Politics › Don’t Let Our Son Die, Olisa Metuh’s Family Begs Govt. by emamos(op): 4:40pm On May 26, 2016
The family of the immediate past spokesperson of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, Olisa Metuh, has pleaded with Nigerian authorities not to let its son die without receiving proper medical attention.
Mr. Metuh is currently facing prosecution for allegedly receiving N400 million from the office of the National Security Adviser in 2014.
A Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday refused Mr. Metuh’s request to be allowed to travel abroad for surgery.
Mr. Metuh is currently on admission at the National Hospital Abuja for spinal cord injury.
The family in a statement on Thursday said it had become clear to them that Mr. Metuh was being persecuted because his offer to refund the alleged N400 million was refused, while all other suspects were allowed to make refund.
Find below a statement by the family:
Press Statement
(Being text of press statement by the family of Chief Olisa Metuh)
The entire Metuh family has been following the issues regarding our son, Chief Olisa Metuh and his ordeal since his arrest, detention and arraignment by the EFCC since January this year.
We are aware that the matter regarding our son is subjudice hence we shall only comment on matters that are already in the public domain. For the avoidance of doubt, we want to make the following clarifications.
In December 2015, when the issue of the N400 million came up and our son was invited by the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), he immediately reported at ONSA.
He then made enquires regarding the source of the money with a clear statement to ONSA that if the source of the money is from government coffers, he was willing to refund accordingly not minding that the money has been expended as directed by the former President. At that time, ONSA did not make the necessary clarifications.
Upon his arrest on the 5th of January 2016, the EFCC went to town mentioning several figures that were not the exact amount of money transferred to our son’s account. They alleged that N1.4 billion arms deal money was traced to his account and that he has been receiving N4 million monthly from ONSA. They kept him in detention for a period of 9 days after which he was transferred to Kuje prison where he spent another 13 days.
Nigerians are aware that of all the people who have been facing the predicament of having worked for either the PDP or the previous Federal Government, our son has been the only one that was brought to court in handcuffs, paraded as a common criminal and treated without any dignity whatsoever. Eventually our son was granted bail under one of the most stringent conditions ever in the history of our country. Fortunately, we were able to meet the bail conditions and our son has been facing trial since then. He has been cooperating with the judiciary and done all required of him in the course of the trial.
May we also point out that since his arrest and even up to about a week ago, our son has made several overtures to the arresting authority for him to refund the money since they now claim in court that it came from government coffers. All efforts have been unsuccessful.
It is instructive that out of over 300 names listed as having received money from the ONSA, all those who offered to refund money were not arraigned in court. Our son is the only one whose offer to refund money was rejected and has been arraigned in court and his case given accelerated hearing. On each trial date the hostility in the courtroom is palpable.

Politics › Past Mistakes Haunting PDP – Okupe by emamos(op): 12:40pm On May 24, 2016
Erstwhile Special Adviser on Public Affairs to former President, Goodluck Jonathan, Dr. Doyin Okupe, says the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, is today facing challenges created from its past mistakes.
Okupe noted that the current crises rocking the party were due to the party’s failure to prepare for life after power.
The former Special Adviser who was a guest on Channels Television breakfast programme yesterday said the lack of cohesiveness on the part of the party’s leaders and its followers had further deepened the crisis.
He said, “The crisis you are seeing today came into play because there was lack of cohesiveness on the part of the leadership and follower-ship and that is why the centre cannot hold and the party is paying seriously for that.
“What you are seeing now are flurry signs and symptoms of failure of leadership. Before we left government or shortly after we left government, people ought to have come together knowing that we were likely going to suffer what is called electoral defeat syndrome, which has become exaggerated in our present circumstances is responsible for this.
“We love our party and we do not want PDP to scatter, even though we lost an election to All Progressives Congress, APC, it was evident that APC will not get its act together and if they do not get their acts together, a third force will emerge and that is the dream of many Nigerians.
“The truth of the matter is that what PDP is suffering today is from the collective actions that we have taken in the past. From our failure to obey our own rules to entrenching impunity as a standard practice in our party; for allowing people to use money to buy offices, to buy candidacy, These are consequences of those actions.”

