we really need to watch the way we criticize other people's religion. What has islam got to do with this. We should have the fear of God.
There is nothing to watch. It is a well known fact - Muhammed had sex with a minor. The minor in fact, was his last wife before he died.

One of the problem with Islam is it won't entertain criticism. It wont such a problem if the religion itself is perfect, but as we all know nothing is perfect. In the case if Islam, it refuses to change.
The problem is, most  Muslims do not even know this and yet they will gladly die for their religion.  huh

When you guys going to stop, May be u can read very well the topic had nothng to do with religion, But here you go again.
i believe the culprit might one of your pastors or Revernt, Na so your misrable life go finish hahahaha, SHARIA FOR LIFE you will never here this kind of nonsence from my side of 9ja,
You clearly do not know the art of drawing attention to things that are wrong. Yes, the topic have nothing to do with religion. However, it so do not stop me raising an important point.

This will happen under sharia. Hell, it is happening in the northern states. Where old men are getting married to sexually immature girls. Please look these things up. The bill introduced in Nigeria to stop the marriage of young girls at a young age [they have to be 18] is not enforceable in most northern state [our constitution allows laws to be amended at state level so as to conform with religion and tradional values]

One of the argument is that Prophet Muhammed had married a girl at 8 and had sex with her at 9, hence it will breach their "religion rights" if the law that stops under 18 from getting married enforced.

The point I am making is that, people need to know and we really need to change our ways.  Who in their right mind have sex with a 8 year old? Clearly, Prophet Muhammed was morally wrong to have sex with a minor, yet Islamic scholars will defend this to the very end.

I once started this topic in the Muslim section, only for it to be deleted.

For the record, I am an atheist.
Foreign AffairsRe: Thoughts On G20 In London by ElRazur: 8:48am On Apr 02, 2009
I tend to follow this event, but this year I did with little interest. My focus was more on the protest.

US alone is not the problem, the problem in my opinion lies with the principles of Capitalism - it is fundamentally flawed as we have seen. This year's summit wont solve anything, but instead it will be a stepping stone towards achieving their overall goal.

Obama was pretty much relaxed, cool and confident in his speech here with the press. Gordon brown was assertive and expecting the other G20 members to buy and implement his big idea from what I can see.

The French and German leaders appear to have a different set of view before going into the meeting. It was also reported that the French leader threatened to walk out if certain conditions are not meet - He is well known to love dramas lol.

I suppose at the end, they moved a little step close to what they wanted - Sort out the financial mess the world is in.

This story [if true] just highlights the many backward mentality and black and white thinking that is plaguing our people.

The mere fact she is mad will at least suggest that her story should be taken with little substance.

The bite mark could have happened as a result of other incident.

The guy could have admitted to it out of fair - after all, he did say that he was in fear of his life, if he lied. It is a common fact, that under intense pressure, people will admit to what they haven't even done.

The alleged father should have remained anonymous, until it is properly established that he is the father. This story shows how bad our so called media is. The puff puff seller is now stigmatized for life.

From what I can see, not a single DNA test was done. And ideally, the authority should have intervened and dealt with the matter privately.

We have a long way to go. sad

Pls i need answers to these questions.

It makes it cheaper for them when some of the stock are destined as import. One pack containing all the information will save them money instead of printing an "import pack" pack only.

Why must it be NAFDAC Number?
I think you may be missing the point a bit. From what I can see in front of me, it appears the actual product was made in the UK. Since it is a universal product - i.e do not need a modification for outside market, it do not matter where it is made I would think.

If I remember correctly, the NAFDAC rules requires registered product to carry that I.D number on their product packaging right? Hence that, nay explain why it is present on the pack.

Well that did slip out of your tongue very easily didn't it?
I am not okay with even just one person dying
It has been tried before but it failed that was solely the fault of bad governance but who is to say if tried again with appropriate system put up so that the money don’t keep falling into the wrong hands, it won’t be successful?
In order to ensure the survival of the larger community, a few deaths may be needed. You are clearly having a wishful thinking if you feel you dont want one person to die.

If at first you don't succeed, then try again. So goes the popular saying! If people who have shaped humanity positively gave up on their first and second trials, Jut imagine that.

