The problem with you is that you don't think deeply

The North and West have the highest number of non indigenes due to lopsided allocation of FG resources during the military era.

So not everyone living in Kano is an indigene of kano
GBAM ............YOU HIT THE NAIL THEY HAVE BEEN HOPING NO ONE WILL NOTICE.
They think the large population of kabo ,sokoto borno,(padded as they are) and even Lagos and the rest of the south west is exclusively indigenous.....the nerve of this people....
Kano has the highest population of non indigenes in the entire north possibly equal,if not more than that of the indigenous population
Kaduna is split in half no need going into long talks
Niger has a third or a fourth of the indigenous population rooting for Gej
Lets not talk about Plateau we know how the roll
Nassarawa is split in half possibly more for Gej
Lets not talk about benue
Taraba is split in half
Kogi is split in half
Most of the other northen states will still give Gej a substantial portion of the vote
Now lets talk about the core APC south west:I am amused when you guys talk about securing the south west vote just so you know,Lagos(yes the Lagos you so rant and masturbate over )will in all probability give Gej two thirds of the vote at worst half.
I do not need to speak for ekiti, even OSUN(prepare to be shocked) or ondo and ogun.
You think even those states have only indigenous population abi(?). WAKE UP this is 2014 Nigeria is a little more integrated than that if anything the civil war they(the south west and the north) fought for worked too well(when the war ended going up north and west was the fastest means of recovery in the post war era hence the massive populations of southerners (south east ,and south south) in places other than their home lands).

1. The Muslim-Muslim Ticket won resoundedly in 1993. What has changed between 1993 and Now? me tell you as at then the hostility was rife as just few years before the poll, IBB had signed Nigeria as islamic Country Member.

2. The crossed defies logic

3. Read my analysis again. The tribalism this time will work against Jonathan. It is like you don't follow trend. Jonathan's popularity is concentrated in SE, Cross River, Akwa Ibom and probably Bayelsa State. He is relatively UNPOPULAR in Rivers State. Should APC Present a Ijaw Guber Candidate and PDP present Wike in Rivers, the animosity against PDP in Rivers By the Riverine will be rife and will translate in the Presidential Poll out of protest vote. While APC may not clear Rivers State, with Amaechi on the team and PDP guber calculation flop, it will be a shared vote.
Lol if you have to ask then you are not ready to honestly analyze TODAYS political trend in Nigeria.
Foreign AffairsRe: In Cape Town, Many Black South Africans Feel Unwelcome by EMANY01(m): 1:33pm On Oct 14, 2014
BluIvy:
Actually this is very true. My family from my mom's side are from Cape Town. It is racist city to the core I so hate going to their restaurant and hangout places it drives absolutely crazy. It is made worse by thes whites using foreigners to do their dirty work and promoting more xenophobia and black on black hate. They employ a mainly Congolese and some Nigerians as bouncers to intimidate and push local blacks away from these posh hangout places. I have a serious and deep love and hate relationship with the mother city.

I once went to Cubana in Greenpoint to fetch a visiting friend from Namibia. He was flastered and these bouncers refused him taking his R5000 whiskey with him when he only drank a quarter of the bottle. Only for one of the bouncers to take the bottle into his own car. I called him out and made him fetch the bottle infront of his white manager. He started threatening me saying he will not allow me access to Cubana again not knowing I was visiting. The last straw was when he boldly said " this is not Kayelitsha, you must go to Kayelitsha" which is a statement he adopted from his white master i believed. I turned around and said " yes my friend, this is lagos, dummbo". Everyone packed up laughing including the manager. I spilled the whisky, as if my friend couldn't leave with it no one will have it. It was his money.

Bback to the topic, anyone who thinks this is a bad reflection on black South Africans is on long thing. The past does not disappear at a flip of a slate it takes time. South African democracy is still in its teen years not fully matured yet. White people will try everything to resist the change but as one can see it is coming like a flood.

Just two decades ago, there were not black millionaires or black diamonds as they called in advertising industry and today tons a many more a creeping up from every where. One cannot expect things to change overnight unless you do a Mugabe which is not in the interest of both white or black South Africans.
People forget that Apartheid was one of the most successful strategies ever designed with the Nazi system coming second. This was evil supported by the world for years which mostly only black South Africans fought directly laying the lives on the line with no arms but stones & petrol bombs.
Lest people forget, if change was that easy we would not have tribal arguments among Nigerians because of wars that happened almost 5 decades ago. Cape Town is only city out many in South Africa that is resistant to change. But change it will by fir by force.