Christianity Etc › Joshua Iginla Celebrates His Birthday, Gives Out 16 Suvs, 16 Cars & Millions by emamos(op): 6:11am On May 23, 2016
The Senior Pastor of Champions Royal Assembly, Kubwa, Abuja, Joshua Iginla on Sunday, gave out 32 cars out of which were 16 SUVs to celebrate his birthday.

Iginla also gave out money running into several millions of naira to the aged, widows, orphanages and scholarships to orphans from nursery school to university.

Six Nollywood actors and actresses got Hummer jeep 3 series, Mercedes G-Wagon and Mercedes CLS 550. They include Jide Kosoko, Francis Duru, Alex Usifo, Ngozi Osondu, Thelma Nwosu and Sunday Omobolanle, popularly known as Babaluwe.
Artisans got generators and cash gifts while the widows got deep freezers, rice and cash gifts ranging from N150,000 to N1.5 million.
Treasure Orphanage Foundation, Nyanya, Divine Wound Orphanage, Kubwa and Christ Home Foundation, Kuje, got N1.5 million each and rice while some orphans in the homes were awarded scholarships from nursery to university.
Iginla said he had 782 widows and orphans he caters for.

“It doesn’t matter to me if I trek home as I have given even the car that I personally drive.
“I can only drive one car and live in one house at a time. This understanding is what has taught me that when I die, others will inherit my assets.
“The beauty of life is not in its duration but in its donation. I have not seen some of the beneficiaries before in my life or spoken to them.

“I’m seeing many of them for the first time today. I am seeing Jide Kosoko for the first time”, he said.
Iginla also said he gave cars to the Nollywood actors because many of them were poor but people erroneously think they were rich.

According to him, the fruit of the Nollywood artistes were being reaped by pirates and challenged government to do something to arrest it.

“The Nollywood actors and actresses are our ambassadors; they have projected the image of this country positively”, he said.
Kosoko, who confirmed he was meeting Iginla for the first time, commended him for his philanthropy.
Iginla had, in 2015, given 18 cars and millions of naira as birthday gifts to people to celebrate his birthday. (NAN)

Politics › Biya’s Car Breaks Down At Cameroon National Day Parade by emamos(op): 8:12am On May 22, 2016
A celebratory parade to mark Cameroon’s 44th National Day quickly turned into an embarrassing situation for President Paul Biya on Friday when his official car broke down.
Following a rendition of the national anthem, 83-year-old Biya, who was said to have made a grand entrance onto the ceremonial ground guarded by numerous fierce-looking presidential guards, was about to embark on a motorised review the troops when the incident occurred.
The open-top luxury vehicle, which only minutes earlier had reportedly conveyed the president to the venue, refused to move.
All efforts to restart the car were said to have failed. Amid the embarrassment, the president was then forced to alight to board another limousine.
A 10-second YouTube video and several photographs online, shot by spectators at the event in Yaoundé, the nation’s capital, showed several security operatives sprinting to the black vintage car, which bore the Cameroonian flags, before pushing the car off the parade ground.
Our correspondent observed spectators looking on amusedly as the voice of a military operative continued calling out orders to members of the armed forces who were on parade.
The Cameroon Journalreports that the incident was the second National Day embarrassment Biya had suffered.
According to the online medium, during a state banquet at the Unity Palace on May 20, 1994, while descending the steps leading to the main banquet hall, Biya’s wife, Chantal, in company with the president, missed her steps and crumbled before the attendees and live cameras.
Chantal was making her first public appearance after becoming the First Lady the previous month.