When it comes to aids, money will carry on falling into the wrong hands. We have a selfish mentality and when people are in power, caring about the majority of the common people are usually their least priority.

In fact, I will go as far to say that hundreds of thousands or even millions will die. But in my opinion, it will worth it in the long run.  I think we need to realise that we are living in a world where it is always the survival of the fittest. So far, Africa is not even fit. We need to do whatever it takes to get fit, and one of the big way is to come of Aids completely. Records from the past have shown that it is counter-productive to say the least.
Foreign AffairsRe: U.S. Aid To Africa Must Stop by ElRazur: 9:26am On Mar 27, 2009
vanitty:
I think a combination of both aid and fair trade will do a whole lot of good than just cutting one off for the other. A system in which Africa is weaned off the aid would be more appropriate.
After some time, when the trade has taken off then the aid could be stopped.
Stopping aid abruptly will be disastrous for the people that depend solely on it.
If memory serve me right, that process have been done before, however in a different way. There have been investments from outsiders purposely for the sole aim of making sure that our long-term reliance on foreign aid is manageable, however such programme failed.

I personally feel, we need to pay the price for our reliance on aids to be honest. If these aids stops, people will become more resourceful one way or the other. We are humans and our survival instinct will kick in. Yes people will die here and there, but I personally believe it wil be a price worth paying.

How long have we been on aids for? Don't forget that giving aids to African will make us perpetual consumers - which is what the 1st and 2nd world wants. If we however, get the balance right, then we will be more of Producers and Manufacturers. This will benefit us better than the position we are currently in a the moment.

If I can ask you to explain as to how the "West" is trying to force this issue down our throats? What do the western world have to do with homosexuality? Remember that homosexuality have been around before the "western world" was even formed! I suppose you are one of those people that shy away from the matter at hand and just blame the west, How ironic, that you are using a "western medium" [i.e internet] to express your inaccurate views.

Comparing bestiality with homosexuality is like comparing a car and a horse. Two different things you see. To avoid further unnecessary debate, I will advise we stick to the matter at hand.

blinx4real:
Let me start by saying that "I don't give a kobo about gays and homosexuals", I am of the opinion that every man is free to do whatever he wants to do BUT and a very big but at that is that I do not enjoy homos trying to force their lifestyle down our throats. It is despicable and unfair, I believe we (I mean straight folks) are the ones who should be complaining.
Marriage as defined by every accepted definiton is a union between Man and Woman with the intention of building a home and procreation. A homosexual relationship cannot achieve that not now not forever. Why do you want to enjoy the priviledges of a union while you do njot want to subject urself to its conditions. So pls u guys should stop clamouring for the right to marriage, let those who can abide by the condition for marriage be entitled to it.

If you are an homosexual, kindly Visit my blog for the full article. Then you can stop speaking from an ignorant point of view, http://blinx4real..com
Can you explain to me how the homosexuals are "trying to force their lifestyle down your throats"? It is people like you who spreads misinformation and paint inaccurate picture of events. From what I can gather, all these people are asking for is to be treated the same wasy like any other human and not be intimidated or suffer from reprisal as a result of their sexuality. Surely how hard can that be for you to understand?

From your post, I will have to say I will NOT be reading your so called blog as you are more like the ignorant one to be honest. You speak from a perspective that suggest that homosexuality is a choice. Jeez dude, was it your choice to be right handed or left handed? Speaking of being left handed, I am one the only one in my family that is left handed, my granmother always try to force me to use my right hand because it is not "normal" to be left handed. How wrong of her! Little did she know that the one's dominant hand is determine by several inborn mechanism and factors.

The point is, you are as ignorant as my grand mother to be honest. Until you open your mind and learn that being a homosexual do not in reflect that it is a choice the individual person made. It is something that is inborn. A stance supported by science and well documented evidence.

Finally, do you think every relationship have to involve two opposite sex? Jeez you really are very ignorant.

