Pweety4me:A few people have opted out. It is better at this stage, it will be annoying to have them back out during payment. One of the many reasons I am yet to move to the next stage. We need more people as a few will drop out or not pay. ![]() |
Well I have similar thought as you. I once said that, while Music production is something I have done as a hobby, I am not keen on calling myself a producer. But that is me I guess, as the word "producer" get thrown around a lot lately. The thing with Fruity-loop is that while it is very good and can reproduce almost anything out there - mind you I never said everything. The down fall is that every one can use it as it is almost one of the most pirated music software ever. What you then get is people who produced subpar stuff, who have no idea what sound engineering etc is about calling themselves producers. Not taking anything away from those who are using it as their main choice of DAW, however it is not the industry standard. The industry standard in my opinion are Pro Tool and Cubase [and to some extent Logic], but then, these days it is about what works well for you. A few Producers have become rich in Brazil just producing the local artist with FL studio. Personally, I bought a boxed version and just do not see what the fuss is about. Needless to say, I am using Ableton live at the moment and Have Pro tool and a few other bits on order. I suppose the term producer have been watered down now and it could mean anything. From the guy who laid down the beats, down to the artist who oversees the production of his own album. I very much doubt you will see FL studio used in a Professional setting, but I could be wrong. |
rapjunkie:Apologies for that. What will your contribution be? Serious post can be missed once there are plenty of irrelevant post in a thread. |
debosky:I see what you mean. However, the issue of monitoring a nation like Nigeria when it comes to Nuclear use will be seen as some as another form of colonialism etc. Also when it comes to running a full blown version, there are many unseen outcome. Since we are talking nuclear here, perhaps Nigeria is better off with another method until a maintenance culture is instilled in us - those who will be trusted to run the facility. If we don't, I foresee a Chernobyl-like event at some point. As the matter stands, I am on the fence to be honest. I want constant power supply as it will help ease a lot of things, but then the lack of maintenance culture won't come over night. |
da-whizkid:Thanks. Well it will be a track about 3mins the most or so. I am thinking it may be worth recording a seperate vocals and then have it mixed into the back tracks, but then let us see how it goes. So as it stand we have the following people in Vocals - Krayola, Whizkid Contributing writers - Java love Back tracks: ElRazur Can we have more people on board please. I.e Serious people. Is Genuflect up for this one too? |
@debosky A quick glance at the pdf document on my phone shows that it is for research and in operation for limited amount of time. Surely, this is not the same as running a full blown NPF? |
![]() 21 questions. Not sure what to make of it. No I don't hate nigeria. |
Jeez use paragraphs next time. My head burst from trying to read that. |
@krayola You are right, coordination and communications are one of the hurdles that come to mind. I am thinkng if we get enough interest, perhpas one can tackle that via yim and other stuff. Also, if we need to transfer file between ourselves. We can easily host them on somewhere like those site people tend to use around here a lot. As it stand, we need more people for the vocals. If would be nice to have more people on board. Dunno how long it takes to put a mix tape together in real life, but setting say a three month Target period will remove rush and let people know what is expected of them etc. Whatever the case, I welcome all proper inputs. |
I was aware of the link, but clearly what BB said is different from what was in the link. Welcome to nairaland I guess. |
Again no proof is forth coming forward. Israel have stated there is no proof to say it is them. As it stand, people are just pointing fingers without proof. However, it should be noted that UK's action was after a report from the SOCO. |
yemipretty:Yes the internet are subject to rules of the country. Only that the laws are not applicable outside the country. This ruling will make it almost illegal for anyone discussing the case in an on-line forum in Nigeria. However, how will those flaunting the courting ruling be caught is another question. |
otawa:Are you seriously kidding me? I think you too may want to read and understand the OP before you post again. Kai. Nah wah men. |
Busy_body:Can you please read the original post. He's long enough to get his stay is not an excuse. Source for your last paragraph please. |
There is no paddy paddy here. It will be strictly for those of us who post here mostly. If people vote to have someone removed or what not. Then it shall be so. ![]() |
Yes I will die for Nigeria IF only it will make a change. No point dying when most will chicken out and the cause will be lost. |
lalaboi:Well anyone who is on nairaland is welcome [and they post regularly]. There are enough talents here in my opinion to make something worthy of a mix tape. milkan05:Well yeah, but you may have to post a couple of beats for people to hear. ![]() |