I think the emphasized part of the post above explains the phenomenon.Attitudinal change to issues of race and ethnicity is a slow process,it's not always the case that trying to force change makes things better as that could drive the practitioners to device more subtle but potent attitudes of discrimination.
I believe constant engagement (dialogue) would be more effective.

2. How did America backed out of the confrontation with the soviets in Cuba? The missile was removed and Khrushchev ran away like a chicken and the cretin was forced out of power because he was weak.Castro wanted him to strike first but he chicken out. and what did he get in return? removal of outdated missiles from Turkey that was scheduled to be removed.
Not to mention that the Russians decades afterwards have admitted that their nuclear missiles were in no shape ready for a conflict at the time as reliability was a long standing problem. .

Now lets talk Georgia. This is the point i have been making from the beginning of the thread that nation states are pragmatic and not emotional (apart from maybe Russia?) at all.Russia was a bigger strategic partner and had just helped America with a base in Tajikistan, Germany and France had made promises to Russia that Georgia wont be allowed to join NATO. When they meet in Bucharest, The french refused to adopt MAP(membership action plan to add Ukraine and Georgia to NATO)even after many midnight meetings and the Germans stood firm too. It was clear to the Americans that Russia had leverage with Sarkosy and Merkel. so what is the point of helping tiny Georgia? besides, Bush saved Saakashvili seat at least and signaled the Russians to stop advancing when they got to Gori.

The Victory might have been decisive but it exposed Russia's military a weak and outdated force. (I can go into details if you want me to). so there is nothing to be proud of here. But that has been addressed by Putin and in 2020 they should be strong as ever.

and on China,
That as to do with policy failures on the part of Truman and his rift with Douglas MacArthur. It wasn't because the Chinese were formidable. The only tactic they used were human waves and besides, it was the United nations not really the United states. the Brits has over 13,000 troops there so it was a general failure cheesy
MacArthur saw victory in site having beat the Chinese and their human waves back the Yalu river,he wanted to pursue them and size the north but Truman was insistent on the fact that the "objectives" of the intervention had been met.The curse of the US military is that the civilian authorities have always shackled them .If MacArthur had been allowed to push, we would be talking of a different geography today that is if North Korea survived .
I have never understood how people say the United States military was trashed in Vietnam. That conflict could have been won by the military if the politicians didn't write hobbling ROE's.

3.Yes i agreed that Spain wasn't a superpower. That is the point i was making. In every geopolitical area there can only be one superpower (that's what the word super implies) but when it is surrounded by great powers, the Super power status wont come without a fight. (The reason why i said China has many regional power beside it and she would have to fight to gain a superpower status). Britain fought the French, Germans, and the Spanish among others to attain that status.

4. If the India route is what was important to Britain, why did she declare war on Germany for crossing thru Belgium even thou Germany had sent signals to London to ask for their intentions without getting any straight response? why not attack the Ottomans directly to secure the route then or wait till the war spill over to the Mediterranean? care to explain?

5.U don't want to hear about what Truman (one of the most important figures in the war) had to say in his memoirs? how about what General Maurice Gamelin and Hans Oster (French general and who was in charge when Germany invaded France and German military intelligence officer) had to say about the prelude to war then? i made references to those u kind of ignored them didn't ya?

I do not think US is underestimating Chinese military capability. But it is clear to every military expert or analyst that it is still behind Russia not to talk of America. China wont even dare attack Japan. there is a US-Japan pact. and that will lead to the destruction of China.

I have to keep saying this.