Politics › Tam David-west Blast Buhari Over Subsidy Removal, Calls It Nonsense by emamos(op): 7:48am On May 22, 2016
Former Minister of Petroleum and Energy, Prof. Tam David-West, has
blasted the Federal Government for increasing the price of Premium Motor
Spirit (PMS) from N86.50kobo per litre to N145, saying it is
unjustifiable. It is nonsense.
In an interview in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on Friday, he insisted
that petrol can be sold at N40 per litre in Nigeria.
David-West, who was widely quoted in the media that petrol could be sold
for N40 per litre under President Muhammadu Buhari prior to the 2015
general elections, raised the alarm that hidden charges made the pump
price of petrol to skyrocket, urging the government to assume
responsibility for the charges.
He identified Petroleum Equalisation Fund (PEF), demurrage, charges by
Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), jetty and depot charges, retailer’s margin
on petroleum, transporter’s margin on petroleum, dealer’s margin on
petroleum, smuggling across borders, storage and so on as some of the
additional charges put on the price of PMS.
“When I heard the Minister of State for Petroleum (Ibe Kachikwu), saying
they smuggled our petrol across borders and that was the reason for the
increase, it is nonsense. I used the word nonsense because during my
time, we closed the borders. If I could do it, he could do it too; and it
is the same head of state (Buhari).
“We ensured there was no petrol station several kilometres to the
borders. Government would not approve fuel station that is close to the
borders. Another illogicality of that argument is if you sell petrol in
Nigeria for N150 per litre, the people across the borders are ready to pay
N160; if you sell for N200, they are ready to pay N210. So, there will
still be smuggling. So, increasing petrol price in Nigeria does not stop
smuggling,” he said.
David-West, said the reasons which the government gave for “the fuel
price increase is confusing. A government official said it is subsidy
removal, which is not. Another one says smuggling, which is untenable.
Foreign exchange (Forex) was also mentioned, which is partially tenable
because the country’s foreign exchange has gone down drastically. So, it
is so difficult now to source forex to import fuel.
“If I am into managing of oil and foreign exchange goes down, why should a
man on the street pay for it? No matter the reason, N145 per litre is not
justified. If they removed all the unnecessary additions on the price of
petroleum such as bridging or Petroleum Equalisation Fund, dealer’s
margin, transporter’s margin, retailer’s margin, storage, depot margin,
and NPA charges, petrol price will come down to N40 per litre.”
David-West stated further that the National Chairman of All Progressives
Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie- Oyegun and Minister of State for
Petroleum, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, said the hike in fuel price was necessitated
by subsidy removal, but the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, said it
was because of foreign exchange.
“What they are doing is embarrassing to him. Buhari has said it
repeatedly that there is no subsidy. I stand by him that there is no
subsidy as such. If you say you have come to remove subsidy, will you
remove what does not exist?
“Kachikwu, I don’t know him and I have never met him before; he is
brilliant from his CV (Curriculum Vitae). I respect him for his CV. He
has got a very beautiful CV. But sometimes, he says things that are, to
me, outrageous.
“A business man runs a business to make profit. Government should
encourage businessmen to be in business by allowing them not to run at a
loss. Government also has a responsibility to make sure that businessmen
do not exploit the people.

Food › 5 Nigerian Stews, Sauces You Can Make Without Tomatoes by emamos(op): 4:08pm On May 21, 2016
Tomatoes is a favourite staple in Nigeria, and so, a large number of people who cannot cope with the inflation in its price are hesitant to make the widely enjoyed stew and are now seeking alternative ways to make sauces with which to complement their daily meals.
In a bid to find a solution, we have put together a list of 5 economical, local stews and sauces that can be made without tomatoes.

Garden egg sauce
A very popular delicacy in the southern parts of the country, Garden egg sauce can substitute for the tomato stew any day. The basic ingredients needed include: Garden eggs (either purple “aubergine”, white or green), palm oil, smoked fish, ground pepper (either chili or scotch bonnet), iru (rinsed), onion, crayfish and salt to taste. It can be used to eat rice, yam or plantain.
Banga stew
Popularly referred to as Ofe Akwu, banga stew is a palm nut stew native to the Igbo tribe of Nigeria. While making this stew can take a lot of time as you have to extract the palm oil juice from the palm nuts, it is usually worth the stress in the end as the taste is absolutely yummy. The only ingredients you need include: palm fruits or palm fruit concentrate, beef, dry fish, vegetable (scent leaves for ofe akwu or dried and crushed bitter leaves for Delta-style banga soup), onions, crayfish, stock cubes, iru, salt and chilli pepper (to taste)
Ofada stew
Also called “Ayamase”, Ofada stew that is usually made to go with a special kind of local rice referred to as Ofada rice. The sauce can however be used to eat normal white rice, yam, plantain and even spaghetti. The sauce is pretty easy to make and the only ingredients you need include: unripe habanero peppers, green tatashe or green bell peppers, locust bean seasoning (iru, ogiri okpei or dawadawa), red palm oil, onion, crayfish, assorted meat and fish.
Miyan Kuka
A delicacy from the northern part of the country, Miyan Kuka is also known as the Boabab leaf stew. It is a favorite of the Hausa tribe and is usually served with white rice. The key ingredients for preparing this stew include : beef, onion, dried fish, hot peppers (washed, soaked and flaked), kuka [baobab] leaves (pounded to paste), dawadawa(fermented dried seeds of the African locust bean pressed into a ball or a cake), yaji(suya seasoning), a pinch of potash, palm oil, seasoning cubes and of course, salt to taste.
Pumpkin leaf sauce
Pumpkin leaf, otherwise known as Ugu, is one of most widely used vegetables in Nigeria. Pumpkin leaf sauce which is not only very tasty but also very healthy is basically a sautee of fluted pumpkin leaf and onions. It certainly does not taste a long time to cook. The ingredients needed include: chopped pumpkin leaves, seasoned beef or chicken, sliced to strips (optional), meat stock, vegetable oil, chilli pepper, onion bulb, seasoning and salt to taste.