I am so disappointed to notice that many people on this forum have chosen to go against people with gay sexual orientation. It is every human's right to be free from persecution. Unfortunately this is not true in nigeria in that you find that people persecute others simply because they can. What do they mean un-African? I would tell you what is un-African. Killing and persecuting fellow Africans in the name of religious believes that are not originally African. Research the church and see the atrocities they committed with the name of the same God that you love so much. Research islam and see the atrocities they commited in the name of religion. I am not saying anybody should be change or fash his religion. All I am saying is that we should learn to be more tolerant and accept others as fellow humans that are entitles to their own views and orientations. Why do we ignore the defects of our own beliefs but strive to persecute others. I am christain and i don't think gayism is right to God.But I accept the gay people just as I accept people of other views, ideas, orientation, religion. This is the true meaning of freedom and democracy. Remember anybody could be in a similar situation tomorrow. I don't see how gay people affect our citizens. They are not commiting any crimes apart from their plea to be free and left alone. They should not be persecuted for being few. As I write it I weep for them. Please learn to be more tolerant Nigeria. cry

We're on the same page, while I've never lived in the North I know what kind of irrational bigotry other people can be subjected to. I'm not saying homosexuality is right (I'm not the morality police) I can say that it is perfectly natural for it to happen within the populace. It doesn't matter how strict the government are on it, it appears because it (for some people) is unavoidable. Just by mathematics alone homosexuality within a civilization is BOUND to happen.

Humans are part of the natural world, the natural world has homosexuality in it, deal with it with non-violence and without subjugation. There are already enough people to socially ostracise them, they don't need to be crippled by the government on top of that, they are no physical threat and in the event they are there is a justice system for that. Nigeria really needs to evolve intellectually transcend. China is making some pretty good moves maybe Nigeria needs to take some lessons from them when it comes to politics and economical stipulations.
For real man. [sorry if my post is filled with errors and typos, my eyes are heavy as lead lol. I need some sleep]

I totally agree with you, it is nice to see a few voice of reason, in a nairaland filled with so much ignorance to be honest. I really do not see what the problem is about, but I guess this is a case of "man fearing what he do not understand". There are bigger issues at stake like kids dying from malaria, to the average citizen who cant have access to a decent healthcare system. It just shows how we haven't got our priorities right back home.

Like I said before, it will be tough for the current generation of homosexuals in Nigeria, but I am sure in the coming decades, they will be accepted more. I have no problem with them, they are not affecting my life or making me uncomfortable in anyway.

In the words of Richard Prior, I think people moaning about them need to "Shut up [eat a stick of suya], have a coke and smile." lol

I lived in the northern part of Nigeria when we first moved back to Nigeria, and it wasn't uncommon to hear of "Dan dawudu". It is basically, name given to young men who engage in homosexual activities and sometime dresses up as women. The whole homo things is well known in Kano back in the 80s.

The point, am trying to make is that homosexuality is even more common than we think. What annoys me is the fact that, muslim and Christians can't even leave together, so I do pity anyone who is Gay - they will be fighting a hard battle. cry

Sagamite:
OK, tendencyhuh

So you agree their are NO homosexual animals, all you know of is tendencies?

Case closed.
For what its worth, it appears you have problems grasping the basics of English. Here, is a definition of the word Tendency:
#  Movement or prevailing movement in a given direction: observed the tendency of the wind; the shoreward tendency of the current.
# A characteristic likelihood: fabric that has a tendency to wrinkle.
# A predisposition to think, act, behave, or proceed in a particular way.
I have taken the effort to put in[b] bold[/b] the parts I need to draw to your attention. smiley

Now that you know the meaning of the word, let us go back to the debate shall we? The word Tendency was used as it is something that is not fully understood. However, the behaviour observed in various animals bears the same characteristics of homosexuality. So on that note, it is wrong to make a firm conclusion when the concepts is not fully understand - as there are still on going research and unpublished reports.

You claim to be open-minded and very objective, yet you are quick to say "case closed". That really is the classical definition of irony, with a hint of arrogance that is again engrossed in ignorance. I suppose that is your way out of as you aint really saying anything meaningful so far. Let us move to the next point shall we? smiley

Sagamite:
I have also seen dogs trying to mate with humans by humping their legs, that does not mean the dog is gay or beastial it is just in heat and has no access to cooling down.  undecided

So this is your evidence that there are homosexual animals?

Unsubstantiated claims and opinions of people? This is your left from you right? This is how you educate yourself? This is knowledge? Chopping all crap given to you is knowledge and have the guts to turn around and call other people ignorant?

