two weeks ago, KELGA council workers were paid three months salary arrears. Yesterday, dey were also paid october salary. Is it a crime to be a teacher under Govnr. Wike's administration?

What is happening is enough to say sorry....real sorry for young teachers who enter the job with passion only to have their passion weakened by the attitude of our government towards teachers. Now according to zebudiah "see what I saw" student say they want to study militanciology....because after that you be government on your own. God dey.

@Darkstan, nobody is saying that the information you gave is false.

The man unquote may not be accurate about everything because from what l was told earlier on, both teachers and pensioners were to be paid two months. If they had paid pensioners first does not mean it is teachers salaries that is being diverted.

I will rather say that, we shouldn't jump into conclusions yet because l don't know who told us that we will be paid this week.....

If we are so lucky, they may pay us next week. But with assurance , payment commences from 7th of November.

I don't post information that I'm not sure of. The same person who told me that our two months arrears was diverted to pay pensioners two months arrears was the same person who told me to relax after we were paid September salary that we will be paid two months arrears. I went to Ministry of Finance last week Wednesday to Ministry of Finance see him personally and he told me to relax and wait for the two months arrears. It is this morning that he told me the true position of things. If u like, believe it or not, my father is the mentor of the person who gives me info and he has never given me false info. We should be thinking of ways to stop NUT from deducting union dues from our salary because it is our union dues that they share every month as rebate. I am speaking from a very informed source. My maternal aunt is the NUT Treasurer in my LGA. A word is enough for the wise. I will stop giving confidential update because many people here are not aluta conscious and that's why we are suffering. We don't need Rivers State NUT Chairman's approval to enforce strike when he has already been compromised.

Pls keep sharing ur info here. I believe u 100percent. Hwever, did ur uncle tell u when next we are likely to receive d salary arreas? The truth is that Govt will pay but we do nt knw when.

According to NUT Ahoada East branch, during their today general meeting, tell their members to be patient and expect two months arrear salary, between today and next tomorrow been Friday, that if the arrear salary as expected does not come, then the strike option will be taking by Monday.

state NUT chairman is notin but a "Tapioka", "Amala and Ewedu". That lilly livered of a human being berated Phalga NUT branch for issueing a strike threat and ordered them to withraw that statement. He also appealed to WIKE to keep up to his promised of clearing d backlog of salaries owed teachers this week. Imagine MKPOGENE, he is now a begger for his constitutional right. NUT Ntoor! This Union is a sham to pressure group.

Teachers are the most neglected group of workers in this present administration, perhaps because they don't have a Union or the Union has no leader(s).

it is regrettable that a former minister of state for Education is d one wanting to keep Rivers State school system in a bad shape!

These figures are actually for the allocation shared in September 2016. The figures for each state shared this month isn't yet released but it will be lower than last month's because the overall allocation fell from N510 to N420 billion

The allocation is always shared d next month. (Eg) d one shared last week 20/10/2016 was dat of september.

Well as for downsizing of teachers on any guise will impact negatively on d already staggering system of education in Rivers state. Year 2015, saw d retirement of 500 teachers. 2016. 600 teachers will also retire, all from PPSB only. 2017 more teachers would still go on retirement. The list was boldly pasted at Senior Secondary schools Board. So, based on d above comment, there is d need for more teachers to be employed instead of sacking d ones who are already on d Job. Thats my own opinion any ways.

The truth is that our months salary arrears have gone for good. The earlier u realize that d better. NUT, NLC, bla bla bla.. Are all nothing but a wild goose chase, pipe dream, pie in d sky as well as tales by moon light. As for me that has gone and life goes on.

Sometime ago somebody said that our money was put in a fixed account by the head of service and the commissioner of finance to last till November ... I'm beginning to think that this information is true !

Sometime am tempted to ask people if we are still in Nigeria! Is as if one travels to another country and have no access to anything. Our leaders don't even know why they are there talk more how to take care of our challenges All their concern now is how to gather wealth for themselves, buy cars, build houses, and finally travel abroad to eat their ill gotten wealth! Am happy for one thing....no man will live forever here and nobody will leave these world with anything...empty you come empty you go!

good day all... reports reaching me and my colleagues (abi na I and my colleagues) suggests that Oyigbo Zonal RSSSSB Staff ONLY have been paid and IN FULL...... NOT Teachers!!! ie those who come for supervision!

don't know if any of you has similar story from your LGA.

May be he has gradually started accepting that Govt still owe most teachers. I see, this drama is really an interesting one!

Pls someone who has connection should inquire d reasons for this one month pay only without arrears, So as to let us knw our fate concerning our arrears.

i knew that this new ID card must first be issued to OBIO AKPO and PHALGA, next thing we shall hear on d news is that all d Teachers in all LGAs hv gotten theirs and if otherwise then ur a ghost worker. Hmmmm, OBIO AKPO and PHALGA teachers are nw d only teachers in d 23 LGAs of Rivers State. This kind of preferential treatment to the above mentioned LGAs is too glaring and diaphanous. Oga Governor, I dey hail oooo! I hope ur Govt has nt been admitted into the same University where Mr. LAI MOHAMMED and President BUHARI graduated from.

Hmmm, it is nw too glaring d reasons why most people do nt wan't to be a Primary/secondary school teacher. I like teaching but God FORBID that i should end dis career in primary/secondary school, NEVER! However, Lecturing in Higher institutions are where d flavour of teaching job can be found and i would do all it requires to see myself there because with what am seeing it is axiomatic that Primary/secondary schools teaching jobs are meant for women. Imagine five months without pay and no one is coughing even our Almighty NUT has turned into a paper tiger. Can this Govt dare Lecturers with this kind of expensive joke?

Hmmm. What can i say? Well, am Keeping all fingers crossed. Hwever, this ur comment sounds like a statement made by my very good friend, Mr. Lai Mohammed of APC.

Now that it's obvious that our salary arrears were fixed deposited by d so called "Bad Eggs" the questions that are begging for answers nw which i urge those who knows somebody that knows somebody to help us find d answers to are (1) For how many Months did dey fix d money? (2) when would d fixed deposited money (expire) mature ? I asked because with d look of things our salary arrears can only be paid at d expiration of its fixed deposition to the Bank.
