I must confess I'm amazed.Musiwa you are the all time champion of circuitous and incoherent argumentation. Trying to follow your logic has got me really dazed, like someone who got spin ed in a centrifuge. I bow to your superior tactics. |
All that verbal runaround trying to say there should be no subsidy but factoring that the government can't be trusted to use the savings for the good of all. |
To be honest i believe he is right: to an extent .If we are really going to make any headway with the sustainability of all the existing and new power infrastructure coming on stream , adequate pricing is imperative otherwise it would be the story of a man who built a stunning edifice got tenants into the structure on a good Samaritan basis.I tell you there is no faster way to crumple the building and fall into penury. I believe a 400% increase in electricity tariff as he advocates is excessive. |
It's a no brainer.He is right. |
I just wonder if they applied biometric identity management to personnel verification/authentication across the entire civil service and pension personnel.Untempered with we could be looking at savings well north of one trillon naira. I use the qualification untempered with because the faceless people in the upper echelons of the civil service administrative and management cader who for generations have plagued government payrolls with ghostworkers are still there : in charge or with their successors in place they might just introduce 21st century methods to a 20th century racket. |
They've seen nothing yet.If they dont correct themselves they would be in for a world of hurt in the comming years. The only thing that could slow it down may be that they win power after Jonathan. I do not hate the north, i was born and raised in kano spent time (months) repeatedly in kaduna ,jos and a short spell in daura katsina (never did like that fgc) so i can not honestly say i hate all the people iv had to grow with and know over years.I just hate that they have over the period of our nations history let a group of (mis)guided(?) people, kill , maim pillage and destroy and define the identity of the north overtime. |
^^^^^^^^^^ I read the post above wondering at the self-deceit of anti western conspiracy theorists. They twist facts to suit their view of the world and when that is not possible they ignore said facts and make asersions based on thin air. Regardles of what you say though a few things (out of many) will not change because C.T say different. 1)South Sudan for the first time can plot its future and determine how its resource (oil and otherwise) will benefit ITS PEOPLE.They will no longer have to suffer having a government in Karthumn exploit its resources and do nothing for them execpt make war on them.Kind of like the situation in Nigeria right now. 2)The Arab league is doing what it can to call Assad of Syria to order never mind they are mostly unelected but they appear(or pretend ) value the lives(going past 5000 now) being lost as a result of assad's crackdown on the people. In Libya's case when Qaddafi began his onslaught on Benghazi all to time the city was about to fall did you hear a word from the AU ? Now they have the temerity to point weak corrupt coluding croaked fingers at the west. The AU did more to endanger blacks in Libya than Qaddafi who turned black mercenaries lose on his people. They said/did nothing have said/done nothing about that whole episode |
Shooting down a drone (if it was shot down )is nothing special. The americans lost contact with it and they suspect systems failure a statistical certinity with any technology product.Video analysis of the footage released by the iranians indicate almost no damage to drone save for obvious crash damage . For the past 4years the US has steadily increased UAV over flights in/over iran.Shooting one down out of hundreds of overflights made yearly is statistically irrelevant. Ordinarily one would worry that the technology will be copied but with the advanced minaturisation technologies involved in the design of modern day drones it would take a people far greater than the iranians (the japanese/chinese/not so sure about the indians)years to correctly reverse engineer the systems even then the outcome will be a distant inferior. The prevailng opinion is that the unit will be battered to the chinese in return for(fill in the blank). In any case this is not the first time advanced weapons technology of the us will fall into enemy hands its happend many times benefitting the russians(spy plane),chinese(spyplane) pakistan(cruise missiles) ,just like soviet MBtanks and SAM systems fell into South African hands during the war in Angola it happns to all sides in a wide range of senarios .Those are the most prominent but in any case it has not marginaly given them advantage over or against the us or its allies. As to the topic: The us certainly does not "fear" a nuclear iran, but with iran's increased saber rattling towards isreal sometime down the line with increased tensions or even escalated contacts a nuclear iran could in a moment of insanty lob a missile (not nessesarilly nuclear) at isreal. The isrealis have made clear that they regard ANY MISSILE from iran or any arab nation for the matter as a nuclear strike.Their stated policy is that rather than submit quietly to anihilation they will lunch retaliatory strikes (nuclear) on iran and at any and all oil fields/infrastructure including shiping gateways in all the other arab countries.Point being that you may deeply harm us but we will poison/destroy all arab middle east wealth and by extension power and influence for centuries. The senario above or variations of it is what the us /europe is "afraid" of. |
AKANBI EDU has summed up my opinion on this matter i think his analysis is spot on i couldnt have said it better. Someone not in the north is telling the north "its all well and good you want to make life miserable for our government fine but bring that maddness south and we will react in ways you never imagined.it may cost us our current position but it will cost u this country.1966-70 is a long time ago.Things will not play the way they did then." |

^^^^^^^^ Even if asha was a woman only a wasteful war planner in this day and age will seek to discount the imput of women in war planning. While not even mentioning the awesome role of women in the resitance in poland and france or even the uk in world war 2 ,isreali women as soon as the british left in 1947/48 picked up sub machine guns, rifles everything else and side by side with their men gave a good account of themselves in the first arab isreli war. |
Alhaji Harem:na gaisheka .Ba na lokachi a bayar ka pata a wurin. : I greet you.I do not have time for you to waste here. I will not even bother to respond to your asersion if you wish to believe i am from Ojukwus linage be merry and off you go. This is my first and LAST engagement with you. @ Volasunkan Have you actually tried to think it all the way through?Project what would happen if the fools and their backers actually brought their maddness down and then we or should i say the Opc "retaliates" then BH raises things a notch the you act even more , it shouldnt take you mucg to figure out that before long the FG wil be millitrily involved and the the "war " wil be in your place already. |
