Both teams we'd be playing are ranked below us, and then, friendlies don't carry as much points as competitive matches like the UNL. |

Subzero47: Yes they are high profile friendlies against direct competitors, there are more points to be accrued in these friendlies than in the world cup qualifiers Expect us to drop places down when the next ranking list comes out. Especially if those Europeans currently below win a game or 2 in the ongoing UNL. |

Icon4s: Growing up those days, the sitting room was never big enough for us to celebrate a goal. We usually ran out into the passage way and run back in again
Some times we even ran out of the house if it was a BIG GOAL.
How many can relate We lived in a very big house then with about 42 tenants. Whenever we score, you can only imagine how the scenery erupts in mirthful chatters.
We'd run to the balcony, shouting "goal" describing how the player had scored before returning to watch the match.
After the match, you'd see us moving from street to street disturbing the peace of the neighborhood.
Nostalgia!! |

komekn: You perceive the matter as being CONTENTIOUS but why
England and Nigeria are not in contention.
You have completely gone into a path not in discussion.
Let me remind you, core question, why do Nigerian "exceptionally talented youth players" fade away and or don't in commensurate numbers progress to higher levels of the game.
And your response is U17 Nigeria will beat England U17.
I explained my definition of talent and the limitations of so called talent without nurturing and development.
I did not add the issues of age cheating at youth level as a factor. It's not a Nigerian thing.
Many excellent youth players of other nationalities fail to impress at a higher level. |

He now has 5 goals and 2 assists in 7 league games so far. They sit third currently on the table. What's he still doing in thRee in Serbia? He's clearly above that league. |

TheSuperNerd: Lad is still balling in Portugal. For CD Nacional. We will see him in the Portuguese topflight again with his side. They gained promotion at the end of last season.
I recall he also featured in that friendly game vs Atletico Madrid alongside Nwakali and others. He messed up so bad in the Athletico game that he was rightly yanked off during the first half, since then, not much has been heard of him. |

komekn: You use the description " hype " can you expand.
Because thats the first problem.
You cannot describe they hype given to KC, Osimhen and Nwakali to any kind of description placed on Tega Onomah.
His team got flogged today by a much better resurgent Arsenal under Mikel Arteta.
I thought his team including himself gave a very good account of themselves in the first half in their first game back in the EPL.
Second half they lost it but they never resorted to do or die, kick and rush tactics. They played with their limitations. They lack good quality proven forward players to bring the game to Arsenal.
I am looking forward to their next games.
Meanwhile l am excited about Southampton again Crystal Palace two teams that are more or less on the same level.
And yes my eyes will be on Eberechi to see how he makes the step up today.
I am expecting a goal from him he will have room to express himself today. Hype, in the sense that he'd walk easily into our team, because he's levels above all of the players we have in our midfield. But, his showing at Villa and recently Fulham in the Championship for me wondering if it's same Onomah or another one.
When on the back-foot, onomah was expected to come deep into the midfield To Help the defense, he didn't, he was busy romancing the Arsenal CBs.
Fulham's Positional play was disappointing, they were set up in a way that allowed arsenal multiple passing channels to punish them. Going forward, I predict that Onomah would see less game time. The quality of Anguissa and Seri would make sure of that. |

komekn: Wow !!! you are comparing Nwakali to Tega Onomah. That is like darkness to light.
Nwakali will not make the academy team talk less of the first team. A player playing in the best league in the world won't make the Fulham academy? The MVP at the U-17 WC?
You've been smoking your weed with ground pepper, DM me, I know a guy, he deals with the real stuff. |

JayromWrites: Let us tone this Onomah slander down a bit
Most people are using this to attack Komekn and not necessarily Josh
E wasn't in the game.. Had some good touches in the first half but he had a below par performance... But this is the 1st game out of 38 against a well coached Top 6 (ino) side...
Make we temper trolling with mercy
Onomah is just as Nigerian as Nwakali and we should only wish him well You no lie.
Onomah isn't that bad a player, but he's getting this much sticks because of Komekn, that said, Komekn won't take it easy if Nwakali puts up today's performance in the LA Liga. |

forgiveness: Cool down. This is just a match. With all the hypes you have accorded the lad, one would expect that he hits the ground running almost immediately.
Mind you, I saw some of his games in the Championship and he never met up to the valuation you guys put on him.
This wasn't the Onomah I've known from Tottenham and the English U-20s. |
