Since the kids haven't travel to non of these country mentioned, that doesn't mean that they are not qualify to Schengen Visa Application. They can even apply with a virgin passport and Dubai is even an advantage of travel history for the kids. They only need to meet up with the other documents requires. French embassy will ask the sponsor ''your Uncle'' to provide his 3 months bank account statement must 'goboi' i mean huge amount code of operation because of the cost of the trip for the whole family...Father, Mother with six children.

Thanks.
Travel / Schengen Visa From Nigeria (quick Question) by Emmagency(m): 11:05am On Jun 28, 2015
Hi y'all. My uncle with his family (6 kids and his wife) are planning to have a trip into the Schengen area from Nigeria, with France as the first point of entry. Having checked the requirement list I found this:

[b]Make a clear copy of all the original documents, Make a clear coloured copies of last two US, UK, Canada, Japan , any Schengen visa and two clear coloured copies of passport data page.[b]

Question is, is this actually mandatory or one is just required to show them if you've had them in the past?

Because it doesn't really make sense. I understand it's just a way of making sure they don't give visas to people that may refuse to return but then these children don't have any of the required travel history (just dubai) and they're requesting for not just one but two previous visas. If all the countries mentioned above make it mandatory as well then no one would be able to travel.

If they refused to do the POS thing, then you have to do mastercard withdrawals.
Last i did, it was 270, less than even when you do online payment.
Then they charge you 420 naira.

Aii... Thanks. Was starting to think my posts were in ghostland

Can someone please give a quick answer to this: 'What is the most cost effective way of transferring funds from my naija FB account to my Lloyds account?'

N:B The naija account doesn't have Internet banking enabled..but has a Mastercard linked to it.

Hello people... Happy Sunday..! Quick question, I finally got an account with Lloyds and want to transfer funds from my first bank account (which isn't Internet-banking enabled but has a Mastercard linked to it). The lady at Lloyds claim I'll have to withdraw and then deposit. Thought I heard about a POS transfer method on here sometime back..

tjbrown: pls guys where can I change naira to pounds in Lagos. Can someone travel with only MasterCard with the hope of withdrawing at ATM machine in the airport

You can use your Mastercard to withdraw at Heathrow. Make sure it's any other bank but Firstbank because those people are so useless. For the third time, my card has been declined this time at primark today..GT Mastercard to the rescue again. I'm going to call them tomorrow and I know they will certainly have another rubbish to tell me. And they won't sell PTA. angry

Customer protection rights in the UK is quite impressive.. For example I bought some clothes from Marks and Spencer the other day and I really love them but it turns out that I have someone who worked there for 19 years and can get me a 30% discount off everything so she said to me "return them and we'll go later" and i was like "I can return these?" So I went back there the next day and told them i wanted to return the items and get a refund and the lady was like "okay, you've got your receipt?" And I answered 'Yes' (while she was checking the receipt, she asked "what's wrong with them sir" and I just said "nothing.. I changed my mind"wink and she just took them from me and gave me back my money. #Amazing

Yes oooh. The idiots told me because I have a Mastercard, Im not eligible to buy PTA.. funny enough, the card didn't work upon arrival at Heathrow. Thank God for my GT Mastercard as I had no single cash on me. I called them after settling and they told me my account needs address verification. Their days are numbered sha..

True man. Though i need a new phone, still confused on the best way to go about it.

Me got myself a nice S5 from an authorised Samsung dealer in Naija before travelling... was going to ask, these phones offered by carriers, part of the deal is that you stay on their network at least until you pay for the phone completely right? Can you change carrier after you've paid for the device in full?

Lol... Stay there... I'll have Internet both in school and hostel so it's a pretty good deal for when I'm hanging out....cos I'd like to #instagramthatpic right on the spot and not have to wait till I return home simply because my mobile plan doesn't have data included... although they did mention that they have the right to change the deal at any point...but until then. grin

Emmagency: @HudsonBanks: Skype calls to Nigeria is even cheaper than Rebtel sir..

Someone should please check this out and tell me what I'm missing here...This deal from vectone seems to have it all for just 10quids p/m

http://www.vectonemobile.co.uk/pay-as-you-go/offers/student-mobile-deals.aspx

Wait oooh,,, Lemme understand something, If I stream series online from sites like 'www.tubeplus.me' which is free and my favorite, that is piracy right?

@All: The thing about this having WiFi in school and hostel, it's always nice to be able to still connect freely to the internet when you're on the go..away from both locations...hence the need for a plan with data is kinda necessary for me..but a plan with at least 2GB should be just fine...don't know about these internet content eaters we have here that are swallowing data with underground pipes grin grin (Didn't mention any names ooh)

Had to bring this back to capture your attention guys and to get answers on this as this post was deleted by the NL 'werey' antispam bot.. Thanks to justy who I believe corrected the issh..

GeneralShepherd: All in all. Piracy is illegal and i don't think any of us will be too happy if people were enjoying our hardwork for free.
It was illegal when you were in Nigeria and it is still illegal in the uk with grave consequences.

No, you can't opt out of a contract unless it's a month contract and most sim-only contracts are 12months long
There's a price to pay to opt out of a long term contract

I get you bro.. I'm sure as hell ain't doing a long term contract.. I'm planning on doing monthly contracts naa ni... I remember you asking a question on mobile plans sometime back...have you settled for any?

DisGuy:
unfortunately as you have stated, you cant have it both way and most of the lyca-lebara-vectone-giffgaff, have a trade off
the best you can do is, use it for a month or so, weight you options and move on, it's all dependent on individual usage, uni/accommodation wifi access, etc
the good thing is you can always move with you number
or pay a bit more and get better options

Thanks man..

Getting into a contract is something you should never rush into.
You should consider your needs and your options first.

Yea.. I'm quite aware of that... I've done a lot of comparison and this looks like the best option and it's a sim-only deal so I should be able to opt out whenever I choose. My question is who is currently enjoying a better deal than this and on which network guys?

Hello people... Kindly help take a look at this... Been having kind of a tough time settling for a mobile plan as I require a plan that gives reasonable data as well as certain amount of minutes to Nigeria. But haven't been able to find any sha(As you cannot have it both ways; it's either a naija plan with certain amount of minutes with no data or a UK plan with data but no given minutes for naija calls).. So i stumbled upon this from Lebara for 12quids p/m:

UK minutes - 1000

UK SMS - Unlimited

Data - 2GB

Lebara to Lebara UK calls/SMS - Unlimited

Calls to naija will be charged from my PAYG account at 1p/m and 3p/m for fixed and mobile lines respectively.

Anyone enjoying a better plan than this? Because I've been stuck with O2 which I bought at Heathrow out of necessity sake and I need to switch ASAP!

There is no forex rates on that charge.

You're deducted the equivalent value of that amount, in relation to the current forex rate, and then you're charged an extra 460

Lol... My dear except you have relatives you'll be living with upon arrival, try to travel as light as possible. Well, I booked KLM and I'm allowed 2pcs of check in luggage(23kg each) and 1pc of hand luggage and 1pc of accessory(i.e a 10kg bag and another 2kg bag which can still be 1PC of hand luggage but shouldn't exceed 12kg in total)

Instead of withdrawing from ATM and depositing into your account, you just walk straight into the bank and ask to make a deposit into your account via POS/debit card.

Just to confirm, debit card linked to a Nigerian Account....?