@ Volasukan All that smoke you wrote up there is just it SMOKE. It is dangerous to believe your hype. With respect to the YORUBAS on this forum, the Yoruba as a people have earned many a peoples admiration with how they have been able to carve out a place for themselves in the nigerian politicoeconomic strata simply by being smart about things however time is coming when the bluff will be called by someone smarter or someone too"stu.pi.d" to know better then all that "PERCEPTION" you painstakinly built is out the window and you have to act eventually otherwise you will be seriously demistified. We east of you are watching with interest waiting to see you actually "ACT". Its hard to believe i mean no offence but i really dont mean offence when i say seeing you act will be a first. Going about killing hausa fulanis who are probably innocent IMO will be pointless ,it puts you at the same sub human level as the BH people especially as we all know the perpetrators and their sponsors are a fraction of the northerners Lagos or the southwest in general how do you propose to filter them out what ever answer you give please do not say some along the lines of making them say a couple of yoruba or is it hausa/fulani words thats so 1966. Thinking about this you have to give it to the igbos at the time. They didnt give into the bloodlust(i know they must have had it impossible not to given the circumstance) looking for any northerner they could find. |
@ Seanet First of all i am not an easterner rather i am from the "delta" so my perspective is wider but thats neither here nor there. Simple question what do you call staking one's ground, drawing a line in the sand and saying"whatever you do elsewhere you will not cross this line to harm my people. You call it leaving/cowardice i call it fighting/making a stand. @ Eko ile, ekt bear others The FEDS react inordinately because they have an ingrained/institutional fear of massob and of recent mend and the like why because they have earned it .They would not want to be caught napping on the othe hand have yet to prove their mettle against federal might. For now they are just irritants.I for one want them to step up.With so many contending forces all bristling with the potential to seriously jeopardise the country ,we are one step closer to exploding or reorganising either is better than where we have been stuck for decades. |
^^^^^^^ There is no greater personal failure than a man who delibratly or otherwise fights a clearly unjust caurse and to find out later in his life he was wrong and ridiculously used and dumped. |
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA I laugh in okitipupa. The awakening is happning in the south west . I actually wouldnt call it that cos they made a conscious choice to side with the enemy so me 40 years ago to side with the enemy.Somebody here on nairaland said that it had to be that way because the south west at the time was awash with federal (read northern)troops.Question though what has changed? Heres a thought :If what happned today had happened in the southwest during those dark months in 1966 and followed up w.ith political tough talk, there would not have been a civil war.For any sane millitary strategist the 'Federal Millitary Government would have quite easily calculated that it could not have fought a war to keep Nigeria one on 2 fronts, the Aburi agreements would have held and we would not be facing the madness of the decendants of those demons of 4 decades ago. No sence looking to the past unless to guide the future.Much as i was dissapointed with the crudeness and seeming inadequacies of the messengers vis a vis the millitants east of them, i trust the message was heard loud and clear. |
@ GboyegaD You need explanation? Sorry cant help you there. I can only go so far as to say that those groups i mentioned earilier are just begining to realise who their enemy has always been. |
I'm still anxiously waiting for the day GOWON'S(yes that yakubu) family/village will be hit by the marauding ever blood thirsty folks futher north who were his "allies" in the civil war.Oh man i have never seen any death intentioned or accidental as good but i cant help this feeling that as the footage narrative pictures of the carnage, mutilations decapitations disembowelments float around in all itr goryness in the news and other media, I WILL NOT FEEL GRIEF NO SIR A HUGE GRIN WILL BREAK OUT ON MY FACE. I'm sure a lot of unmarked graves down south will have their occupants move a little for joy. |
@ GboyegaD It was the responsibility of the "Fedral Government Of Nigeria" in 1966 to provide security for the "citizinry" regardles whatever part of the "Federation " their ancestry was from and regardless where they were located at the time. You need me to remind you how well that responsibity was discharged ? In case you dont know the "FGN" failed epically (if i can use that word) and when the victims of that epic failure decided to take their destinies in their hands, the same "FGN" waged war on them ohh by the way who contributed the most to the FGN war effort? The same plateau ,southern kaduna ,benue and taraba folks who are being decimated ON THEIR HOME SOIL. And people say there is no GOD. |
Sneaky lying two faced pretentious bastard. He is going to get whats comming to him soon enough.Rat assed mof, uker. |
Just saw this thread: Very lucrative.A friend of mine who's had CCIE R&S for a couple of months now had been receiving something ordinary but because he had sometime earlier certified with a major security OEM he just got an offer from them for half a million naira monthly.Security is a big deal especialy now with mobile money and the likes starting next year. |
Blast happend at an" AUTO SPARE PARTS MARKET " a known gathering of mostly southern bussines people as well as their northern partners. Anybody thinking what im thinking? Ordinarily i would say it fits a pattern but for objectivity sake i would have to wait for repeat of similar events withing that geographical boundry :KD (yeah i know it sounds goulish). As far as im conserned though, looking at the BIG PICTURE, the pattern is clear. |
I was happy till i heard the name 'Jerry Gana' is this man a political immortal? |
Thermal plant in kaduna:this people simply will not learn. In anycase they will suffer the result of their folly soon.T he days are comming. |
Love your post bro.I feel your pain. |
^^^^^^^^^ Truer words have never been spoken.i was not there 1966 however i was an infant about the time of the mai tasine riots in 84/84 (kano),a young high school student during the rinehard bonke riots 1990/91(kano) and a colledge student during the sharia riot (kaduna) 2000.In all of these times easterners may have suffred the most but the numbers for the "others" were not far behind yet many of those others have CONSISTENTLY lied and deluded themselves that it was an eastern nigeria problem. They've never gotten to see that it was a general problem. |
