The state was named after God, building a church for God isn't a bad idea
|
All is now set for the commencement of the long anticipated central worship center for the Akwa Ibom people in Uyo, the state capital. The foundation laying ceremony of the 8,500 capacity international worship centre which holds Sunday, January 21, 2018, will be conducted by Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God. It is the first of its kind of a standard worship centre for Akwa Ibom State, the only state in the world named after God, 30 years after its creation. The state has over this period moved from playgrounds to stadia and even uncompleted buildings in search of a conducive non-denominational place to worship, pray and sing praises to God. To punctuate this trend, the Governor, who is also the Spiritual Leader of the state, Mr Udom Emmanuel pulled all stops and went in search of funds to bring to fruition, the dream of erecting for God, a befitting place of worship. Giving an insight on funding for the edifice, Mr Emmanuel explained that "We have found favour in the eyes of the Lord, and it’s instructive to note that Religious bodies, non-profit organizations and even individuals from all over the world heeded our call for support to actualize this dream”. According to the Governor, “today we stand tall to say that we have secured the bulk of funds needed for the construction of the 8,500 capacity international worship centre which is located in Uyo. Government’s contribution is a very negligible percentage.” Governor Emmanuel also added that when the dream of the international worship centre was conceived, he rose to the faith that God will provide the finances drawing strength from Haggai 1:8 –“Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith the LORD”. He said Akwa Ibom State is a Christian State that will continue to look up to God for his guidance and blessings. #akwaibomstate #udomemmanuel #amazinggrace #gratefulheart #givethanks @Akwa Ibom Www.akwaibomdaily..com Source AKWA IBOM GOVERNMENT SET TO BUILD 8,500 CAPACITY WORSHIP CENTER [Pics] >> http://akwaibomdaily..com.ng/2018/01/akwa-ibom-set-to-build-8500-capacity.html

Reverend Father Patrick Henry Edet who doubles as a gospel singer, has resigned as a catholic priest. He made this statement on Planet 101.1FM, Uyo earlier today “From today henceforth, i cease to be a Catholic Priest, in my spirit and in my soul. I forgive those who will criticize me, I live for God. I seek freedom for my soul. As I leave, I leave smiling I AM SO HAPPY THAT I AM FREE, YOU CAN STILL CALL ME FATHER BUT AM NO LONGER A CATHOLIC PRIEST He said Source; AkwaIbomdaily..com

#OpenLetter To Governor Udom ; ~ Dear Governor Udom Emmanuel, We commend your developmetal strides, you have done well by putting smiles on the faces of many Akwa Ibom people despite the present economic recession experience in Nigeria. We love you our governor, but we do not support this Lagos project, it is unwise, fraudulent and wasteful. Should the state spend N9b to build a lodge for you sir, while our roads and schools are falling apart, Jobless graduates wasting at home, debts being owed, uncompeted projects floating all over the state since ground breaking? If you may know sir, most of the grounds you broke last year has been taken over by thick bushes, i bet if you pass through any of those directions you spent money to break the ground, you won't remember that you did something there without someone showing you. What is the economic and social value of a governor's lodge in lagos? Is it that you will now be operating from Lagos state instead of Uyo? Think again sir, this very move may mar your 2019 ambition, Akwa Ibomites are wiser now. If only your advisers would leave praise singing an advice you courageously, your tenure will accomplish all the set goals. If you choose to go ahead with this wasteful project that will never add value to the lives of the people you govern, i suggest that nobody should campaign for MOBIL to relocate fully to Akwa Ibom State, rather let them set up an office in the state. The last time we checked, Lagos was no longer the capital of Nigeria, Governor Ambode can not come to Akwa Ibom to build Lagos state governor's lodge. Thank you #AkwaIbomDaily2017

By: Kufre Nicholas Feminists have done a great job by agitating for equality for the men and women. But agitating for equality is simply saying, "yes, women are weak so pity us. Yes women are not good enough but just consider us please just let us lead because you've not let us in a long time, please help us we are just women". Well done, equality fighters. For me, this tells a very wrong story of the woman. On one of the consultations in a certain faculty while contesting as president, I dropped a bottle of drink and 2 thousand naira. The stakeholders fell the drink and decided the money was not enough. In the midst of the negotiations, a beautiful lady who was also a stakeholder, walked up and supported me with a thousand naira and even dropped her ATM card in case the money was not enough. The boys started to cheer her and laugh then she said "You are a woman, you need to do things well. Show your capacity as a woman, and always be prepared". Now, that's what I'm talking about. As a woman, things won't come to you easily, in fact, where men did 100% and relaxed, you should double it. No opportunity will drop at your feet because you are a woman. You show so much weakness and defeat when you beg for 30% when the world is large enough to carry 100/100 for men and women. It is all in your head. Stand up to yourself and stop seeking pity. I competed favorably with men not by begging them to please give me a chance but by letting them know that the eagle has arrived and they were on their toes. Men are really scared of your power. And men will respect you when you show that powerful side. They will use you when all they see is weakness, frailty and beggarly frustrated shouting for equality without capacity persons. Stop feeding their ego by playing small. Get up and take your chance, the chance is there already. If you want equality with the men, then you have to do what men do. If men stay out till midnight, you have to do same, if men stay on their feet for days, you have to do same, if men barely have time for ornaments, you have to do same, if men study all night, you have to do same, if men work hard everyday, you have to do same... And even more! Be strong, Woman... I am Kufre Nicholas Udonkang. I am a woman. I represent strength. I am your intellectual inspiration. P. S the picture below is Oprah Winfrey. There's so much to say about her. She is a big inspiration! # makeadifference

Operatives of the EFCC have arrested Ibanga Ime Akpabio, cousin to the former Akwa Ibom Governor, Godswill Akpabio for his involvement in a N10, 000,000.00(Ten Million Naira) oil scam. In a statement by the commission made available to newsmen on Wednesday, it said Ibanga was arrested in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. “Ibanga Akpabio’s arrest was occasioned by an allegation that he collected a sum of N10,000,000.00 from a potential investor in petroleum products.” “Specifically, he reportedly approached the investor to invest the money as equity in the purchase of petroleum product directly from a floating station belonging to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC.” “He allegedly assured the inventor that he had secured all necessary approvals for the running of the business. He allegedly collected the money through a Diamond Account being operated by Fastej Enterprises and neither neither kept faith with the business arrangements with the investor nor returned his money to him. He is urgently undergoing interrogation in the Port Harcourt’s Zonal office of the EFCC.” Ibanga Akpabio, who is the current deputy chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom state It equally made public a telephone conversation that got Ibanga into EFCC’s net. Governor Udom G. Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State, has directed the cancellation of the recruitment of 5,000 teachers conducted by the State Secondary Education Board in 2015. In a press release signed by the Head of Service, Mrs Ekereobong Akpan and made available to TheMail Newspaper, the government declared null and void all letters of appointment earlier issued to the affected persons by the State Secondary Education Board. The release states further that the state government will make adequate arrangement for the engagement of qualified Akwa Ibom indigenes to teach in the state public secondary schools as soon as possible. It could be recalled that the 5,000 teachers who were recruited under the administration of immediate past Governor, Senator Godswill Akpabio between February and April, 2015 were yet to be deployed to schools. When the incumbent governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel came on board, he suspended the deployment of the teachers, stating that the recruitment process was faulty. He said there were irregularities in the recruitment process coupled with false certificate and credentials by those offered employment letters. |
