my opinion, it will worth it in the long run. I think we need to realise that we are living in a world where it is always the survival of the fittest. So far, Africa is not even fit. We need to do whatever it takes to get fit, and one of the big way is to come of Aids completely. Records from the past have shown that it is counter-productive to say the least. |
vanitty:If memory serve me right, that process have been done before, however in a different way. There have been investments from outsiders purposely for the sole aim of making sure that our long-term reliance on foreign aid is manageable, however such programme failed. I personally feel, we need to pay the price for our reliance on aids to be honest. If these aids stops, people will become more resourceful one way or the other. We are humans and our survival instinct will kick in. Yes people will die here and there, but I personally believe it wil be a price worth paying. How long have we been on aids for? Don't forget that giving aids to African will make us perpetual consumers - which is what the 1st and 2nd world wants. If we however, get the balance right, then we will be more of Producers and Manufacturers. This will benefit us better than the position we are currently in a the moment. |
Who gives a 5hit? Why is this even news? For phuck sake, you will be telling me next that Yardua actually uses the toilet like you and me, |
All aids to africa must stop. Period. After all, if you give a man a fish, he eats for a day. |
I hate to point out the obvious. It appears the Original poster do not follow international politics! International terrorism is not the same petty crimes/violent crimes. A few weeks before the meeting, several police officer died as a result of terrorist attacking them and the Cricket players they were assigned to guard. Just look this things up. ![]() |
This is of no relevance. So he posed with what look like a weapon? For all you know it could have been a replica. So he posed with money, for all you know it could be props - I'm into photography so I should know. There is no proof that it is tax payer's money. ![]() This is nothing but a young man "acting up" and a few people seem to be buying this already. |
The question is what took them this long to come up with the idea? bawomolo:Perhaps if they stayed in their own country? Just a thought. Also may be if some immigrant just act like Romans when they are in Rome? afam4eva:So you have dealt with the WHOLE of the British people to post such a comment? |
A-town:I believe the film "Catch me if you can" was based on him. |
People seem to be missing the title of the program - HARDTalk. The problem with the interview is down to differences in understanding and approach to matters. OBJ is a man at the forefront, while the presenter just got fed notes and read research from the producers. Also, OBJ wasn't very articulate in some area. Overall he did a good job and it aint "funny" like some people are painting it. |
Sagamite. I cannot be bothered to be dragged into this again. Let me make this easy for you. I will not reply to you again, because from where am standing, it is like trying to explain the colours of the rainbow to a man blind from birth. , It is a complete waste of time. My Lord of war movie is more interesting you see. |
dejiariyo:If I can ask you to explain as to how the "West" is trying to force this issue down our throats? What do the western world have to do with homosexuality? Remember that homosexuality have been around before the "western world" was even formed! I suppose you are one of those people that shy away from the matter at hand and just blame the west, How ironic, that you are using a "western medium" [i.e internet] to express your inaccurate views. Comparing bestiality with homosexuality is like comparing a car and a horse. Two different things you see. To avoid further unnecessary debate, I will advise we stick to the matter at hand. blinx4real:Can you explain to me how the homosexuals are "trying to force their lifestyle down your throats"? It is people like you who spreads misinformation and paint inaccurate picture of events. From what I can gather, all these people are asking for is to be treated the same wasy like any other human and not be intimidated or suffer from reprisal as a result of their sexuality. Surely how hard can that be for you to understand? From your post, I will have to say I will NOT be reading your so called blog as you are more like the ignorant one to be honest. You speak from a perspective that suggest that homosexuality is a choice. Jeez dude, was it your choice to be right handed or left handed? Speaking of being left handed, I am one the only one in my family that is left handed, my granmother always try to force me to use my right hand because it is not "normal" to be left handed. How wrong of her! Little did she know that the one's dominant hand is determine by several inborn mechanism and factors. The point is, you are as ignorant as my grand mother to be honest. Until you open your mind and learn that being a homosexual do not in reflect that it is a choice the individual person made. It is something that is inborn. A stance supported by science and well documented evidence. Finally, do you think every relationship have to involve two opposite sex? Jeez you really are very ignorant. |
This is a waste of money and time. You cannot "rebrand" a nation when the very people of that nation are backward. What we need is "reprogramming and mass education". Anyone remember War Against Indiscipline [WAI] back in the 80s and early 90s? Ain't it a similar venture, and what happened to that? It faded away as soon as the government regime who started the initiative moved on. |
civ-rev:It is ironic because all those ignorant people screaming it is unafrican are doing so using unafrican methods lol. They sit on a sofa, that was made using methods they wasn't African, use a computer that was not made in Africa, wear clothes that use unafrican methods. Lmao at the irony lol |