Crime › Ubong Assam Delivers In Kidnappers’ Den by emamos(op): 3:57pm On May 21, 2016
The wife of the traditional ruler of Esit Eket in Akwa Ibom, Mrs Ubong Assam, was delivered of a baby girl on Friday, May 13, while in custody of her kidnappers.
A family source, who pleaded anonymity, said in Esit Eket, Esit Eket Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom, on Saturday that the monarch’s wife gave birth to the baby in an unknown hideout of her abductors.
The kidnappers abducted the traditional ruler’s wife and her four children in the Akpautong neighbourhood of Esit Eket on April 29.
The source said that the kidnappers quickly released the woman and her four children due to the birth of the baby in their den.
Reacting to the development, the Police Public Relations Officer in Akwa Ibom, ASP Cordelia Nwawe, said that the command expressed appreciation to God for the safe delivery of the monarch’s wife.
She, nonetheless, said that the command had yet to receive any information about the release of the kidnapped woman and her four children.

Politics › Biafra Cannot Be Achieved Through Mere Demonstrations- Chekwas Okorie by emamos(op): 8:54am On May 21, 2016
The renewed clamour for the secession of Biafra from the Nigeria nation agitates the mind of Ndigbo on the rationale behind the strident call. After the Civil War,General Yakubu Gowon(Rtd) had enunciated, as a panacea to remedy the battered infrastructure in the south-east geopolitical zone, three Rs,reconstruction, rehabilitation and reconciliation as veritable, to integrate the people into mainstream governance in the country.
Chief Okorie
But the Igbo have continued to agitate for better government presence, claiming that successive governments had not treated the region fairly culminating in the activities of groups calling for secession although they have been rightly faulted severally.
The Chairman United Progressives Party,UPP, and former Presidential candidate,Chief Chekwas Okorie, told Saturday Vanguard that mere protests and demonstrations embarked upon by MASSOB,IPOB and other affiliate groups for Biafra secession cannot achieve any desired result.
“Mere demonstrations and protests cannot achieve Biafra. I will advise them to use a political option. As a matter of fact,President Muhammad Buhari has tacitly suggested that when he spoke with an international news channel. Buhari said ‘Nigeria is a multi-party democracy. Igbo people should take advantage of that, organize a political party and use it to vote for what they want’. Last February, Republic of Ireland celebrated its 100 years of struggle for self determination to breakaway from United Kingdom. And they are still counting because it is not over yet. In 2014,Scotland also had a referendum. In that referendum, what Britain did was to give some concession to Scotland. The referendum failed to achieve what it was set out to achieve. Today, majority of their people, voted to remain.
“Even if you want to do a referendum in Nigeria,it cannot be possible without the cooperation of the sovereign country covering the area. Merely demonstrating on the streets cannot achieve a separate country. It can’t. It has not achieved it anywhere in the world.
Members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, at St Peter’s Square Rome, during their visit to Pope Francis at theVatican.
“He(Buhari)had almost given them a hint to what they can do. It is like somebody you want to breakaway from advising you on how to go about it. I toe the line of our late great leader,Dim Chukwuemeka Odumuegwu Ojukwu who said,’Biafra of the spirit is indestructible, but Biafra of a geographical area will require a superior Tank,to the Nigerian Tank’.
“That means a superior military force to the Nigerian military force. Which means it has to be war. Ojukwu tried and failed and advised that it should not be tried again. And I agree with that completely because that is the reality of the present day. Look at the Palestinians, they have been fighting for donkey years. But when they used a political bend instead of fighting Isreal, today,Palestinians have attracted the attention of the United Nation.
“That is why I said a lot of diplomatic leg walk and political efforts will be required. Merely raising Biafra flags and blocking the roads, streets will not achieve anything. I know my view may not please the youngsters. Biafra cannot be obtained by a mere broadcast on radio. Things have changed. Part of what agitates the youngsters is the complete absence of federal presence in the region.

