geobukky: Dragnet ..... i wont say its hard, it depends on your point of view and the strength of ur foundation (Mat and English) tho only written twice with KPMG *This one was a rock star i remember the test been for 2.1 and 1st class but still over 90%(80+ ppl) in my hall failed it* and NIS. Tho winning twice might be a fluke but really dragnet is jes stage 1 of most recruitment processes, some have upto 5 levels. ... if u go into dragnet test carrying the orientation that its hard u will surely fail it*Panic attack* ... The key is to go into the exam hall like a boss and ensure you hav a good morale...
...the test can be tougher in some cases, it depends on the firm that is recruiting but then their questions has pattern, practice will always improve speed and accuracy... ...in other news i never use any of the test to get job, any HR in the house? one boy dy here wey dy find work ooo , the hustle continues but if you are aiming to work with the big guns ..u shud be chewing dragnet.... MacMaster01...peeps go soon dy ref u for prayer point oo Bros, you haven't written Dragnet GSE test I guess. The KPMG test administered by Dragnet is GMAT and different from their usual Verbal, Numerical and Abstract thingy. Unless, the NIS test was fully administered by Dragnet in their usual Verbal, Numerical and Abstract format, then you are yet to have the real Dragnet experience. |

marqueetim: Never failed any test so far. Started with the legendary dragnet, they are good actually. But ultimately like geobukky said, its more about having a good foundation for your Mathematics & English. Never had to really practise much for any test including SHL. Thanks to quality education as a child at home and private schools. Not to forget as always Baba God Noni. Badt guy! |

geobukky: Good chance , like how many ppl Commonwealth dy give yearly... Jez asking tho... Applied last year couldn't go cos I saw my invite very late CommonWealth Scholarships are of two types: CFSP- CommonWealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan and CSS-CommonWealth Shared Scholarship. The CFSP is administered by Federal Scholarship Board in Nigeria. The FSB acts as the Nominating agency for CFSP. They nominate candidates to CommonWealth for the award. The CFSP is open to all disciplines. The Nigerian factor may come into play here. I guess this was the one you applied for. The CSS is administered by select universities in the UK and they have specific courses that can apply for CSS through the available UK universities. With a good grade(Preferably a First Class) and good Personal Statement, you stand a very good chance to get it as it is purely on merit. Though most people that get CSS are First Class grads. |

Wiztonero: I agree with you, but I wonder how come most of the highest scorers were Engineers. I think they ought to be disqualified because this is not their terrain. They should leave the scholarship for us abeg. Many Electrical Engineers I know are into Networking, some of them are even CCIEs. The standards and protocols used in Networking is set by IEEE, the global regulatory body of Electrical Engineers. Even in our Bachelors program, we did courses on Programming (MATLAB and C) and Networking, so what are you talking about |

HIGHESTPOPORI: Thank God for d win,I would be very happy if Lallana and Ibe stop starting our match, cos we do struggle to create chances, let Firmino and Origi or Danny ings start instead, and Sturridge should do and come back! True talk, I wonder what Lallana is still doing in that team even. He is so lazy and slow. This is where we miss Sterling, Ibe slowed attack so many times in the game. I hope Rodgers gives Origi and Ings a chance to prove themselves. |

Career › Re: Career Dilemma Please Advice A Poor Boy In Need Of Professional Advice by Emasel(m): 5:40pm On Aug 13, 2015 |
henifri: I am currently a final year student in a university studying I.C.T. Lately, I have come to realize this course is not for me(after years of trying to force myself to accept it). Due to my lack of interest in this course, I have become unserious, uncompetitive and somewhat lazy; though i still maintain more than average grades, It takes a lot of will spirit to be able to motivate myself to study and maintain these good grades. I love education, and have always been an excellent student since primary school. 10 years ago I had one of the best potentials among my peers, but right now I don't even want to wake up anymore. I battle with depression everyday. All my dreams, the future I dreamed of, everything seems to be falling apart.
I would like to study Electrical Engineering (Power systems or Control Systems) at MSc level . I am planning on pursuing this degree in universities in America, Canada or Western Europe on a scholarship basis. I am quite scared as my first degree is not in Engineering.
I know there are lots of professionals and graduate students on Nairaland, and I would be extremely grateful if you can share a piece of advice with me. You actually can study MSc Control Systems with your ICT degree, but I doubt if you could do a Masters in Power Systems as they are not related. Modern Control Systems are automated and electronically controlled, so you'll need some programming background(mainly MATLAB) for a Masters in Robotics and Control Systems. Your target schools(USA and Canada) have very high admission requirements. I know US and Canada schools usually demand a minimum of 80% in the last 2 years of your Bachelors degree program, so I'll advise you sit up and put in your best, so you could make the require grades for your intended Masters program. All the best. |
