The comment by Gbawe above indicates why electricity a service that follws the application of the fundamental laws nature may never work right in this country.Rules are turned upsidedown people who have zero intelligience are appointed assigned to handle tasks they do not have the mental capasity for.
PoliticsRe: Kaduna Valentine Day's Bomb Blast: Matters Arising by EMANY01(m): 8:08pm On Feb 15, 2012
The detonator was in the crowd and the silly Cop waltzed to his death with his arrogant ,ignorant and misplaced display of bravado.
There was nothing heroic about his death and it pains me to say because a life(any life) is a terrible thing to waste HE DID NOT HAVE TO DIE THAT WAY.
PoliticsRe: Gory! Pictorial Of Officer Killed…as Bomb Explosion Rocks Kaduna by EMANY01(m): 4:09pm On Feb 15, 2012

By being wise not STUPID .I refuse to belive that with all the experience of the last couple of years the Nigeria Police (with all the cooperation we have been getting  from other nations vastly experienced in such issues) does not have the MINIMUM recomended bomb disposal unit ORder of BATtle(ORBAT)  as well as standard PROTOCOL (operational guidelines). He should have stayed clear until he was properly kitted. What he did was the eqvivalent of walking into a known bobbytrapped room seeing a string running to a pump action rifle positioned pointing your way and jerking the string to see what the gun will do or worse yet playing russian roulette with a revolver loaded with at least 3 slugs.
IF that is how to serve the motherland then that motherland does not deserve to exist.
That man was no hero, his death while sad was POINTLESS ,NEEDLESS AND WASTEFULL. There is a TIME and CIRCUMSTANCE to die for ones country, this is not by a long shot ANY of Either.
PoliticsRe: Kaduna Valentine Day's Bomb Blast: Matters Arising by EMANY01(m): 3:19pm On Feb 15, 2012
How on GOD's green earth can one work in an antibomb squad and not know the first thing about  "Bomb Disposal".
Never handle suspected explosive material without required gear:drone and or specialised body amour.
This mans NEEDLESS death tells us a chilling story about the training and equipping  of the men/women who are supposed to protect us: grossly abysimal.
Things he could have learnt basics from u-tube and a number of reasonable movies.IF he was taught those fundamentals and he
broke protocol then his blood is on his head.If the equipment/gear was enroute and he did not deem it fit to wait trusting in somegood luck or some odieshi talisman  what can we say?
May his sole rest in peace.

PoliticsRe: Proposal For A Country Out Of Eastern Nigeria. by EMANY01(m): 7:47am On Jan 26, 2012
Folks lets try to stay on topic no need to start a tribal slugfest /pissing contest.
@ Topic
First among many other things, loose the name Biafra if you hope to get others to rationally consider a new nation with you. Loose the state and presidencial systems and go with broadned proviencial system.
Not being igbo myself i do recognise the advantages of having a wider territory than just what the south south as a nation would field.
PoliticsRe: First Lady And Comissioning Of Naval Ship by EMANY01(m): 12:19pm On Jan 24, 2012
People should be carefull to cheak their facts out before they critisise otherwise it exposes them for what they are: people who just hate for reasons other than the rational or  the logical.
It's the fad to hate  anything Gej but while its their right to do so  never let the hate consume you so much that when he does things right you wouldn't see it.
PoliticsRe: First Lady And Comissioning Of Naval Ship by EMANY01(m): 11:03am On Jan 24, 2012
You people love to hate. Please go search archives  for news footage of major naval war ship commisioning in the us, parts of europe and even russia ,you would find one common theme the wives of Top politicians or the chief of naval staff are usually on hand to break the vessle into service. This is the symbolic breaking of a bottle of wine on the hull of the ship(the bow).
This has always been a peace time naval tradition(as far as i know anyone is free to bring evidience to the contrary and i will recant) in mordern navies.
Seeing as this vessel was givin to us by the United States they (the nigerian navy) would be remiss to not observe a few of their naval traditions at the formal commisioning of the war ship in a ceremony where representatives of the US Navy would be present.
PoliticsRe: War Drums •northerners Flee by EMANY01(m): 6:12am On Jan 08, 2012
@ T8SKY
Don't spilt hairs over this matter, the treath/marching order that BH issued was to all southerners no exceptions.
As i pointed out in an earlier thread,  the core northern ethnic/religious extremistswhich include BOKO HARAM are equal opportunity killers they make no discriminations with their victims you just have to be  a southerner not yoruba not igbo not itsekiri or efic or whatever they will punch your ticket when  their period(to kill) starts if you are found hanging around.
I know that a good number of those killed in the Apostolic Church attack were yorubas which is why i consider the statement by OPC (an act of self denial) just as clownish as that of OHANEZE telling their people to stay back.
How many people have the means to defend themselves from gunmen? How many have the skill to use those means?
Folks these people are in denial.
PoliticsRe: Boko Haram KILL 6 more on Sunday , Very very sad, over 60 killed since last week by EMANY01(m): 8:04am On Jan 07, 2012
@Negro_Notins
If i remember correctly, the massob guy told them to stay there and fight to defend themselves while that is not easy with out having weapons(legally) with which to achive that ,i think the logic of that statement is correct in as much as they are still nigerians.
On the flip side if you do not have the capability or skill to defend your self, no shame come home.
PoliticsRe: Boko Haram KILL 6 more on Sunday , Very very sad, over 60 killed since last week by EMANY01(m): 1:44am On Jan 07, 2012
@ TPIAH
nye miri is not a kanuri or hausa word.
The nature of the adaptation of the word is pretty much like how almost everyone down south refare to  northerners but more specifically hausa/fulani as "aboki"  meaning friend in hausa although we all can agree that for the most part when a southerner utters the word "aboki" , friendship is the last thing on his/her mind.
PoliticsRe: Plan To "balkanize" Nigeria by EMANY01(m): 1:28am On Jan 07, 2012