Crime › ’serah Luka Not Among 219 Chibok Girls’ by emamos(op): 4:58pm On May 20, 2016
The Chairman of the Chibok Girl’s Parents Association, Mr. Yakubu Nkeki‎, on Friday confirmed that the second Chibok girl rescued by the Nigerian Army is not one of the 219 Chibok girls abducted over two years ago by Boko Haram fighters.
Nkeki, who said they are excited for Serah’s rescue because she like their daughters is a victim of Boko Haram, cautioned the military against rushing into conclusions without‎ first enquiring to be sure of the information they put in public domain.
He said he has all the names, pictures and names of the abducted girls’ parents, insisting that Sarah is not one of them.
NkekI, who spoke with our correspondent on telephone, said the military should have taken Serah to Chibok‎ or contact the Chibok community like the vigilantes did with Amina Ali before making the announcement.
“I have checked my list, I have the list and pictures of all our girls including that of their parents‎ and Serah Luka is not one of them. The military really jumped into conclusion in assuming that she is one of our girls.
“We are happy and excited about Serah’s rescue, including that of the others rescued with her because she is an innocent victim of Boko Haram just like our daughters. But the military need to verify next time just like the vigilantes did with Amina Ali before making the announcement that they have rescued one of our daughters‎,” he said.

Bola Tinubu, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), says he can vouch for President Muhammadu Buhari when it comes to managing Nigeria’s funds.

Speaking at the headquarters of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), on Friday, Tinubu described Buhari as honest and straightforward.

The APC chieftain said that he was at the union’s headquarters to appeal to the NLC to shelve the strike.

An NLC faction led by Ayuba Wabba had declared a nationwide strike and protests on Wednesday‎.

But the action failed to gain much traction.

“I cannot say, I’m a part of the decision that created the situation. I can only say I noticed the communication gap. And I cannot say you are enemies of this government,” he told the executive of the congress‎.

“‎Today, we came here to appeal to you. Go back to history, we worked real hard to bring Nigeria on progressive path. For me a progressive government is all about the welfare of the people.

“Mr president, the former president of NLC, and senators are here to make it clear that you are not an enemy of a government that is progressive.

“We have refineries, but they are not serving our people. Is it benefiting the public? Why should we continue problem after problem, and continue to do the same things over and over again.

“We must try new things. I’m here to appeal to you to understand this government. You brought this government in. If change is our slogan, are we collaborating to make it possible?

“This is by the way, we must introduce history‎… the political history of the country is not being taught in schools anymore.

“In good conscience, many of you who are part of genuine labour struggle know is about progress and not cheap oil.

‎”We are shipping our labour, oil and opportunities abroad, which is not good for the country.

“Buhari is straightforward. We didn’t say we won’t have problems with him, but he has integrity.

“They brought in SURE-P, but the only thing about SURE-P is corruption.‎ It was sure stealing, sure diversion….

“Buhari will listen to us‎, we will work together to make this change possible.

“I can swear that Buhari will not touch a penny for personal gain. He has that character and integrity to steer Nigeria.

“Let us look at a new mechanism of doing things.

“Let us work together for a government that we know is honest. My mission here is for peace, for us to return to the negotiating table.

“Let us build Nigeria, let us make it the centre piece of Africa.

“Let us call off this strike. I c‎ome to beg on behalf of my party.”

Giving his remarks, Wabba thanked the delegation for its visit.

“Visiting us as demonstrated you are concerned about the working class,” he said.

“We have taken note of your plea. And we wi‎ll convey this plea to the various organs of the party.

“I want to assure you that we are open to discussion.‎”

Tinubu was accompanied by Rauf Aregbesola, governor of Osun state and Kabir Marafa, a senator from Zamfara central.