And if I call you a slowpoke, people will think I am being harsh. For your information, slowpoke, I have taken the liberty to read this probably well before you did and went through all the sources and found out it is just an unsubstantiated CLAIM.
A dog humping a human leg is nothing more than an instinct. However, I really do not see what that have to do with the price of tea in china. That is like mixing apple and oranges - totally different things.

You asked for a proof, I posted you one. Yet you are quick to condemn it - a typical "naija mentality". How can you call it unsubstantial claim when even a zoologist knows and teaches this in schools? How do you call a well documented observation something unproven? I suppose you really are ignorant.

You can call me what you want, I just see it is a reflective mechanism so as to divert attention from the issue at hand. But hey, I am not that keen to play your "name calling" games with you.

You made a claim of going through all the sources, yet you appear to have missed that these sources are actually real and none was based on unproven claims? I suppose this shows your reflective approach again. Will it be a fair part to ask you for a proof that you went through ALL like you claim? I am guessing you cant.

Sagamite:
We are in the 21st century and have had advanced and revolutionary documentary filming of nature that we could never imagine we will ever see. Just watch the documentaries on BBC, Discovery Channel etc.

Show me a clip where there is a small population of an animal group that has access to opposite sex animals but refuse and develop sexual relationship with same sex animals exclusively  for an extensive period with penetration and ejaculation. Then I will know you have showed me a gay animal, slowpoke.

slowpoke, I am an objective thinker that is not scared to question things and unlike you don't chop whatever is fed to me and think it is sausage.
You know, apart from watching tv, I do actually read to educate and challenge my mind. Just thought, I should point that to you. Again, you made claims to have gone through all the sources to what I posted initially, yet you seem to be missing a lot here. You do realise plenty of animals have been observed in the wild. I gave you examples of my personal experience and posted a link of well documented evidence. I suppose taking it is probably too much for you to deal with.

If you are an objective thinker [whatever that means!] I think you will find that none of your views with me so far are objective, [talkless of being a thinker] if anything it is rigid and very much outdated. Here, let us test that "objective thinker" in you. Do you realise being Gay is not a choice and it is an inborn mechanism. Before you come back, there are studies and well documented evidence that backs this up.

EDIT
I forgot to say that you appear to be moving the goal post, first you wanted a proof and now you changed it. How typical, and you are supposed to be an objective thinker, Jeez don't make me laugh, as my tummy hurts already.
PoliticsRe: Homosexuals Storm National Assembly by ElRazur: 11:46pm On Mar 16, 2009
Homosexual tendency is observed both in wild and "domestic" animal. I lived in a rural area during my time in Nigeria. It is not uncommon to see a  male goat [the one called Obuko in Yoruba language] to try and mate with a male during heat period [heat period is the time they female goat is ready to conceive]

It is also not uncommon to see a hen trying to mate another hen. Anyone who reared animals will tell you this is true.

I am not the type to come in to a debate without knowing my left hand from my right hand you see.. When I mentioned, there is a lot of ignorance around here, you just demonstrated that. Since you appear to be one of the ignorant ones, here educate yourself and get some knowledge.

Roy and Silo are Chinstrap Penguins who were a homosexual couple in New York City's Central Park Zoo.[1]

The pair were observed trying to hatch a rock as if it were an egg. When the zoo staff realized that Roy and Silo were both male, it occurred to them to give them the second egg of a mixed-gender penguin couple, a couple which previously had been unable to successfully hatch two eggs at a time. Roy and Silo hatched and raised the healthy young chick, a female named "Tango" by keepers. Their story is the basis for the children's book, And Tango Makes Three, by Justin Richardson and Peter Parnell and illustrated by Henry Cole.

Tango is now a healthy young female penguin. She has formed a relationship with Tazuni, another female penguin. The two have paired the last two mating seasons. [2]
Here is another one for the ignorants to read about.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homosexuality_in_animals

If you do not know something, I will urge you to enlighten your mind my friend. Do not believe something simply because it was said in a "church" "mosque" or is labelled as wrong. You will be restricting your knowledge and therefore remain ignorant.

EDIT
There is more if you want. I really just don't want to get into this debate due to the kind of mindset around here.
