Now time has come for people to know if they will add or not to add a capital letter "D" at the end any time they spell, pronounce or write "WIKE". |
tonero263:My dear, the number from min of education was not encouraging at all. Howver, let's assume it was a test running of the exercise. Because 350 persons are too small compared with all the staff (level 1 to 13) who are qualified for the loan. |
gold360:Although, the money is not enough. However, I've used mine to bag TRCN, PGDE and M.Ed. Ph.D seriously loading too. Got married with a son. Since the money can't come in a bulk for tangible investment. Hence, preparation for a better job with this salary is a good move. |
Apraise:please give an example. |
Catalyst4eva:My dear, the aforementioned process must surely happen. However, the house of assembly would accelerate the entire process. It would be to fulfil all rightiousness. As for the state legislative enactment process, It Must be followed but all would be hastened up. You can quote me anywhere on that one. |
mela82:Rivers State Government would draft an executive bill on that effect and forward it to the State House of Assembly. Then it would also undergo the normal process of a bill before it can become a law in the state and implemented. Until such happens, your salary remaineth the same. However, it's arreas would be paid anytime RSG starts implementing the 30k minimum wage. The arrears starts from today (18th April, 2019). |
gold360:Rge ones contributed by the prospective pensioner can't be given to him or her untill anytime Rivers state Govt contribute hers on the persons behalf. That is the case of graduity here. |
001bumsa:it can't be possible in Nigeria. |
NonnieMarthins:There might not be Public Holiday since court would give judgement tomorrow at Abuja on Govnor Wike's eligibility to contest due to incosistency on his age declaration affidafit. |
Apraise:All the news papers i read said that APC primaries are null and void. When the primaries are cancilled. what do you think is the implication? Will INEC give APC chance to conduct another primary election? The answer is NO! Therefore, APC will NOT and NEVER participate in genaral elections this 2019 in Rivers state, except presidential election. |
TheWatchDog:Do we have two supreme courts in Nigeria? The supreme court iof Nigeria i know has given its judge today being Friday 8th February 2019. I don't know the judgement u are waiting for again on that issue by monday. Meanwhile, i don't post what am not sure of. |
APC will not field any candidate in 2019 election in Rivers state. Supreme court just upheld the judgement of fed high court disqaulifying all primaries conducted by APC in the state this afternoon. |
oruwised:Hahaha! guy you too harsh o! u sabi the man wela. |
please my honorable colleagues, how much is level 8/3 expected to go home with now the new minimum wage is 27k? I strongly doubt if Govnor Wike can make it 30k for us going by his treatment to workers. Those who know the calculations can help us out. Thanks. |
gold360:The benchmark for the new minimum wage as approved by council of state today is 27k while states which are capable of paying more than that can do so. Whereas FG agreed to pay her workers 30k. However, the 27k benchmark is not applicable to organization with less than 25k staff personnel. |
[quote author=xxkash post=74703762]Guys need info on UBE, I hear they are doing a personnel audit and are openly treating job termination on some of their teachers after going through there credentials. Anyone with any news pls share. My brother to be on the safest side, try and do your PGDE if you have not, so as to not bother yourself whenever you hear this kind of news. I've gotten mine on PGDE, gotten my TRCN cert and about to finish M.ED this year too. Although, I didn't apply to the board for it but am now rest assured that i can't be axed based on education certificate requirements anymore. However, the truth is that nobody is sacking anybody. |
So Wike sworn that as long as he remaineth Rivers State Governor workers will never get Xmas bonus, promotion, yearly increments and their salary arreas. hmm. it now left for us to decide, whether to be like this for d next four years or not by using our PVC wisely because if a governor who is trying to come back for second term can treat workers like this, it then mean that in his second term workers will beg for their monthly salaries. |
The Governor in Abia State only pays core civil servants and LG workers. He gives no damn about parastatals and agencies in the state. He owes Parastatals under Hospital Management Board 9 months and still counting. Abia Poly 7 months currently, ABSUTH 10 months and still counting, secondary school teachers 5 months currently and others. Note. What i gave u is authentic info about the condition of Abia State workers. I have three blood relations working in that God forsaking state. |
patopara:new minimum wage is yet to become law. so how is that possible? |
Truly, it will not be good to Governor Wike's name if he refused to pay workers December salary bfore xmass. Those Governors who paid before xmass are they not human beings? |
Why can't Govnor Wike give workers December bonus even if it is for once? Since workers did not get promotion, yearly increment nor arreas payment in his almost four years administration. Let him try because he may not have the opportunity to do that again due to the possibility of him not being the Govnor by next December. |
Hello Honourable colleagues. Who knows when we are to receive December salary. This year before xmass or next year? Thanks. |
It is obvious that this Wike Administration doesn't have the word 'PROMOTION and YEARLY INCREMENTS in its dictionary. please does that his dictionary have DECEMBER BONUS in it? someone please answer me. |