0thello:For real man. [sorry if my post is filled with errors and typos, my eyes are heavy as lead lol. I need some sleep] I totally agree with you, it is nice to see a few voice of reason, in a nairaland filled with so much ignorance to be honest. I really do not see what the problem is about, but I guess this is a case of "man fearing what he do not understand". There are bigger issues at stake like kids dying from malaria, to the average citizen who cant have access to a decent healthcare system. It just shows how we haven't got our priorities right back home. Like I said before, it will be tough for the current generation of homosexuals in Nigeria, but I am sure in the coming decades, they will be accepted more. I have no problem with them, they are not affecting my life or making me uncomfortable in anyway. In the words of Richard Prior, I think people moaning about them need to "Shut up [eat a stick of suya], have a coke and smile." lol Im off to bed, |
Othello. I lived in the northern part of Nigeria when we first moved back to Nigeria, and it wasn't uncommon to hear of "Dan dawudu". It is basically, name given to young men who engage in homosexual activities and sometime dresses up as women. The whole homo things is well known in Kano back in the 80s. The point, am trying to make is that homosexuality is even more common than we think. What annoys me is the fact that, muslim and Christians can't even leave together, so I do pity anyone who is Gay - they will be fighting a hard battle. I have total respect for the guy that stood up in front of the law makers to speak in Nigeria, Kudos to him. |
0thello:Shut up man, that is "unsubstantial and unproven claim" ![]() God save us from people with tiny minds. I'm sorry but from the onset, I knew this was going to be something like this hence why I am not even making much effort. I really cannot wait for his next reply. Perhaps he will blame the western world for corrupting the pengiuns. |
Sagamite:For what its worth, it appears you have problems grasping the basics of English. Here, is a definition of the word Tendency: # Movement or prevailing movement in a given direction: observed the tendency of the wind; the shoreward tendency of the current.I have taken the effort to put in bold the parts I need to draw to your attention. ![]() Now that you know the meaning of the word, let us go back to the debate shall we? The word Tendency was used as it is something that is not fully understood. However, the behaviour observed in various animals bears the same characteristics of homosexuality. So on that note, it is wrong to make a firm conclusion when the concepts is not fully understand - as there are still on going research and unpublished reports. You claim to be open-minded and very objective, yet you are quick to say "case closed". That really is the classical definition of irony, with a hint of arrogance that is again engrossed in ignorance. I suppose that is your way out of as you aint really saying anything meaningful so far. Let us move to the next point shall we? ![]() Sagamite:A dog humping a human leg is nothing more than an instinct. However, I really do not see what that have to do with the price of tea in china. That is like mixing apple and oranges - totally different things. You asked for a proof, I posted you one. Yet you are quick to condemn it - a typical "naija mentality". How can you call it unsubstantial claim when even a zoologist knows and teaches this in schools? How do you call a well documented observation something unproven? I suppose you really are ignorant. You can call me what you want, I just see it is a reflective mechanism so as to divert attention from the issue at hand. But hey, I am not that keen to play your "name calling" games with you. You made a claim of going through all the sources, yet you appear to have missed that these sources are actually real and none was based on unproven claims? I suppose this shows your reflective approach again. Will it be a fair part to ask you for a proof that you went through ALL like you claim? I am guessing you cant. Sagamite:You know, apart from watching tv, I do actually read to educate and challenge my mind. Just thought, I should point that to you. Again, you made claims to have gone through all the sources to what I posted initially, yet you seem to be missing a lot here. You do realise plenty of animals have been observed in the wild. I gave you examples of my personal experience and posted a link of well documented evidence. I suppose taking it is probably too much for you to deal with. If you are an objective thinker [whatever that means!] I think you will find that none of your views with me so far are objective, [talkless of being a thinker] if anything it is rigid and very much outdated. Here, let us test that "objective thinker" in you. Do you realise being Gay is not a choice and it is an inborn mechanism. Before you come back, there are studies and well documented evidence that backs this up. EDIT I forgot to say that you appear to be moving the goal post, first you wanted a proof and now you changed it. How typical, and you are supposed to be an objective thinker, Jeez don't make me laugh, as my tummy hurts already. |
Homosexual tendency is observed both in wild and "domestic" animal. I lived in a rural area during my time in Nigeria. It is not uncommon to see a male goat [the one called Obuko in Yoruba language] to try and mate with a male during heat period [heat period is the time they female goat is ready to conceive] It is also not uncommon to see a hen trying to mate another hen. Anyone who reared animals will tell you this is true. I am not the type to come in to a debate without knowing my left hand from my right hand you see.. When I mentioned, there is a lot of ignorance around here, you just demonstrated that. Since you appear to be one of the ignorant ones, here educate yourself and get some knowledge. Roy and Silo are Chinstrap Penguins who were a homosexual couple in New York City's Central Park Zoo.[1]Here is another one for the ignorants to read about. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homosexuality_in_animals If you do not know something, I will urge you to enlighten your mind my friend. Do not believe something simply because it was said in a "church" "mosque" or is labelled as wrong. You will be restricting your knowledge and therefore remain ignorant. EDIT There is more if you want. I really just don't want to get into this debate due to the kind of mindset around here. |
