About the war, I feel really bad about it, but I can see through Putin's eyes, the bigger tragedy he is trying to avoid. Sanctions will bite, but Ukraine will not join Nato and with time, sanctions will fade off, but Russia will still be intact.

That's true victory, instead of waiting until youre defeated because of sanctions. The hard way is always the way out in life. Also don't forget, Russia suffered worse economical situation than now. Putin have spent the last decade sanction proofing Russia's economy and as luck may have it, China faces the same western hegemonic threat, and will lend Russia a hand because if Russia goes down, China is in deep soup. If you check out Russia and China in the map you'll see that China feel geographically secured because its impossible to invade them from the west, since they share a border with Russia.

For example its impossible to invade Nigeria from the north, unless you enter through Mali. Now imagine if Mali is an enemy, it would be a nightmare to defend yourself from the Atlantic ocean in the south, and Mali from North. Now imagine the eastside (Cameroon) and the west side (Benin republic) are enemy States, its hell. Luckily, China is exposed only from the SSC (south China sea), facing Japan and South Korea, so the opening is just one. For China, its a life and death issue because Russia must not fall. So they will support it. Putin and Xi are best friends and sign a memorandum of "no limit" to their friendship in the launch of the Beijing Olympic.

What Russia is passing through with the sanctions are the price a country pays for being corrupt. Instead of their oligarch laundering trillions of dollars since the fall of soviet Union, they should have become so strong and unbeatable like the Chinese. China is basically sanction-proof. If it was China that went to war with Taiwan, the west will do nothing to them.

This is a case for Nigeria if our leaders have common sense. Because foreign enemies don't have your time now doesn't mean you're safe. Like the old saying, "in terms of peace, prepare for war". It is the student that study hard passes exam, not the one that was giving an exam without preparation.

China really planned well. I admire their leadership. Facebook, Google Wikipedia, YouTube, basically every western influence doesn't work there. They have the world largest banks, produces everything they need (except micro chips), and oil which they import from Russia and are working towards achieving their MIC 2025 goal. If they achieve that in 2025, then welcome a new super power. How can you sanction China when you owe them trillions of dollars?

But its a double edged sword. The west are gambling big time with these sanctions on Russia, as it tells every other countries to pursue total independence from the western system. The US have destroyed far more countries, but where is the sanction against it ? Russia is paying a price for all countries under western hegemony, and if it comes out triumphantly , it will glow. Most countries are silent because they fear the US, not because they see against Russia.

Nigeria can't afford to remain neutral. Since China have refused to give us loan, we've returned back to the west both for debt forgiveness and to get new loans. If Nigeria didn't pick a side with them, then consider our debt request as good as impossible. For the west, everything is a leverage, no free lunch. Also the USA don't like fighting alone, they like to rally everyone. This strategy kind of hide their intention, so it would seems like its the whole world against it not only them.

Remember that Onyeama refused to comment on the issue before, but I guess they have been under pressure to do so, which they have no choice but to support the west afterall, we have little to no trade with Russia. That's the price one pay for not being truly independent. And by independence, I'm not referring to "de jure", but "de facto" independence and sadly, in our modern world, only China, and Russia are truly independent in the truest sense of the word.