Crime › Avengers Are Criminals Out To Destroy The Region – Ex-militant Leader, Ateke by emamos(op): 6:23pm On May 16, 2016
Former Niger Delta militant leader, Ateke Tom, on Monday described the resurgent militant group, Niger Delta Avengers, NDA, as desperate criminals whose activities will only bring about untold hardship in the region.
The Okirika High Chief, while speaking in Port Harcourt, Rivers State called on youths in the region not to support the group.
The former War Lord expressed his readiness to assist the Federal government to negotiate with the Avengers if the group is ready for peace.
Ateke said, “As one of the peace ambassadors in this region, I want to state it clear that any responsible Niger Delta youths would not support the criminal act being perpetrated by the so-called Niger Delta Avengers. I condemned in totality the activities of this frustrated, faceless and desperate masked group called the Avengers.
“I am also pleading with the ex-war lords not to use the issue of the avengers to hit up the polity by causing trouble in the region, either by name calling or by insulting our elders and chiefs. Bombing and destroying our oil installations and government properties in the region is only exposing children and women to another hardship.
“I want to call on the elders and chiefs in this region to talk to their children; there is no gain in violence and trouble making. We must see ourselves as one and learn how to support the government at the centre whether we are in support of it or not. In my state I have since started sensitization campaign against kidnapping and vandalism.”
He appealed to security agencies to fish out the criminals and prosecute them if they fail to lay down their arms.

Governor Ambode who made the declaration when the management of the company led by the Group Managing Director, Mr. Tunde Folawiyo paid him a courtesy visit at the Lagos House, Ikeja, commended the firm for their doggedness to achieve the feat after 25 years of hard work, saying that by the provision of Section 162 Sub-Section 2 of the Nigeria Constitution, Lagos has become an oil producing State.
He declared, “I want to thank you very much for this and I say it with all conviction because I know that based on section 162 Sub-Section 2 of the Nigeria Constitution, Lagos becomes an oil producing state and by virtue of this, the 13 percent derivation that is due to oil producing states, Lagos will start to partake from it by your very good gesture.
So we officially declare Lagos State as an oil producing state, we also notify the Federal Government by this action that we would be sharing out of the 13 percent derivation. So all we need do is to apply and then we join.”
Governor Ambode also said that the feat has not only placed Lagos in the history books as the first state outside the Niger Delta to become an oil producing State, but has also opened up a new page for revenue generation in the State.
“It also means that by the additional revenue that is coming from this action, we would have more resources to provide infrastructure for Lagosians and this is what we want other investors and businessmen to emulate, so that beyond the issue of profit, you are actually creating impact on people without them necessarily knowing that it is actually coming from a venture like this that you have embarked on,” he said.
He said the resilience of the Tunde Folawiyo Petroleum Company, an indigenous firm has shown the possibilities and opportunities for investors and businessmen willing to commit their resources to boost local production.
“I want to commend what you have done, it’s a sign that you believe so much in Lagos State. I want to congratulate you, I want to showcase you as a very good example of a dogged entrepreneur, as someone who believes in Nigeria because that’s what you epitomize here.

He has been having a running battle with his predecessor who is currently the Minister of Transportation, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi.
Amaechi who was the Director-General of Buhari’s campaign organisation has been accused of diverting the state’s fund when he was the governor to sponsor the APC campaign.
The minister had since denied the allegation, insisting that he is not a corrupt government official.

Crime › Niger Delta Militants Blowing Up Oil Installations Will Regret Their Existence – by emamos(op): 2:04pm On May 14, 2016
President Muhammadu Buhari has reiterated his resolve to deal with those involved in blowing up oil installations in the Niger Delta region.
Assuring that such persons and their sponsors will be punished, Buhari disclosed that he had ordered service chiefs to get the perpetrators.
Buhari, who spoke on the sideline of his London meeting, said: “What I know is that I was elected by the whole country and the least I can do is to keep the country together somehow. I assure you we will develop the capacity to do it.
“If you can recall, I appointed a retired Brigadier General (Boroh). When I give people assignment, I develop terms of reference for them and I allow them to do their work. I understand the problem.
“I spoke with the Chief of Naval Staff and other service chiefs to work with him and help him to make sure that those who are blowing the installations, sabotaging investments in Nigeria, we will deal with them eventually.”
On whether his government has reneged on the amnesty programme, Buhari said: “They are saying that the agreement on amnesty, including payment and training and employment were not being met. These are their allegations.
“So we put this officer who is from there to revisit the agreement and get them and see which part of the agreement the Federal Government needs to fulfill.