If you claim that because of this position i am not a nigerian thats ok if it helps you sleep better tonite.
PoliticsRe: Boko Haram KILL 6 more on Sunday , Very very sad, over 60 killed since last week by EMANY01(m): 1:18am On Jan 07, 2012
@ CRAYOLA 1
Iyamiri is a hausa word/discription  derived from the word "yem nmiri" igbo for "give me water" used to describe igbos and the others east and south of the niger though it could also include edos, binis and others for the most part in strict representation it refares more to the igbos.
PoliticsRe: Boko Haram KILL 6 more on Sunday , Very very sad, over 60 killed since last week by EMANY01(m): 12:55am On Jan 07, 2012
At all those who say events are being orchestrated from outside the country i would have believed you if i as an infant  and my mother did not have to wrap her self in a hijab she stole from a wash dry line in maiyanka market area of kano(she went to buy meat) when these same hausa/fulanis were running rampage mudering every thing/one that did not look hausa or worse could not speak hausa.
If i did not for the first time in my life (on my first day of secondary school)see decapitated ,burnt, disemboweled, mutilated, bloody and mangled remains of human beings(dozens of them at the gyadi-gyadi roundabout area) the end result of protests in kano by hausa/fulani muslims aginst Rinehard Bonkes crusade in kaduna and the anticipated one in kano
History documents the fact that this pattern of killing those that dont worship their god and dont look like them formaly entered the records in the 1940s so if someone external is copycatting them(if i may use that phrase) and blaming them for it , it can be helped because they have over the past 70+years been consistent with this behaviour.
For those who try to put themselves as not affected you must know (or you are lying to yourselves) the hausa/fulanis are equal opportunity killers.
Anyone who has spent the least bit of time in the core north and survived the ordeal will tell you that even if  you were a yoruba or edo muslim you stand 50% chance as much as the igbo, bini, edo, urohbo ,ijaw calabar crossriver and ikwere man(generaly called iyamiri by the hausa/fulani muslims) as well as the yoruba man of getting killed.
PoliticsRe: GEJ's State Of Emergency & Fuel Subsidy Removal Affects Cameroun Prices by EMANY01(m): 7:06pm On Jan 05, 2012
^^^^^
As someone said earlier imagine beaf and gbawe in the same room!!! I shudder when i form a mental image of how bloody it will be.
On the other hand nobody is talking about the state governors.I do remember that they were the first to insist on the removal of  the subsidy when the salary increase law was signed by GEJ and the pushed the policy as precondition for them to pay the new minimum  wage. Why is the hate pilled on the FG AND GEJ?
PoliticsRe: New York Times:in Nigeria, Boko Haram Is Not The Problem by EMANY01(m): 9:59am On Jan 04, 2012
Delusional carry on with your story want to hear the end of it  since you are the fly on the wall who sees and hears all.
One thing you forget  the senarios you just outlined all end up with variants of one central theme the dissolution of nigeria:with what i have seen and experienced, that will not be such a bad thing .

Ok so if GEJ resignes you all including Boko Haram will all be happy abi?
Not making threats here but if that happens this countrys economy will be so grounded.
Not a drop of crude nor a cubic meter of gas will get to any refinary or to any pipeline to any power station or ship.
Painfull though that may be, people dying will not be part of it.

PoliticsRe: How The North Tricked Middle Belt To Fight Igbo by EMANY01(m): 12:23am On Dec 25, 2011
I cant say im igbo but iv never understood the willfull ignorance(i would say non challance) that some sections of the country display when igbos are emotionally stired up with rage when ever  the subject of the dead during and BEFORE the civil war is raised.
PoliticsRe: How The North Tricked Middle Belt To Fight Igbo by EMANY01(m): 12:03am On Dec 25, 2011
@ Ezuche
This thing you just said now I'm looking at my watch counting down to when one southwestern  individual will ddescendon this thread with tales of the exploit of one black scorpion why? I hhaven'treally figured him out but your mention of the y-word is a part trigger.

Would hate to see what could have been a meaningfull discussion turn into and ethnic slugfest.

I'm really curious to see how long & what it takes for them to"RECOVER". Every business continuity systems specialist (self included) and sales person is going to be watching closely. For the former :lessons learnt, for the later :sales pointer for why you should buy our service.
BusinessRe: Fire Incident Halts GTBank's ATM & E-Services by EMANY01(m): 7:47pm On Dec 24, 2011
In the cause of my job, iv been in and around the core IT infrastructure of a lot of banks and i can say GTs packs a punch but giving that they were yet to follow the CBNs directive that all banks build or begin/complete (iv never been able to interprete  it correctly) their DRC s by 2009 i/we knew that single point of failure was going to bite them sooner or later.
If they had done that as they claimed the systems outage would not have been noticable.
BusinessRe: Fire Incident Halts GTBank's ATM & E-Services by EMANY01(m): 7:35pm On Dec 24, 2011
It probably wasn't a fire that razed their whole processing center but developed within their data center environment and if the followed data center standards in the design of the center, the automated fire system would have activated flooding said location with gas(FM-200 or the newer inergen) and per protocol activate emergency power off which would also have been built in and PROPERLY integrated shutting down everything servers switches routers radios cooling systems everything. No problem if this is what happened you can go ahead ahead and fix the cause of the fire and(depending on the intencity of the fire whatever damage it caused) which could take 24hrs to a week given that this is Nigeria.
You only really have a problem if you do not have a disaster recovery center(DRC) a sort of a shadow or mirror data center at another location am guessing GTB didn't have one or if they do "have one" the two centers werent properly synched /configured.
That's my take as a data center design/operations engineer.