I am not pro any nation.. I am just pro reality

Kwankwaso is the governor of Kano state, not Bayelsa, Rivers or any SE State. Why are you complaining when Kano people are not complaining? You and your likes are promoters of Kwankwaso marginalised Sabon Gari and funny enough you can't even back your claims... Sabon Gari belongs to Kano people, if he marginalises them it is Sabon Gari indigens that should complain and NOT non-Indigens from the SE complaining on their behalf. He is first and foremost loyal to KANO indigens before residents. I live in Lagos, was born and bred here but I always acknowledge that the Government of Lagos is first and foremost responsible to Lagos people before residents. Keep your hate to yourself bro and think of positives, if you must criticise, do it constructively not driven by hate and bigotry
Just so you know even though you are from the South South, having lived in Lagos all your life and make you living here as well as pay taxes to the Lagos state government, the government is just as responsible to you as it is to the so called "Lagos people "
If you have seen my posts you would recall I said time and time again me saying that I was born in Kano and raised in Kano .
I was raised in the Gaiydi-Gaiydi(pronounced Jedi) area until it became clear to my Family during and after the RINEHARD BONKE SECTARIAN VIOLENCE ,in October 1990 that we were living on borrowed time.
We moved to No-mans land, close to Sabon-Gari an enclave of safety for non indigenes (mind you we are not igbos).
In all the years I have spent in kano since that time and all the times I go back to Kano from time to time ,Sabon-Gari is the least if at all affected areas of government presence and development over the years.Every thing that happens there happens as a result of the work of the people who live there :sanitation, water every other thing and this is inspire of the tax revenues from the area and surroundings.
You do not have to believe this but a drive through Sabon-Gari if your car can manage it will tell its own story.
Barcanista,I know you first instinct nowadays is to adjudge every word that comes from anyone nor pro APC rubbish but I will tell you if you are willing to listen why any southerner that has spent time in the North sort of despises the APC.
It is because we see in APC the mindset in Northern Politicians that they still own this country to do as they please I admit these are the same politicians in the PDP onetime or another bit the point is that the PDP has proven (for all it's flaws) a more inclusive party.A friend of mine who is an aspiring politician member of the APC was at an APC event in Abuja and he tells me he got bad vibes from the many Northerners there:the kind you can only get when you are in a lungwu(area) within the inner streets of Kano citi your instincts telling you you could be attacked at any moment because you are an arrne(outsider).
Oh by the way they are citizens of Nigeria resident in kano state and as such they have as much rights as the Man from Ungwauku who has never left his fathers house .It was that principle that the civil war was fought or at least that's what those who fought to keep Nigeria one say.And that's why the revenue is shared across board in Nigeria.

@garnetty, I think the best way to go about salary negotiation is to research how much your prospective employer pays people in the same level of the role you applied for and take it from there. Most times, opting for low salary makes you appear cheap and could cost you the job for employers looking for quality employee.
Problem is.....you ask your friends (if any) who work there or know anything about the remuneration rates but they never tell you and worse give evasive border ranges. The do not want you cluing into how much they earn. You do this with out the benefit of prior info in most cases.

Here's a thread worth bookmarking

Mine was a couple of months after service and that was my second interview. I was so jittery because i was desperate for the job.

The interview panel was made up of a number of my peers and there was a pretty lady in the group. Everything was going well until i was asked how much i would want as my take home pay. i gave the usual "pay me the standard rate" reply. I didn't want to commit to a particular figure because i didn't want to short change myself by mentioning a low figure as there seem more to the company than meet the eye.

The lady now asked if i would accept 15k as salary and i pointed out to her that a 15k salary was a joke in Abj in 2011 and wouldn't even meet my basic needs. she then told me that there are ladies who take home pay was 15k in Abj.

*At this point i should have politely stuck to my gun & kept my mouth shut but the next few minutes was like an out of body experience for me. my brain shut down and my mouth took over, i watched myself from afar blow my chances of getting a job with that firm with the things i said.*

I Agreed with her that some ladies taking home 15k a month but pointed out to her that ladies don't always spend their money & have other ways of getting money. The group became animated and wanted to know how. That's when i finished the job with a list that includes money from admirers, dates and all. I cringed with each word but couldn't stop myself. The look on their faces especially that of the lady's when i was done told me all i needed to know. I knew i wasn't going to be called back ever. There are just somethings you don't say. I guess that daily 5 mins of madness chose that moment to manifest in the worst possible way.

Till date, i still can't explain what happened or what took over me because I'm not usually a chauvinistic Prick. it was all so surreal
My God..... I feel you brother,I have had that sort of experience where my brain went on leave while my mouth ran wild.Almost like watching a video recording of yourself saying things you would never say to save your life.
That part about you cringing " with each word but couldn't stop myself" got me.
Sorry Bro.

Lets say for rational arguments sake, that the AOC really does have 18 million registered party members, conducting a primary election involving ALL of them will quite simply break the party financially and party cohesion as well.
We all know how difficult it is to organize inec elections within a state with voter population of max 2 million and here is APC talking about organizing an election for a voter population of (theoretical) 18 million across Nigeria.
Lets not forget that the clock is already counting down to February the 14th.
If the consequences of failure in this matter weren't so serious,I would be laughing at their foolishness.