Minimum Wage : FG sets up 4-man sub-committee vanguardngr.com Sep 19, 2018 6:58 PM ..C’ttee briefs Economic Council next week By Johnbosco Agbakwuru ABUJA – THE Federal Government has set up a sub-committee to look at different scenarios especially on the financial implications of the new minimum wage. The Government Economic Management Team, EMT, comprising the ministers of Finance, Zainab Ahmed, Budget and National Planning, Udoma Udo Udoma, Industry, Trade and Investment, Okechukwu Enelamah, Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige and Minister of State for Petroleum, Ibe Kachukwu had met on Tuesday to review the ongoing negotiation on the new minimum wage. Minimum wage Also present at the meeting that lasted late night were the Executive Chairman, National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Comnission, Richard Egbule, Director General Budget Office, Ben Akabueze, and Comptroller General (CG) of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Hameed Ali. The meeting was presided over by the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo at Vice President’s Conference Hall, Presidential Villa, Abuja. But Vanguard reliably gathered that after deliberations, a sub committee was set up to have a holistic review on the financial implications of the proposed new wage. The sub committee is made up of the Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed, the Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, the Director-General of Budget Office, Ben Akabueze and the Executive Chairman, National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission, Richard Egbule. A source at the meeting said, “We are looking at different scenarios, that is the financial implications,” adding that the sub committee is expected to brief the Economic Management Team on Tuesday next week. On whether the federal government has come up with a proposal, the source said, “We are still looking at the proposal made by the different parties involved. The organised private sector proposed N25, 000 and the NLC committee is insisting on nothing less than N43,000.” It was also gathered that the State governors were yet to make their input and the committee is expected to get the input before presenting its report to the Economic Management Team. The Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige had recently accused the organised labour of blackmailing the government following a two-week ultimatum given by the latter for the conclusion of negotiation on the matter. According to him, the Labour leaders were unnecessarily blackmailing and intimidating government to pass a new minimum wage that it may end up reneging on. Ngige blamed certain factors such as inability of governors to provide their figures to be debated by the committee negotiating the new minimum wage as one of the reasons for the delay, just as he assured that government was still within the timeframe it promised to deliver on a new minimum wage and was not stalling the process as alleged by labour. According to Ngige, the organised private sector had initially proposed a figure of N42,000 but later brought it down to N25,000, taking into account the current economic situation, ability to pay and ability to enhance and create new jobs The organised labour had in May 2016 demanded a pay rise on the current N18,000 national minimum wage to N56, 000 and later raised to N65,500. Buhari had in November 2017 inaugurated the National Minimum Wage Committee with a mandate of arriving at a new national minimum. The federal government had assured workers during the 40th anniversary celebration of the NLC earlier in February that workers should expect a new national minimum wage by September. But the organised labour had recently accused the federal government of not being sincere in coming up with new minimum wage and warned that labour should not be pushed to the wall. The report of the new minimum wage was supposed to be ready by the end of August but the Committee could not round off with its negotiation as a result of the sallah holiday. Apraise:FG is yet to come up with a figure. It was private sector reps proposed 25k. Innitially they agreed on 45k when labour came up with 55k but later review it upward to 65.6k. Then private sector reps came down to 25k. Meanwhile, FG and Governors forum are yet to bring a figure. However, 21 governors have brought in their proposals on individual bases and not as a group. |
Pls house did any one have idea when the latest Rivers state teachers recruitment is closing? |
dmercy141983:My dear all states are constitutionally forbiden to pay lesser than the minimum wage once it's set and passed as a law by the federal govt but are allowed to set their own wage even up to a million naira if they so wishes. Note, states MUST NOT, I repeat, MUST NOT pay below the minimum amount set by the federal Govt but has the freedom to pay above it. Thats why the term MINIMUM WAGE and not MAXIMUM WAGE. |
It's a pity that some people don't know what is called minimum wage. It's simply a bench mark to which no establishment especially public can pay below it but can pay as higher as dey wish based on their income and revenue. Currently Edo state minimum wage stands at 25k which was raised by former Governor Oshiomole. Whereas current National minimum wage is 18k. |
kingsjeroneyah:I guess that should be gross salary and not net salary. However, do u have any idea when it will be implemented? |
I guess we are now experiencing what we are going to see from May next year if not March. We better get ready for it by looking for another source of income. |