Richy, people take the liberty of the British compassion and it can cause a ripple effect - I.e the upsurge of more and more disgruntled white people who are unhappy as to how immigrant seem to get a good deal when they come here. For example if you come here from a war-torn country, you will mostly likely get a place and money to live on - all footed by the tax payer. When those who are here by birth or whites are told there is nothing the government can do to help [well placed on a waiting list etc] Another example is this radical islamic guy that is feeding on UK's tax payers, yet he's got a property worth over 150 grand. I mean, there comes a point when the people and the system will fight back. I think we are long due for that stage ages ago. Can you imagine, people from poland are reported to travel down to UK for free abortion as it is free and works out cheaper than doing in their own country? Personally, I have no mercy for the guy in the original story. Winning medals is not the same as abiding by rules. |
^^ Even those are are by birth after 1982 or so have to prove that their Parents are here legally or something along those lines. I know a couple of friend, that are given "Right of abode" on their Nigerian passport, but not given a British passport as they are unable to prove their parent were legal or something. ![]() |
@Richy Yeah the laws looks different. Besides, US have the land to accommodate all kinds. We are an island and literally full. lol. |
Yeah it is a good idea. Just let see how many people are interested. ![]() |
Richy, we are all equal under the law. I think the point I am trying to get at is the those who are naturalised after certain date [Please let no one quote me as I am not 100% sure over this] is that when serious crime are committed. The Home office can decide whether their citizenship is stripped away or not. But this is usually in extreme cases - For example Preaching Jihad against UK etc. Have a read here [see link] It gives an overview of some of the complexities. http://www.nrcentre.org.uk/downloads/training/OISC%20L1%20-%20Nationality.pdf Also, if he's got an immigration case pending, he is not doing himself any favours at all. |
Right. ![]() |
It may be worth holding up yet. Let us see how many people are interested and we can then take things from there? Just a thought. But if you really want to post it. Please feel free. ![]() |
Dis Guy:I think you should. With the right technology, a government can have control over internet. China is a good example. |
The internet is one of the last few places where there are proper freedoms of speech. If a judge is trying to curb this, that I am against it. Simple. Let him learn from China V Google. You cannot curb freedom of speech on the net, it will be counter-productive. I very much doubts he understand what the internet is about. |
Aint no Ghost writing. You will be fully credited IF your material is used. I am of the belief that credit should be given where credit is due. ![]() In fact, I like your idea. Yes writers from Nairaland are included. Well done Java. |
RichyBlacK:It is a complex area. Those born after 1982 [in the UK] or so have certain "clause" so to speak. Also those who become naturalised before certain date do have some sort of "clause". I am sure someone who knows better will shed some light. It may be worth mentioning that he would most likely have been granted Legal aid - Free solicitors/lawyers/Experts - to fight his case and trust me, these folks knows how to milk the Legal Aid System for all the pound sterling they can get out of it. But in some cases where there is no hope, they won't bother - I suspect this case may be one of them. |
@Richy. No there are rules here and we are not the US. There is little anyone can do to help him. Even those who have been granted citizenship can have it taken off if needed. A good case will be the Middle east dude who keeps preaching terrorism and Jihad against the UK - even though the bas.tard was on state benefit and do not work. When the authorities had enough, they simply stripped of his citizenship and had him barred from coming in to the UK. In this particular case, the disabled man have shown disregard of the law and I am not sure what his immigration status are. Winning gold medal means nothing to be honest. Even those joining the army from Nigeria are not grated leave to stay here etc. |
alias64:Like Emagwelu who[i] invented [/i]the internet? Or the NIgerian student who received a national award for making cooking oil into bio-diesel? [s]Even though the idea and diy kit is practically available everywhere.[/s] Long live the pederal refurflik of Nigeria. |
otokx:Bingo. That have been demonstrated in this thread alone. It is a shame really. Same old mentality and what not. |
Well, here is an idea I am toying with. How about we release a mix-tape on the back of Nairaland. It will comprise strictly of people from Nairaland i.e people who have made beats and those who have submitted their vocals etc. There won't be any outsider. Say for example, someone like Genuflect, Krayola will qualify, while a few of us who have actually submitted beats will qualify too. I know there will be a few hurdles like communication, differences in idea etc. but that will make it fun and all a part of the learning experience. So who is down? Remember, you only qualify on certain criterias and no outsiders. Ideas and all sort of crazy ideas welcome. PS Please do not post if you have nothing about the actual thread to say. Thank you. |
